Varisis has plans to grow their military, stabilizing Teras and reinforcing its position bordering Tadbu. Yesterday, the Arkhonian Federation reached out to Varisis proposing a deal that will accomplish these goals. The Arkhonian Federation will sell advanced military blueprints to Varisis and assist in the creation of a larger Navy and Airforce. Varisis currently has two fleets and plans to build two more in the next three years. The Arkhonian Federation will be granted a Naval Base on an island off the coast of Varisis and all military contracts will be given to Arkhonian businesses.

In other news, the current military of Varisis will begin looking to work with the international community. The Varisis High Command will send a fleet to be stationed in the Ustoic Sea to protect trade and secure Varian interests building Varian strength in the east. The High Command will also look to support New Scotland in Tadbu. Varisis will also look to support the FoL in the conflict with Novo Razcon sending supplies and weapons to the revolutionary group. Varisis also hopes to secure good relations with the nations of Germeria, Dormior, Jord, and New Scotland, while continuing to secure good relations with the Arkhonian Federation.

Caerion has taken major steps to tackle industrialization and the first step in the Five Year Plan is ahead of schedule. Transportation networks are being built throughout the island laying a foundation for the nation. Vacation resorts are being built throughout the island as well attracting many people who are looking for a tropical vacation.

The military of Caerion is projected to grow in the coming year as well and the nation will be placing more funding into the creation of a larger navy. Caerion's collaboration with Germeria has already strengthened Caerion's military, but the nation is still interested in a larger fleet.

The Federal Government will Withdraw from Scain

NEW CASTLE - This morning the Federal Government passed B.1265; a Bill to Withdraw from the Scainish Coalition currently overseeing the Scainish Occupation. The bill made its rounds this week between the two Chambers with much debate in the Senate and a skeptical Assembly that sent the bill back to the Senate twice to amend several sections of the legislation. Finally, after the Assembly passed the bill, the Chancellor signed the bill this morning. The newly passed legislation will fund the evacuation of all Federal Assets in Scain and the relocation of the Fifth Arkhonian Fleet to the Naval Base currently being built in Varisis. The bill also unfunded the program to Educate Scainish Entrepreneurs and mandated that all Scainish individuals sent to the Federation for education, will be sent back to Scain. Infrastructure built by the Federation on Scain will remain as long as the Scainish Government can pay the Federation for the infrastructure's services. If the Scainish Government cannot fulfill payment for the Federation's services, then the Federation will remove all Federal infrastructure.

The Government's actions are likely influenced by the Government's new collaboration with Cryhook Industries - an organization that better represents the Scainish Agenda. The Chancellery released that the Federal Government condemns Cryhook's attacks on Novo Razcon, but is hopeful that further collaboration will occur in the future. After last weekends negotiations, Cryhook will open a branch in the Arkhon Federation and will join the Arkhonian International Bank. Further negotiations are underway with Cryhook to settle Arkhonian Investment in the company while and in the meantime, the Federation plans to donate 2 billion Golden Marks to the organization and several thousand new military assault rifles.

Rumors are floating around the Capital that the Chancellor plans to leave the Commonwealth - a former international peacekeeping organization. After New Scotland left the Commonwealth last week, a new poll suggests that Arkhonians find that the Commonwealth is no longer an international organization that works for global peace. The Chancellor plans to meet with delegates from New Scotland next week to talk about the future of international institutions. In addition, a the end of the month, the Government will join several Commonwealth members to revisit the organization's Charter.

Breaking News: The Senate of Dormior condemns the nation of Novo Razcon for there brutal practices and tyrannical government. In the next week, Dormior will continue to build up defense forces on the Razcon-Dormior border and amp up funding to the military. To strengthen the front, Dormior received a large sum of money from the Cryhook Corporation, which was lobbied last week. The money will be entirely spent on Dormior Forces and the Senate will look forward to a coming attack.

The Senate is also interested in building a better relationship with Varumia and Razoria, by increasing trade with more connections via train tracks. Dormior is interested in building a League between the nations to work together for peace after the big war. This peace-seeking opportunity will not be associated with Novo Razcon's attempt to unite the Raz nations and will work as a separate entity. After much research conducted, Dormior considers Novo Razcon a violation of the general peace of the Aldes and will not be offered membership in a united Aldes League. Although Dormior does not agree with the philosophy of the FoL, the Senate would like to see an internal change with the present government of Novo Razcon. The general public supports a possible war with Novo Razcon, and if war occurs, the Senate will begin a draft and will begin selling war bonds to get money for the war.

