"Ah, you had me worried," said William, feeling a crack of compassion for the man, like the light of a lantern through a slightly ajar door.

"I appreciate your concern." As William walked off and Piet felt relief at not being further interrogated, an aid came up to him. "My Emperor, Minister Sonthers wishes a meeting with you, and for the opportunity to meet King James. What say you?"

"Tell him I will ask William about it when he is done shopping. I will not rush him, I want William to have no doubt of our economic prowess."

"For God's sake, remove the bag off of his head!"

Cyberwolf flinched as the hood was removed, revealing the first light he had seen in a week. He saw the face of a bearded man, in a simple black robe, but with an ornate cross necklace.

"Hello Cyberwolf. I am the speaker of the ungodly, which you must know is one of the top positions of the Legion. Now, I know you must be terrified, hungry, whatever petty emotions effect you must be all completely swirling through your head.

Now, I will ask you once nicely to tell me where Katherine is. Preferably Markus, but we will only give you a slap on the wrist for not telling us about him. But you will get me angry if you do not speak of Katherine.

I am not one you want to cross, I have killed hundreds, and laughed during the massacre in the Keomoran Capital. I am well studied in the art of keeping a man on the edge of death for months, wishing for death to strike but never getting it."

He chuckled and looked back towards a table, covered in various sharp and blunt objects.

"What say you, Cyberwolf?"

Walking up to a storefront he supposed was a bakery due to the variety of cakes in the window, William opened the door. He walked in, and proceeded to the desk, as there was no line, and asked, "Hello, would you happen to have any blueberry muffins, I'd quite like some."

An older looking baker came out, and handed him a box. "Here is a dozen of them. No cost. Consider it my thanks for what you are doing to help." He gave a small civil bow, and ran back into the bakery, looking like something was urgent.

Saying his thanks as the man walked off, William brought the case of Paems up onto the desktop, and produced 10,000 of them. He left them on the tabletop, and wrote a small note on a napkin reading, "For you, my fellow brother, who has been through hell to provide me heaven."

A man in a suit walked in and came up to William. He spoke, kind of hesitantly "King James, we have a meeting to be at, but my Emperor is too polite to say so to you. Would you mind... Ending your shopping for now? I am sure more can be arranged later."

The only one not scared was the speaker. He noticed that one of his assistants showed fear. He calmly walked over to the table, and grabbed a hammer.

Cyberwolf must have thought it was for him, but he was surprised to see one of the legionaries getting his skull beat in with a hammer.

The speaker chuckled, chillingly it was not even an evil one. His laugh was like a little kids, amused and filled with joy. In an apparent bipolar flip he turned very angry. "THE REST OF YOU, LEAVE!" They quickly did as commanded.

"Cyberwolf, you must think I am an idiot. No. I do know of your microchip. Don't worry, it is our secret. Amusing it is, the lengths that insecure men will go to feel better about themselves.

Why did I suggest that we kidnap you then? Hmm? I knew you would never speak. Why, it is simple. I wanted to meet you. You are very perplexing. Why would you, a man who hates society, hates everything Imperial, fight to protect it? Is it some personal reason, or all of a sudden disillusions of grandeur to be found in vigilantism?

This must be very personal for you to give. I will happily even it out. I am what you may call a psychopath. But I just simply really enjoy my work. Ha! I am not even religious, I would just as happily be employed under atheist terrorists. But the legion is an outlet for me. I can practice my art. I am the Rembrandt of Blood Paintings, the Beethoven of symphonies of screams. In a mere month I can learn more of a person than they knew of themselves in their whole lives."

He grabbed a knife and walked up to Cyberwolf. "I understand if you do not wish to tell. Either way my fate is sealed. I have lived a good life, a life on the hunt. What is the worst they can do? Behead me? Oh, that does not matter. Torture me? I would laugh knowing that they can't match my art. I bet knowing you, the Keomorans are already on their way, maybe even already here. Here." In a quick motion, he cut Cyberwolf's face, from below his right eye down to his cheek. It bled heavily, deep enough to clearly be a future scar. "Something to remember me by."

The carriages set off towards Cloudtop Hotel. It could be seen, it was the tallest building in Highrock.

