Jurestist Secretary of Defense in Trouble[Open, MT]

Postby Jurestist » Thu Jul 28, 2016 9:24 am

This is a continuation of Commutation Dispute about what Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson did to end a small civil dispute(war) in Jurestist. His actions were secretly colluding with a foreign government to have them "fund and support" the separatists, but do things to make the people hate them and support the government of Jurestist as well as the JDF and JSU. The government see it as treason which is punishable by death in the country.

The Secretary of Defense did what he did to end what could have become a major civil war in the country.

This is open and you can respond as a news organization.

1.No Godmodding
2.No Troop Deployments

IC: The JSU found evidence that Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson colluded with a foreign government and got JDF and Civilians killed during the conflict in Sectors 50-59 to which the JSU issued an arrest warrant for Secretary Williamson who was away on Defense Department business.

Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson had heard about the arrest warrant that was issued for him and even though he had a JSU protective detail he knew they couldn't arrest him as long as he remained out of country as they had no jurisdiction in other countries as they were bound by Jurestist law to protect him while he was out of country. Little did he know the JSU agents that were assigned to protect him were given the okay to leave his side at anytime they wanted to and all, but two of his protective detail who knew that if they stayed they would be committing treason in the process. The JSU agents knew that, but were devoted the oath they swore to protect Secretary Williamson and that would be enough to get the off with a warning from the JSU Director. The other employees of the Defense Department were shocked that Secretary Williamson would do such a thing and his advisers were also shocked, but they were questioned by the JSU well all except Dean of Homeland Security Larry Barker which had people inside the Defense Department wondering if he set the whole thing up, but it was the fact that his position put him as the head of the JSU that it excluded him by proxy because if someone were going to do something this shady they wouldn't involve the one person who had the power to arrest and investigate him. The questions they were asking them were personal questions and they had to answer them under Jurestist federal law or they could be held until they answered the question(s).

With Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson jumping from country to country trying to secure a place to stay so he can make his case to the Jurestist federal government in front of the Council of Executives, him and the two JSU agents that were in his protective detail only stayed in a country for three weeks before leaving and going to another country and repeating the process every time they left a country. The JSU was asking other countries to hold Secretary Williamson, but all the countries that he was going didn't have extradition treaties with Jurestist and always denied the request when asked the JSU knew he was doing this on purpose, but couldn't guess as to what end because before any action could be taken against him he had an opportunity to prove his innocence before the Council of Executives though most times no matter how hard someone fought against a charge of treason they still rendered a guilty verdict.

Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson and his two bodyguards had flew to yet another country where they had heard about what his country had charged him with and the local news agency interviewed him as well as aloud him to stay for three months if he did the interview for the news. Which after thinking about it and coming up with an exit plan in case they tried to screw him over and then he agreed to their deal which gave him time to work on his defense for his hearing with the 47th Council of Executives to which had to be perfect or they would find him guilty. The news reporter came to his hotel room introduced herself and had her crew set up the camera and put microphones on him as well as the female reporter it took them a few hours to set everything up, but when they were done setting everything up the interview started.

{Interview Televised on International TV}

{Female Reporter}
[Reporter Emma Talbot]
Good evening viewers my guest tonight is Jurestist Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson, who's country has charged him with treason because of his actions in ending what could have become a civil war in his home country. Secretary Williamson can you tell our viewers about the reason why your country is doing this to you?

[Secretary Greg Williamson]
That's because Jurestist federal law states that it's illegal for someone within the government can't conspire with foreign governments concerning national matters which is what I did, but I didn't do it for personal reasons which was why the law was passed in the first place I did it because I didn't want to see my country descend into civil war which would have killed millions and now they want to say that I'm a traitor because I did what I thought was needed to save millions of innocent people in my country.

[Reporter Emma Talbot]
That's an interesting way to look at it, but I was talking with the lead JSU agent on the case and he's saying that you allowed a foreign country to side with a separatist group in your nation and carry out attacks that killed 2539 people collectively,

[Secretary Williamson]
That may be so and I am truly sorry that people died, but there deaths saved millions of others lives if the incident had been turned into a civil war and I have made arrangements for those people I paid money out of my own pocket to have a memorial built in their honor so their families can have a place to morn them and the whole country can remember them.

[Reporter Emma Talbot]
Well it's been nice talking with you, but it appears we're out of time so I want to thank Secretary Williamson for granting us this interview and we'll see you next time on "Speak Freely".

As the interview ended Emma Talbot and her crew left after packing up all the equipment and Secretary Williamson and his bodyguards checked the room for bugs which there were none and as the country's government had promised they allowed him to stay for three months which he did and continued working on his defense to the charge of treason.

After the interview Jurestist Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson left after three months as agreed and he had also run out of friendly countries to stay in so he had ordered his plane to fly to a disputed area between Jurestist and Northland Republic knowing that all warrants had to go through the World Council(UN) appointed government in the area which had it's own security force for policing the area, but Jurestist and Northland Republic had to provide for it's defense. The area was an odd mix of Jurestistian culture and Northlandian culture where the people there were happy and he knew he wasn't liked there seeing as he agreed with the Council of Executive's ruling that the area rightfully belonged to Jurestist and not Northland Republic. Which upon hearing that he was wanted by his own country they sent Knights to the area to protect him seeing as the WC appointed government would grant the extradition request. The goal of the knights was to get him on Northland soil, but while he welcomed a Contingent of Northland Knights making it hard for any of the WC Security Forces to get to him he didn't like the Kingdom of Northland Republic and he vowed never to set foot on Northland soil. Then the Northland Inquisition came and escorted the Knights away from the property being that the Inquisition was independent of the Crown and the Church, one of the Inquisition Agents made their intentions clear that they were there to see a peaceful resolution to the events at hand even though doing so would most likely see the Inquisition lose favor with the Crown.

Achieving a Sustainable Peace: The Jurestist-Northland Repub

Postby Jurestist » Sun Dec 18, 2022 5:35 pm

I had to end this because I couldn't leave it unresolved as a pet peeve of mine because every story needs an ending.

In 2016, Jurestist and Northland Republic were locked in a bitter dispute over the border area administered by the World Council appointed government. This conflict had been brewing for years, with no clear solution in sight. In an effort to avoid a full blown war, former Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson was called in to assist in the negotiations. He was eventually able to broker an agreement between the two countries, which withstood various forms of international criticism.
In 2017, the agreement was formalized and signed, with both countries promising to recognize their respective rights and abide by the decisions of the World Council. The agreement was a major breakthrough, as it marked the first time in history that a stalemate over a disputed territory had been peacefully resolved.

For the next few years, international bodies and local governments worked tirelessly to promote a peaceful, secure and prosperous relationship between Jurestist and Northland Republic. The World Council, in particular, deployed resources to the region to help build bridges between the two countries and ensure that the resolution was respected and enforced.

In 2021, Williamson was once again called to Jurestist to play a role in reuniting the two countries and solidifying the terms of peace. With his assistance and the hard work of many others, the resolution became a reality and the two countries were fully reconciled.

Finally, in 2022, Williamson was able to return home to Jurestist. He was welcomed as a hero, symbolic of a successful peace resolution, and was celebrated in both countries as a great mediator and leader. His work was instrumental in ending the conflict and he will forever be remembered for his contribution to giving the two nations a brighter future.
