Greetings new rulers of our closest ally al-Morvern, and let's make this diplomatic message blunt and to the point okay? You see, you are now rulers of al-Morvern, and in my opinion, that needs some alliance reorganization, as you might leave the alliance al-Morvern was in. Simply put, we want a guarantee from you that you will stay in the Eastern Imperium and not leave it.

See, very blunt! And I hope to get a reply soon.
Toodles!

To: Imperator Johann II of Soissons,
Imperator of the NCSU

A thousand greetings upon you and your family from al-Morvern. We are pleased to say that we have no plans to implement any changes to our existing foreign policy at this time. The Sultanate has benefitted greatly from our alliance with the Eastern Imperium and it is our hope that al-Morvern might remain in this alliance in the future.

Greetings, fellow leader, and welcome to the world stage. Al-Morvern is a bountiful land to rule, however it seems the nation has been embroiled in a war with Arengin. The Traansval wishes to offer its support in the way of Arms, Ammunition, and Vehicles that will be sent across the border.

If you agree, 5 trains will leave Pretoria, 1 filled with Rifles and other small arms, 2 filled with Ammo, 1 filled with Artillery, and the last with Armored Cars and a few light Tanks. We wish to undermine the Arengin Unions power and influence, and Al-Morvern can help in this goal, and perhaps prove a worthy ally in the future.

Sincerely, Jethro Kendi.

The day was upon the people of Arengin. The population of the capital had gathered at the Blue Square to see the King make a speech to the nation. All through Arengin even in Karnopol people tuned in their radios to hear the king speak. The word of the attack on the palace had spread like wildfire, rumors about the Rusklands being the perpetrators, others believes it was the Manticorians, and some even believe it was the Boers.

King Oswyn had endured small injuries. But the attack had been like a blow on the heart of Arengin. Many generals blamed the Morverians as it would be the most logical factor. But Oswyn didn't jump in conclusions. He made sure he was in perfect shape for the speech.

Hundreds of thousands gathered on the square awaited the king. When Oswyn appeared on the balcony of the National Hall the people lashed out in cheers and clapping, raising Arenginian flags and banners. Oswyn raised his hand and the square went quiet. Nikolai, Melissa, Martha, Anna, Rosalina and even Bella herself with her delegation were present.

The king was handed a microphone and he began to speak.

"People of Arengin, I come to you in a state of appreciation and humbleness to your worries for my health and my family. We must remain together as a nation and never let our enemies divide us with petty cowardly attacks. We are a nation of warriors, workers, and intellectuals. We must strife to become better and better we will be.

The attack we endured on our capital was of unknown hands, but we know that they are enemies who wish to break our will to be a better nation, with string ties to our allies and our international brethren. This was an open declaration of war, not only to us but to our friends the Islanders. Empress Cartwine, whom has become a member of Arengin royalty and familiarity was also victim of this attack.

We suspect this was on the hands of many factions, the truth is yet unknown. What intelligence officers say is that it was likely an attack by the Morverians whom have dared to attack our sovereign lands and slaughter our people. We must not stand ill by as our people suffer. We will fight, the Morverians have made new laws and policies that will create no more than harm to their people, and we will not take such extreme and desperate tactics. We shall send our men in arms whom have bravely defended Arengin for thousands of years. We shall fight against Morverian imperialism on our lands and we shall win.

To the people of Arengin, rise up to our enemy. We shall become stronger than ever." The king finished his passionate speech with a "Long Live Arengin, URA!"

The people chanted the same phrase as they saw soldiers of the capital marching. The king retired back to the building and Nikolai and his wife stepped in to announce Melissa's pregnancy. The minute the people heard the news a new essence of happiness and joy was in the air. The people where filled with nationalistic sentiment as they rallied behind for the war on Morvern and the incoming of a new royal family member.

I apologize for not taking the time to add in our titles to the address of this telegram, but it is quite urgent.

I shall enter Arengin in secret, and meet you in secret at the palace. Let no one, absolutely no one know of this.

We must discuss something of grave importance.

The Manticoran Empire wrote:Eaka, a very close friend of the Empire, had just collapsed. The two nations had bonded during the Asgeirrian War, when Manticore not only supplied Eaka with arms and military advisors but had even fought alongside them. Now, though, that nation was gone. The reasons for it were unclear but what was abundantly clear was that the Empire could not allow the GDU to expand in Nuwe Afrikaan. Troops entered Austrivania a week after the collapse, immediately working to install a functional interim government while also assisting with keeping the peace. Virtually all of the population remembered the Asgeirrian War and knew that the Manticorans had bled to liberate them. This was seen as another liberation and it continued into Gilda in the following weeks.

