Charon's Curse (Doom-Inspired RP, FT, OOC, Signups)

Postby Ponyi Meridia » Sun Jun 19, 2016 6:53 pm

Founded by a man of mysterious intent,
But seemingly breaking from damnation.
A revolution breaking apart chains of greed,
The rebels of Aether form the Federation.

Led by empty promises of prosperity,
The foolish mortals dare march into the Rift.
The Hayden Federation aims to find power,
But instead their people are lost in the drift.

Time flies by, and hopes of return seem lost,
But the vessel of the lost comrades come back.
A rescue team is sent to establish contact,
and instead they find a plague worse than black.

The vessel wanders along an unknown path,
and the Federation relays words of great gloom.
They warn not to approach the ship of demons,
But the greed of people attracts them to doom.

It's no secret Hayden was after great power,
After all, from the Rift arose the Golden Hand.
Even with demons among the derelict ship,
People from all walks of life plan to expand.

It's like a whisper among the horrific screaming.
Yes, a whisper calls out to the curious factions.
Whatever the power hidden within the ship is,
Armies plot to steal this power for their legions.

The factions dare not march in with full force,
For rumors have it others have dared to try.
Soldiers will approach from distance in squads,
Lest the entire armies and their hopes will die.

The journey into the zombie ship won't be fun,
And the likelihood of teamwork is rather slim.
The sake of the mission is a rather delicate one,
And the risk of betrayal is both high and grim.

The squads will be consisting of the best elites,
Men and women seemingly born for this danger.
It is certain that by the time everyone is done here,
The few remaining heroes will be rife with anger.

The invaders of this ship anticipate these warriors,
For their ultimate plans contradict their survival.
The demons watch them arrive and smile with glee,
None of the trespassers will even get to see revival.

Unlike the Biblical tales that everyone hears of Hell,
Where the damned die and come back for more pain,
There are no second chances when dealing with Satan,
Meaning there will be plenty of death and little gain.

However the Devil likes to see mortals working together.
To make things interesting he is willing to accept sacrifice.
For those who offer their own lives for Saint Lucifer's mercy,
He will let another live for a time, as the martyr will suffice.

The sacrificial lambs must excercise extra caution,
For the overall squads entering the ship are quite small.
If too many of their people succumb to the wrath of Hell,
Then their efforts are for nothing, and the mission will fall.

Worst of all the demon-possessed ship is heavily damaged,
And fragments of the beast are not even within this reality.
To reach the missing sections, portals to Hell are required,
But as the troops press on, they will surely slip into insanity.

Welcome to the Charon's Curse roleplay, which is inspired by my own fun playing Doom and Quake games. This is a unique roleplay different from any other I've hosted. In this game, players will take control of a squad rather than a large army. You may enter the game with only a single character, but I strongly recommend using a squad, and at the maximum number of soldiers too. You may try working with other players, or resort with fighting through the demon-infested ship on your own. There's a small catch here unlike my other roleplays as well:

In the event none of the heroes die within a page of the thread, the next post I make on the other thread will have a character killed off with red text highlighting their death. This will be averted however if one of the heroes die before this happens. Exactly who dies will be determined based on a list of names I've chosen to select along with a die I'll be rolling. It will essentially be a lottery with the "winner" receiving death. Characters who die will not be brought back to life, they may sometimes re-awaken as zombies, but they will be on Hell's side. Extra deaths within a single page will not change the rules, so don't go killing off several of your squad members at once.

Anyways: The goal of the game is to send in a small squad of elite soldiers inside Charon's Flagship. Charon is a commander of the Hayden Federation who was sent to the Rift in order to study more on demons and hopefully come back with a powerful artifact, whatever it may be. There is such an artifact on board the ship, and it's potential remains uncertain. Unfortunately, the demons have commandeered the vessel, and everyone on board is either dead or possessed. Information has leaked out from anonymous sources that Charon was last seen holding the artifact before the demons got loose. The treasure is no doubt on board the bridge, but the bridge section is missing! It might still be reachable, but only by first traversing the bowels of Hell...