Crushing Defeat at Libero

After roughly a month of fighting and 100,000 fatalities, the city of Libero, capital of the western province of Portaval, has fallen to the Forces of Laerolk. However, several enclaves under Laerolkian control have been captured by the government. Due to the war's onset, the Supreme Leader has ordered the increase of the military budget from $15 billion to $40 billion a year at the cost of other portions of the budget, including the state's international aid budget. This will mean an end to the support of Plyric in the Plyrican Civil War. As another thing, the government established the War Productions Board, an emergency body to oversee the production of goods within Novo Razcon-held territory to ensure that both war needs and civilian needs are met as outlined in the earlier Emergency War Protocol Act. In addition, word from the capital is that the Supreme Leader is contemplating the abolition of the gold standard and the granting of legislative authority to the Parliament, which held purely advisory power for the nation's history.

Protests in Laerolkian-held Territory Leads to Massacre

According to reports from our journalists within Laerolkian territory, all religions besides Journey Unionism have been outlawed, and all churches besides those preaching Journey Unionism destroyed. The Laerolkian government, calling itself the Holy Council of the Legionary State of Razonica, has also issued orders to execute all non-believers under their Heresy Act, which declares that not being Journey Unionist is heresy and carries the death penalty. Other edicts passed by the "Legionary State" include the abolition of the legislative branch, absolute government authority over the economy, the abolition of the free market, total intolerance of LGBTQs, and restrictions on criminal and labor rights. These acts have caused thousands of citizens to take to the streets in peaceful protest, calling for change. Unfortunately, military soldiers fired into these peaceful protesters at will, causing an estimated 6,000 deaths across all Legion-held territory. Government Establishes No-Entry Zones

Earlier today, the Varian Government has declared its support of the Forces of Laerolk, otherwise knowns as the Legions of the Ever-Parents. In response, the Supreme Leader has declared the establishment of No-Entry Zones across Novo Razcon. This means that all entry to Novo Razcon by plane, ship, or land must be authorized in advance stating that they bear no intent to violate any Novo Razconian laws, and all entrants to Novo Razcon and all accompanied vehicles, bags, and other containment devices will be searched for illegal substances and weaponry. If any illegal substances or weapons are found, the offending party will be apprehended by police, tried in court, and have their illegal property confiscated by the government. All suspected weapons will be scrapped or put to use in the civil war. All Varians and all Varian vehicles entering Novo Razcon will be prioritized due to their nation's supporting the Legions of the Ever-Parents. Furthermore, the government would like to clarify that civilians in Novo Razcon are not allowed to bear arms.

Breaking News - The Nation of Dormior has officially declared war on the nation of Novo Razcon following a vote by the Senate. Immediately, troops stationed on the Razcon-Dormior border will mobilize and push into Novo Razcon destroying industry and targeting warehouses. The decision comes after increasing tension between the two nations and several threats made by Novo Razcon to Dormior. To ensure peace and stability, Dormior will push into Novo Razcon to weaken Novo Razcon and eliminate the threat they pose to the rest of the world.

Dormior will accept any and all aid offered to the military to fight Novo Razcon and will collaborate with other nations to purchase military equipment and arms. If needed, Dormior will seek Mercs to assist the general army of Dormior in battle. Currently, Dormior will accept arms donations from Germeria and New Scotland as well as supplies from Germeria. Arkhonian Diplomacy Resolves War In the Aldes

NEW CASTLE - After an eventful day in the Aldes involving a declaration of war from Dormior directed towards the nation of Novo Razcon, the world stirred from peace and into action - attempting to resolve the conflict before it began. Finally, through the efforts of the Arkhonian State Ministry, the two nations agreed to a plan that provides protection for both nations. The Arkhon Federation will be given 10 bases evenly spaced on the Dormior-Razcon border and will act to protect the two nations from each other. The border will be enforced by Arkhonian Soldiers and any and all attacks made on the border by any organization will merit retaliation and possible war. An attack on the Dormior-Razcon border will be treated as an attack on the Arkhon Federation.

