Earth 3040: Sol Cold War

It's the year 3040. The Hive has been exterminated across the universe by the Uosok, a cyber Borg species that posed a threat to the Hive. A new race known as the Uosok has risen up to take the Hive's place to seize control of Earth and the Sol System. Deep in desert terrain of Saudi Arabia a tomb marked with the worded inscription "The War Master" was discovered by the Uosok which was to believed to be one of their own and there are more out there on Earth. Who is the War Master? There is a plot against Earth and the resistance force the United Star Rebellion that is headquartered in Botany Bay, Australia which their operations are based and with help of galactic nations outside Sol to help take back Earth from the Uosok. A large part of Earth is controlled by the Uosok. A stalemate has resulted between the two sides in Kiev, Ukraine. The Sol Cold War has begun and there is no telling telling how far the Uosok will go to seize control forcing the unconditional surrender of each nation or worlds falling under their own rule.

Resistance falls in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt

Postby Odinburgh » Wed Jun 22, 2016 11:46 am

Image

The resistance falls as the Uosok has taken the Valley of the Kings and their leader of 115th Sun Legion Force General Garmak has entered the ruins to find a precious crystal located in one of the tombs. It's is one of many crystals that will power a force field around planet earth enabling a powerful defense against the opposition. There are 4 other crystals located on Earth which have yet to be uncovered. Rumors the other Crystals could be in Greece, Mexico, the Amazon, in China somewhere near the Great Wall and in the Western Part of the United States. The resistance is rearming their armies to make an attempt to blockade Garmak's forces from leaving the valley while another resistance force division is located way south at Abu Simbel.

Resistance regroups at Abu Simbel

Postby Odinburgh » Wed Jun 22, 2016 11:59 am

Regroup at Abu Simbel

Image

In far southern Egypt General Enoch Folden of the Odinburgh forces with the United Star Rebellion are regrouping at Abu Simbel, way south of the Valley of the Kings where they have a camp there and awaiting reinforcements to arrive. They believe the Uosok next target is the ruins of Abu Simbel to search for five crystals that powers a planetary force field. There they have begun to lay plasma traps all across the desert to help slow the Uosok when and should they arrive.

Flarbinian Expeditionary Fleet Makes Its First Move

Postby Flarbinia » Thu Jun 23, 2016 10:38 pm

Luna. Sol System
"Admiral, we have arrived. Our strategy worked. Our experimental cloaking devices have allowed us to slip past their early warning systems undetected. Ready to kick the hornet's nest on your command." Commodore Abigail said as the ships powered up their weapons, crew members ready to unleash Hell on the Uosok moon base. "Like God did with Sodom and Gomorrah, we will wipe the galaxy clean of the Uosok." Admiral Sergei Ostermark shouted to his subordinates in a belligerent tone, the ships unleashing their full firepower on the moon base without mercy or hesitation, the bombardment creating a massive crater. "We have taken the Uosok bishop out of the equation. Now we must prepare for the arrival of their knights while our ground force engage their pawns on the surface of Terra." He added in a cold and calculating tone as the transports moved towards Southern Egypt.

广州,中华南方民国
Guangzhou, the Republic of Southern China

President Lyu sat in his office, thinking. The little ebony clock, a gift from his daughter, ticked softly up on the wall. Hundreds of old times lined his wall, but today he was only interested in one of them: the Art of War, a nearly 4,000 year old text detailing strategy of both General and Sovereign in times of war. He was on the last chapter, the 13th, which detailed the usage of spies.

His door opened. An aide walked in, saluted him, and laid a scroll of Xuan paper on Lyu's desk. Lyu saluted back, and began unrolling the scroll as the aide left. It was an old, old map of the extent of the Qing Dynasty. What he was handling was an antique--indeed, it's proper place was a museum, as it was nearly a thousand years old--but it was the most detailed map of the entire region in existence. It matched perfectly with the most detailed maps of their own nation; so, Lyu could assume that very few of the geological features had changed.

He pondered over the map for about an hour. Where would the most viable attack on the nation come from? The sky? The land? Or the water? Eventually, he decided on the sky as the most likely form of attack. How many troops can we spare in the event of an aerial invasion? Well, there were roughly a million soldiers, and another couple million if a draft was enacted. From his military classes way back in his school days, Lyu knew that this number was roughly 50 Divisions of 20,000 a piece.

