Scientific Research and Innovation will Be Expanded Thanks to VISA

NEW CASTLE - Continental leaders, early Monday, signed onto a Vardesian Initiative that will promote STEM programs and innovation across Vardes. The initiative will form VISA, or the Vardesian Innovation and Science Agency - a scientific conglomerate that will provide for the resources needed to expand our knowledge of our world and universe.

The Vardesian Innovation and Science Agency is a continental organization that works to promote science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation across Vardes. VISA will expand Vardesian collaboration and promote the freedom of knowledge by connecting research that has been developed across the continent. VISA will collaborate with both public and private organizations on the continent, expediting research and innovation - pushing technology and expanding our understanding of the world. VISA will be composed of several other smaller agencies, the largest being: VASA (Vardesian Aeronautics and Space Agency), VEPA (Vardesian Environment Protection Agency), and VEI (Vardesian Education Initiative).

VISA will governed by an independent Scientific Board that is composed of three top scientists from each member nation. The VISA Scientific Board acts as the leading scientific authority in all member nations and delegates the organization's budget which is funded by each member nation equally. The VISA Scientific Board is independent of politics in any member nation - to ensure ethical research. Any and all innovation or development will be shared with each member nation and can be shared with the public with the Scientific Board's approval.

After the initiative was signed this morning by both the Arkhon Federation and Futrellia, the Chancellor spoke to the continent,

"The continuing collaboration with other Vardesian nations is of my administration's top priority. This specific partnership will not only drive scientific innovation, but bring our nations closer together - developing new technologies, expanding large-scale interventions, and breaking headfirst into the frontier. I am excited to begin working closely with Futrellia as we continue to unite Vardes and expand its culture and influence across Elvarya."

In the next week, the Chancellery will open talks with the nations of Fuso and Aventhia with the goal of expanding the organization to encompass the majority of Vardes. The Chancellor has also planned a continental trip, beginning in Fuso with stops in Aventhia and Futrellia before finishing the trip in New Castle where the Federation will host the Vardesian Ball - December 15th. While on the trip, the Chancellor plans to open talks about further Vardesian collaboration and future initiatives that will be prosperous for the continent.

The Chancellor Plans to Visit the Caerion Isles this Week

NEW CASTLE - Today the Chancellor will travel to the isles of Caerion in the Pyik Sea to speak with local leaders in a new push to fully industrialize the formerly independent nation. The Arkhon Federation, which now governs the isles, will work to implement the people and their resources into the fold of the Arkhonian economy. In an act that was signed at the end of last year, the Arkhon Federation granted Arkhonian citizenship to all individuals living in Caerion, supplying welfare to the isles. In a press conference last week with the Chancellor, the Chancellor said that "it is the Federation's prerogative to make the lives of those living in Caerion better by installing welfare, building infrastructure, and setting the foundation for the isles to become the largest trading hub in the Pyik Sea." The Chancellor's will plan to build upon those remarks during his trip to the isles this week.

National markets will also see an expected spike, as the move to bring Caerion under the Arkhonian fold is projected to bring billions of dollars in government contracts to the market. Governmental activity in the Pyik Sea, which has been expanding in the last several years, will see an even higher expansion in the next several months. Construction projects including that of large resorts and urban centers in the Caerion Isles coupled with expansive drilling in the Pyik and new mining projects on the Isles will bring billions of dollars to the Federation, creating jobs for Arkhonians and further stimulating the economy. Economists are praising the administration's strategy in the Pyik Sea, and the Arkhonians, which will see an increase in Government Welfare at the end of this month thanks to a new package spending bill passed by the government at the beginning of 2020, are polling strongly in favor of the Chancellor and the government.

Twin Probes Set to Explore All Planets

For the first time in over a decade Nerodanus will be launching new Probes into a tour around the solar system! Twin Probes are expected to be launched sometime next month to explore the systems planets, and, if possible, reach interstellar space to study the effects that are felt once the termination shock is crossed. Should these probes make it there they will be the first to do so. However that is not expected for around 20 years depending on their final sling shot maneuvers around the far out ice giants. The Probes are going to be capturing video and images of each of the planets, physical studies, scan for moons we may not have yet found, measure magnetic fields, study each planets atmosphere (should the planet they be at have one), and more!