The treaty between the three governments will stabilize the Aldes and will bring tentative peace between the two Successor States. The Arkhon Federation will begin construction of the ten bases next week, starting in the north and working to the south of the border. The bases will be connected via train tracks and every three miles a sentry tower will be built to secure the entire border. The Fifth base (middle) will feature a landing strip for cargo and reinforcements which will be supplied from Locus Island in the Pyik Sea.

Now with assets in the Aldes, the Arkhon Federation will support the nation of Novo Razcon against the FoL in any and all attacks close to the Dormior-Razcon border. The Federation will however not seek to attack the FoL, and will only act as a defensive force for the border. The Arkhon Federation reserves the right to search every vehicle that passes through the border and seize any item that is deemed unnecessary or illegal. To ensure the safety of both nations, the Arkhon Federation will inspect all commercial freight and the identification of all individuals passing through the border. Non-compliance with an Arkhonian Guard at the border can merit retaliation and death at the benefactor of both States, and with social standing not considered upon the execution of such duty. The border and bases will operate under the Law of the Arkhonian Stratos Military with an economic consideration based on Regulatory Arkhonian Tariff Laws.

With the treaty, the Arkhonian Government will reopen negotiations with Cryhook Industries to add the protection of Arkhonian Assets in the Aldes, so that all Arkhonian Assets are exempt from Cryhook attacks. The Arkhonian Government will also attempt to lobby Cryhook Industries to back away from direct attacks made on one target to focus on a broader scale - a business plan that will keep Cryhook Industries from collapsing.

Neroian Support for Allies increases

As Novo Razcon continues its war against the FoL, Nerodanus has received permission to land forces in Novo Razcon and begin a ground war against the Terrorists. This comes after a narrow avoidance of war between Nerodanus and Dormior following the latter's declaration of War against Neroian ally, Novo Razcon, and the quick reaction of the International Community, namely Germeria, Nerodanus, and the Arkhon Federation, to prevent a re-ignition of conflict stemming from the remains of the Razonica War and subsequent tension between the successors. The exact Forces that are planned to be landed are currently unknown, but first rounds of Troops are expected to be readied in a few days time, and arrive within a week. Initial assaults will not begin for at least another week after that as Nerodanus works out a plan with Novo Razcon. The end goal is the elimination of the FoL, or at least their capabilities to be a significant threat. Neroian negotiations with the Razma have prevented them from supporting the FoL before any support could be sent.

In the Plyrican Civil War the Neroian efforts have continued. The stalemate of the War as the Winter in the southern regions picks up to be a brutal one, most fighting has become sporadic as both sides begin to dig in and fortify their positions. Neroian sabotage efforts and other operations will continue unhindered following an incoming resupply mission that will bring in fresh troops to replace the minor losses encountered, regular operational equipment included weapons, ammunition, food, spare parts, fuel, and winter clothing to keep troops warm.

As a chain of islands, Caerion's tourism industry is turning over major profits, and the government is proud to announce that several new resorts will be built on the island next year. Caerion's position in the middle of the Pyik Sea sets the nation in a perfect location for trade. Last month, the nation finished the construction of several larger ports which will begin operating this week. Inner-State Transportation is also under-construction and the initial 5-year plan is ahead of schedule by months with the help of outside nations. Last week, a Caerion scientist found that Caerion is sitting on a large oil field, encouraging the nation to jump into the oil business.

As the nation of Caerion grows, it has adopted major facets of Arkhonian culture. Polls show that the people of Caerion are having a general growing hatred of the nation of Nerodanus, and scholars suggest that these views are influenced by Arkhonian Culture. The Royal Court of Caerion today suggested that the nation of Caerion should block Neroian trade through the Pyik Sea, but after much deliberation within the government and from talks with the Arkhon Federation, the Court decided to back away from this suggestion. However, the Court will impose a high tariff on all exports coming from Nerodanus and are encouraging several other large nations to do the same.

Nerodanus To No Longer Trade With Caerion

Following a released message from the nation of Caerion, which includes admittance to possibly blocking Neroian Trade through the Pyik Sea, the ongoing session of Soviets established a vote on how to handle the matters. The end result was that Nerodanus will no longer be conducting Trade with the nation of Caerion. With that, Neroians will also be actively discouraged from going to the Caerion Islands, due to belief that the anti-Neroian stigma there may result in peoples harm.