Empress Catherine bordered an airship to meet with remaining government officials in Austrivania and Gilda, to discuss the needs of the Eakan population. Some necessities were quite apparent: food, clean water, utilities, safety were high on the list of priorities. However, these territories also bordered Halium, a member of the GDU with a history of political instability. There was also a history of Arengin supporting Halium's government. If Halium got spooked by the annexation, then it wouldn't be long before Arengin troops were in country. And with most of Manticore's troops in Tamir, a war in Nuwe Afrikaan wouldn't be very beneficial.

The Annexation had gone smoothly over the last two years. A few skirmishes with NCSU invaders which had come and gone like the brushfires they were. The Eakans were now beginning to think of themselves, at least somewhat, as Manticorans. The Empire had provided them with transportation, sanitation, security, and even a functional government. In Glida and in southern Austrivania, Manticoran troops combined with former Eakan forces to secure the border with Halium and, along the coast, the old, run down Asgeirrian forts were rebuilt. News of war in Afrikaa didn't worry most of the citizens, many of whom were busy with work putting the new provinces back into working shape.

One segment had caught the eye of many Norcourtians this Sunday morning, as it was a quite sad and historical moment, causing the end to an era.

THE LORD IS DEAD! Carth Dies In Sleep, Aged 72

28 January, 1899

At around 1:34 AM, on Saturday night, Lady Isabella went to check on her beloved husband, only to find him laying dead during his time asleep. The Lord's personal doctor has declared that the reason being, was due to stress and heavy drinking, however other predictions include old age, or a Heart Attack. Many are saddened at the death of our dear ruler, and his funeral will be held at the Chesterfield Green. Lady Isabella stated in a recent questioning that "Carth was the most humble man I've known in my life. Throughout his career, and military conquests he's always remained humble, but at the same time stayed prideful and aggressive to his enemies. I miss him so" . His actions in his previous years, have granted him an obvious guaranteed entry to the heavens. May he rest in peace. See page 2 for more information.

Before Carth's sudden death, he had sent out a message to the leaders of Al-Morvern

TO: The Governmental Beholder, of Al-Morvern
From: Lord Carth Alexander, Leader of the Norcourtian People

Greetings. As you may know, the threat of Arengin looms on the horizon for Norcourt and it's allies, and we cannot possibly send troops to fight right at this current moment. However, for now I myself, would like to assist in your current operations. The Noorcourtian Vergaus Armory has developed a new form of Light Machine Gun, one in not need of a water cooling jacket. It is to come into service in a few months in the Norcourtian Army. I wish to send these guns to you free of charge, for you to use if need be against the Arengins. I've also sent a picture along with the specifications, for referral use. Hopefully, we can possibly send you even more munitions in the future, for later use. Farewell, my friend.

Dehum Continent

Everything Was dark.
Everything except where there was light.
But, by the shades of night, a person, covered in a black trench coat, was walking through a dark street.

He had a piece of cloth in his face, covering some of his mouth and nose.
When suddenly, he stopped in the front of an well-known store.
He scrambled to pick some notes he hided on his Coat.
Soon, another stranger, walked to him.
"From The Darkness.."
The First replied
"We bring light."
"What is the message."
The second man took out an Paper, and gave him it. Upon that, he left. Hidden by the cover of night.
The first mean read the paper, and, upon that, started to run to his house.

The Office of the Verkozen Officiele
The Republican Palace
Pretoria City
Gauteng Province
The Republic of The Traansval

Verkozen Officiele Jethro Kendi quietly sipped on his cup of coffee, reading over reports from Diplomatic and NAD Agents from around the world. Soon, he would embark on his journey across the sea to Arengin, but that was for later. Kendi picked up a piece of paper, the trains had been loaded with the War Materials that would soon be shipped to Al-Morvern to assist them against Arengin.

Kendi laughed, he was sending weapons to help a nation defeat the nation he was about to cooperate with to eradicate the men who attack Pretoria.

Jethro's face slackened, thats right, the men.... He pulled open a drawer in his desk to look at that, that, that folder.... Kendi slammed it shut, that was for later...

The Verkozen Officiele decided he was done reading reports, and picked up the Pretorian Times. Then proceeded to drop it in shock.

