Edison Workshop

Pretoria, Guateng, The Traansval

Thomas Edison, inventor and business man was working with a man named Alexander and his assistant Watson on something that would revolutionize the world!

Edison was a master of electricity, he had invented a lamp that runs on Electricity from a Petrol Engine. He was still working on a way to move that energy across a city, but it was coming along.

It would have to wait for this though...

Alexander: Watson! Is everything set up?

Watson: Yes Sir! Edison has the power hooked up two.

Alexander: Ok! Close the door!

Edison closed the doors to the two rooms.

After a while he heard laughing from the two rooms, and out the two men burst laughing hysterically.

Alexander: IT WORKED! IT WORKED WATSON! I, ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL, HAVE CREATED A WORKING TELEPHONE!

(NOTE: This telephone was enhanced by Edison, which he did in real life in 1877 using Carbon which made the sound quality better, and allowed for better long distance calls)

They kept walking until they reached the presentation room. Captain Knark and officer Ryder where there waiting for them, as well as various different scientists, engineers and a peculiar looking fellow with small glasses and a thing mustache.

Mark Kruger: Mister Ryder! You rifles have been issued to my Air Corp and Aerial Marines!
And this must be the fellow you worked with, Krnka!

Kruger shook Captain Krnka's hand firmly

Krnka was a fairly young fellow, tall and using spectacles and with a rather fashionable beard and mustache. He shook Kruger's hand nervously.

"Its a pleasure to finally meet you Mister Kruger. Well you're majesty, Official. Sit down make yourselves comfortable. And prepare to be amazed."

Kruger and Oswyn sat in the cushioned seats, the rest of the generals and representatives sat right behind the two imposing men.

Krnka then revealed a billboard with photos and blueprints.

"The Krnka rifle MRK 1." He picked the rifle up. \

"Quite light and with tremendous firepower. A seven round magazine." He showed the magazine and loaded it and cocked the gun. He aimed at the hay dummy wearing a Warglorian helmet and ripped uniform then shot the seven rounds in a row hitting 4 in the body 1 in the head and missing 2.

Then he moved to the next part and uncovered a series of pistols. "Here we have the new Ryder/Krnka double action pistol. A masterpiece in the field of engineering. Ryder you may want to take over these part since you made most of the design."

Billy eyed his landlord, and the fat drunk who owned Billys house looked back. Billy was an officer, but he wasn't a royal, and so despite his higher social standing he didn't make enough money to move away from Bowler Street. The Watch Post had been taken away he year before after it had no effect on Bowler Street Gang, and the people of the neighborhood had gone right back to scamming and fighting one another as soon as they could. Billys landlord, Mr Becket, was one of the people who liked to scam, and Billy was not one to be on the losing end of that proposition.

"You think you can just throw me out of my house Becket?" said Billy, looking the fat man up and down. In Billys hand was a cricket bat, and he clutched it tightly in his hand.

"Yes, you slimy little shit," said Becket with a snaggle toothed grin, "I can Billy. Just because your some hot stuff in the Army dont mean I dont own your house."

Billy stepped up into the shorter mans face, looming over him. "You will let me into my house, you understand me? Ive payed my bills, and you cant toss me on the street. Ive killed people before Becket, and you wouldn't be any different."

"You wouldn't dare kill me Billy," said Becket, pushing the younger man back a step, and pulling a straight razor from his pocket. "Your ranks dont mean shit to the City Watch, and you'll go to jail just like anyone else."

Billy bristled, and stood taller, puffing his chest out. "Becket, Ive seen and done things you couldn't comprehend. I know how to bury a body, and though your fat would add an extra challenge, Im certain I could do it with you to."

Before Billy had a chance to make good on his promise however, he heard a familiar voice come from the stairs below him. He stopped, and both him and Becket looked down the steps to 5 men in Boer uniforms. And standing in the middle of them was none other than Billys old commander, Sgt Adams.

"Adams!" shouted Billy. He went to walk down the steps, throwing one last look at the crook who he called his landlord, before stepping up and moving his bat from his right hand to left, and extending his palm for his old friend to shake. "What are you doing here? I didnt expect to see you till I phased back into Fort Greensboro tomorrow."