The probes will be powered by thermoelectric generators which are expected to power the probes for long enough to meet their extended mission. However the primary mission will complete once all of the planets have been studied.

Reichskommissar approves land grants to new immigrants, signs contract with Krupp AG

A month after the startling decision made by Reichskommissar Nürnberg, in which over 600,000 native Germerian citizens and their families would emigrate to Varumia in a bilateral effort from both nations, legislation was pushed through that would reserve currently government administered land and grant it to the new citizens. Said land ranges from residential areas abandoned during the war, undeveloped wilderness and ownerless property from before the war. Nationalist opposition leader Henri Clemencuay offered stiff criticism to the legislation and the heavy handed nature of it's passage, calling Nürnberg's actions as 'despotic'. The increasingly fractured leftist coalition under Maurice Theussiers remained mostly quiet, only speaking up against the exclusivity towards Germerians in receiving land, a move which political analysts believe shows a small bed of support for the Kommissariat government in the coalition. Nürnberg has not responded to questions regarding the supposed resurfacing of former Razonican national Maekus Britho in Varumia.

Alongside this and garnering bipartisan support was the announcement of economic partnership with Krupp AG Steel. Founded in the late 19th century by Alfonse Krupp, the company has gained a considerable majority in the Germerian steel industry, supplying over 70% of all steel used or exported in Germeria, as well as offering a considerable munitions department supplying the Germerian military and associated allies. The legislation was only given lip service opposition from all parties, with the need for resources and industrial reconstruction maintaining it's swing status amongst the electorate for the legislature. Krupp Steel will open over 15 new plants across Varumia at it's own expense, as well as donating funding for the expansion of several related industries in order to stimulate the Varumian economy, in return for reduced tariffs and import laws, as well as being the primary weapons contractor for heavy armaments in the Varumian military.

Fusoese Supercarrier completion comes under scrutiny

(EXIA) Following press leaks about the construction of a supercarrier named Kaga, opposition parties on the National Diet signed a protest towards the leading party about its lack of disclosure in regards to another aircraft carrier being constructed away from the public's eye. The Deputy Minister admitted that indeed the military was constructing another aircraft carrier, and that keeping away from both the public and several echelons of the government was necessary in the nation's development towards "national security." He later apologized on behalf of the administration, but maintained adamant that the new supercarrier was necessary in helping the nation and its allies to project its military capabilities in regards to the administration's foreign policy of international defense, and its commitment to its obligations in the matter of defending the nation's borders.

This did little to appease the public's anger, as protests rocked the National Diet outside with people holding up signs of the country promoting military fascism and calling for some of the members involved in the construction and its concealment to resign and imprisoned for their actions. The opposition parties rallied and called for a proposal to halt the construction, but they soon rescinded upon learning that the ship itself was already completed and is scheduled to undergo operational trials.

Tabloids and citizens alike are abuzz with excitement as the marriage between Germerian Margrave Aleixs von Gegenfeld and the Jordian Queen Celeste Lucross was consummated today. The marriage came almost as a snap decision to many observers, with the new couple having met at last December's ball in Jord, where the two hit it off according to insiders. The Margrave spent the next two months in Jord, being sighted all across the country at known royal estates and retreats but never in the company of the queen. Associates of the Margrave were tight lipped when pressed for details and neighboring nobility in Germeria were starting to voice their concerns when news of the marriage was released. Margrave von Gegenfeld was a soldier that served in the Razonican War in the 212th Infantry Regiment, who presided at the ceremony and carried the regimental flag in Germerian custom at weddings.

While the newly wed couple is off celebrating, an intense and covert legal battles has been silently waged in Germeria's courtrooms as issues of succession and autonomy came under question. After several days of debate, it has been decided by the couple that Margrave von Gegenfeld would abdicate all titles in Germeria to his younger cousin Alessandra von Gegenfeld, a former Red Cross nurse that served during the Razonican War. The Kaiser has delivered his official congratulations to the Queen and Margrave earlier today.