The claim that these beliefs came from the Arkhon Federation, a nation actively working to improve relations with Nerodanus will be investigated and an outcome reached at a later date. The recent announcement that Caerion has found large reserves of oil will be passed over in favor of the Razma Tribes and other nations. Renovan People's Liberation Armed Forces deploys additional units to Zen Island

Czargrad, Renova- The Central Committee of the National Liberation Front, has announced the deployment of the 22nd Infantry, and 101st Armored Divisions to Zen Island. This action has come in response to the number of growing foreign militaries, within the continent of Aldes over a short time period. Revolutionary President Pei has already ordered the 68th Fleet, of the Renovan People's Liberation Navy out of port to patrol the water around the island. A spokeswoman for the Central Committee a sure foreign leaders, that this is just a precaution not a gear towards war. Supreme Leader Lin Hua released a press statement stating, that the Central Committee was aware of foreign bases in several Razonican secessors. One of those bases for example is the Futrellian base in Razoria, which we here in the Revolutionary People's State have come to terms with since the last war.

Recently the Central Committee has learned of several more nations, who's looking to further expand their influence near our beloved mainland. One of these nations just so happens to be Nerodanus, a co-founder of the former Elvarya Entente (E2) along with Renova. According to the rumors going around the country, it is the so called Elvarya Commonwealth's latest chance at restoring peace to Aldes. It has been confirm that Neroian troops will be posted, within Novo Razcon who claims to be Imperial Razconia's official successor. Novo Razcon however falls short of our government's exception, as Razconia's official successor state our recognition goes to Razoria. You may be finding yourself asking the following question (How do you consider Razoria, as Imperial Razconia's official successor state?), will the answer is easy Razoria is the most stable successor state in Aldes.

Supreme Leader Lin Hua recently held a private interview, with us at her vacation home outside the capital city. Several topics were discussed during the interview, and the Supreme Leader let it be known what she was feeling. One heated topic for her was the Elvarya Commonwealth, a organization decaded to peace but has never really shown diplomacy. Yes there may be a Futrellian bases within their borders, but like all great allies its to help the locals build a strong defense force."

One is that they are not stable enough to be Razconia's official successor, and two the currently locked in a civil war with a rebel faction. Three and this is not just limited to Novo Razcon, but along with it's neighbor Dormior are classified according to Commonwealth reports as the two most aggressive in Aldes."

Revolutionary Times Reporter: "Now on to the last question Supreme Leader Hua, and that is how do you feel about the Elvarya Commonwealth?"

Supreme Leader Lin Hua: "In all honestly I do not know how I feel about the organization, clearly it needs to look over its definition of peace in my opinion. Sending in ground forces without giving diplomacy a chance, is not the way of preserving peace but to inflame the tension. Personally I am not in favor of a another war in Aldes, but this is clearly not the way to prevent it. We now see Elvarya needs a new organization, to possible help prevent another war a non-align movement. It is clear to us that the Commonwealth has a long road to improvement, especially it seems that their members are causing more and more of the trouble."

NEW CASTLE - This weekend, the nation of Caerion and Nerodanus entered into a trade war after Caerion raised tariffs on Nerodanus exports. In response, Nerodanus cut off all trade with Caerion and opened an investigation on Arkhonian involvement with the move to increase tariffs. The Arkhonian government today released an official statement that made clear that the Federal Government had no involvement with the increased tariffs on Nerodanus, and that Caerion's actions were purely independent.

Hours ago, the Chancellor addressed the international community:

"The Arkhon Federation was not given notice or was apart of the recent increase in tariffs the nation of Caerion imposed upon Nerodanus. Caerion's actions go against the Arkhonian policy of free and open trade, and the attack on free and open trade in the Pyik Sea is condemned by the Federal Government. Furthermore, with Arkhonian assets within the Pyik Sea, our interest in free and open trade in that region is magnified. Noting the unique relationship our nation has toward each of these two nations, our State Ministry will work to solve this issue to maximize trade in the Pyik Sea and to ensure free and open trade."

Privately, the Chancellor told the News Authority that the Arkhon Federation will open negotiations between the two nations in the Arkhonian Locus Island located in the Pyik Sea. The Negotiations will be held with the goal to maximize free trade in the Pyik Sea. The Chancellor also told the New Authority that the two fleets stationed on Locus Island will be mobilized to enforce free trade in that region. Given the nature of the deficiency of trade for Caerion, the Arkhon Federation will amp up ports on Locus Island to accommodate Neroian trade in the Pyik Sea. The Arkhon Federation will also fill the void of trade entering Caerion to continue Caerion's plan to industrialize.