Sergeant Adams: Someone said you were having troubles with a FAT, greedy landlord!

Adams pulled out his Model 1877 Thunderer Colt Revolver, and aimed it at the man

Sergeant Adams: Now you see here Mister what ever ya name is, Not only am i a Foreign National on assignment to Train Twelve Isles Troops, which gives me Diplomatic immunity, but ive also got 4 men here who will testify that you tried to come at me with that there Straight Razor and that i done killed you in self defense, aint that right boys?

The 4 other men, who were Boer Aerial Marines sent on board the Airship that was given to The Twelve Isles, gave their agreement to Adams words

Sergeant Adams: Well then, now i suggest you let this find War Hero into his own damn home!

Adams fired a shot at the Ceiling to hammer in his point

Captain Billy Younger

Billy laughed at Beckets reaction to the gun, watching the weasel like man scurry off behind his counter. He turned to his old friend and said, "that sure was a good show. Though I suggest we skip out. Folks round these parts might not take to kindly to you waving a gun about." Billy turned, and looked up the stairs again, before continuing. "Hey, Im heading back to Fort Greensboro soon, I just gotta get dressed, and I could show you the sights of Townhill before we get to work. Ive got some bourbon in my house if you and your men want anything to drink."

Admiral Stanley Forge

"Sir," said the sailor Forge had sent to the telegram officer.

"Yes," said Admirl Forge, "whats the news."

"We just received telegrams our forward ships, they were just signaling about rocks in the way. If we swing south, we can avoid them altogether, and we will be halfway to our destination by morning."

"Excellent," said Forge, smiling some. "Head back to the telegram officer, and have him send a telegram to the whole fleet. We will swing south, and continue on till morning."

Admiral Jacob Walefield

"I must tell you Parlow, I am quite pleased that this opportunity has presented itself. Perhaps we may even find you a proper lady at this ball." Wakefield and Parlow strode down the street in Stiltham, on their way to a ball being held by a Lord Tellings, in honor of his daughters 18th birthday.

"I dont mean disrespect sir, but I am only attending because you ordered me to."

"Well," said Wakefield, "Its a good thing I did. You arent exactly the most chivalrous of officers I have ever met, and If you are going to be my First Mate, I feel we should fix that." Parlow didnt respond, just looked behind him at a pair of women outside of a bar with loud, raucous music pouring out of the batwing doors. He tipped his hat at them, and the women giggled and blew kisses his way. Wakefield crinkled his nose. "Honestly Parlow, do you have respect for anything?"

"Yes sir I do," said Parlow stiffly.

"And what would that be? Loose women and alcohol?"

"No sir," said Parlow, "those are just two of my hobby's. I respect art, and life in the navy, and most of all I respect the ideals of others."

"Hmm," said Wakefield. They didnt speak after that, just continued walking until they reached the governors estate.

Oswyn laughed and said quite amused "Well young man... show us. I'm a man open to wonder after all." Oswyn said.

"T-thank you your majesty." The young man then revealed strange apparatus.

"Gentlemen... I give you the electrical coil... It will provide us with electricity... which we can use to power machines... motors and create lights in oil lamps. And we will be able to send messages without cables." The young boy seemed to be quite excited.

The audience couldn't hold but laugh.

Thernanian Naval Fleet
Battleship Fuso
Admiral Mori Takenyuki felt the decks of the ship roll back and forth as he wrote off a letter to the Daimyo, carefully choosing his words, he crafted the letter with tenderness as he took a deep breath and had his hand guide the pencil along the paper, helped by a small whale oil light that was sticking out of his room, illuminating the cabin some more.

