If Vektra carries out the intentional murder of civilians, that makes him exactly the same as the Landfish he is fighting, also, civillians killed in orbital bombardment are collateral damage, it isn't intentional murder, I hope.

Vektra it makes no sense for Landfish to still be on Nova Rimworld a few months from now, their primary objective was to capture and extract anvil, so once they have done that, there is no strategic nor tactical advantage they would recieve from staying on Nova Rimworld, so you will have to edit your post.

Anvil wasn't our primary objective, he was more of a bargaining chip. The ace up my sleeve, just a bit of leverage. Our primary mission on the Nova Rimworld was to get rid of the last Vektran stronghold in the system. Also, it is kind of like Stalingrad, in that one of the Nova Rimworld's highest assets is it's value as a piece of propaganda. It's like a symbol. If I win, I go home saying "Look what we did! We burnt this planet to the ground and they couldn't stop us! We're the strongest!", and if Vektra wins, he gets to say, "Look what we did! We kept them from destroying out planet! We're the strongest!".

Get rid of the last Vektran Stronghold?
Do you plan on doing that by land?
Taking over the entire planet with ground forces?
That would take at least a decade.

How strong of a presence do you have on Nova Rimworld, as I'm pretty sure you are outnumbered.

I am assuming at the start that the area that you took control over was more or less a circle, and now, me and Doom are taking bites out of that circle, and the closer we are to the centre/center the less places you have to safely bug out, as our guns (e.g. my HEP AAA) will be able to shoot down whatever you try to evacuate your men with.

If I was you I would bug out, while I still have anvil and while I still can, if you evacuated with anvil you would save face, it is really the only way to save face, the alternative is to leave your army to die on Nova Rimworld, which wouldn't exactly boost your moral.

The front was slow, and incredibly harsh. Captain Sokoloff, had been in over a dozen conflicts over his military career, but this was definitely not his favorite. His small unit was held up on the wrecked lobby of what at one point had been a hotel, though now it was more like some kind of ancient ruins, burned and crumbled. It wasn't the glamorous sight it had once been, but was safe from artillery fire. Small units like the Captains were scattered about the front, taking pot shots at the advancing line of droid forces.

Slowly, behind the dust, the advancing enemy lines came into view, and the Captain gave the order. "Fire!" The unit sprayed a volley of plasma and hardlight fire. As soon as the enemy returned fire, they picked up shop and moved, trying not to get bogged down, but soon, it would become hopeless. They would need support.

"Overwatch, this is Brawa 8-0. Facing heavy enemy assault, requesting hot fire support. Can we spare any air support?"

"Copy that, Brawa. Friendly air inbound. ETA, 5 mins." And within five minutes, a squadron of landfish bombers and fighters. The fighters were quick to engage enemy gunships, and the bombers got to work taking on the enemy advance.

Errm are your guys still inside the ruins of the hotel, and they just moved to a different part of the ruins, or are they running, in the open towards new cover, further away from my forces?

When I first landed, the numbers were me (1.75 million men) and Polis (over 2 million men) and Doom Legions (aprox. 460 thousand men + Overmind forces) and a several others who are now inactive, vs Vektra (3 Million men), so the numbers were pretty even, if not in my favour. And yes, I planned on taking over the planet by ground, why? Because I like writing from the perspective of ground troops over anything else

Now, I'm left with two options. Run away, and have the surviving soldiers be branded as cowards, or keep fighting an unwinnable war. Either way, I'm kind of fucked. RP is not entirely realistic, as part of it is you don't want it to come to a swift end, so that's the main reason I stay.

I don't really care how many citizens I kill during bombardment, but I (Vektra) don't execute civilians on sight. But just right now, comandos are being sent down there. They must do a stealth attack if needed, and we know the landfish patriotism, so they will try to kill my soldiers or report to any nearby soldier. Perhaps I described bad the situation, tomorrow morning I will re-write it.

The bulk of the Landfish and Polisian fleets are currently in orbit fighting the Vektra and his allies fleets. There's also a Vektran fortress, but I think that is on its last legs.

And you can really go anywhere, but I would suggest maybe go to Caliph, or Agric Alpha/Beta. The fighting over there is a lot newer. There is also a big battle on Nova Rimworld and Troaet, but those have been going on for longer. Still, it's up to you.
