Today, by order of Ayame Khan (May she live forever), the borderlands are to be militarized and fortified to better protect against southern barbarians. Ayame has ordered the contruction of new battle stations on The border and on the Imperial side of The Beta Quadrant Neutral Zone. Ayame declared that "If The JSA and Terrans try to pick a fight with the Celestial Empire, they will not want to once the boarder border is prepared. As The Terrans have taken control of the JSA, it is that a Steel Curtain has descended over the Southern Galaxy."

After reports of the Hyperborian Khanate increasing their military presence along their borders, the Governor of the worlds that make up the colonial body of New Sanctuary is extremely worried about what this will mean for the stretch of colonies that happen to be extremely close to the border of the Khanate. On some maps, the Khanate's territory complete encompasses the planets. Military vessels and army detachments are being moved to the colonies to watch for any enemy movement towards the planets. In a statement by Commander Jason Vasquez, he stated that any Khanate forces moving towards the colonies will be warned and if they happen to enter the Buffer zone that separates the colonies from unclaimed space, they would be fired upon. There are also rumours about the illusive Cypers operating in the area, but the reports about these mythical soldiers remain speculative and far-fetched...

To the Hyperborian Khanate,

It is, with our understanding, that your maps have your territory completely covering a couple of our systems.

It is our stance on this matter that the Hyperborian Khannate, or Celestial Empire, or whatever name they have chosen for themselves at the moment, is fully within their rights to fortify their borders in whatever way they so choose, provided they remain within their own territory and do not seek to fortify other peoples territory against their will.
We do, however, take exception to being referred to as 'southern barbarians' by a race which sees fit to slaughter the populations of worlds in shortsighted colonial adventures on the whim of a jumped-up strumpet with a Napoleon complex, although attaching the name of that man to such as her is an insult to the mans memory, as he no doubt turned his grave at the ham-handed tactics of the Hyperborian expansion efforts, and at their ignominious defeats.
If the Russian Empire had dealings with the Khanate at this time we would see fit to cut off our trade at this juncture, however, as we do not trade with them or have any official political relations, we shall settle for expressing our displeasure in this format.

Thus began preparations to reinforce the three fleets that had been sent to protect the colonies. The fleets sent were lightly armed, meant more for fighter suppression and anti-frigate defense than anything else. The fleet was already arriving at NPB Beta, the first planet of the colonized worlds, with a small detachment heading for SPB Beta. A much larger ComFleet was launched, but wasn't expected to arrive for a day or so. This combined fleet included three DVTs and a host of other ships, including a detachment of Cypers. Yes these soldiers existed. Along with the marine companies and support troopers, they made up a formidable fighting force on the ground. However, if the DVTs didn't arrive in time, the contingent of early-action marines on their way to the scene may be facing some terrible odds and, unfortunately, may end up completely destroyed...