Dearest Daimyo, I am pleased to report that the Thernanian Fleet has left only two days prior to your calculations on our departure, this will mean Exercise Rhine is completed quicker, with a time table of 15 days compared to the 22 days before the supply ships had been sent, they may be a burden on the overall speed of the fleet, which is 18 knots strong thanks to the new battleships, I hear war has been declared with the Twelve Isles, I sincerely wish that we win this war on land, and our ships continue to sail to victory on the sea lanes, starving the enemy ports with a blockade that will force them to surrender without more lives on land or on sea to be lost, if we fail, I do not wish for the consequences to befall my men, and so I will take any responsibility for failure, as they were under my command and following my orders.
Sincerely yours, Admiral Mori Takenyuki

with that, he sent the letter off and looked at his maps once more, they were approaching the Strait of Good Hope, seeing that it was a miracle for the entire thernanian fleet to slip out in total darkness undetected as of far, peeking at his pocket watch, he saw that it was a quarter to 2 in the morning, he had not even realized that, and so, he got in his pajamas and snuggled up with a good book before sleeping.

Jonas was a Arengin immigrant, age 9. He had lived happily under the Adler regime, as his father was a good friend of Adler. However, when Himmler came to power, his father disappeared, and men in blue and purple brought Jonas and his family into a very uncomfortable train.

When Jonas arrived, there was masses of people, the soldiers in blue with purple helmets pushed everyone into a line, where all their clothes were removed. They were given striped black and white clothes, like pyjamas to wear. Then, they found a gate, where a man with a cap would point people left or right.

On the left was a big hole, where people were using picks to hit the ground, with a bunch of huts and cottages and factories around the place. On the right, was a strange building with an iron door, and a chimney which seemed to eternally smoke. Jonas smelled some of the smoke, it recognised him of cooking pork over a fire, he also smelled a peculiar smell which he only smelled when near a rat poison shop.

Jonah saw his grandparents go to the right into the strange building, then he was pointed left, where he was given a shovel. He heard some of the soldiers talk about how it was a concentration camp. Jonah had bad concentration, he was happy that this camp would help him......

An Oberleutenant walked up to Adler's secretary. "Ah, Oberleutenant Himnzer, I see your back from your mission from General Landa, Der Führer has been expecting you, he will be in the room on the left, Heil Adler!" The secretary said. The agent walked into a room guarded by 10 Imperial SA Blackguards, where Adler was wearing glasses, looking at the Warglorian Newspaper.

"Ah, Himnzer! I've been expecting you!" Adler said "guards, get out." The guards walked out of the door. "So Himnzer, welcome, take a seat, have you gotten der 'package' from New Berlin?" Adler said. However, Adler secretly had a shotgun under his desk, he knew this was not Himnzer, and he wanted to know what he wanted.

Had he heard D'Plantagenet correctly? "I see," drawled the Morvernian - his mustachioed face unreadable. It was an ill thing to decline a gift freely given; yet a stone that caused sickness? It was western sorcery, and nothing but. "I shall forward your words to Her Majesty's general staff, however. Their decision shall carry the day." A fortifying sip of tea later, and he was ready to address the next issue at hand. "They shall find the NSCU's aeronautical research most interesting, as interesting as your blueprints. Of this I am all but certain. As for your petroleum; the Sultana's realm is blessed with abundant deposits of it. We should, moreover, be most interested in contracting the aid of your engineers and experts; that al-Morvern might construct for itself the infrastructure required to effectively exploit these deposits. Such assistance, should His Highness be able to provide it, would be the greatest prize of all to the Dowager-Sultana. "Of course," Simeon replied, "We will help you in any infrastructure that you need for the deposits and such.", when asked what the NCSU wanted in return, he grinned, "Why, join the Eastern Imperium of course," he said, his grin turning into a smirk, "The new cunt in the Warglorian Reich is a pussy, we need to make the Imperium great again."

However, Adler secretly had a shotgun under his desk, he knew this was not Himnzer, and he wanted to know what he wanted.

Hello, Himmler.

Sios received your message, and so did I, and many others. I, Pevillez Aronteé, say no. I'm sorry.
I am a commoner, I lived through the Hidden Purge, and so did you. We won't fight a fight supported by racists.
It's quite hypocritical, and many of us in North and South Maxtopia would agree, that you created a list of who is more supreme than the other.
I hope the Ethnocracy doesn't go too well, it just doesn't fit with a Maxtopian leader.

Regards, Aronteé

Many more letters like this were sent. Despite few members wanting the revolt, the majority said no.

"Thank you, thank you. Now I'll leave it to Admiral Kornilov to showcase the new battleships."

