Since you have gone back on your word, you have violated the terms of our agreement; under the Tyrannian Constitution, no dominion has the right to declare independance without the express permission of the Emperor and his imperial majesty's Government. The document, available for inspection at WC headauarters expressly states that Tyrannia enjoys principal authority over any other signatory to any agreements or treaties they choose to engage in, under the proviso(our italics) that the house of Romula maintains its faithful tithe of 20,000 in silver Bezants, fifteen bushels of honey scented pine cones and three bottles of drinkable altar wine per season to the Holy See. The document states that, under the conditions of this agreement entered freely by Gaia Romula II in Anno Domini 1306, no nation, ruler, vassal nor free man may dissent from Tyrannia's authority over lands, properties, wealth or slaves.

The Final paragraph states that, if Tyrannia fails in even one payment of tithe to the Holy See it is every Christian's duty to rise up against the heritics of Tyrannia and bring them to judgement of excommunication and burning by pyre under the papal authority. Crusade shall be preached. Sins of active crusaders shall be forgiven and papal indulgence over each faithful nation's tithe to the Holy See shall be waived for the period of the Crusade. Also, the document threatens excommunication against any rebellious nation that either, attacks Tyrrania if the tithe is proven to have been paid in full and/or attacks any fellow crusading nation's properties or persons should the tithe be witheld by Tyrannia.

The identity is currently 'sourcing' and 'investigating' members of the Vatican Bank for evidence of faithful payment of Tyrannian tithes to the Holy See.

We will keep all interested parties informed once the cardinal facilitating our inquisition 'cracks'.

The Empire wishes to enlighten The Zodi Identity on the history of our nation. Gaius Romulus II converted to Catholicism in 1260, when he agreed to this declaration. The Tyrannian Imperial Army then overthrew him in a coup, placing his son, Gnaeus Romulus II, on the throne. The new Emperor's regent, Legatus Voulmnius Aquinas, converted the nation back to Orthodoxy and the Empire was absolved of the agreement by the Byzantine Emperor, who was recognised as head of the Orthodox Church until the fall of the Byzantine Empire, when the Tyrannian Emperor took the position on himself. Thus, the parchment is irrelevant.
