With Wake's offensive capabilities destroyed, the remaining Marines realize the invasion is inevitable. With the let up of the barrage, the Marines begin to move into position to try an intercept the incoming landing force. They set up whatever heavy weapons they have left, M1917A1 Browning Heavy Machine guns, M2 Heavy Machine Guns, 60 mm mortars, 81 mm mortars, a handful of 37mm anti-tank guns and a few 57mm anti-tank guns . Army Coastal Artillery gunners, with most of their guns destroyed or out of ammunition, end up as riflemen. Naval and Marine technicians are also mad into riflemen as the need for shooters is desperate. Most are deployed around the perimeter of the island, stretched thin to try and try to meet the landing force head on.
The two Marine pilots, First Lieutenant Joseph Hanson and Second Lieutenant James Spears end up shooting down four more Dragomerian planes (two A6Ms and 2 G3Ms) before taking too much damage and finally ditching in the lagoon. They are fished from the water and prepare to assist in the ground battle.
The Task Force 1 aircraft take off from the carriers and head towards the Dragomerian fleet.
OOC: You can maybe after your troops land.
OOC: I thought you said they already went down?