Next, what regions could they not afford to lose? Certainly Guangzhou itself was of great importance, but it was exposed on the water. No, Guangzhou was out. The north? Too easy to trap them against the water. The south? They could come up through what was once Vietnam. The west was too landlocked. Taiwan might be viable, and had all the resources needed, but Lyu didn't want his country stuck in the same predicament as the old Republic of China in the 20th-21st centuries.

Lyu bit his lip. It seemed that Taiwan was the only option if retreat was necessary. Taking out a blank parchment and writing brush, he carefully inked in a map and battle plan, with annotations in every open space. For now, they would stay as they were. But should anything go wrong, they were to be immediately implemented.

Mystery Craft seen in the Philippines

Postby Odinburgh » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:00 pm

Breaking News

Philippines have a visitor off the eastern side. It has sent a distress call beacon that a large craft has submerged from the beneath the water and headed eastward. There was no resistance force in the area to fight it. Apparently little to no warning was given that the Uosok has ships beneath the ocean.

The day the aliens came

Postby Odinburgh » Sat Jul 02, 2016 10:44 am

Albert Rothchild slowly reads in his private journal of an entry he wrote two weeks ago. The leader of United Star Rebellion came to Earth to the help the resistance. Headquarters in Botany Bay, Australia has proven to be a viable spot but how long before the Uosok turns to the South Pacific. Luckily the ship the submerged off of the Philippines was headed eastward. Only thoughts he had it was headed to Egypt. At this point that might not be the destination. Uosok conqueriong the South Pacific was not their goal. They were looking for something.

The journal entry dated 7/4/3020 he looked closely at:

They came over 20 years ago and haven't left. The Uosok was seeking to drill to pilfer Earth's resources for their dying collective and kill or assimilate all of mankind. That is why they came to seek control but human kind on Earth stood in their way of achieving their goal.

Then who is the War Master he thought? Did he go by other names? Antarctica seems quiet all the time but nothing ever goes on down there. Twenty years ago an expedition was launched but funding for it got cut off quickly after the Uosok began their war against Earth twenty years ago. There was no explanation why the funding got cut.

The Siege of Kharga Begins

Postby Flarbinia » Tue Jul 05, 2016 8:27 pm

The desert outside of Kharga is littered with shells, bodies and gore. Red, blue and black are the new colors of what was once a magnificent desert, which has now become the stage of a devastating war.
The air which would normally carry the sounds of birds, camels, and tourists is now a hellish symphony of screams, explosions and plasma cannon barrages, hell has descended upon this area.

Two trained armies fight each other for supremacy, but there's no hint of which side will win. The dead of one side are spread around the forest and the faces of the fighters are hopeful with eyes searching their surroundings and adrenaline rushing through their bodies, they courageously fight on.

With the possibility of death shaking their knees the other side courageously fights their enemies with the hope of being the stronger side. Some have succumbed to a frenzy and are on a rampage against anybody standing in their way, while others just wish all this was over.

The toll on both nature and the combatants is immense. It'll likely take decades before this desert will have recovered. It's clear broken siege engines, rubble and trenches have taken the place of tour buses heading to Giza and Bedouin caravans migrating from place to place.

Lyu paced anxiously. He had just recieved word that the Uosok were nearing the Phillipines. What can we do? he thought. Should he risk losing a key point in the South Pacific where a direct invasion could be launched against them, or should he risk depleting the number of soldiers he had? He looked outside of his window into the sunrise. He had been woken up at 1:00 to the news that an Uosok spaceship had moved on the Phillipines.

Finally, he decided on his plan of action. He pulled out a scroll and hurriedly wrote on it.

On this, the Sixth of July Three Thousand and Forty,
I, Lyu Hongnan, hereby proclaim a draft of all able bodied men and women age 17 to age 35 to be enacted immediately by all qualified military personnel.

香港,中华南方民国
Hong Kong, the Republic of Southern China

Jin Baoqiang was overseeing his division, the 1st, doing warm ups that morning, when he was pulled away by Private Jie for a message from the President: Their ranks would be swollen with those who had submitted to the draft, and then they would march to the Phillipines and to war. Jin, whos face had been full of wry amusement at watching his men have mishaps in training, quickly hardened.

"I need you to go to the Radio detachment and have them contact the rest of the Generals with this information. I want you to stipulate that the 5th through 10th Division stay behind. That's half of our forces--hopefully we'll get out of this battle with enough to come back home."

"Yes sir!"