Verkozen Officiele Jethro Kendi: Lord Carth... Is dead??!?

Kendi dropped to his knees on the ground. He'd not known the man long, but in that short time he considered the man a dear friend, more so than the Eodorian Leader who seemed to distance due to Cultural Gaps, and the Manticoran Empress who was a down right snob, or the TTI Empress who seemed to be playing both sides.... He couldn't believe Carth was dead...

To: The Norcourtian Government and Lord Carths Wife
From: The Verkozen... Oh hell to the titles, Jethro Kendi

I feel deep, deep sorrow at the passing of the wise and great Lord Carth of Norcourt. I hope he rests peacefully now, safe from the stress and torment that we world leaders endure. I will wish to pay my respects, after i take a short diplomatic trip.

Madam Carth, i especially wish to extend my condolences to you. May your husband rest in peace.

Bamburg, Town Square

For The Empire! Chapter 1: Reclamation

January 29th, 1899

Surprisingly, people were quick to start election campaigns, after just a few hours of the Lord's death. There was tens of candidates, all from different corners of the Empire. People from Goldrush, Southercourt, Newcastle, and even The Drales, had come to campaign. Among the many, was one man different than the others. Alistair Caneius, a 27 Year old man from Southern Harbrook. He was different than most of the candidates, as he didn't promise the diverse ways used by the foreign countries, nor the Alliance, however what he did promise was greater than all.

"The old ways of our Elixian Empire are dying, the people of Norcourt are turning weak, fragile, and have fallen victim to sensitivity, and the previous governmental actions. Virion Cane, Artemis Germanus, Richard The Tall, Karth The Great, they are all looking down upon us today, along with all the people of old. Life was better back in the olden, we were bigger, stronger, and had a great amount of power at our disposal." He said and took a pause

"We were feared, unlike no other. However not only were we powerful, but at the same time we managed to encourage knowledge and learning throughout all of Norcourt, our children were being taught by the best of the best, which would in turn make them take the places of such, and use it for the next generation. The Great Statue of Cane looked on proudly upon the Empire, but now it is nothing but a pile of rubble amidst a world that doesn't care. I dream of a united Alliance, that operates under one large Empire. Rebellion in Harbrook is on the rise, with over 20,000 Followers of the Covenant fighting our dear soldiers. Our armies our being equipped with the same equipment our enemy has, that is a problem. We must be always one step ahead of our foes. Our soldiers are not getting the pay and treatment they deserve. These men and women fight for their country, they deserve whatever is required. And trust me, I've seen combat in the Sylbanian Wars, The Goldrushian Revolution, and The War of the Twelve Isles, I know what it's like to be a soldier."
The Crowd let out a large applause. One by one, the many people viewing upon the other candidates, came to hear what he had to say.

Finally, Alister had come to a conclusion...

"We have lived through these Dark Ages for all too long, that is why I ask for your vote, ladies and gentlemen. We are all the same, Norcourtian, Goldrushian, Dralesian, we are all Elixians in our blood. For the Elix, or for nothing!" Caneius shouted

Again, the crowd applauded, 34,000 strong. From the beginning, it was clear who would win...

Chesterfield Green, Carth Manor

Lady Isabella Carth had recieved the messege from Jethro Kendi, to which she quickly replied...

To: Jethro Kendi
From Isabella Carth

Jethro I thank you for your condolences. As I recall, Alexander often regarded you as one of his dearest friends, among the rulers of the Alliance. He saw something in you that differentiated between the leaders of the world. I suppose it was your common sense and humanity. He often told me how stressful it was to be appointed to Alliance meetings, but then he would be disappointed in himself for not being of attendance. He thought himself inferior to most of the leaders, and would always try his best to improve, even when I told him that he was doing fine. Nevertheless, I thank you, Jethro, I hope to see you soon.

- Regards, Isabella Carth

St. Osloverg, Arengin.
Royal Palace.

The night was a cold one, winter had arrived and it were the last days of the year. Christmas lights adorned the streets and houses as well as trees in every house. Cars driving in the streets with the exhaust from the engines quite apparent from the cold temperatures. It was a calm night.

At the Royal palace hundreds of soldiers patrolled the streets and walls, since the September attacks security had been tightened. The palace had endured an extensive reparation and had been repaired to its original shape.

