The Aquidish Minister of Foreign Affairs was rather new to his job and this was his first major international conference. He was not inexperienced as he had been in other positions in government before and was certainly not new to politics. So far he had chosen to remain largely silent as the Kingdom had no real stake in anything discussed. However the outburst by the Ternacan delegate had shaken him into speaking his mind and the view the Aquidish government had on the matter.

"We all came to this summit in good faith and to show our people that diplomacy is the best way of solving our issues." He pauses and looks at the Ternacan delegate briefly before starting again. "However, what you have just done in threaten military action against everyone here; in addition to insulting another nation by claiming that it only cares about the value of it's currencies over it's people and the people of this world. This is unacceptable and I would ask that you apologize."

Foreign Minister Utley sighed while looking around the room. "Despite our colleague's outburst I am inclined to agree with him on one point. The Aquidish government cannot condone the tampering with of a sovereign state's election. However I don't think that it what is being discussed here. We are discussing how this election could effect all of our nations, particularly our economies." Peter looks down at his notes and then back up. "I think what happened to the Bejari after the collapse of the Asuran Socialist Union was a crime. A crime which can be investigated and justice meted out. I propose that a multi-national panel be convened to investigate the claims this candidate has made and if possible bring those who participated to justice. Banking fraud is not tolerated in Aquidneck and I know my government will have an internal investigation into any allegations brought against our banks in this matter. I Thank you for your time and hope my proposal will be considered." With that Peter sat down and took a drink from the water glass in front of him.

The Terncan President nervously chuckled a little bit, realizing he might have endangered Ternca on the diplomatic scene. "To all the representatives here I am extremely sorry, I did not mean to say I would start military action against a fellow nation of the world. Our fine nation and never do such a thing", he stated nervously. "It's just the scale of the crimes in Bejarstan , trillions stolen , millions dead and starving just for some money for bankers. It enrages you to a point where you lose reason. I don't wish to offend or threaten any nations at this fine summit , and I am very sorry. As for other matters I agree with the Aquidish statement that we should hold a investigation on this conference. I would like the Terncan Government to be a key player in this investigation, as we have expertise on this land. We have already prosecuted all banking crimes related to Bejarstan and watch our banks very closely". The Terncan President quietly walked out to get some water. During the whole speech he looked clearly embarrassed and nervous. He told himself to stay more calm.

Foreign Minister Clakton received the go-ahead from Tilman and stood up. "We in Terton accept your apology and will not hold it against you. As for the Bejari affair, we can understand how you feel about that and why you lost your temper. If necessary, we will do all we can to help in this investigation and ensure that justice is done and the Bejari begin to live happier lives. We are met here to better the people of the entire region, are we not?"

Vice president Snowi Verisford stands up. "Can't you people see?! If you are the let these people have there way in allowing any candidate and having that candidate win then not only us, but the entire country will lose even more jobs!" He regains his breath and clams a bit down. "Atleast we should be able to tell the citizens about it. Allow us to advertise there and in other places and then I feel we'll be on our merry way."

Charles Vauban had remained silent for most of the summit, preferring the more involved nations to take a more active role in the discussion of the Krieslen-Terton border and Northwestern isles. Besides voicing support for a referendum, he had said very little. With the onset of the Bejarstan discussion he began to sweat a little, it was his turn to take the floor. After a short whisper to two of his delegates he rose to his feet.
"Of course Aeia should accept the new Presidential candidate for Bejarstan with open arms, after all if we did not, how can we claim to uphold the values of democracy we uphold in Asura and the MSTO." The Prime minister paused for a second, struggling to find the correct wording. "The problem is, we don't know how far this rabbit hole goes. If this new President goes ahead and nationalises all foreign assets we could see devastating consequences for the wider Aeian economy." Vauban picked up a paper from his desk, reading off its contents. "Our reports could suggest that if this nationalisation and asset seizing were to go ahead, not only would Bejarstan be negatively effected due to wider economic issues, but so would the economies of the west. Food banks, Unemployment, bank bailouts, these are not things we wish to see any time soon. Who knows how many companies and individuals have benefited from this agreement? Such information would not be available until the deed is already done."