Admiral Kornilov steps in and unveils the diagrams of the new ships.

"These are mighty ships that will travel far in the world and will deliver the best punch they can to the enemy. Fast and with more firepower, as well as we have the new ship that is capable to carry over 5,000 men to battle. 10 of each will be ready for combat in 5 years."

After a while the session was over. Both Oswyn and Kruger impressed by the new inventions.

At the moment when everyone was already leaving the room, a small bony man gathered everyone's attention.

"Gentlemen... I-I-I have something too... something that will change the world as we know it..." The young man said.

As the audience laughed, the hound man left the stage in disgrace.

As the rest of the occupants of the demonstration room left, Mark Kruger walked up to the man.

Mark Kruger: Young Man, if you what you say is true, I implor you to contact this man, his name is Thomas Edison.

Kruger handed the Young Man a card with a address for Edison and Co.

Sergeant Adams: Yes, I say we hightail it as soon as possible, cause I wasn't telling the truth about that diplomatic immunity!!

Once Billy got dressed, Adams and Billy said goodbye to the Aerial Marines and boarded a Ford Model T Car, and drove for the Fort.

"Gentlemen," The doctor said in a thick German accent, "The time has come for me to unveil my latest invention. I present to you, to EMG82." He lifted a small blanket and revealed a small machine gun.

"It fires 580 .303 rounds per minute. Has a muzzle velocity of 780 metres a second, and has a crew of four. Allow my volunteers to demonstrate." Four Eodorian Legionaries took up their positions on the EMG82. The gunner aimed it at the human shaped targets up ahead. And fired. The rounds slamming into the targets. Tearing them apart. Once the 250 round belt was expended, the soldiers stood and re assumed their positions on the side.

"Very well done Doctor. How soon can it be outfitted to our divisions?" Field Marshall Erik Stauffer asked.
"Well Field Marshall. I am currently producing them at my factory in the Northeast. However, it would be recommended for more military factories to be built to heighten our production."

BREAKING NEWS

Today, the emperor has died heirless. He was found in his room, and it seemed that his leprosy had worsened and it killed him, a Glasgow grin was etched on his face, a spine chilling reminder of his ever worsening insanity. Due to having no apparent heir that was eligible for the throne, a person from another dynasty has been elected to the position of emperor, the person in question is Johann IV of Soissons, now emperor Johann I of the NCSU, he is a fanatical Cthulhist, but opposes the Immigrant Genocide. A recent law he made has been passed, it is about the stopping of the Immigrant Genocide. His opinion on the disbandment of the old Imperium can be summarized in this excerpt from an interview- "To be honest, Himmler was truly stupid to disband the Imperium, thus, I am proud to announce that the Eastern Imperium will be continued and strengthened."-, No one opposes him at the moment.

Jhonaess Border
Kuruzov had been part of the Wetwintern party, and he was going to fulfill that. He prepared the 50,000 men and 100 artillery in his colonies, and sent a diplomatic envoy to the people of Jhonaess to give up their land peacefully. The envoy never came back, and scouts reported that his head was hung upon a pole. The message was given out to invade, and they did. They attacked, and used a mixture of artillery and men to attack the natives. The natives were strong, and their troops were well trained. The Rannoire were losing at first, underestimating them, but soon were proven wrong. At the end of the first two weeks, the Rannoire had only taken half of the land.

United Destiny

United Destiny as it was called by the people of the NCSU, was an idea that all Cthulhist following peoples should be united under onr banner, whether it be through conquest or diplomacy, and recently, the government had begun to implement this in the colonial policy, which meant that Cthulhist areas in the world would often be prioritized first in the colonial or conquest process.

Speaking of colonialism, the NCSU has now began expansion into Griggnl, a Cthulhist worshipping area. Troops began pouring into it along with the Grand Fanatic and his fellow Fanatics. The people of Griggnl, who were close to the NCSU and thus quite influenced, were quickly roused, and joined the colonial march. Some decided to make separate marches of their own and rouse the other people, which sped up the colonial process. Some people also began modernizing areas, as the areas in question were only in the late Renaissance era in terms of technology. Eventually, when the marchers were halfway into Griggnl, they began settling alongside the natives, which were of the same language as the Empire, this resulted in the building of proper towns that would turn into cities. Eventually, they reached the technical border of Griggnl, and they began to march into Wastlndun, which would be harder.