The Private broke into a trot as he left. Jin walked back to the division, which had been holding themselves in a plank position the entire time. He whistled, and they stopped holding and flopped about in varying stages of tiredness. "Alright soldiers," said he, "I have some news for you."

The entire division sat at attention; Jin never announced things to them himself. "Today, a nation-wide draft was enacted by order of the President. In a week's time, we march to the front lines in the Phillipines, where a Uosok ship has been detected. In a week's time, we march to war. This is not one of those border disputes we've been involved with so frequently. This time, we are fighting not only for the sovereignty of our nation, but that of the world, and that of the Human Race itself. Brethren, we shall be fighting for our futures, for our families, and for our world as we know it. Let us, therefore, muster every gram of courage in our bodies for our righteous cause, and kick their alien asses back where they came from!"

The division was silent for a second or two, then they all stood up and cheered, one loud deafening blast of defiance towards the Uosok.

Even in these dark times, Eternal President Khalifa Su'ud Rahal who has guided the country in the way of his great-grandparents knows what to do with this threat. As they know, since we're on the Persian Gulf and near the Oman Sea, we have a blockade positioned at the mouth of those two seas. We also have our military on high-alert and are ready to declare war at any minute. Meanwhile in the Philippines on the Peragionian island of Santa Cruz, Sheikh Poncio Canales Montenegro told me "Khalifa, we have reports of two strange crashed UFOs that have wrecked off the coast of Santa Cruz. I fear that it is the reckoning of the Urok and I fear that there is more coming. Have your automatic missiles at the ready because by God, there is more of them coming. I swear, it's-" and the phone signal is lost. "DAMN IT! Go investigate the happenings on Santa Cruz and check our airspace for anymore of these crafts coming,".

Assault on Tokyo

Postby Odinburgh » Thu Jul 07, 2016 12:08 pm

12th resistance division was located on post near Tokyo, Japan when it heard a large clap of thunder or commotion coming from the Japanese shoreline. Within seconds thousands of Usok came racing ashore attacking and wiping out everyone in its path. Captain Jordan Dowry saw the destruction before his very eyes and soon he would be one of the next ones to be killed. The Usok were here to conquer the Pacific. The Uosok scattered off shore going back to their ship. That was surely odd.

Then minutes later the ship stopped and decided to park itself over Tokyo permanently. It must be here for surveillance. Perhaps a countdown for bigger invasion forces to come. What was clear many ships were positioning themselves over large cities. Captain Jordan Dowry sent out a message to the surrounding nations that they could be next to receive visitors.

With the alien mothership over Tokyo, over in Peragion, a major hacking of all the TV's has happened. We will begin with what happened. As the President was concerned about Santa Cruz, he also heard that the aliens have parked a ship over Tokyo, possibly permanently. With this, he declared martial law in Peragion and ordered everyone to go inside to their homes in 5 hours or they would be shot. He also closed the borders so no one could come in or go out. He then took down the internet stopping any communication but then, but then, even after all of that, the Urok hacked into Peragion's servers and their National Broadcast. Here's how it went down.

"Greetings citizens of Terra. We are the Urok, a alien species far ahead of you apes. We have colonies halfway across the Milky Way looking for new places to call home. We usually either have the species surrender to their overlords or else, we destroy it for scrap. Your choice really and it's all up to the Leaders of Terra. So, unless you don't want to be killed, please have your Leaders comply with us or else, goodbye Terra. Good day and to insure you do it, we will blow up the tallest building in all of Peragion in Khalifa, a three-mile megastructure called The Lawrence Tower. Goodbye! Oh, another thing. Khalifa, I am mind-controlling 1/3rd of your population with AB Positive blood type so watch out! They're coming to get you next! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!" *the broadcast is cut*

Jin's hand slammed down on the desk he had in his makeshift headquarters. "Shit! Goddamn it!" he cried, slamming his hand down a few more times. General Zhang, who commanded the 2nd Division and was one of Jin's closest friends, had been dozing off in a chair. At this unexpected outburst he leapt up, hand on his pistol, but relaxed slightly when he saw it was only Jin.

"What happened?" asked Zhang.

"The fucking waixing guizi just turned up over Tokyo. The 12th Resistance Division over there radioed us last night, but I didn't get the message 'til now."

Zhang paled, and he sat back down (he was bad with shocks). "Holy shit...it's almost like they're trying to attack us, to wear our strength down to the minimum so we can't fight back. First the Phillipines, now Japan; it'll be us next for sure."