In other news, with recent concerns coming from the nation of Renova on the string of Arkhonian bases currently being built on the Dormior-Razcon border, the Chancellor has invited the Renovan Government to tour the ten Arkhonian bases after their construction to settle any concerns of the bases functionality. The bases are being built to ensure peace and stability in the Aldes after recent tension between the Successor states caused the nation of Dormior to declare war on the nation of Novo Razcon. After talks occurred between both nations, they settled on Arkhonian intervention - enforcing the border between the two nations to maintain peace.

In domestic news, the election for the Federal Assembly is approaching, and election day is June 5th. Recent polls suggest that the Assembly will turn green once again, marking a comeback for the Occillo Party. The Occillo Party which is pro-slavery was hit hard in the 2012 election when the Viasus Party took control over the Assembly, Senate, and Chancellery. Since then, the Viasus Party has enacted social reform that has outlawed slavery, the caste system, and has given more entitlements to the lower classes while maintaining a true form of capitalism. The comeback of the Occillo Party will not shift the house to green, but, the majority the Viasus Party has maintained for the better part of the decade will decline.

Government Reforms to Monarchy

After the Royal Republic of Dormior declared war on Novo Razcon and the international community quickly went to work preventing the outbreak of warfare, the Supreme Leader of Novo Razcon decided it was necessary for a change; for the government's dictatorship to end. Effective immediately, the Monarchist Reform Act is in effect. The terms of the law are as follows:

1. The country shall be renamed "The Principality of Novo Razcon."

2. The title of the head of state and government shall be "Prince of Novo Razcon."

3. Full legislative power shall be granted to the Parliament. Any bill passed by Parliament becomes law should it have the approval of 151 of 300 members of Parliament, but the Prince holds a veto power the Parliament can override if it obtains a 2/3 majority vote.

4. The Parliament has the authority to elect an executive cabinet from a majority government, but its decisions must be approved by the Prince.

5. The Prince can only pass laws without Parliamentary consent in case of emergencies; in all other circumstances, a law requires the approval of 151 M.P's (members of Parliament).

6. The Parliament can control political parties if 3/4 of the current parties agree to an action.

7. The first action to be put through Parliament is a proposition to divide the Laerolkian Party into two, the Radical Laerolkian Party, which calls for the immediate downfall of the current government and the installation of the Legionary State, and the Loyalist Laerolkian Party, which simply wishes to pass legislation that supports the Legionary Fascist ideology. If the proposition passes, the former party is to be banned from Parliament while the latter can remain.

Hell has officially frozen over. Novo Razcon has made peace with its long-distant quasi-rival, Scain, after a short period of escalating tensions. The peace terms made between the two consist of Novo Razcon's leaving the Coalition occupying Scain and Scain's officially recognizing Novo Razcon as a sovereign state. In a press conference after the agreement between King Horatio of Scain and Prince Jason Lee I, the Prince stated that the arrangement was an excellent opportunity to secure world peace and help restore a damaged public opinion. In addition, the government is proposing to pay the Scainish private military corporation Cryhook Industries $1 billion in exchange for their support in the fight against the Legions of the Ever-Parents.

Recently, in response to the deployment of 61 Arkhonian Warships the Hanagan Self Defense Forces have entered DEFCON 2 and MONABA is put to 1, nearing number 0 or possibly -1 in the case of War. Two days ago the nation of Caerion, sold the Arkhon Federation their armed forces in exchange for funding and industrial development, as well as an indirect decrease in tensions with the nation of Nerodanus. This deal signaled the Arkhon Federation increasing naval presence in the Pyik Sea after attaining command of the three Caerion Fleets in that region. The Federation, a strong advocate for free and open trade, promised the world that Federal Ships, along with Caerion ships, will be stationed in the Pyik Sea to ward off offenses to any trading vessel traveling through that region. The deal sparked an expected opposition from the Neroian government who upheld anti-Arkhonian views in face of the positive Arkhonian diplomacy.