TYDERIUS - Despite heavy backlash from President Masters and the Presidential Office, the Congressional Senate Majority led by Federalist Party president Marie Carter has pushed through to vote on ending the year old deal between the Federal Republic and the Grand Duchy of Razoria that has seen nearly one billion dollars funneled into the Razorian Self-Defense Force and stabilizing the government led by Grand Duke Walther Lussengarde. The agreement, known as the Lussendale Accord, ensured that Federal Republic assistance would be in place to stabilize the shaky splinter state after the costly and devastating Razonican Civil War that saw the collapse of the Razonican Empire and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of ethnic Razonicans. Within the Lussendale Accord, it was promised that the Federal Republic would support Razoria until it was clear that the Grand Duchy was capable of presiding over it's civilians in a "safe and secure manner".

"Since 2019, the Federal Republic has footed the bill of 1,276,253,025 dollars to supply Razoria with weapons, uniforms, repair equipment, training and logistical support for their defense forces and provided economic cushion for the stability of the Razorian government while it structures itself to run independently. Within a year it seems that Razoria can stand on it's own and now our support must come to an end, for the good of Futrellia."

President Marie Carter was quoted during a today's session of Congress.

Both President Masters and officials from the Presidential Office's Economic Research Council have denied the claims set forward by Party President Carter and insists that Razoria is still struggling with the ability to run it's own factories and that if Federal Republic resources are withdrawn, could see Razoria turn into a "third world country" as quoted by Daniel Guyver, Chairman of the Economic Research Council.

Though the Congressional Senate Majority has won the right of vote, Party President Reniro Bashas of the Democratic Socialist Party has sided with President Masters. In the National Assembly, approval of the upcoming vote is significantly lower, with only 24 Federalist seats advocating to approve the Lussendale Accord Disassembly Act.

The LADA is scheduled to be voted on by Senate on March 24 and by the National Assembly on April 5.

Sultan Mustafa IV falls into coma, Alaeddin Pasha assures stability

Shock has gripped the Imperial capital today as Sultan Mustafa IV collapsed earlier this morning on the steps of the Parliament building. The Sultan was rushed to the Mehmed Bey Medical center for emergency treatment and care, where an hour passed before government officials pronounced the Sultan was placed in a medically induced coma to preserve his health. These reports were later confirmed by Mustafa's Grand Vizier Alaeddin Pasha in a press conference outside the Imperial Palace, where he assured the nation that the Sultan's health would recover in the following weeks and stability would be ensured by the Regency Council and Chamber of Notables until the Sultan recovered or the matter of succession had been solved.

Around the country, military units and detachments of the Attoman army and navy are mobilizing to large cities and key trading ports in an attempt ostensibly to protect trade from foreign enemies of the Amsanliye Empire, though analysts and foreign observers are implying that such a move is being made to keep radical elements and popular revolts in check while the monarchy is weakened. The popular pro-democratic revolts of the early 2000's are still fresh in many people's minds and with the Sultan unable to respond or placate the leaders of a new revolt, different underground groups and movements might use this chance to overthrow the Sultan and impose their own administration.

Even more concerning however has been the reaction of the three sons of the Sultan. The brothers have grown increasingly antagonistic over the last decade and have vied for the favor of their father to secure their own succession to the Imperial throne. While Mustafa has favored his eldest son Osman as his potential heir, no legal will has been made or declared by him, and thus the succession is a matter up to the Regency and the Chamber of Notables. Whoever is chosen by Pasha to join the Regency in ruling would gain an immense amount of influence and authority to push their claim, but even then it would not be an easily decided matter, with each brother having their own contacts and supporters in the military and government. Brother wars for the throne are not an uncommon occurrence, and with the world still picking up the pieces of the Great War, a full blown civil war for the throne is becoming an increasingly unnerving and realistic possibility.

The UK is ready to kick off an effort to revamp military training

DALEFORD — The Adfranan Army is rethinking how it conducts a key element of its training, tapping industry to help deliver the first phase of what the military says will be a “surrogate for warfare” by the time the upgrade is complete.