Placing the paper down, the Prime minister took a sip of water, his lips were dry after his speech; the audience listening made him especially nervous, it was his first summit after all. "Furthermore, the candidate in question has only talked of 'removing foreign influence'. As far as I can see it there is no distinction for foreign companies operating legitimately within Bejarstan. How can we be sure that those with legitimate investments and projects will not be unfairly burdened by the actions of others?" The Prime minister sat down, his speech finally finished. Awaiting the response of his counterparts he took a long gulp of water, effectively finishing his glass, after which one of his ministers gesticulated to the staff for a new glass to be placed in front of the Midrasian PM.

Tilman rose again. "It seems that either way we decide, there will be great economic failure for somebody. I'm not entirely sure who, exactly. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, I am still convinced that we must support justice and find out who is wrecking Bejarstan's economy for their own benefit."

"I disagree with this proposed investigation into possible crimes in Bejarstan" Raymond said, rising from his seat "What's done is done and reopening those old wounds can be extremely damaging for many people. The Crime against Bejarstan was a multi-national effort to secure oil and funds, so forcing the people responsible for it to face punishment can, as I have said, be damaging as many still hold significant positions of economic power"

"Old wounds?" cried Kristine Mathew, rising from her seat before the Chancellor could stop her. "If we are to believe anything that has been mentioned at this summit, the people of Bejarstan are suffering now, and we must help them. If oil is what you're worried about, I can help you move away from oil and to other energy sources, once that don't force you to go burrowing through another sovereign nation's territory."

"I think you'll find Newrey and the worlds economy is quite content on the continued use of oil, so moving on from it is not a plan of my government" Ray,on shot back "and by burrowing, I assume you mean the legal ways in which companies from Newrey have been extracting oil from Bejarstan, or perhaps you've missed the efforts our companies have made to make the lives of its Bejari workers easier, providing meals and housing"

Brachvieca stood and called the room to order.

"I believe that is enough discussion. Clearly things are getting heated, but ultimately this is a matter for the Bejari people to decide, so let us move onto the final tabled discussion: treaty organisations, their membership and goals. Would any representative of a nation belonging to such an organisation like to begin?"

The Terncan President stood up"I would like to see the formation of a economic, and military bloc of left leaning countries. This bloc would help our economies grow, while improving our defense from countries that may be interested in our resources, and plan to take them by force. It shall be called AULLC(Aeian Union of Left Leaning Countries)".

"On the contrary" interrupted Vauban standing to address his audience. "The Mutual Security Treaty Organisation exists to defend the nations of Aeia which subscribe to values of democracy and freedom. We are not an offensive alliance, with our only aim to preserve the way of life and culture of our member states. Our only principle is an attack on one, is an attack on all. The arsenal of democracy seeks only to defend not to destroy."
The Prime minister took another sip of water, public speaking always made his lips dry.
"Membership of the MSTO is open to all democratic nations as a deterrent against those who may wish expand their domains. Although the MSTO is nothing more than a defensive alliance, many other organisations exist to bind our democratic nations together through economic and social means. The Asuran Council is open to any democratic nation on the continent of Asura. We seek to provide an avenue for greater trade links, the better integration of our Asuran nations and to prevent the outbreak of war which has so dominated the history of our continent in the past. In fact, the Asuran council is looking to open its first session very soon."

Upon sitting down it was evident that the Prime-minister had been sweating profusely throughout his time at the summit; the Prime minister behind closed doors was so different to the smiling, confident face displayed before the worlds media, adorning the television screens of the denizens of Midrasia and Asura.

Foreign Minister Utley stood up quickly to get his piece in. "I very much support the work of the Asuran Council and I hope that my government will send an ambassador to it. However I think we should form an overarching council for all the nations of Aeia to discuss issues like we are here. Perhaps the various continents can have sub-councils underneath the Aeian one? This council would not take sovereignty from our nations but would just be a place for us to come together when there are issues and talk about them so that we can prevent war and conflict." Peter looks around the room hopefully at everyone. "As for military alliances, my government is looking into all the options available to us and will make known its preferences in due time." With that he sat back down.

