PT, it says so in the IC thread. The tech levels will gradually increase as the RP continues through the years.

A better question then would be what era is it in that case, it says sailing so I'd assume it's pre-1800 at least. Going off that it's anywhere from the late 1400s to 1800 since America was rediscovered around 1485 and by 1800 steam power was being experimented with for moving a ship, this also tells us how prolific gunpowder weapons are as by 1700 musket formations stopped having pikemen attached but in the mid-late 1300s you would have at most a handful of early canon,if it's earlier than that then you would lack any form of gunpowder weapons bar barrels of the stuff. Your mention of people favouring more urban (though that term never came about until the late 1800s at earliest) areas suggests somewhere around 1600-1700 to account for advances in agriculture and an increase in trade allowing more people to be supported in said large towns and cities.

Apologies for probably overanalysing, when I took history we focused intently on the factors of why people moved to the cities and such. It's also my nature to just overanalyse most things.