While all this is happening, the remains Charon's Flagship for unknown reasons appear to be on a set course for the Meso System, despite the fact the bridge section is gone. If the Hayden Federation doesn't get around to destroying the remains of this vessel, the Meridese surely will. It's a lot better to lose the demonic artifact than it is to have a demonic invasion set upon a nearby planet!

Rules for this game:
1: No godmodding (unless you're me messing around with the "lottery system").
2: Speaking of the "lottery system", once a hero is dead, he/she is no longer able to help the squad. If still intact, his/her gear may be picked up.
3: No "essential characters." These are people who pretty much have godmode on. You may telegram me requesting for replacement troops, but whether or not I allow it will depend on a number of factors, mainly how will the replacement troops reach the squad currently alive.
4: The maximum number of troops allowed within a squad is four. It would've been higher, but I don't think the roleplay will go on for an exceedingly long time. The lottery system is in place because I want there to be a challenge along with some tension at play.
5: Don't go into excessive details about gore or sexual themes. Yes this is a Doom roleplay, but for the mods' sake let's not go too far.
6: Vulgar language is allowed, but don't get carried away with it. Nobody is interested in six paragraphs of F-bombs.
7: Don't do anything else that will attract the wrath of the mods. Nobody has fun when the mods are forced to come in.
8: This is all just a game, so try to have fun and not be overly offended.

I hope this doesn't come to anyone as an inconvenience... But I just remembered something I forgot to place in the application. People should enter a roleplaying example within their application so I may be certain on their ability to properly participate in this game of mine. I'm familiar with Novaya Equestria and trust they'll do fair enough in this roleplay.

Hetrica, I'm not familiar with you at all and while your factbook entries are interesting, I think a roleplaying example would be better. Please enter a roleplay example or two in your application and I'll get back to you.

P.S.: I'll be filling in my own application so I'm not stuck being a complete DM here. I'll fill out two applications actually: One for Ponyi Meridia and another for my more barbarian-style FT nation Frazetta.

Tagging. Also:

Name of Nation: Ponyi Meridia

Squad Member 1: Victoria Chase
Squad Member's race and gender: Meridese Human, Female
Weapons and equipment: Checkpoint Device, Meridese Bodysuit, Meridese Shotgun, Dual-Incendiary Blacktail Pistols, & Purpure Vision Glasses
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): This woman has proven herself difficult to kill even without use of the checkpoint device, though she has needed to use it at least twice in her life. It's for this reason the Meridese believe she is suited for an assault on Charon's flagship. Her exact goals are to serve as the leader of the squad, obtain the artifact Charon is rumored to be in possession of, and eliminate all resistance standing in the way of Meridia's progress. In terms of personality, Victoria is very impatient and is determined to get the job done quickly as possible. It's amazing how she can be so skilled at survival, despite being eager to charge so soon into battle.

Squad Member 2: Carly Omega
Squad Member's race and gender: Meridese Human, Female
Weapons and equipment: J-0 Shield, Meridese Bodysuit, Viral Phone, Classic Meridese Pistol, & Purpure Vision Glasses.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Another Meridese agent who cannot seem to die despite the odds. Her job history is classified given her role as a secret agent, and Omega herself isn't much for bragging. Whatever she has done in the past though, it was commendable enough to reward her with this high-risk mission. Her primary role is to obtain any information still remaining on board the damaged Hayden ship, in addition of course to obtaining the demonic artifact within the bridge. More specifically she's suppose to search for the former secret agents on board Charon's flagship prior to the demonic takeover, and understand what exactly went down here. Although the chances are doubtful, any secret agents still alive need to be brought back to Meridia alive, in hopes their memory of the situation will provide more data on what transpired.