Jin stared grimly down at his map and the little slip of paper that had informed him of the news. Suddenly he stood upright. "I think I know what to do."

Zhang frowned. "How? You've been sitting there for less than a minute!"

Jin gave him a dour face in response. "That doesn't matter. Here's what I think: we can not defend Tokyo. It is far enough away that our boys over there won't get proper supplies. The Phillipines are closer, and we can use Taiwan as a launching point. But I'm going to change up the ratios a bit. 1st through 3rd Divisions launch to the Phillipines, and the rest stay here. You never know what's going to happen."

"What about the President? He's not particularly going to like this."

"Fuck what the President thinks. 'He who will win has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign'. We can't back out of this. Get the men ready--We'll be leaving in a few days for the front."

In the rest of the nation, a command economy has been introduced. Plasma weaponry is being produced at ten times the rate it was before, as are military apparatuses of any sort. The common people, while not liking the draft, do seem to see its overall purpose and submit to it. Military preparations for launch are being made in Taiwan.

United Star Rebellion begins construction

Postby Odinburgh » Tue Jul 12, 2016 2:42 pm

The United Star Rebellion has begun construction on a new defense system dubbed the Sol Space Defense Network. It is going to years to complete but Admiral Rothchild is going to need seek out investors that will help successfully launch such a big project of this kind. On his home planet of Odinburgh its Senate Assembly has approved to build a facility that will be part of this new system and need other locations to build centers to be connected to a vast network. This new system is devised to help defend against the Uosok and partly based of Uosok technology that was captured two years ago when a large craft crashed on Earth's moon. Ever since no one has been allowed to the moon but may one day facilitate a base of some sort.

The cardboard box thumped down heavily on the announcement table in the mess hall. It took a moment, but all of the voices quieted down, and all eyes were pinned on the box. Jin surveyed them for a moment--it wasn't just his men, but the entire 2nd and 3rd Divisions as well. He sighed.

Jin opened the box, and pulled out part of its contents. It was a blisteringly new gun, but not too odd looking either: it was in the shape of one of the ancient M1 Garands, except without the casing ejector on the top. Instead of that, there was a legnth of smooth, curved metal protruding from the top. A small valley ran lengthwise down its center, and there was an appropriate front sight at the end of the barrel.

"This, comrades," Jin began, "is a plasma rifle." The room erupted into murmurs. The plasma rifles they had used before had been bulky, unwieldy things of wires and dangerous batteries. And now they were being shown this...this antique? Jin held the gun to his shoulder in firing position. "It's just as light as an old M1, but it is nearly 30 times more powerful. It can shoot at a range of 1200 meters. It has all the features of an easy to use rifle." He held it with outstretched arms. "Safety." He pointed to a small red button near the trigger. "Cartridge, 50 rounds." More murmuring occurred as he pulled out of the box a flat, black rectangle with two small springs protruding from the top, and shoved it into the appropriate hole in the bottom of the rifle, just in front of the trigger. He put the rifle back into firing position, and aimed at a wall to his left. He fired.

A bolt of white light flashed for an instant, and the wall now had a hole in it that a man could climb through, and the rest of the wall--stretching all over the rest of it--was blackened with burning fibers. All murmurs stopped, and all eyes were now on the rifle. Jin turned to them again. "This is what you'll be using against the Uosok. After lunch, you will be assigned by squadron to pick one of the rifles up along with 10 cartridges."

At this, a veritable roar rose up among the assembled soldiers. People were climbing over each other, food in hand, trying to be the first to receive and test this new weapon. Jin grinned a bit. as he stepped down from his little podium, a Private came over to him and saluted. "Generalissimo, the shipments of the new artillery materials have arrived." Jin saluted back. "Thank you, Private. Dismissed." Well, Jin thought ruefully, those monkeys will be pretty sad they aren't in an artillery division when the realize that the artillery can do another 20x the damage of the rifle...

Victory At Kharga

Postby Flarbinia » Wed Jul 13, 2016 7:34 am

The town is littered with carnage, gore and bodies. Red, blue and silver are the new colors of what was once a beautiful, growing town, which has now become the stage of a ruthless battle.
The air which would normally carry the sound of working people and large tools is now heavy with the screams of dying fighters and the scent of their blood, enough to destroy whatever courage is left in the survivors.