Nikolai and Melissa were both enjoying a calm and warm rest at the chimney, Nikolai reading the newspaper and Melissa knitting an outfit for the baby. Martha and Melissa's mother were there too, looking over the plans for a baby shower.

Oswyn was on his studio as always, not a lot of advisers as usual, it was an easy day and easy month for any government work. The Duma was at its usual rambling as always and war plans were going as plan. Now Oswyn was awaiting an arrival of a person he much rather not see. Kendi. He didn't like the man, he was clearly against Arenginian interests and Oswyn hadn't explicitly talked to him. Yet he respected him, not as much as he respected Kruger but enough for the man to have some dignity. Melissa hated Kendi however.

Oswyn was also awaiting an Okran briefing in the following days, the Director had told him that there would be news regarding the Traansval government as well as the Manticorians. He wasn't expecting much.

He was then given the updates on the world. His secretary brought out the most relevant news.

"Sir, the National earning have seen a 20% increase in the last months, trade with most nations has resumed as usual and the few nations that are not trading with haven't brought much damaged to our economy."

"Good..." Oswyn responded.

"Next is the death of Lord Carth Alexander, Leader of the Norcourtian People. He passed away this week and we haven't made any statements sir..."

"I never cared for the Norcurtian, they were as treacherous as the Traansvals by joining their alliance... Send some flowers and regards anyway. We have to show some decency."

IC: Turmoil in Tedkno Republika

Postby Crimetopolis » Mon Jan 30, 2017 3:34 pm

Enraged at both the Hydra attack and Kendi's failure to protect Tekno-Republikan settlers in Transvaal, Boers literally were flooding police and military recruiting stations. A new party, the Friendship Defense Party. It's spokesman was Robert van Rhoodie. His campaign attracted many Boers and Tekno-Republikans alike. "We seek only to help our Tekno Republikan friends, for they have helped us. Only the evil of Jethro Kendi must be abolished." Further, the Freedom Defense Party was openly arming poorer Tekno-Republikan citizens with semiautomatics. Additionally, the most popular music was played on their programs. A new kind of music had emerged and it was Roll n' Rock. Adolf Hitler was the lead artist, with such hits as "WarGlorian Gal , please invade me , Baby'.' 'Huntin' dog', and "I love my new 4wheeler!'

'Fuhrer-President, Robert van Rhoodie is here to see you." "Please enter." They shook hands and discussed matters. "I understand your party is no threat to our nation. But what goals do you want." "Fuhrer-President, should I win the election, I wish to include both you and your capable staff in positions in my government. Freedom Defense seeks only the best for our nation, and you have been a wise steward indeed' "What ;position do you have in mind?" "A good-will ambassador in our diplomatic corps." "I ask only that those whom help the safety and well-being our land not lose their jobs.' "Agreed. We totally like how things are run and want to maintain the status quo."

"While Hydra is a menace, Jethro Kendi is far more dangerous. We back the GDU a\nd seek to use to contain Kendi's idiocy. Kendi runs foreign wars while letting SWift and fascists rampage across their." "Indeed, the withdrawal of our armored division has been delayed by Fascist attacks on the infrastructure. Our U-boat and torpedo ships have been attacked by Swift's fascists.

Off the cape, Torpedo Ship Rottweiler came near the shore... "I wish we could go out to deeper waters, Captain." "But with a hurricane brewing, we may need to hit port." A compromise. "Engineering, this is the captain. Increase speed to 90% of maximum capacity." The Rottweiler lurched as it sped forward. "This way we should be able to make Arctic Base a day early. Additionally, the colder waters help reduce the force of hurricanes." "Ensign?" "Yes, sir." "Radio Little Chicago and tell them of our plans." "Ten minutes later."THe change is fully authorized, sir. They began turning ...

Along side the shore, trees suddenly crashed to the ground. A Battery of hidden field guns opened up on the 'Rottweiler'. Three shells struck the ship, Without even being ordered, disaster parties and gun crews swung into action. A Pom-Pom crew depressed their AA guns began the artillery positions and three field guns exploded when their ammo carrier was hit. Then two more shells hit the stern of the ship. And it was engulfed in flames. A frantic radio. message was intercepted by a light house weather station on the Tekno Republikan coast. The message was relayed both to WArGlorian and Tekno Republikan. "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK BY UNKNOWN COASTAL ARTILLERY of east cape of TRansvaal. WE ARE ABANDONING SHIP AND RESCUE FORCES IMMEDIATELY."