Squad Member 3: Jazz "Bass Dropper" Winters
Squad Member's race and gender: Meridese Human, Female
Weapons and equipment: J-1 Shield, Bodysuit, Wub Rifle, Meridese Shotgun, Explosive Mines.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Despite never partaking in any military action prior, she has managed to influence the development of numerous technologies for the Meridese, thanks to sharing her creative ideas along with her love interest who just so happens to be military scientist. Her real life job is involved with politics, and she has been hoping to become one of the most influential leaders in government. When Samantha Sanguine took over as the supreme commander however, new political jobs became unavailable to anyone who didn't have an armada career thanks to the military coup. With the help of her lover, along with some of the shadier members of the Meridese military, Jazz has managed to get herself signed into the armada under the code name "Bass Dropper." Deliberately trying to boost her reputation, Jazz's associates managed to label her with a very intriguing "history." Due to this, Jazz Winters is now partaking in a mission far over her league, and she's having to run tests on a few of the very weapons and devices she and her soulmate developed!

Squad Member 4: Doctor Gertrude Mann
Squad Member's race and gender: Meridese Human, Female
Weapons and equipment: Healing Beam, Meridese Uniform (With Medical Labcoat), Meridese Crossbow, Meridese Combat Knife, & Purpure Vision Glasses.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Gertrude Mann is a doctor who is never willing to give up. She is so determined she trains herself in relying on very little sleep just so she may stay awake longer for taking on medical emergencies. It's amazing how her lack of rest doesn't interfere with her duties. It's for this reason the military officials feel she is well-equipped for this job. Gertrude Mann has agreed to this task, but only on the condition that the squad searches for any survivors to try and save them. The higher-ups don't believe such a scenario is likely, but if such did to come up she is authorized to assist them. In addition to keeping squad members alive and seeking out survivors, it is also her job to experiment on the abilities of the healing beam, a gun which is designed to heal rather than kill. To make sure Gertrude is capable of defending herself, she has been equipped with a wrist-mounted crossbow and a combat knife with a poisonous edge.

Name of Nation:

Squad Member 1: Captain Quarter
Squad Member's race and gender: Frazettan Human, Male
Weapons and equipment: Gauntlet, Frazettan Shotgun, & Hayden Federation Biosuit Armor.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Despite his intimidating appearance, Quarter is actually a lot friendlier than most Frazettans. Quarter has actually encountered a lot of battles with Demons in the past, which makes him perfect for the assault on Charon's Flagship. The captain has more scars than he would like to show, and that's saying something from a Frazettan. As such he is almost never seen without wearing a stolen Hayden Federation biosuit armor, no matter how inconvenient it may be to wear it. Despite his awkward appearance, his personality is just as human as the day he was born. It remains unknown to anyone just how Captain Quarter got his hands on a set of armor from the Hayden Federation.

Squad Member 2: Penny Harpy
Squad Member's race and gender: Frazettan Human, Female
Weapons and equipment: Blaster Pistol, Lightning Gun, & No Armor.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Penny Harpy specializes in two jobs: Being a Frazettan warrior, and being a reporter of the Frazettan Army News (FAN). In Penny's line of work, messing around is not at all an option. Thankfully, her constant need for making detailed notes as a reporter has helped her spot several death traps, enemy weaknesses, and even secret areas with great ease.

Squad Member 3: Sergeant Flak
Squad Member's race and gender: Frazettan Human, Male
Weapons and equipment: Grenades, Rocket Launcher, & No Armor.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): A mute soldier, he only understands nods for yes and no, along with how to use weapons. Flak prefers to let his weapons do the talking, and prefers doing so specifically with the loudest of them. His choice not to wear any armor despite his role as a demolitions expert is alarming, but at the same time honorable. According to the Frazettan religion, the strongest of beasts shouldn't be so dependent on unnatural armor to protect themselves. Sergeant Flak's preference of no armor at all is considered brave despite his role in the army.