An army of mercenaries and an army of warriors fight each other due to a difference in beliefs, but the victor is obvious. The wounded of the losing side are abundant and lay in heaps around the town and the faces of the fighters are grim with anguish and pain, yet they fight on.

With the thought of victory in their minds the winning side fights as if they're invincible. Some have succumbed to a frenzy and are recklessly charging towards the enemy with only the aim to kill all, while others fight by only focusing on their enemy and not the carnage around them.

However, once the battle was over, it was a Flarbinian flag flying over Kharga, not the banner of the Uosok. Although this victory did not result in the destruction of the Uosok, the Flarbinian Expedition had gotten its first taste of combat and won an important victory.

The toll on both nature and humanity is immense. It'll likely take years before this town will have recovered. It's clear broken siege engines, weaponry and debris have taken the place of schools, gardens, and market stalls.

War Begins

Every soldier in the three divisions that were departing was armed with a plasma rifle. They stood, shoulder to shoulder, in a great field in the mountains, guns in hand. All were in combat gear, with the bright blue-and-white pin of the Armed Forces on their helmets. Jin stood at a podium in front of them, paper in hand. He looked down, somewhat flustered by the fact that all eyes were on him. Dammit...this has never happened before... His hands were shaking a little bit. Finally, he looked up, and with a steely visage. "Alright, comrades: Let's show the waixing guizi who's the master of the East, and send them back to the level of hell from whence they came!"

From across the field came a cheer, several thousand strong. Jin smiled. We'll never go down without a fight.

The helicopters waited. Out of the trucks came hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers, with full bellies and a great need for victory. As the helicopters took off, one by one, for the Phillipines, the soldiers on board all began to sing the same song. It was an old song, from a time when other powers from across the sea attempted to take over China.

大刀向鬼子们的头 Our swords raised over the devils' heads,
上砍去 Hack them off!

全国武装的弟兄们 The entire nation's armed brethren are here,
抗战的一天来到了,抗战的一天来到了 It is time to fight! It is time to fight!

前面有东北的义勇军 In front march the Northeast Volunteers,
后面有全国的老百姓 Behind are the entire nation's people!

The Mercenaries Reach Abu Simbel

Postby Flarbinia » Mon Jul 18, 2016 1:10 pm

The ground trembles as an army of 180,000 strides along as one. A symphony of steps, each perfectly aligned with the one next to it, there's not a soul nearby who's oblivious to this army's march.

Up close it's the sound of power armor and Kevlar clashing together which overpowers all other sounds. The creaking of metal of the supply trucks and siege engines can be heard only faintly and the sounds of the war mounts are all but drowned out completely.
Nobody speaks a word to each other, partially due to the overwhelming noise around them, but mostly due to their focus. The entire army is as one, not a single soul with a different mindset. The enemy army heading for the monument will be crushed or they'll die trying.

The front is lead by eager charge units armed with plasma rifles. They're followed by bowmen ready for short range salvos, who in turn are followed by elite foot soldiers armed powerful with fission carbine.
The ranks are filled with many other regiments, including allied soldiers, as well as slave soldiers, including many elite units, stealth units, several defensive units and various flanking units.

Exodus in Alexandria, Egypt

Postby Odinburgh » Tue Jul 19, 2016 10:54 am

As the Uosok begins to lose hold on Egypt a mass exodus of Uosok has fled across the Mediterranean Sea to areas of Italy, Greece, France, and Spain forcing them to regroup. With war still underway in Egypt the Uosok remains there fighting against the Rebellion forces but with rebellion victory in Egypt would mean the Rebellion would have strong control in now two areas of the world: Australia and the African continent. However new concerns have sparked that something may be ensuing in Morocco which rebellion spies has been sent to gather information.

The Battle of Abu Simbel Begins

Postby Flarbinia » Sun Jul 24, 2016 9:22 pm

The field is littered with weapons, blood and destruction. Red, gray and khaki are the new colors of what was once a vast, lush field, which has now become the stage of a large scale assault by the Uosok.
The air which would normally be delicate and quiet is now a barrage of sounds of explosions, war cries and the screams of the wounded, a sight of pure nightmares.

An army and a rebellion fight each other for control of the area, but there's no hint of which side will win. The dead and wounded of one side lay in large groups across the field and the faces of the fighters are hopeful with boots stepping firmly and victory in mind, they push harder and harder on the enemy.