A New Age
Aclusia City
The Senate Building
January 30, 1896

The Government of Aclus had changed while Aclus stayed idle, gone are the days of the Supreme Chancellors, now the age of the Kaisers had begun. Embracing the old golden age of the 1st Aclusian Empire, where corruption was unheard of, Chancellor Marcus Ragnusius II created a plan with those loyal to his cause. Armed and elite shock troops known as SturmTrupen, stormed the senate building, following the Executive order 99 (66) to remove the senators of their positions. Riots broke out everywhere in uproar to this but were quickly put down when the now King George III (Marcus renamed to his grandfathers name) let out a speech to his people how Aclus may now no longer need a senate and that there would be absolutely no corruption in this country.

All the while, shock troops were sent to guard places where potential rebels of the Empire would hide.

Outside Kurbuchev Manor
Karkarov Hamlet

8 February, 1896

‘… Captain Yilmaz, and finally, Lieutenant Captain Deniz. The seven officers just named are confirmed to have been killed in the bombardment. All seven were members of General Aslan’s staff. Twenty-six others were wounded and remain hospitalised in casualty clearance stations,’ concluded the commissioner.

‘No doubt the Arenginian bombardment was in response to our grand cannonade. They must've been targeting the Marshal and the others. They must have spies amongst us or else how would they know about the manor?’ demanded Lieutenant Sarilar; no one in present company objected, so he continued, ‘I’ll go see the generals. I’ll start with General Aslan; after all, the seven who died in the Kurbachev Manor were put under his charge.’

He paused. Finally, he thoughtfully said, ‘They’ll want to know that they must have new headquarters. This time, hopefully, they’ll have it a bit further from the front.’

The bombardment continued through the day and through the night since Adlersky. Following the manor's bombardment, al-Morvern's artillery pieces were retasked to engaging their enemy counterparts in heavy counter-battery fire. When the enemy howitzers and other long-range artillery pieces had been silenced, they returned to the cheery task of razing entire districts to the ground.

Now, through the whizzing screeching of artillery shells, through the tremors that shook the earth below as the shells slammed into the ground, and through the never settling dust clouds came a shout. A despotic order for the bulk of the 12th Army to move into the city and take it for the glory of the Sultan. The order spread through every regiment like wildfire in the form of trench whistles and more roaring.

Soon, tens of thousands of men climbed out of their trenches and charged into the dust cloud. Every twenty seconds, a series of shells—shells launched by light mortars and howitzers alike—landed in front of them. Everything in front of them was already obliterated from the previous day’s bombardment; what the creeping barrage hoped to accomplish was to soften up any defences that might have been set up since. And whatever stragglers were left from all the shelling, they’d be bayoneted and shot by the advancing infantry regiments.

Image

Motovilikhinsky wasn’t the only city district to see such intensive infantry action. Two others were simultaneously attacked by tens of thousands of men in an identical fashion. All three districts were situated at the edges of the town, and all three would be an easy take for the advancing Morvernian army. What worried the Marshal and the generals—and particularly General Aslan, who was charged with leading this upcoming phase of the assault—was the inner city districts. There were many reports of these districts being turned into heavily fortified positions that even the massive Morvernians artillery barrages wouldn’t be able to bring down. The enemy had dug in too deep for shelling to have much of an effect.

The Marshal travelled to Constantinople the day before the assault to confront the civilian government there. The Grand Emira Pasha, who was the head of the government, dismissed the Marshal’s concerns while citing al-Morvern’s racial superiority to that of the Sultanate’s enemies. The Marshal tried to reason with her and once again reiterated the fact that Karkov could easily be circumnavigated, pushed into a pocket and ignored while the 12th Army moved to secure the rest of the valley. But she wouldn’t have any of it. So the Marshal returned by train the following day and gave the order for the three districts to be simultaneously attacked.

Karnopol. Karkev districts outside the walls.

The bombardment had been furious, the last several days the Arenginians had seen much death and destruction. The evacuation had been completed and all ships were off, the Morverian navy was close upon the port as Arenginian burned every possible entrance for the Afrikan ships. Food was being rationed as well as ammunition. The howitzers had been destroyed in the last enemy barrages and only two 18 pounders remained.

Many soldiers had died from the barrages, about 1,300 had died. Now there were only 21,000 soldiers left. They were all well hidden inside the tunnel networks as well as fortifications. The wall resisted the barrages although it had two wide gaps, both had been secured with sandbags and wood barricades. It was obvious an attack was coming as the Arenginians prepared their rifles and the 18 pounder cannons.