Squad Member 4:Richard Texas
Squad Member's race and gender: Human, Male
Weapons and equipment: Axe, Hunting Rifle, & No Armor.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Not an actual Frazettan himself, but he's greatly admired their culture the moment he discovered them. He's tried establishing contact with them long ago back on his home planet of Demeter. The Frazettans thought he was crazy, and chose to ignore him. They would've killed him, but the Frazettans have better things to do than destroying the farmlands of people trying to get by. Disappointed, Richard tried getting their attention by murdering everyone in his village. He later got arrested, only to break out of Ares with a little luck and a lot of bloodshed. Texas then took off with his stolen escape craft to find the Frazettans. By the time he did, the Frazettans had learned and seen enough to consider Richard one of their own.

Name of Nation:(My FT Nation Name? I can't be bothered making another puppet. It's boring) The Irenton Alliance

Squad Member 1:Captain James Green
Squad Member's race and gender:Male. Vortexian
Weapons and equipment: Modified Vortexian Ranger gear. Vortexian Particle rifle. 4x Particle overloaders
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL):James Green was a relatively unknown name until recently. When he single handedly defeated the infamous Pirate Oden Schmidt and his crew. Coming out of the blazing ship unscathed. He was asked to join the Vortexian Ranger Corps. Being related to the Vortexian Field Marshall Timothy Green he was well liked by his superiors and he was known for keeping a cool head in life or death situations.

Squad Member 2:Lieutenant Caroline Schultz
Squad Member's race and gender:Female. Valk
Weapons and equipment:Modified Valkyrie Special Forces armor. Valkyrie Hand Cannon. 2x Valkyrie plasma blades.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL): Information Redacted by the VIA

Squad Member 3:Sergeant Carlos 'Sarge' Bland
Squad Member's race and gender:Male. Dauxite
Weapons and equipment:Dauxite NCO armor. Dauxite 7.92 Shotgun. 2x Dauxite Dynamite.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL):He was enlisted into the team because of his approach of 'destroy everything, File official reports later'. He pretty much speaks for this doctrine when he walks calmly through the enemy lines blasting anything he sees with his high powered shotgun. After being noticed by the Vortexian Field Marshall Timothy Green, he was asked to join the team to board Charon's flagship. He answered with a yes, so long as he gets to kill everything in sight, so long as they weren't on his side.

Squad Member 4:Corporal Ryan Hellfis
Squad Member's race and gender:Male. Vortexian
Weapons and equipment:Vortexian Ranger armor. Vortexian Photon Rifle. 3x Vortexian Plasma grenades.
Squad Member's Bio (OPTIONAL):Ryan was enlisted into the Ranger Corps the day he joined the army. He was the second best soldier in the army. When his records were entered into the mainframe he was immediately drafted into the Corps. He was one of the best candidates for the team. Despite being one of the Rangers who likes to go solo, he can still work well as a team. Especially when storming a ship full of deadly demons.

Good day,
this is very interesting. Would it be possible for a group of pirates to join in the merry search for the artifact?
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

Tagitty for now, app coming soon. Quick question: would we be allowed to try and blow up the ship instead of stealing the artefact?

I was going to say no, but come to think of it there are good reasons for why anyone would want to do that. (Giving Demons any amount of time to reach a planet and plague it while killing off trillions of innocent people doesn't sound all that pleasant.) Yeah, I suppose you can go ahead and try that. Just know the ship itself is actually broken up into separate pieces. The main piece is within the mortal realm, but all the other sections, including of course the bridge, are within Hell.

Why is the bridge in Hell? Simple: I don't want the search for the artifact to be too simple.

Joy joy. So how many charges would we need? My starting assumption was one to blow whatever's powering the ship and let the superstructure fall apart, but would that damage the parts in Hell? Because if not, I might have to take more explosives than I was expecting.

Also, how well do daemons survive in a hard vacuum? Sorry, I've never played Doom so I don't know how they work too well.

The ship's oxygen system were left activated.

Disclaimer: It's 23:10 over here, some of this may be a bit dumb. Still, here it is.