Mrs. Stevenson and Mr. Bush quickly exchanged a glance at the mention of treaty organisations. Each took this as the others indication that the other should speak, so both made a move to stand. Halfway up they realised that both of them stood up would be awkward. Both of them sat down immediately. This was followed by a few awkward minutes of each of them gesturing that the other should stand. Eventually Mrs. Stevenson stood. "Ohen has long been looking for a group of nations to ally within outside of the Imperial Dominion. As such Ohen wishes to express it's interest in becoming a member of both the MSTO and the AC. Both seem like upstanding and righteous organisations." She sat with a glance and a signal for Mr. Bush to speak should he so wish. Mrr. Bush rose slowly. He looked around the room smiling, he let his smile fade before he bagan speaking. "Ohen is also seeking to further it's ties with other nations individually through either: free trade agreements, mutual defence pacts or military alliances. Ohen would also like to offer food and military aid to any nations whom need it. All nations will be recieved by Ohen equally." He took his seat and glanced at Mrs. Stevenson, the two shared a quick chuckle over the awkwardness that occured moments earlier.

([OOC] - I'm looking to maybe RP some alliances, trade agreements, relief aid efforts to whomever is willing to participate. [nation=short]Vrnallia[/nation] mentioned in RMB that you have no army. Ohen has a specific foreign peacekeeping/defencive force, specifically for nations like yours, should they need it. Also, Ohen's navy is its strongest military asset and would be glad to help out any nation in any upcoming RPs.

Also, with the map changes being made Ohen may no longer be in Asura, so may not be able to become part of the Asuran Council.)

The Terncan President opened his mouth. "I would also like to see Ternca joining MSTO, it would be a great deal to help us improve our relations. We could also carry out operations in Sangalsh where the situation looks to be unstable. Also Ternca would like to sign trade deals with various nations to further improve our economies". He nodded and sat down.

"It is a but risky to announce your intention to undertake operations in Sangalash, especially under the pretence of the situation unstable. Simply being part of the MSTO does not give a country the right to intervene, especially as you'd lack any international backing" Raymond said, remaining seated

"The MSTO has no desire to see the breakup of Sagalash, the grabbing of such territory would merely result in further territorial disputes and nationalistic violence across Aeia. Besides, the situation in Sagalash shows no sign of worsening. Yes there are tensions, but a repeat of the 1980s is not on the agenda Mr Adam." Vauban's adviser whispered a quiet word to the PM. It was clear the conference was about to finish up and items of other importance where now finding themselves at the top of the agenda.
"I'm certain the Sagalan military and the police department will successfully deal with the current ethnic tensions. Mr. Pëdërëh, you can also be assured that Midrasia and the MSTO stands behind your governments efforts to clamp down on these troublemakers."

Adrian Harper stood, he had been mostly quite having only spoken once. "Esteemed delegates and honourable heads of state, if we are still discussing treaty organisations Bunar may have an interesting offer for you all. For many years now we in Bunar have attempted to expand the Corporate Alliance. We have in many cases been succesful, in the case of Bejarstan, Dentawi and Campagnies. Many companies in these nations have either moved their HQ or opened new offices in Bunar. Some of these nations have also offset their national debt against the Talit, one of Aiea's most consistent currencies! Furthermore, several of these nations have allowed the Corporate Alliance to take over control or assume management of several national resources."

"So, I invite you to embrace the future and allow your peoples to profit. Come open your doors to the Corporate Alliance or join with us. You will not look back in anger and you will not be disappointed."

Pëdërëh shifted uncomfortably in his seat and conferred quietly with his aide before addressing the room.

"The situation in Sagalash in stable. MSTO need not worry about intervening in our internal affairs, nor need any other organisation. We will, as always, remain ahead of any terrorists who plan to disturb the peace within Sagalash."

"To the representative from Bunar: while joining your Alliance is not on our minds for the moment, we would be very interested in expanding business in your country, and allowing your country to expand its business in our own. We shall speak with you after the summit, if it pleases."

Chancellor Tilman rose. "As Sagalash is a sovereign nation, I suggest that we hear what they have to say, and not offer unwanted help. We need only look to history to know that that seldom goes over well. As for other organizations, Terton would be interested in being part of the MSTO. We believe that it could bring much peace to Aeia, and also provide a place to settle international disputes without having to resort to war. Some of those dispute have been addressed here, but none have really been settled."

The Summit reached its end, and Brachvieca stood for one final time.

"I wish to extend thanks to all representatives who have been present today on behalf of Vrnallia and the Aeian Community. This marks the end of the Summit, so if all delegates could leave in an orderly manner, transport should be waiting already to take you back to the airport..."

He joined the delegates on the ferry back to Dvrieska and bid them farewell at the port of Njalgu. There he lingered long enough to watch the first planes leave his country, before reembarking the ferry and returning to Mlekie.
