11:59 PM - With the riots in the slums continuing, although police and military forces seem to be driving them into hiding and suppressing the protestors, there are reports that the Nchiyamengian Parliament Building has been set alight. It is believed a group of protestors have snuck into the building and sabotaged it, pouring petrol in it and them setting it alight.

Some fire engines from the Puertazul fire department, most of which are already dealing with fires in the slums, have been sent to deal with the new fire at the Parliament Building.

The delegations of both parties both state that no ethnic retributions are carried out against the Lyserian minority, but the FPRL has stated that they will engage in significant wealth redistribution should they take power that will "break and end white monopoly capital that exists in Nchiyamengi as part of the legacy of colonialism". The MSI have also proposed a certain level of wealth redistribution.

Both the FPRL and the MSI both thank the Slavian government for the promise for additional support.

It is agreed then. You will be free to call on us for whatever combination of material aid you need for th 800 000$ each we have promised you. The 400 instructers will also be departing with you.

Both sides have approached you privately for the need of AK47s and RPGs, as well as for the ammunition with these. Both sides have also requested a significant amount of the aid also come in the form of canned food and medical supplies, as both forces are facing issues attaining these.

00:12 AM - Reports are now coming in of a series of raids having been taken out on Njengi villages loyal to the UP in Mitiyakijani province. The raids seem to have been perpetrated by the MSI and seem to have been in search of food and medical supplies, which the group is apparently short on. The forces have left the villagers mostly unharmed and fled when military forces moved in.

There are also reports of MSI forces sabotaging a coal power plant, throwing large parts of the city of Ciudadelapalma into darkness, and making the efforts of police and military forces to suppress riots there more difficult.

We will also be sending you 100 000$ dollars in medical supplies and another 100 000$ in canned food. Is this acceptable?

Both sides accept your generous offers. The goods will now try to be smuggled into the Republic and gotten to the rebel forces.

00:53 AM - The slums of all 4 major cities continue to burn. It appears the protestors may be targeting Njengi people in the slums loyal to the UP, particularly shop owners. There are unconfirmed reports of some vigilante killings during the protest. Police and military forces are driving back the protestors.

Image

There are reports that in the mining city of Mjiwadhahabu that the police and military forces are changing tactics and working to contain the protest rather than break it up, particularly due to their numbers being spread thin with forces going south to drive off MSI forces raiding Njengi villages loyal to the UP in Mitiyakijani province. There are also some reports of MSI forces firing at the forces sent to clear them out and ambushing some of their vehicles as they try to move from village to village over roads surrounded by jungle.

The battle between the army and FPRL forces at the military base near the jungles in Maporomokodhoruba Province is reportedly still going on, with the attack starting from approximately 09:53 PM yesterday, 3 hours ago, with it only being reported at 10:13 PM.

00:59 AM - Police and military forces trying to suppress the riots in the slums of Puertoplátano are falling back. They now appear to just be trying to contain the protest. A number of military forces are now being shifted to try relieve and reinforce the troops fighting the FPRL forces at the military base inland from the city, also in Maporomokodhoruba Province, where the battle has gone on for over three hours in the dark of night and the earliest hour of morning.

01:11 AM - The police and military forces in Ciudadelapalma are following suit with those in Puertoplátano and Mjiwadhahabu, and are falling back to try contain the protest rather than crush it. The forces are facing the issue of having to fight with just car lights and the light of fires to guide them, as the city has been in pitch darkness since MSI forces sabotaged a coal power plant around 00:12 AM. There have been some reports of some police and army forces killed by rioters in the dark narrow streets of the slums after the power went out.

Meanwhile in the capital of Puertazul, the fires set in the Parliament building have been put out, but the building has been left charred and the Parliament chamber ruined, meaning that Parliament will likely be unable to sit there for a while. The police and army have maintained their efforts to suppress the riots in the slums of the national capital, with protestors starting rapidly assembling barricades at 7:52 PM, over 5 hours ago, and was reported at 8:11 PM, 5 hours ago.

