EP fighters have attacked a number of pro-Coalition Busetsu villages in inland Mlimayamaisha Province, burning the villages and slaughtering people on mass. As Coalition Military forces moved in to drive off and kill the fighters and number of them were ambushed by EP fighters, with a significant amount of weapons being swiftly seized.

Coalition forces have been able to mostly drive off the EP fighters by now, and a number of these fighters are dead. So far the death toll stands at an estimated 300 civilians, around 60 EP fighters (mostly child soldiers), 57 Coalition forces and 8 UN Peacekeepers (mostly those from Kadule).

These attacks follow the decision of the Puertazul High Court to rule with the Coalition Government, reaffirming their legitimacy, against an attempt by Njengi nationalist lawyers to have exiled Presidente Marcos Kampiya reaffirmed as the "rightful leader of Nchiyamengi". EP leader, Mateo Njera, has refused to accept the ruling of the Court and stated that they were "bought Communist traitors posing as judges. We will not stop fighting until the terrorist Antonio Hlayambinda is dead".

OOC: I'm assuming this tactician is being sent to aid the guerilla force EP. If so you can't exactly just fly a helicopter into Nchiyamengian airspace without at least provoking some suspicion (risking being shot at to the very least). Also landing a helicopter to meet them is a sure way to give away their and your position.

It would be a better and easier was to sneak in by taking advantage of the ongoing confusion to sail a small private boat to Nchiyamengi from a larger boat, drop off your forces and have them drive and / or walk inland to meet up with the EP guerilla forces.

Two Mommies One Too Many?:

Allow Gay couples to adopt children to address the serious issue of children orphaned by the war in need of homes. Drafted by acting Minister of Education Catalina Dumisende, acting Minister of Justice Adán Kusemponwenya and acting Minister of Welfare and Pensions Furaha Nazimodya, put into action by executive order by acting President, Presidente Antonio Hlayambinda (although explicitly only as a temporary action, to be voted on for renewal or to be discontinued at a later date).

The move has drawn criticism from many conservative groups, and individuals, including the PPP, more deeply conservative members of the MSI, the Marxist faction of the FPRL, the PNP and the PCAOL. They viewed this as "an attack on traditional marriage and the traditional family".

Meanwhile the PSP, PLD and Moderate faction of the FPRL have criticised the move only being a temporary, stating that there is a real need for finding homes for orphans, and that refusing to allow gay couples to accept in these children based on "narrow minded interpretations of religions" would be "condemning these orphans to a far harsher and more desperate reality".

Reformist elements of the FPRL and the MSI surprised many by supporting a temporary move to allow children orphaned by the war to be adopted by gay couples (who still cannot legally marry, but for whom it is no longer illegal to be openly gay). This group has stated that this move will be reviewed at a later stage however, and that a vote in the elected legislature will determine whether the move will remain or be discontinued.

Said Oliver looking at the EP delegation again for approval.

"Your word means shit to me" said the man bitterly. "I need real signs I'll be treated well, real assurances. How about we start by making me feel a little more comfortable?"

Sunday the 12th of March 2017:

GI fighters have attacked a church in the small town of Mananasikilima in Maporomokodhoruba Province, a town famous in the nation for its pineapple plantations. The GI force of reportedly around 6 adults and 17 child soldiers shot up the church and its occupants with AK47s. Civilian casualties are reported as 78, including a wealthy tourist family of 4 from Kadule, who had come to visit the nation after the transfer of power to the Coalition government.

The local police moved in but were outgunned and ended up pinned down. In the ensuing fight 8 police were killed and several more were injured. 7 child soldiers and 1 adult terrorist were also killed in the fight. As reports came in of military forces closing in the terrorists fled. A manhunt is currently underway looking for them. 1 child soldier was wounded and left for dead, with emergency medics rushing him to a hospital when he turned out to still be alive. The boy is currently being treated, while also being watched by agents of the Ministry of National Intelligence.

At the same time as this attack, GI forces launched a number of raids on inland Busetsu villages in Maporomokodhoruba Province, abducting women and children, killing men and raiding food supplies.

In the aftermath of the Mananasikilima Church attack, the acting Coalition government has bumped up an announcement of a spending increase to military and police forces assigned to deal with "violent terrorist extremists".

The language of the bill calls for launching a renewed crack down (with increased funding to back it) against the violent extremist terrorist groups the GI, VR and the EP. The bill states that their ongoing attacks on innocent civilians to further their extremist political aims are the very definition of terrorism. The bill was drafted by acting Minister of Defence Jasiri Manyakapiya, acting Minister of Police Kubwa Nazemakiya, and acting Minister of National Intelligence Wajanja Tazakapiya , and was put into action by executive order by acting President, Presidente Antonio Hlayambinda.

Wapenzi could not understand what the man was saying, but he seemed to want to find Puertazul. That could only mean that he worked with the Kampiya regime, to Wapenzi's mind anyway. The same Kampiya regime who had driven them out of their homes in the first place.

"Nadhani yeye ni Kampiya askari" he whispered to Maua. She stared wide eyed and startled at the soldier, seemingly more scared than before of a man like those who had driven them out of their homes.

"Tunafaa kumsaidia kupata nyuma ya mji" said Wapenzi to Maua "Kama tukifanya wao atakutuza na kutusaidia kupata mama".

"Hatuwezi kumwamini. Wapate kujaribu kuua yetu". whispered Maua back.

Wapenzi bagan to think.

"Sisi kuwa na kujaribu. Hatuwezi kuishi nje hapa milele" he said "Sisi kumpeleka kijiji kwanza tunaona".

"Ven señor" he said switching to the little Spanish he knew. He stood and motioned for the man to follow him.

It would be a day or two walk to the nearest village, from there they would have to see whether rebels or Kampiya regime officials could be contacted.