Outside the walls there was the first line of soldiers, hiding in the rubble and debris of the fallen buildings, many bloodied and their uniforms stained and dirty. They prepared their rifles as they heard the Morverian cannons stop and the soldiers slowly advancing. The sound of footsteps on bricks and glass became louder and louder. The Arenginians kept ready. There was fog that day, it was still early morning. The Arenginians hadn't had much sleep in days, and the Morverians knew it.

Through the smoke a young soldier saw it, a Morverian soldier, in his typical blue and red uniform as thousands more advanced behind him. At first the Arenginian grew nervous as he began to squeeze the triguero of his rifle. He closed his eyes in fear as the soldiers kept moving.

"Both eyes open..." The Arenginian said as he then pulled the trigger. A loud shot was heard as the Morverian soldier fell to the ground with blood on his chest.

"There they are, open fire!" An Arenginian yelled. All soldiers began to shot, hidden in the rubble and what was left standing of the buildings. The Morverians tried firing back but the Arenginians were quick shots as they mowed down several soldiers. The screams from the Arabs dying was frightful but the Arenginians kept shooting.

The Morverians kept coming in waves, stepping over their dead comrades. Soon they began to fire back, killing many Arenginians up in the buildings. Blood all over the white rubble.

At the other gap there was the two 18 pounders. As soon as they heard the first shots of their comrades they began to fire infantry shells. They killed many Morverians, the two cannons kept a pattern, one shot and began to reload, when it was about to be ready the other cannon shot its shell. The pattern continued until a grenade was thrown by the Morverians and one of the pounders was destroyed. The Arenginians soldiers began to shoot back from the walls as the last artillery team kept firing shell after shell.

There was chaos. But given the circumstance, that was a given. The fog hadn't lifted, nor did the men's spirit as they fired salvo after salvo at the enemy. The Arenginians didn't give way. They returned the Morvernian salvos more fiercely and passionately, demoralising the Morverians who kept throwing themselves at the Arenginians human wave after human wave. The artillery kept supporting advancing infantry with creeping barrages, but even the thousands of coordinated shells did very little against the enemy fortifications. In the end, the famed Atılımydın was forced to call off the barrages, believing that the shells were wasted on the deeply dug trenches.

They had no choice but to stop and regroup. They would throw themselves at the enemy once more and unlike the previous waves, this would be different. General Aslan would see to it that it was. And so the human waves ceased, though light skirmishes continued throughout the day.

Internal Struggles and Flames of Nationalism

Postby The Greater Lands of Albion » Tue Jan 31, 2017 10:28 pm

Following the passage of conscription law applying to some southern provinces, the Kurdish people have started protesting outside their local government offices in Kurdish hamlets, villages and towns. The Kurdish Peoples Party is pushing for autonomy over their large home province.

The protests are drawing attention from throughout al-Morvern. It is unlikely that the Sultanate can continue to resist demands from the Kurdish Peoples Party. However, accepting Kurdish demands can inspire a greater sense of nationalism in other parts of the Sultanate, where the flames of self-government are already fiercely aflame, eating away at the central government's attempts of keeping al-Morvern together.

The Sultanate is currently considering all options available to it. In an effort to keep al-Morvern as one country, al-Morvern may be turned into a federally ruled nation, with power shared on the national, state (provincial) and local levels. Alternatively, it might grant autonomy to some provinces and ignore others, or ignore all demands for greater say in local assemblies and communities altogether.

One thing is certain: war has failed to unify a divisive society. The idea that the war with Arengin has less to do with patriotism or indeed the resources of the Valley of Babloun, and more to do with the government trying to consolidate its power and make itself more present in the people's lives, is gaining traction. The General Assembly of the Sultanate of Al-Morvern have vowed to discuss the Sultanate’s future with serious reflection. The government will also work with lawmakers to decide on the best course of action.

war...

There was no declaration, only the sounds of boots smashing on the ground as troops marched off to fight. There was no inspiring speech, the thought of destroying what the NCSU wanted to destroy in the 1870s was already inspiring to the masses of soldiers in a disturbing way. On the subject of the eyesore built by Arengin people, it was pounded and pounded by the largest artillery pieces in the NCSU.