Name of Nation: The Star Kingdom of Spindle

Squad Member 1: Jason Zelos

Squad Member's race and gender: Human Male

Weapons and equipment: Jason is the scout of the team and is equipped accordingly with an Avalon suit boasting a Gen. V Spectre field generator, capable of upwards of ninety-two percent coverage. The power needed for such a large degree of coverage, however, precludes the inclusion of a plasma shield, although it does boast high-level gravitics and a basic EM field. In addition, a single Mosquito combat drone is linked into the suit, armed with a light MASER, senors and gravitics.

Jason's primary armament is a Caliburn Battle Rifle, firing 2G (gravitic/gauss) rounds. These combine to create the perfect stealth weapon, capable of firing with next-to-no noise and with projectiles capable of changing direction mid-flight. Combined with the versatility of payloads available, this makes the Caliburn a deadly precision tool. In addition, Jason also has a Stiletto sidearm, which is effectively a scaled-down Caliburn, and a Mors EM blade.

Finally, Jason has three nanny-grenades for more resilient targets, three suit seals in case there is a puncture the internal nanites cannot heal, a medipack in case Jason suffers from an injury his own nanites cannot heal and, as mentioned, a full suite of nanites to both heal and protect his body from biological, nanitical, and, to some degree, chemical and radiological attacks.

Squad Member's Bio: Born a Commoner into a Common family, Jason was certain from a young age that he wanted to become nobility and, born as he was in one of the habitats, he knew that the fastest route to that was through the Navy. Despite this, he actually ended up working as a habitat engineer before joining the Army and being assigned to a Monitor as a damage control Engineer.

Working his way steadily through the ranks, Jason eventually found himself capped at the rank of Captain. He wasn't a political schemer and to ascend above that rank required an ability to at least try one's hand in politics. Stubbornly refusing this, Jason eventually found himself shifted to one side, in an Interdiction Cruiser used to overhaul smugglers and the like and force them to submit to boarding actions. And then the Staff of Charon was discovered...

Squad Member 2: Juliet Adrasteia

Squad Member's race and gender: Human Female

Weapons and equipment: Juliet is the group's hacker and leader and so her Avalon mounts both a Gen. IV Spectre field, a full plasma shield and a decent level of gravitic capability. However, the main ability of the suit is the dozen Mosquitoes integrated into it, allowing her to aid her teammates while occupied with something else, and the ability it gives her to hack into something without using her hands, freeing them up for other tasks.

Where the others have firearms as their main weapons, Juliet uses her family's rapier, Velancy. Similar in design to a Mors, Velancy is capable of projecting a much more powerful EM field, as well as producing more plasma, which makes it a far superior weapon in everything except portability. She does also possess a Mors and a Stiletto, but she will rarely, if ever, use them.

Juliet also wields both dataspikes and datawire. While either of these can be used as weapons, in theory, they are actually used for gaining access into systems through physical means. Both a coil of datawire and a dataspike can enter into a circuit before fusing seamlessly into it and acting as an access point for further intrusion. This is generally best done with dozens or more of access points, but even one will do the trick in a pinch.

In addition to these, Juliet has two nanny-grenades for more resilient targets, three suit seals in case there is a puncture the internal nanites cannot heal, a medipack in case Juliet suffers from an injury her own nanites cannot heal and, as mentioned, a full suite of nanites to both heal and protect her body from biological, nanitical, and, to some degree, chemical and radiological attacks.

Squad Member's Bio: Juliet was born into House Eris, one of the longstanding, if minor, houses of nobility and was destined from birth for a life in the military. Growing up, she had always had a knack for computers and how to work her way around them and she rapidly managed to find her way into place online which her parents would have much rather preferred her to not get into. That was the start of her development into hacking.

By fifteen, her access to a number of QE nodes had gotten her into trouble as she merrily wreaked havoc on the cybersecurity of the Star Kingdom. Eventually settling down into a more respectable role, she joined the Navy at the age of eighteen, transferring to the Army less than a year later. Many people saw her attempts to slow down her own promotion as either some kind of perverse quest to prove that she was achieving her rank because of what she did or simply as a way to shirk responsibility.

