Today after a month of work by the New Scottish Space Agency New Scotland is readying it's first rocket. The rocket itself is based off the ICBM variant Shetland-1. This new rocket, titled Highlands 1, is capable of holding a team of 5 astronauts for a period of two weeks if fully stocked. The rocket's mission is to orbit 120,000 km above the surface of the planet. The goal of this mission is to collect data on human survival in space and to test some new experimental technology which would be used on later missions. Currently the crew is made up of Captain Harold MacDonegal, mission leader and pilot, and Michael O'Flaherty P.h.D., EVA specialist and Technician. NSSA director Shaun MacLeod is currently looking for three more international crew members to take part of the mission. Furthermore MacLeod is currently looking to get airspace approval from Futrellia, Jerrinburg, Contaminesia for the rocket's ascent and Nerodanus, Germeria, and new Jan Mayan for the rocket's decent. If the crew and airspace approval can go through on time the rocket will launch in two weeks.