On the Sibir Colonies, troops also marched, with them were great airships with hwatchas on them. Respecting the treaty, Eaka draws manpower, and sends them off to the east coast of Arengin. In the Martyr's sea, sea based hordes of transports are sailing towards the Arengin coastline in said sea.

Battle at Karnopol

The waves had ceased, at least for the time being. Skirmishes then and now but never anything major. Colonel Makarov ordered the men to remain in line and the garrison began to check for ammunition, as well as moving the bodies of their fallen comrades away. Some cried others kept silent as they stacked the bodies near the barricades. Only about 14,000 defenders remained, the shelling and the attacks had taken a toll. The East gap was filled with bodies of Arenginian soldiers near the entrance, but it didn't comapre tot he amount of Morverian soldiers laying dead on the rubble.

However, not all defenders were combat capable, many were injured and remained in the cathedral and the market square. Hundreds of soldiers being attended by the small amount of medics and doctors who had decided to stay behind. The preacher and the nuns had also remained behind and were tending to the wounded.

At the west gap, the three remaining artillery men, Sasha, Homer, and Vasil. Sasha was a young soldier, no more than 18 who had his eyes scarred with the horror of battle. Homer was a tall, bulky, and bearded man who had his hand bloody and probably fractured. Vasil was a 20 something man who had a beard like homer and a very war torn face like his compatriots.

The entire perimeter was filled with bodies of Arenginian soldiers and only they remained. Soon more riflemen arrived and began to set up defensive positions up in the fallen walls and small trenches. The trio was sharing cigarettes as they awaited another attack.

Soon the sounds of soldiers were heard from afar as the artillery men and the soldiers prepared their positions. They could see massive flames coming from within the mist.

Tubuska Line

sound of war...

The attack of the Ruskland's was a surprise to everyone, the shelling kept pounding on the massive structure as Arenginian soldiers all over moved to attend the pom pom guns and anti infantry cannons and machine guns. The sounds of alarm was heard all around the wall as the artillery positions from a mile away began to set up to return fire on the NCSU territory.

Soon the Arenginian defense was firing back with all it had, the smaller walls and fences NSCU had constructed were no match as shells fell on them and Arenginian fired machine gun fire and anti infantry shells at the defenders from inside the wall's towers and positions within.

NCSU artillery managed to eliminate a few towers and hit several parts of the wall but ut was too narrow for them to hit it accurately, as well as for Arenginain artillery to hit the NCSU walls and positions with accuracy.

Soon word spread as telegrams were sent to all members of the GDU and to the King about the attack.

To all GDU members and people of the world. The NCSU has attacked the Tubuska wall. I repeat. The NCSU had attacked the Tubuska wall.

As the battle progressed and the day dragged out, the fog settled even more. This had the effect of lowering the men's spirit. Fogs were widely known to benefit the attackers. The fact that the Arenginian fortifications and trenches were left standing was a great deterrent to their morale. But then they saw General Aslan appear through the fog. The name Aslan translates into lion in Morvernian. And the Morvernians seeing their lion-hearted commander appear on the field of battle gave them great courage. But that was not all that would shift the balance of the battle. 'Men of the 153rd,' General Aslan roared into the field, his voice carrying over the chaos of the field, 'Charge!'

And a number of men with came into sight. They wore heavy coats and carried gigantic backpacks on their backs made of metal. Their faces were obscured by fierce looking gas masks. They were part of an elite regiment of troops. The men of the 153rd were often equipped with the latest and most experimental weaponry and equipment available to the modernised Morvernian army. This infantry section proved that.

The fog obscured the infantry squad from the 153rd Special Rifles Regiment as they jogged towards the enemy trenches. Before long, the infantry section was upon the enemy like the devil. They were only noticed when, through the rod of metal attached to their metallic backpacks, great flames poured out and engulfed the enemy trenches, incinerating the enemy. It wasn't a complete success, however.

The flamethrowers were experimental and a number of them exploded upon use. Others were shot dead by the Arenginian defenders. But the flamethrowers, coupled with General Aslan's presence, was enough to inspire the Morvernians to push harder in their charge.

Image

They didn't stop when they took the western gap. They pushed to take the eastern gap, too. By now, the fog had lifted completely and so did the Morvernians' spirits after scoring their latest victory.

Cali got the message from Arengin and was furious, he was having a military defensive conference with John Smith, Derek Ferx, General Reeck, and Admiral Dreto.

Cali looked to Reeck and began yelling at him, "Get division 15-20 ready to get onto our boats, their going to support Arengin."