Either way, she rapidly became renowned through the tightly-knit community of Espatiers for both her brutal efficiency and her scathing tongue and she soon found herself as the head of the Remorseful's complement. Which meant that, when the Staff of Charon was discovered, she was the first person able to scrape together a team to head onboard and blow it to bits.

Squad Member 3: Adrianna Selene

Squad Member's race and gender: Human Female

Weapons and equipment: Adrianna wears the most explosives on her body and her Avalon is optimised to protect her as much from her own explosions as anything the enemy does. Because of this it only mounts a Gen. III Spectre field but has a full plasma shield and decent gravitics, as well as a single integrated Mosquito. However, the most eye-catching facet of her suit is the bandolier which carries around the two-dozen nanny-grenades she carries into battle.

The other twelve pouches of the bandolier contain even worse: antimatter-doped nanesplosives. Although each slab of putty only contains a fraction of a gram of antimatter, they are each the equivalent of a kilotonne-yield nuclear device and can be shaped, split or combined in order to give Adrianna the yield of explosion which she desires. Beyond this, she wields a Carnwennan plasgun, which converts the atmosphere around her into a stream of plasma, as well as a Stiletto and a Mors.

As well as these, Adrianna also has three suit seals in case there is a puncture the internal nanites cannot heal, a medipack in case Adrianna suffers from an injury her own nanites cannot heal and, as mentioned, a full suite of nanites to both heal and protect her body from biological, nanitical, and, to some degree, chemical and radiological attacks.

Squad Member's Bio: I'll do this in the morning...

Squad Member 4: Thomas Ceraon

Squad Member's race and gender: Human Male

Weapons and equipment: Thomas provides the heavy firepower for the group and so his Avalon has an over-charged plasma shield and a sturdy set of gravitics but only a Gen. III Spectre field. The assumption is that the enemy can usually trace the stream of flechettes back to the owner anyway and it would be better to shield him than to increase the cycling on the Spectre. Thomas also boasts the heaviest combat drone with his Rex, fitted with a heavy MASER.

Thomas' primary weapon is the Rhongomiant, a gravitic squad support weapon. The Rhongomiant operates on one of two modes: burst or single. In burst mode, the weapon fires a more-or-less continuous stream of flechettes at relatively low velocities, which can tear through flesh and light armour alike but tend to be stopped by anything more substantial. Single shot mode simply accelerates the flechettes further in order to impart more damage. Either mode can use heavier or lighter flechettes to inflict more or less damage, and some heavier flechettes are deliberately hardened and equipped with an explosive payload in order to defeat armour.

In addition to these, Thomas has two nanny-grenades for more resilient targets, three suit seals in case there is a puncture the internal nanites cannot heal, a medipack in case Thomassuffers from an injury his own nanites cannot heal and, as mentioned, a full suite of nanites to both heal and protect his body from biological, nanitical, and, to some degree, chemical and radiological attacks.

Squad Member's Bio: Thomas was always an odd child. Towering over his companions in the playground, he had the stature of a school bully, yet he could be almost anything but. A bright and intelligent boy, he was sensitive and tried to never hurt anything or anyone, physically or emotionally. Sometimes his emotions slipped their leash and he someone would get hurt, but for the most part he succeeded and was considered to be the gentle giant.

For some reason he ended up joining the Army. He rose quickly to the rank of Sergeant, beyond which his mentality refused to let him advance any further. The wider scope of command required more than the helping hand which he was always willing to lend: it required the ability to knowingly and coldly send men to their deaths if need be and Thomas didn't have it in him to take that step. And so he remained a NCO and faded more and more into obscurity.

Eventually, he was assigned to the Remorseful, an Interdiction Cruiser, as part of the Espatier complement. It should have been just a routine rotation, one he came into and then left a few months later, with all of his limbs and a little more bored than when he left. But when the Staff of Charon was detected, all of that changed...