Yesterday, the Arkhonian Government learned over international news that the nation of Hanaga was deploying troops to fight a forty-four-year-old communist insurgency located in Northern Hanaga, close to the Pyik Sea. This insurgency which has lasted since 1975, and is now being fought against, presents a mild threat to the Sea's open trade policy. An insurgency that has had forty-four years to grow can impose a real threat to global trade, and therefore, the Arkhon Federation has deployed the First Arkhonian Fleet and the First Caerion Fleet to the coast of Northern Hanaga to defend against the flee or attack of this communist insurgency. The Arkhonian Government has also condemned the government of Hanaga for allowing a communist insurgency to operate within their borders for such a long time without solving it internally or asking for aid from the international community. The ETO (Elvaryan Trade Organization) has commended the Federation for their quick actions to settle the potential hazard to free and open trade that the communist insurgency presents and has thanked the Arkhonian Government for the assistance it has given to each nation and conglomerate that trades through the Pyik Sea.

Following the announcement from Caerion several days ago, the Arkhon Federation quickly swooped in to the area to protect their interest in improving relations with Nerodanus, having been claimed by the Nation of Caerion to be spreading anti-Neroian views. This was met with mixed approval from Neroian citizens, who could not decide if they were acting to cover up their actions in the fledgling state or were trying to prevent Caerion from spreading the lies. Though the Federation hoped their actions would spark Nerodanus to continue trade with Caerion, until Caerion issues a formal apology and withdraws their previous statements any and all trade to and from Caerion will not be allowed, nor direct flights on Neroian aircraft.

Following those actions the Federation issued a statement that they would be sailing military ships into the Pyik Sea, causing alarm to the nation of Hanaga. Following that, they claimed that they would be honoring a "deal" made with an entity that so far has been unnamed, then accused Nerodanus of sparking opposition and upholding "anti-Arkhonian views" despite giving a simple warning to remember their geopolitics. This warning came to light as the nation moved to DEFCON 2 and GOEST 1 following the Arkhonian announcement.

To these statements the Nation of Nerodanus has only these things to say. Until further notice, any and all Trade through the Pyik sea will end. Neroian Trade to nations in the Vestila Ocean and Northern Aldes will progress as normal going North through the Razma Tribes Territory instead of South and through the Pyik Sea. Trade with Hanaga will continue as normal as well, however no trade will come through their Pyik Sea ports. Nerodanus also warns the Arkhon Federation of keeping their Anti-Neroian viewpoints in check, and not spread them just as Nerodanus has with theirs to the Federation, at threat of ending the improving relations efforts between the two.

The Foreign Minister had this to say: "If the Federation is not going to show any signs of our relations improving, after coming to us about improving them, then it is wasted time and effort. Nerodanus offered a simple warning, with no threat behind it, to remember that their actions may make others in the Region worried. Now they accuse us of being anti-Arkhonian. If they want our efforts to be for naught, then they should say so."

Nerodanus has also assured Hanaga of its defensive agreement with them, claiming that if the Arkhon Federation violates their sovereignty and attacks them, or should any other nation do the same, Nerodanus will come to their Aid.

Hanaga is set to add 300 megawatts of wind capacity - enough to power more than 100,000 average homes - in the 12 months through March, Hanaga’s Wind Power Association said in a study released late last month. Some 157 megawatts of wind power were installed in the previous year. The agency didn't estimate how much has been invested in the new turbines, but the figures underline the pace of wind power's development in Hanaga since the Higata Nuclear Disaster triggered a drive to develop new energy sources.

“The projects that started environmental assessments at the end of last year exceeded 10 gigawatts,” the association said in the study. “If these projects go smoothly, it is possible that achieving the 10 gigawatt capacity is quite possible in the early 2020s.” A capacity of 10 gigawatts would be triple the nearly 3.4 gigawatts that the wind power association estimates will be installed in Hanaga by end-March.

While that 3.4 gigawatts represent just 1.5 percent of the country’s overall installed capacity - and solar power accounts for more than 90 percent of Hanaga’s renewable capacity - the wind industry is betting on strong growth to continue. The association projects wind power capacity is set to rise more than tenfold to 36.2 gigawatts by 2021, depending on environmental assessments and acceptable grid capacity. A major factor behind this year’s surge came last May, when the government relaxed rules for building turbines offshore in the country’s harbors and ports.

Wind operators also still benefit for comparatively higher prices for their power under a feed-in-tariff scheme introduced in 2012, where certain renewable suppliers get guaranteed rates based on source of input. But Kyoto’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will cut the feed-in-tariff for large wind power projects to 21 yen per 1 kWh from Oct. 1 in the business year starting in May from 22 yen now, taking into account a decline in costs over time. The rate for offshore wind power was kept at 36 yen.