02:11 AM - In the capital of Puertazul the police and army have finally begun to pull out of the slums. The protestors have been suppressed in some areas, but have a tendency to go into hiding in some of the slums as the police and army sweep in, wait for them to push deeper in or move off, and then come out again, rebuild the barricades and relight the fires. It seems some in the slums are sheltering the protestors. In other areas protestors have held strong behind high barricades, hurling rocks at the police and army. Here army vehicles have had to drive through the barricades to break them. Several police cars have been burnt, a number of police and soldiers have been injured, a significant number of protestors have been arrested, some shot. A number of slums and shops have been burnt and there are some reports of vigilante justice.

The police and army seem to have finally decided to abandon their attempts to suppress the protest and are now moving back, seemingly in an effort to contain it. Many police cars and military vehicles are also beginning to move away from the area and seem to be heading away from the slums, perhaps back to the Police Headquarters and the damaged Parliament. The protestors starting rapidly assembling barricades at 7:52 PM, over 6 hours ago, and was reported at 8:11 PM, 6 hours ago.

02:23 AM - It has now been confirmed the military base near the jungles in Maporomokodhoruba Province where the battle between the army and FPRL forces and the military is the Shujaa military base, home of the 2nd Nchiyamengian Infantry Battalion of Outer Maporomokodhoruba Province Regiment.

The battle there is all but over, with army reinforcements from Puertoplátano swinging the battle in their favour and the FPRL forces now in a full retreat back into the jungle. The attack started at approximately 09:53 PM yesterday, about 4 and a half hours ago.

Rebel media loyal to the FPRL is reporting that the forces have seized a vast amount of military supplies from the base and have taken several captives. They also claim to have destroyed the base and rendered it unusable for the army.

03:08 AM - All but a skeleton guard of police and military vehicles remain around the outskirts of the slums of the capital of Puertazul. The forces around the slums in the other cities also seem to have been reduced. On rebel media, contacts within the slums are celebrating it as a victory.

Meanwhile there are reports that there are still small, minor skirmishes going on between Military forces and MSI guerrillas in Mitiyakijani Province. The fighting there, which has been low level the whole night, also appears to be dying down however.

03:19 AM - In a dramatic move police and military forces have burst into the Broadcasting studio of Libertad Noticias (Liberty News), a station sympathetic to the PLD and have shut down the station. The early morning shift team were on air reporting on the events of the night and early morning when the forces burst in and appear to have shut down any broadcasting, with the reporters just having time to mention that it was what was happening before they went dark. As of yet there is no official explanation for this.

Fundies even among the commie pinkos of the FPRL? Disgust! And of course we cannot stomach supporting a progressive faction...

We switch our endorsement to only the PLD, as seem the most modernizing force in Nchiyamengi.

We would also wish to inquire about the PCAOL, as to just how christian they are. Should they be willing to have only symbolic Christianity in their politics by respecting LGBT rights and supporting Darwinism in education, we would be willing to secretly supply weapons and other supplies if they set up some sort of Freikorps.
Ask us anything!

PCAOL are deeply conservative and are almost all devout Catholics, although increasingly a Pentecostal faction has been taking root. As such they tend to view evolution as only working through God in the form of intelligent design, or else dismiss it completely. On the LGBT rights side they unanimously oppose gay marriage, and most view homosexuality as "dirty sodomy". Some in the party want compulsory electroshock therapy for homosexuals, a few extremists believe that the death penalty should be put in place for homosexuality instead.

04:15 AM - A very tired looking Presidente Marcos Kampiya has appeared in a televised address from his office in the early hours of the morning. Kampiya declared a National lockdown between now, 04:15 AM on the 2nd of September, and 6 AM tomorrow morning, the 3rd of September, a 25 hour and 45 minutes lockdown, during which time no one would be allowed out of their housed on the streets without special permission papers from the police or army, and anyone on the streets without these papers would face arrest and punishment under military law. He stated that this was in an effort to clamp down on "lawlessness and the terroristic activity engaged in by traitors and enemies of the state", and that he would "ensure stability". Kampiya then ended the brief address.