I can answer questions relating the the roleplay myself. While it is true what Novaya says about the oxygen systems being active, more importantly the Demons are using highly advanced technology that allows large, cut off sections of a ship to remain functioning with the others. So although the bridge is cut off, the captain in charge of the ship may still have full control over the functions, so long as the damaged systems remain intact, or repaired or replaced if needed. Basically, think of the entire ship as some evil Rayman character; nothing is really attached to that torso of his, and yet they all function as one.

Luckily, once a system is destroyed it remains unless until repaired. So say the ship is propelling itself forward to the Meso System right now, even though the engines are not attached to the main body part. If someone were to go through Hell however to reach the engines and blow those up, then Charon's flagship will be stuck in space, only able to move based on the orbit for which its circling around. In Spindle's case, destroying the oxygen systems will bring about the slow death of the Demons along with whoever else is inside the ship. There may be an exception if someone is wearing the proper space attire to let them survive in space long enough to reach an evacuation area, or if there are certain types of Demons on board not needing oxygen anyways.

I'd also like to note that while the main ship itself is in need of oxygen, the broken off sections do not. This is because those areas are located within Hell where there is oxygen. It would still be a good idea to destroy those systems though, if only to make traversing the main section of the ship slightly less dangerous.

Quick question: is my app accepted? Adrianna's not going to have a particularly interesting bio (since I can't actually think of anything other than the 'military family, military brat' story) so everything which could make my guys OP as fuck is already out there. I can explain and/or remove things at direction.

I mean, I'll probably protest if you tell me to not have the Avalon suits, but I'll remove them if you insist on it for whatever reason.

Sorry for being so slow everyone; I didn't expect the weekend to be crazy as it is. I'll have to create the IC thread before Monday. However I also want to take care of a few things before we actually begin, so again expect a few delays until these issues are taken care of.

I want to say yes to your application... but there are a few things that I have questions about. I won't lie: Your attention to all the scientific details, even if pseudo (I wouldn't know for sure, since I'm not that sci-fi savvy.), is immense. Not even I could possibly dream of reaching such efforts! With that being said though, there are a lot of things I do not fully understand. To me this makes some of these weapons and gadgets seem OP, and perhaps this isn't really the case.

I shall telegram you about what issues I have with the gear mentioned in your application, including the Avalon suits. I'm certain we can allow a lot of these techs including the Avalon suit, so long as I understand better how they function, and if there are any weaknesses or counters.

Personally when I work on such details for my factbook entries, I like to label not only the benefits, but also the faults of every trooper or weapon. This way my forces seem powerful, but they also have their own set of limitations. Aside from a few elite forces and commandos, no unit may truly take on an army by their lonesome. I think this need for noting ups and downs also makes the troops seem resourceful in a way, since all of the flaws are needing to be taken into account.

Thanks! For the most part it's science-science, with the exception of my counter-grav which is pure handwavium. But everything else works assuming the gravitics do!

And sorry for not putting the pros and cons of stuff in the factbooks. I just take them as a given, because I've spent so long thinking about what tech x means that I assume the implications are just obvious. I'll put that in when I find the time.

Aaaand my factbook updating schedule is set back by another month...

Bad news: The IC thread keeps getting delayed because of crap that keeps coming up, and I just can't keep promises.

Good news: I'm not giving up just yet! So everyone whose applications are already accepted, just bear with me. Please. Anyone who hasn't joined yet, and is wanting to, please fill out an application soon! Thanks.

I probably can't keep this promise, but I'll aim to get an IC thread up before Sunday! Again, please bear with me!

Bearing with, bearing with...

And am I officially accepted? I know you've done it by TG, but I'd just like to have something in here which I can point to when the IC goes up.

I've already added your name on the original post along with the names of everyone else participating.

The players in this roleplay are: Eodor, Novaya Equestria, Ponyi Meridia, and you Spindle. Frazetta's also in this, but they're a puppet nation of mine so it doesn't really count as an extra player. I'll accept other newcomers, but four players at the minimum seems good enough for this roleplay.