Divisions 15-20 were the closest to the coast and were ready to be sent to Tamir at anytime, it would not take much time to send them to support the Arengin defenders.

Cali then turned on Admiral Dreto "Get your boats together, leave my ships, the SS Rebellion and SS Halium, but go with the others, and divisions 15-20 to stop this menace."

Cali then turned around to the rest of his cabinent "THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO PASS. I want factory output at an alltime high, get the DOH moving around to find enemy agents, and begin to air propaganda all over the country."

Cali then turned back on Reeck "Move in on the remaining Communists, Monarchists, and Democrats, we need unity!"

Cali then sent a telegram back to Arengin

To: The Arengin
From: Cali Merui

The Halium Attack Fleet is being sent to aid you in this fight, as is division 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. Admiral Dreto and General Tyo are personally overseeing this operation. I wish I could send more troops, but I don't have the manpower

Battle of Karnopol

Battle.

West gap

"Keep on them Sasha!" Yelled Vasila s he fired his rifle at the Morverians while Sasha helped Homer load a shell. They fired, eliminating a whole squad of enemy soldiers who just fell over screaming in pain as their limbs flew off from the cluster shells.

The two men tried to load again, the flames of the metal soldiers came closer as they came out of different directions and incinerated entire trenches. Screams of the burning Arenginians could be heard from all over as the artillery team tried to hold the line.

Homer took out his pistol and fired at the Morverian soldiers incoming with their bayonets. Vasil was shot on the shoulder and began using the rifle as a melee weapon. The cannon was unusable as its loading lever broke off. Dozens of Arenginian soldiers who remained alive began to run back into the city as Morverian soldiers flooded the gap, some remained behind as the flames began to die down and some of tanks of them exploded. The other flame troopers retreated as more Morverian soldiers lead by an officer on
horseback charged.

Image

Vasil, Homer, Sasha and the other soldiers fought hard, almost like cornered animals. Vasil was then shoot on the head, his lifeless body in the floor. It soon became apparent the Arenginians were trapped as hundreds of Morverian soldiers began to flood the city and surrounded them.

Homer then signaled Sasha to lower his gun as did other soldiers who then surrendered to the exhausted Morverians.

East Gap

Things were not going well as well as more and more Morverian soldiers flooded the streets and began to assault the barricades despite the Arenginian riflemen on the balcony of the walls they kept coming and attacking. It was a hell on earth as the Arenginians fell back and fought with everything they could to hold the line.

They used their rifles as clubs, knifes, and big rocks to try and stop the advance. It was something awful and amazing at the same time. Colonel Makarov was present as well as he fired his pistol and used his sword to slash at anyone that got to close. They did not know the Morverians had breached the west side and were soon going to flank them.

Kilconney, Sphalek

The expedition was being prepared, comprised of a dozen troop ships. Each ship carried nearly 3,000 military personnel. Each ship also boasted a substantial armament, with four 6 inch guns, two Baker machine guns, and two 37mm Pom Pom guns. Their destination was the Polynesian territory of Zih, a small territory, sparsely populated, but rich with resources. And, with Manticore's booming industry and population, those were in high demand. As such, TF 62 was dispatched to claim the territory for the Empire. A force of 36,000 soldiers from the Sphalek Militia were preparing to set sail, comprised of two infantry divisions and an artillery brigade. They were not expecting much resistance but many of the soldiers had volunteered for the mission, as Sphalek was one of the most heavily populated provinces in the Empire. A new colony would mean room for their families and so the force had been put together. It sailed that night.

Manticoran Intelligence had intercepted the message and it was brought to Empress Catherine's attention. "Of course those DOGS would attack without warning. Send King Oswyn an offer of assistance."
"Ma'am, that would give away the fact that we can intercept their communications."
"Relations with them are bad enough as it is. If they think we're spying on them, they could decide to declare war on us."
"Maybe. But it is precisely because our relations are so bad that we need to offer them some form of support. If we can ease the tensions through cooperation, then we can stave off an even greater war perhaps indefinitely."

By the end of the day, a message was in front of King Oswyn

To: King Oswyn of Arengin
From: Empress Catherine of Manticore

I have heard of the cowardly attack on your nation by the NCSU and would like to first offer my sympathies over the casualties suffered. Secondly, I would like to offer the full military support of the Manticoran Empire. If you would accept my offer, I will have the RMN bombarding and blockading NCSU colonies and ports by the end of the week.