Requests for information (RFI) are scheduled to be released by the Ministry of Defense November 9, formally launching an industry competition to secure the first phase of a major training overhaul: the Collective Training Phasing Program (CTPP).

“Collective training will become a surrogate for warfare; driving adaptation, generating combat ethos, empowering commanders, and delivering tactical innovation,” said the Adfranan Army in response to questions from Defense News.

“From now to 2030, collective training will be transformed to prepare the Army. Critically, that will be through delivering trained force elements at readiness, but also through contributing to maintenance for the dynamic and complex future operating environments faced in an era of constant confrontation,” said the Army.

The Phase 1 RFI is expected to attract responses from at least three of the top Adfranan and Futrellian defense contractors interested in the sector here. Spokespeople for Gunner International, Alliance Industries UK and Halcyon Armed Solutions UK all confirmed their interest in the program.

Upgraded urban training facilities, additional virtual training at Army bases and potential use of innovative synthetic training capabilities are among the potential improvements, said the industry executive.

Together the two phases could be worth in excess of £600 million, although more precise figures depend upon final requirements, which be driven in part by affordability.

DAJARA - In celebration and remembrance of Efrija's fight for independence 213 years ago, President Muhammed Dushari made a speech at Dajara's Independence Festival. Since Efrija's war for freedom from the Germerian Empire, the nation has celebrated with the Independence Festival filled with parades, food, drinks, fireworks, and games on the Fourteenth of every August. Traditionally, the Festival has only lasted one day of the year but as the Fourteenth lands on a weekend, the Independence Festival officials have pushed for the festival to last all weekend. The Festival has attracted hundreds from all over the world to the rich, vibrant and glorious culture that is the Efrijan peoples.

Renovan People's Liberation Air Force announces annual flight show

Hengzhou- The Renovan People's Liberation Air Force announced it's annual flight show/training regiment this time the location, is in the Republic of West Korea home to the famous Renovan Officer Training School to which the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front has extend invites to all national air forces to attend. The event is expected to last for three days and be attended by several high profile leaders of the National Liberation Front such as Supreme Leader Lin Hua, and Revolutionary President Kae Min-Sung with invites also sent out directly to several high profile international leaders within the region of Elvarya. A detachment of Special Response Team and Special Operation Forces operators is expected to be deployed to provide security for the event, while the local police authorities continue to maintain law and order within the city in preparation for the upcoming event. The event is expected to be highly anticipated even among the West Korean Government who is looking forward to the stream of surplus from incoming tourists, and foreign nationals looking to attend the regiment for a close up of the pilots from the famous 88th Tactical Fighter Squadron. Foreign diplomats attending the event will be provided free passes and rooms at two of Hengzhou's finest hotels, and discounts from vendors throughout the city in a effort to make the diplomats feel welcome within the Revolutionary People's State.

There are rumors going around that the government could be unveiling a new military aircraft design for the Renovan People's Liberation Air Force, however those claims continues to remain just rumors until a official confirmation is handed down from the National Liberation Front. Focuses On Lunar Surface Continue As Probe Lands On Lunist

Earlier this week Nerodanus landed the first of the Map Series landers on the surface of Lunist, the larger moon of Elvarya to begin preliminary mapping and high detailed imaging of the moon. While a permanent base is still several years away this series of explorations is focused on measuring the lunar plain to find the total usable area available to the project and designate the most optimal landing sites for construction equipment and temporary shelter for people to live in as they handle the setup of the base. The main components will be assembled on Elvarya and launched to Lunist where on-site crews will handle the setup.

It is theorized that the base will serve as a testing ground for medical and military technology that is deemed too high-profile to be handled planetside but these rumors have been denied by the Government in Drakodia, with Chairman of Foreign Affairs, Liliya Fedorov stating that there have been intentions to, once the project is completed, open up participation down the line to other nations of Elvarya much like with the original N.S.S. project. But in the meantime remote-controlled bulldozer-like probes are currently in the works once the Map series reaches it conclusion.