Pondes seemed out of it still, in fact he was. He remembered how he was told by his uncle to bring imperial revenge against keomora. It seemed that they were pulling out. Where was his purpose now?

The carriage stoped in front of the hotel. Two soldiers stood guard. Sonthers open the carriage door. Pondes slowly stepped out. The rest happened in moments. The soldiers jerked up their rifles, and fired. Pondes was down on the ground.

"Quick, get the Baron!" The shout fame from the suited aid.

The two assassins were already dead, their blood splattering against the hotels wall.

William immediately was encased in bodyguards upon the first sign the men had lowered their weapons, and was unsure if they had shot at him. He did hear, however, a quick yell from Pondes, and he presumed the worst. You had to do it Sonthers, you had to go and cause another war, William thought. He was still under a never ending pile of bodyguards when the all clear call was given by Wellsias Murton. It took a while for the party to regain its composure, but when he stood back up he saw the blood of the two presumed assassins against the wall, and he felt indeed very inwardly relieved. The men had in fact just given William a reason, a motive, to move along with the plan, they had caused William's slowly spinning wheel to bend the speeds of light. He looked over at Pondes on the ground, and saw a growing pool of blood around him. We wasn't quite sure yet if he was alive, but he spoke up anyway.

"How could that slip under Sonther's nose?" William asked under his breath, "Is Emperor Pondes alright? I presume I can continue on our meeting with Sonthers if he may survive."

A medic was desperately trying to revive Pondes. But after a few minutes, he shook his head and started sobbing. "God save us, our Emperor is dead."

Meanwhile, Sonthers was no where to be found. Finally William could see a regiment of Imperial Guards running down the street, followed by a tank. The commander ran up to William. "Emperor Louwrens Cornelis has issued marshal law. You have an hour to decide if you wish to leave. If so, we will escort you to the airport, if not, we will have to escort you to a government building. There is a curfew in place."

"Lord Protector Cornelis, sir."

"What, private?"

"He has taken the title of lord protector. He has abolished the monarchy's power."

"Where did you here this?"

"From an Imperial Guard regiment, they were hanging new flags and I asked what they were for."

"Oh God, the Old Baron is even faster than Piet." He looked at the king. "You will have to have the permission of the Lord Protector. He has ordered the borders closed until the constitution is drafted."

"Your an asshole," Cyberwolf snarled in response, earning him a kick in the stomach. "You are a fool," he taunted as gunshots could be heard and the screaming of the Legion of Dawn filled his ears.
"You doomed the Legion of Dawn, your pet knights. And even I die I know that whatever they do with you."
The speaker was about to response when the door was forced upon, revealing a man wearing camoflage. "Arvin you bastard," Cyberwolf groaned as he was still recovering," your late."
Arvin didn't reply as the Speaker engaged him with the hammer. Sidestepping to avoid his swing he grabbed both his arms by the wrist before headbutting him. Seizing the advantage Arvin swept his legs from the floor, causing him to fall. Before he could stand up Arvin subdued him on the floor, continuously hitting him in the head. As a final touch Arvin stood up and stomped on his head with a satisfying crunch. Ignoring the gore on his boots and the smell of shit and piss in the air, Arvin unbinded Cyberwolf before carying him to safety.
For Peace and Honor.

High Rock, Jahe
It was a rather crisp evening Katherine noted as she stepped off the plane. Dressed in business casual, a tuxedo with a black tie she was escorted by the Imperial Guard. Foreigners would have considered this move a suicide, nothing more than a trap. But they Jahe, despite the fact that it was one of the most unruly of the children of the empire still held dear the tradition of guest right and no leader would dare break it: no matter bitter the foe. It comforted her, knowing small tradition survived the stream of time. A light smile graced her face when she saw the Baron... no Lord Protector ready with his retinue.
For Peace and Honor.

He smiled, revealing a glimmer of his past flamboyance, but it quickly went back to his straight emotionless face. His few weeks in power were already changing him. He knew his actions meant something now. Long past were the days were he could act as young and free as he wished...well in public anyways.

"Empress Katherine, or do you prefer Prime Minister? It is an honor to see you here. I think you will like Liensbrook. It is a quiet city, the sea seems to have a calming effect on the people."

"Elections?" asked Katherine with a raised brown when both went inside. "I never expected to be honest. And I meant no offense."