Wind operators in Hanaga have long complained about the country’s requirement for environmental impact studies that can take as long as five years to complete, as well as other impediments to investment. Artificial intelligence (AI) has already transformed our lives — from the autonomous cars on the roads to the robotic vacuums and smart thermostats in our homes. Over the next 15 years, AI technologies will continue to make inroads in nearly every area of our lives, from education to entertainment, health care to security.

The question is, are we ready? Do we have the answers to the legal and ethical quandaries that will certainly arise from the increasing integration of AI into our daily lives? Are we even asking the right questions?

Now, a panel of academics and industry thinkers has looked ahead to 2030 to forecast how advances in AI might affect life in a typical Vardesian city and spark discussion about how to ensure the safe, fair, and beneficial development of these rapidly developing technologies.

“Artificial Intelligence and Life in 2030” is the first product of the One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100), an ongoing project hosted by Southern Edesus University to inform debate and provide guidance on the ethical development of smart software, sensors, and machines. Every five years for the next 100 years, the AI100 project will release a report that evaluates the status of AI technologies and their potential impact on the world.

Barbara Gossins, the Professor of Natural Sciences at the Edward C. Smith School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, chairs the AI100 Standing Committee. Tackling the ethical and legal quandaries of artificial intelligence with AI pioneer and SEAS professor Barbara Gossins

“Now is the time to consider the design, ethical, and policy challenges that AI technologies raise,” said Gossins. “If we tackle these issues now and take them seriously, we will have systems that are better designed in the future and more appropriate policies to guide their use.”

“We believe specialized AI applications will become both increasingly common and more useful by 2030, improving our economy and quality of life,” said Peter Stone, a computer scientist at the University of Irsatus, and chair of the report. “But this technology will also create profound challenges, affecting jobs and incomes and other issues that we should begin addressing now to ensure that the benefits of AI are broadly shared.”

The report investigates eight areas of human activity in which AI technologies are already affecting urban life and will be even more pervasive by 2030: transportation, home/service robots, health care, education, entertainment, low-resource communities, public safety and security, employment, and the workplace.

Some of the biggest challenges in the next 15 years will be creating safe and reliable hardware for autonomous cars and health care robots; gaining public trust for AI systems, especially in low-resource communities; and overcoming fears that the technology will marginalize humans in the workplace. Issues of liability and accountability also arise with questions such as: Who is responsible when a self-driven car crashes or an intelligent medical device fails? How can we prevent AI applications from being used for racial discrimination or financial cheating?

The report doesn’t offer solutions but rather is intended to start a conversation between scientists, ethicists, policymakers, industry leaders, and the general public.

Gossins said she hopes the AI 100 report “initiates a century-long conversation about ways AI-enhanced technologies might be shaped to improve life and societies.”

It has been confirmed by certain members of the Office of the President that President Kaelyn Masters has been in communication with Sokuji Kado, current Prime Minister of Fuso. Chief of Staff Bryan Stewart has confirmed that President Masters indicates that she wishes to form trade pacts with the isolationist island nation in hopes that Futrellia will gain a close ally on the home continent. President Masters is set to leave for Fuso tomorrow morning after a brief cabinet meeting on the fiscal budget allotments for the 3rd quarter of 2019.

"It's the hopes of the President that trade can begin as early as two weeks from now, trading the natural resources of Futrellia with Fuso. (EXIA) The anticipated arrival of the Futrellian President comes ahead of the nation's energy summit for it's decade long booming tech giants. Of course this was the first state visit of the year by a foreign nation. As the Deputy Minister welcomes the Futrellian President, her motorcade is escorted by both her service agents and the Edo Metropolitan Police. Many would cheer as the motorcade pass by, before they arrived at a restricted area and then into the Prime Minister's office, the Kantei. From there, the two head of states would greet, exchange hands and pose for the wild, impatient press both domestic and international. The shots of these two leaders would be placed in history books as a new era of development and cooperation for these two nations, and of the world as well.