04:32 AM - The two main news networks still up and operational, Noticias Patriótico and the Nchiyamengi branch of the Lyserian news network León Noticias, are broadcasting the message of Presidente Marcos Kampiya on the national lockdown. The networks have special permission to keep on operating and their reporters in the field have papers from the military. The networks are also reporting on the events of the night and are praising the police and army for their bravery while calling the protestors "violent traitors" and have spoken against the "cowardly rebel terrorists of the FPRL and the MSI".

Rebel media in the mean time is reporting that police and military forces have been spotted raiding the houses and arresting people in numerous cities and towns, but especially in the capital city of Puertazul. The reports suggest high ranking PLD officials are amongst those being targeted, along with reporters working for Libertad Noticias and business people and academics supportive of the PLD. There are also some reports that the 'Casa de la Libertad', or 'Freedom House', the headquarters of the PLD, is also being raided by police.

Libertad Noticias itself remains dark, nothing is being broadcast on it.

Dear Presidente Marcos Kampiya,

We have noticed that your nation is currently involved in a brutal civil war. Civil wars do tend to be a deadly situation with medical facilities strained to the maximum or entirely not existent. As such we would like to send medical aid to your nation to help care for the civilians. This medical aid will come in the form of the TNS Hope a Hope Class hospital ship with a 3,500 bed capacity.

In order to best care for all civilians we ask that we are able to help both the civilians in rebel held territory as well as those in government held territory. This may mean transporting civilians from rebel areas though government areas to the hospital ship. We also ask that we are able to set up a small military base as a base of operations for the medical aid. We will be more then willing to work with your government and its people to accomplish this.

In any case the TNS Hope will be escorted by two Ranger-class Destroyers, this is standard operating procedure for any Thermodolian hospital ship entering a war zone. These ships are only for defensive escort purposes and will not fire unless fired upon.

I thank you for your government's consideration.

Sincerely,
Steven Williams, Secretary of State

Military forces and Tanks have been seen on rebel media moving into the slums of the capital city of Puertazul, coastal cities of Ciudadelapalma and Puertoplátano, and the mining city of Mjiwadhahabu. In the light of day some protestors made an attempt to make a stand, and some barricades went up, but without the dark of night on their side to hide them they were quickly pushed back. Police are now reported to be raidi ng certain slums and pulling people from them and into police vehicles. Other people in the slums are being moved away from the slums, it is reported these a dominantly Busetsus in areas suspected to be loyal to the FPRL. The government has stated that these people are being moved to tented Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps in Kusinimwapwani Province in the south, which has so far mostly escaped the rebel violence and which is a dominantly Njengi province and one very loyal to the ruling UP.

03:05 PM - Presidente Marcos Kampiya has called a press conference. In it he has announced that the Partido Liberal Democrático (PLD) have been banned.

The ban comes under the laws against "aiding and abetting banned persons, aiding and abetting enemies of the state, aiding and abetting terrorists, aiding and abetting traitors, conspiracy to overthrow the President of the Republic, treason and high treason". This comes in response to the negotiations between the PLD and the banned FPRL, MSI and the PSP.

Presidente Marcos Kampiya them called Pedro Mabyarikampa, the Chief of Police of Puertazul, to the stage. Mabyarikampa issued an arrest warrant for PLD leader Líder de la Oposición Rosa Tampiyawende, as well as those for all high ranking members of the party. Tampiyawende and her delegation are still in Kiev, the capital of Socialist Federative Slavia, for talks with the FPRL, MSI and the PSP.

To the honourable Steven Williams, Secretary of State of the National Republic of Thermodolia

We, the government of the Republic of Nchiyamengi, would gladly accept your generous offer of medical aid. You may set up a small medical base in an emergence military medical centre that has been set up in a training field next to the barracks of the 1st City Regiment in the capital city of Puertazul, you may also provide some of your own additional security for your medical staff here.

We would also propose that you set up a medical centre outside the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps in Kusinimwapwani Province in the south, here those civilians injured by rebel forces can also be treated. The rebel terrorists have no territory, but rather these cowardly terrorists hide in the jungles and mountains. These areas are a war zone and these terrorists would likely try kill you long before they welcome you in. These areas are off limit for all but our military forces.

Once again, we thank you for your generous offer of medical aid.

Signed