With a lack of confidence in a positive outcome the other side desperately fights their enemies without knowing which side is stronger. Some have succumbed to fatigue and are giving in to whatever fate this battle has in story for them, while others can only think of home and what they left behind.

The toll on both nature and humanity is tremendous. It'll likely take decades before this field will have recovered. It's clear debris, metal and broken siege engines have taken the place of tour buses and tourist.

Big saucer in the Egyptian desert

Postby Odinburgh » Sat Aug 06, 2016 7:34 am

Outside Abu Simbel a big saucer lifted from the ground and headed to Abu Simbel historic where thousands of troops were fighting. It seemed to startle both sides as they noticed the saucer ship. It was not an Uosok ship but someone else that was there centuries before. It was not long before it disappeared into the skies and left Earth.

Victory At Abu Simbel

Postby Flarbinia » Tue Aug 09, 2016 2:03 pm

Exploiting the lull in the enemy lines caused by the UFO, the mercenaries launched a full scale counteroffensive against the Uosok. The Uosok soldiers fought valiantly, but the mercenaries pushed them back until their flanks were collapsing. The surviving Uosok, seeing that the battle was lost, tried to surrender, but the mercenaries, having no cells or cages to hold them, mercilessly slaughtered their defeated foes.

Uosok retreats to Tirana, Albania

Postby Odinburgh » Thu Aug 11, 2016 2:01 pm

The Uosok has retreated out of Egypt thus conceding a temporary defeat and plans to regroup to retake parts of the middle east. Due the fact this changes their plans in how take the middle east as the Uosok has begun a buildup in Albania building a shipyard of new ships for an invasion of Turkey that is in the works. The Rebellion has gathered information and plans to share this with its allies. With hope a plan will come together soon to destroy the shipyard in Tirana, Albania cutting off assets for a potential invasion and choking off a point that the rebellion could make moves in Uosok-held European territory.

菲律宾
Bagamanoc, the Philippines

Jin was sitting in front of his desk in a small, hastily constructed tent. Thankfully, even though it was raining hard outside, the tent had flaps to cover the exits, negating most of the downpour within. He was looking at a map of the Philippines that draped over all sides of the desk, with little wooden rectangles placed on the shores of the eastern Philippines. Most of the rectangles had the inscription "炮兵"--Artillery Units. The tent flap opened, and another officer strode in and saluted. "General," said he, "what are the plans for tonight's offensive?"

Jin saluted back, and leaned over his desk with a glint in his eye. "The artillery battalions will begin firing in twenty minutes. They will operate in pairs, with one shooting while the other reloads its equipment. The 145th will be the outlier, and shall wait with us as backup. I want nobody but the artillerymen and the first aid units on that shore. How many fighters do we have?"

"Roughly a hundred, sir."

"Send out twenty of them."

"Twenty, sir?"

"Indeed. Dismissed."

The officer, bemused, strode from the tent and ran through the pouring rain to the communications base, a large van similar to an old mobile home. He relayed the General's instructions to the radio operators, who in turn relayed the message to the respective units in code.

一四七,待在这。 147th, stay here.
The 147th waited in their tents for the backup signal, shivering as a cold breeze came upon them.

一六一,八四,双。 161st, 84th, doubled.
The two units moved into formation, near Pandan.

一一二,二零七,双。 112nd, 207th, doubled.
On the coast, near Panay.

一三三,九四,双。 133rd, 94th, doubled.
On the coast, near Tabugoc.

瞄。 Aim.
The massive cannons moved upwards almost in unison, their barrels glinting, towards the hovering Uosok ship.

五。 5.
They waited tensely, each gunner's hands at the ready. Despite the breeze that had sprung up, they were all sweating heavily.

四。 4.

三。 3.

二。 2.

一。 1.

开始。 Begin.
Jin was outside his tent, as were many others, binoculars pinned on the eastern horizon. There was tremendous booming sound, and a hundred or so streaks of light raced into the heavens, bearing down on the Uosok ship. There was another boom, and more streaks of light were sent into the air, while those that had been there first disappeared for a moment. There was a cracking noise, and magnificent flowers of fire bloomed on the Uosok ship. More kept appearing as the shells kept spitting out of the cannons. A single, brilliant red beam of light cut through the darkness, continuous unlike the shells. The moment it reached the alien craft, more explosions occurred. It moved down and to the left, almost cutting up the Uosok vessel.