Out of the public's eyes and into the meeting conference, discussions in regards to strengthening trades between the two nations were given a green check, which officially opens up once both sides agreed with a trade pact. This would benefit markets from both sides, especially in regards to natural resources, of which Futrellia is rich of it. Future discussions will later be done this year in regards of more economic, trade developments, defense and other matters as relations starts on a straight line of positivity and Embassies having their inaugural day of being opened. Once these discussions were finished, a joint press conference is opened, just before the two leaders would then depart to engage in visits of public places, schools and other areas, a common courtesy of diplomatic practice made by many leaders of their own nations. As President Masters leave Fuso the following days after, an official within the Prime Minister's office stated that Kado may visit other nations for similar talks.

Earlier today in the hinterlands of Tadbu the first wave of Army Air Cavelry troops hit the ground running. The 202nd Air Cavalry company is reported to have engaged a force of Black Lions Guerillas. The New Scottish Army office has declined to issue official figures on the result of the battle. These men are the first troops to be deployed in the region after Imperial President Horatio announced that we will "Strike at the 'terrorist scum'". It is reported that the army is going to step up operations as a result of the battle with more boots on the ground all across Tadbu. UPDATE The NSA office has announced that the 202nd Air Cavalry company took heavy casualties and a response force was sent. It is rumored that President Horatio's adopted son, Colonel Julius Atholl, is leading the response force personally. Following the earlier announcement of the invasion riots began in Tadbuese neighborhoods across the nation. Imperial President Horatio has yet to issue a statement regarding the battle or the subsequent riots but there is a growing belief that the Tadbuese in the mainland of the nation should be investigated for having ties to the Black Lions. UPDATE 5:00 PM Imperial President Horatio released a statement confirming that his son is leading the response force. NEW CASTLE - As tensions continue to escalate in the Pyik Sea the Arkhon Federation is seeking to resolve the issue before it descends into war. Extra Arkhonian diplomats have been deployed to Hanaga and Varisis, while current diplomats in Nerodanus continue to work with the Neroian government to patch together a comprehensive agreement that benefits all who trade through the Pyik Sea. Since no agreement has been reached thus far, the Arkhon Federation will maintain a Bi-Fleet Policy in the Pyik and pressure on Hanaga's northern coast with the First Caerion Fleet. The Arkhon Federation will also continue to support the nation of Varisis and their decision to move one of their fleets into the Pyik Sea. As the Pyik Sea is international water, every Nation and organization has the authority to operate in the Pyik Sea, and any attempt to deny entry into the Pyik Sea would be considered an act of aggression directed toward any nation with a policy on free and open trade and would, therefore, be cause for war. To enforce the free entry of every vessel traveling into Pyik Sea, the Federation will send a flotilla to each Pyik Straight.

Although tensions are growing, the Arkhon Federation is working hard to settle this issue for the betterment of all parties involved. The Federation has been working closely with the Neroian government - and while the negotiations have been behind doors, reports are saying that the two nations are close to an agreement. From confirmed leaks, the Federation is working to maintain the freedom of the Pyik Sea from any and all nations that try to close the Pyik Sea to other nations or organizations. The Arkhonian Government would like to see that the Pyik Straights are not controlled by one nation and rather operated by a world organization such as the ETO (Elvayan Trade Organization). This would guarantee that all nations and organizations benefit from free trade in the Pyik with no worry of tariffs or militant closure. Cassada, Theoni - This morning at 4:36 am, Imperial Dominion News received word from sources within the Aula Caesarea, that Emperor Titus Minea VIII, the beloved who reigned for 80 years has passed away peacefully in his sleep. The entirety of the House of Minea was within the Aula Caesarea as the Royal Doctors determined that His Majesty's health would not last through the night. Empress Consort Hylia Minea, Heir Apparent Prince Casus Minea, and Princess Hayley Minea, were all present to watch His Majesty take his last breath. As of 6:45 pm today, the Emperor's Funeral was small and quiet, all video cameras were banned, only allowing quiet photographers from only a handful of news agencies, including IDN. The country mourns as Empress Consort Hylia Minea will release control of the Imperial government and Prince Casus Minea will be named the next Emperor of the Kaladian Empire.

"The entirety of the country is deeply saddened by this loss. His Majesty always ruled with a steady and safe hand. He placed his country ahead of himself, that's not something many rulers in our past can claim to be. He was a great man and he will be surely missed. I hope to serve the best I can, to honor him." Prince Casus Minea, Emperor Titus's son, will inherit the Throne in the coming days and will assume control as the head of state for the Kaladian Empire.