The Court of Jewels
The Royal Capital
Iä, Cthulhu f’tagn!

From beyond the office window came the distant sounds of pianola and kettledrum. Evening beckoned. “D’Plantagenet-beg,” began Amman Pasha, “Should our nations stand together, it must be as brothers-in-arms for the purpose of defense against a foreign aggressor. Your Imperium of the East should not look to al-Morvern’s support for any aggressive foreign venture.” Amman Pasha summed up his views with an enigmatic statement: "I would like to stress, D’Plantagenet-beg, that a favourable response to my previous proposal could very well be the first step towards further arrangements between my nation and yours, perhaps even covering more important arms of the Morvernian state.”

Führer Himmler,
Given Wargloria’s unfortunate record of erratic policymaking both domestic and foreign, I am not convinced that it would be in al-Morvern’s interest to form an alliance with the Reich. However, to demonstrate cordiality and goodwill between our respective nations, the following treaty would do much to normalize relations.

Treaty of Cordiality between the Empire of Wargloria and the Sultanate of al-Morvern:

- The signatories pledge to maintain the territorial inviolability of their respective nations, as well as to refrain from the aggressive use of force as a use of statecraft with regard to the same.
- The government of the Warglorian Reich pledges to use Morvern as its main source of the following resource(s): copper, rubber.
- The government of al-Morvern pledges to use Wargloria as its main source of the following resource(s): steel.
- The minimum prices set on these products shall be agreed upon between the Morvernian Ministry of Commerce and the equivalent body within the Warglorian Government.
- The Warglorian Government will permit the Morvernian Government to operate a service to support the migration of Warglorian nationals from Wargloria to al-Morvern.

With sincerity,
Honoriam Crovernid de Sulazzo,
First Speaker of al-Morvern.

We appreciate your decision in this matter. It is regrettable that we are unable to exchange letters under more auspicious circumstances.

With sincerity,
Honoriam Crovernid de Sulazzo,
First Speaker of al-Morvern.

Paranda
Sultanate of al-Morvern
Well begun is half done

Through the air the skyship roared, an Ertugrul model with a Daskar engine capable of pushing her along at some 50 horsepower. Oh, it was hardly a steed of the skies, but much better than footslogging it, in the mind of both her pilot and the letters he bore. Envarum-beg was one of Morvern's few private aviators, the vanguard of the interesting new technology. For his contribution to the United Morvernian Exposition in Canakkala, he had bravely offered to demonstrate a concept he and other fliers had come up with some time ago - mail delivery via zeppelin. Somewhat of a radical idea, since the biplanes, even good Daskar-made ones, were flimsy at best. It still bore testing though, as the sack behind his tiny seat proved. Sixty five hundred letters, all to the denizens of distant Paranda.

His little skiff had climbed admirably after takeoff on that level dirt airstrip; now eight minutes into his flight, the airfield at Paranda filled his vision. This was a test run because it was alongside the rail route - the time for news to pass from town to town along the dirt roads was well documented by mere rail schedules; whereas now he had made the thirteen kilometer journey in less than half the time the train could do such a run. Down his skyship lurched through the warm winter air, until finally above modest landing pad it hovered. With a quick glance backwards Envarum confirmed that both of the mail sacks were still closed and heaved a sigh of relief as a small mob of well-wishers thronged onto the airfield. His propeller wound down, and Evar climbed down from his fickle craft to pose for a slow-capture daguerreotype of the event.

This? This was progress.

"Why of course Mr. Amman Pasha," Simeon d'Plantanaget replied, mentally noticing that the mint tea was icy cold for some odd reason, "The Eastern Imperium is mostly defensive due to the bloatedness of the Alrusian Entente, but most of the offensives will be led by the emperor alone.", "All good things my friend," he replied to the envoy's statement, "Heck, you're a monarchy, we could have a Royal Marriage if possible and favorable.".
