National Kommandant Fenti looked out over the battlefield of the Fort. The Entente Forces had made it past the Stone Blocks and Slate Piles and were now storming the Trenches.
Boer Armored Cars and Tanks zipped around, their machine guns mowing down the Free Sylbanian Forces. The Aclusian Landfish Tanks, those that had survived the Sylbanian Artillery, were now sending small Shells and bullets at the upper trench line.
Fenti stood atop Lombardy Hill, which was in front of Lombardy Quarry, which was to the south of Lombardy Town. At the top of Lombardy hill, Fenti stood with 30 Fascist Guardsmen. Below Fenti, 3 Semi-Circle Trench lines were on the Hill, filled with Peoples Army Conscripts, and Foreign Volunteers.
The Entente had already taken the first trench line, and were making their way up the hill to the Second Line.
The Sylbanians were out numbered and out gunned. Their position was un-defendable at this point, the closeness of the Trenches and the steepness of the Hill meant that the Machine Guns couldnt fire directly down at the Entente Troops.
But, Fenti had orders to hold this hill to the last man! This hill was essential to holding the South Flank, and if they South Flank Fell, The---
A Artillery shell from a Aclusian Railgun landed smack dab right on the top of the hill, disintegrating the National Kommandant Fendi and 8 of the men next to him.
National Colonel Napaloni looked in horror at the red smear where his Commander had first stood. The men in the Third Trench line, along with the Fascist Guardsmen, had seen
their Kommandant destroyed, and this was the final straw.