There was suddenly a rush of wind overhead. The fighter jets rocketed past the assembled ground forces, zooming towards the still unmoving alien ship. It was now, however, that the Uosok had recovered themselves. Small Uosok fighters came flying out of the belly of the larger ship, and came towards the twenty Chinese faster than expected. Two were downed by the Uosok before even having a change to fire. The others swerved, continuing towards the mothership with the aliens on their tails. They weaved through the increasing artillery fire and around the back of the ship, where they were lost to sight. Of the roughly 100 Uosok fighters, at least 20 were destroyed by artillery shells aimed at them by the 147th, whom Jin sent into the field to cover the jets. As the other artillery units pounded the larger vessel, Jin saw several dozen more Uosok fighters leave from the bottom and disappear where the jets were. Jin became increasingly worried. They've been around the back of that thing for seven minutes now! What happened?

Finally, when it seemed as though the Chinese's power in the air was crushed, five fighter jets raced around the side, tailed closely by several hundred Uosok. Jin stared at them in wonder for a moment, then ran to the communications van and picked up the microphone himself.

一一二,二零七, 把鬼子们的空军瞄。 112nd, 209th, aim at the devils' fighters in the air.
The five fighters were reduced to four after a Uosok caught up to one of them. Jin and the gunners of the 112nd and 209th waited.

开始! Begin!
The guns roared, and another twenty Uosok vessels fell. There was a screeching noise as the jets roared overhead, followed by an ominous hum from the Uosok fighters. A couple of howitzers, saved as a last resort, began shooting into the air at the enemy fighters. Two or three Uosok were destroyed by those, but the rest continued after the planes.

中华空军,一圈! Chinese fighters, one lap!
The jets turned abruptly, heading back towards the Uosok mothership. The enemy fighters followed.

一一二,二零七,再一次来! 112th, 209th, again!
The cannons roared once more into the air, and another twenty Uosok burst into pillars of flame. There were still fifty or so on the tail of the last four. There was a flash of green light from one of the Uosok, and another Chinese jet was destroyed in an instant. Meanwhile, the artillery had continued to pound with shells the Uosok mothership. The laser, an experimental armament, had been charging after its short use in the first five minutes of battle. Finally, however, the weapon was up and running again. With the same burst of red light, the laser beam cut through the Uosok ship in tongues of flame. When it stopped, Jin became aware of a terrible screeching noise from across the water, like some diabolical teacher scratching on a chalkboard. Within a couple minutes, it was clear that the Uosok ship was sagging to the right. As the artillery continued their onslaught, and the three planes were now reduced to two, the screeching sound reached a peak. The entire right side of the Uosok ship wrenched itself free from the other half and, in slow motion, fell gracefully into the sea. A great clapping noise reached Jin, along with a shockwave powerful enough to rip his tent away and him into the side of the van. The other half wobbled for another five minutes, then repeated what its brother had done. A cheer rose up from the gunners at the shore, audible even to Jin a dozen miles away. It stopped short when the Chinese fighters, who were still being pursued hotly, lost another of their number. There was only one now, and the gunners rushed back to their post to protect it.

The streams of light went up again, and Jin was made extremely proud: the harsh training he subjected his soldiers to, particularly the artillery units, had paid off. With each shell that went up into the air, another Uosok fighter was destroyed. Within 30 seconds of continuous fire, the remaining Uosok broke off from their target and zoomed back over the ocean to places unknown. Another cheer arose, from everyone this time. Jin grinned broadly. They had actually done it!

The Invasion Of Corsica Begins

Postby Flarbinia » Sun Aug 14, 2016 11:05 am

The beach is littered with blood, carnage and destruction. Red, brown and silver are the new colors of what was once a serene beach, which has now become the stage of a terrible battle.
The air which would normally carry the delicate scents of flowers and fruits is now merely a canvas for the stench of death and the cries of the dying, hell has descended upon this area.

Two armies fight each other because of the stubbornness of their leaders, but this battle has yet to find its winning side. The dead and wounded of one side are spread around the beach and the faces of the fighters are hopeful with boots stepping firmly and hope in their hearts, they take on their enemies.

With the possibility of death shaking their knees the other side does whatever it can in order to try to defeat their enemies. Some have succumbed to terror and are barely able to force their bodies in motion, while others long for the end of this battle.

The toll on both nature and humanity is tremendous. It'll likely take generations before this beach will have recovered. It's clear metal, bodies and blood have taken the place of bushes, flowers and grass.
