Steingen Wohlhabenvolk!

Wohlhaben Soldiers firing upon rebel positions

At the turn of the 20th century, Daitschland, alongside various European powers set up colonies in the continent of Afrika. From the searing deserts to the mild southern tip, from the humid jungles to the frigid taiga upon Mount Jaqueson, the diverse, and multi-faceted continent was slowly and slowly chipped away by the artificial borders of countless European powers. For Daitschland, the gem of their conquests was the land of Wohlhabenvolk. Rich in petroleum, diamonds and gold, with ample living space and a sizable working population, the land was ripe for emigration and ethnic Daitsch conquest. Indeed, other than the Organized States, the second largest home for the Daitsch diaspora was the land of Wohlhabenvolk, with 37.4% of their population being ethnic Daitsch, and another 12% being mixed between the countless other ethnic groups which entered the burgeoning land for employment opportunities, and the native Kyuko people.

In the year 1963, the colony unilaterally declared independence from Daitschland. In spite of being an unrecognized state, its wealth in natural resources, and prime location did not hamper its acceptance of countless immigrants from Europe, or its trading horizons. The new government, founded by Governor-General Anders Willhelm restricted voting to literate citizens, meaning that the largely uneducated native Kyuko, who comprised 95% of the lower classes of the land were once again oppressed, unable to have a vote. The literacy law functioned as it intended, and ensured that whites were the absolute majority of the electorate, being around 98% of the voting population, with the 2% being comprised of the top 0.05% of the Kyuko people and groups of highly educated nonwhites from other parts of the world. This implicit white supremacy quickly stirred rebellion amongst the Kyuko people, with two major rebellious groups: OKF: The Organization for Kyuko Freedom, a moderate group only asking for enfranchisement and equal civil rights, and the Marxist, far-left Kyuko Supremacist KLA: The Kyuko Liberation front, wanting to rename the nation Kionga and wishing for the deportation of non-Kyukos from the country.

In the year 1991, after 28 years of small-scale guerrilla warfare and terrorist attacks, the Wohlhaben Bush War was set into motion, with the OKF and the KLA waging their separate, and often conflicting military campaigns against the Wohlhaben government. However, with the Wohlhaben government's continued white supremacist enfranchisement laws, international forces chose not to intervene. 12 years later in 2003, the OKF, after years of fighting in the countryside negotiated the Treaty of Aginstaad, which guaranteed universal enfranchisement for all Wohlhaben citizens and equal civil rights. The OKF ended their conflict and cheered, as citizens black and white rejoiced the end of the Bush War.

The nations of the world soon recognized Wohlhabenvolk, and the Big Three, The Organized States, Coldwater and West Aurelia established close military, diplomatic and economic ties with the wealthy and highly skilled nation.

However, for the KLA, the story was different, for they wished for a Marxist, all-Kyuko state where non-Kyukos would be deported, and where Capitalist system will be abolished. Far-left, yet powerful elements of the Huaxian Military and Politburo, seeing this as an opportunity to set a foothold in Africa begins to secretly train and fund the KLA with their own elite Special Forces: seasoned in their experiences fighting Muslim and Buddhist rebels in western Huaxia. Training the KLA in marksmanship, military tactics, grand campaign strategy and martial arts, the KLA gained strength, and prowess as resentful Kyukos in the rural parts of Wohlhabenvolk join the ranks.

In 2014, after years of secretly training in Huaxia and in their own safehouses, in the rural and often unpatrolled countryside, the KLA struck the prosperous nation of 100 million once more, hitting the capital of Aginstaad in a surprise, yet highly coordinated and deadly terrorist attack, killing 1,200 citizens as similar attacks were orchestrated nationwide, in both wealthy Kyuko and white communities, to much damage and fear. The Second Bush War has begun, and the KLA is now a formidable threat.

Two years later in 2016, the KLA is still at large, albeit waning in power. Its capacities have been seemingly flushed out, however on March 3rd, 2016, Aginstaad was struck a second time, collapsing the Parliament building and killing 750, as a new organized campaign upon the city of Aginstaad begun. According to intelligence sources, the new hardline elements of the Huaxian government helped rebuild the KLA and orchestrate the attack, and with this attack, the Big Three are on the verge of military intervention, whilst Huaxia teeters on the edge of a full-scale invasion.

March 3rd, 2016, 8:32AM

Fort Ironwood, Shadowville, the Republic of Coldwater

Fort Ironwood was a sprawling campus, with its secure air defenses, 24/7 patrolling men, security cameras, tanks, artillery, jets and even an underground artificial farm, to ensure self-sustainability in the case of a national disaster. Most of the fort was underground, hidden away from public view, as it stationed the I Corps of the Capital Defense Force, 12,000 men all living and functioning in this impenetrable fortress. Like the House of Ironwood, its namesake more than millennia ago, it was truly at the vanguard of national defense.

Yet, this fort also had the best communications in the entire nation, a perfect center for directing national security operations, coordinating with allies and ensuring the safety of Coldwater. It would monitor the intelligence feed of reconnaissance aircraft, high-altitude balloons, satellites and far more, the nexus, the heart of Coldwateran nation defense.

As another day in the office functioned, a secretary ran into the situation room with her six folders, and laptop. She quickly tapped on General Richard Jackson, the presiding of the Coldwateran Defense Council, the group of the 36 most highly ranked officers in the military that advised the President, the Senate and the Ministry of Defense on the national defense situation of the nation. Jackson slowly turned to her, and the secretary, lifting a thin, teal folder said "This is urgent". Jackson nodded and opened the folder as he walked, and on it, it detailed a new effort by the KLA to secure Aginstaad and end the democratic Wohlhaben government. Jackson then pulled up a phone, and said "Assemble the Defense Council"

10:55AM

Defense Council Meeting

In a grim room, with its beige wallpaper and modern light, its luminescent television and its six telephones, equidistant on the long, conference table that was the Defense Council, General Jackson sat on the end, and tapped his microphone to ensure it worked. On the other end was a camera, streaming through an encrypted stream to both the President, and the entire body of the Senate. Then, he sounded off.

"Today, I was notified by Military and Civil intelligence of a....reinvigoration in the situation in Wohlhabenvolk. The KLA, a radical Kyuko Supremacist group has re-initiated efforts to take Aginstaad, the capital through an offensive push, after a recuperation. Chances are, they are supported by the People's Republic of Huaxia, a nation we refuse to recognize since the illegitimate military coup that ended the civil government, one that wished to liberalize the markets and free the nation. Nonetheless, they remain a legitimate threat to our national security, and the security of our allies. As such, the Council is recommending a full senatorial authorization of military power under Article VI of the Coldwateran Constitution against the KLA and its allies, if they choose to directly intervene"

The council nodded in approval, and as such, the Senate quickly moved to voting, with no debate beforehand. It was precedent for Congress to be briefed by the Council and then decide their course of action.

13:12PM

Today, Senator Samuel Erikwood of Calhounshire, the majority whip was here to take the honors. He, hitting the button before all else rose to the occasion, just as the President recognized him to the floor. Standing tall, at 6 foot 2 inches, he was an imposing over many Coldwaterans. He said so simply "I, as the honorable senator from the great state of Calhounshire motion for an authorization of military force against the KLA". The President, in his slow, monotonous voice responded "That will be an order, for all those who wish to vote in favor of this motion, say 'aye'"

A loud "aye", almost simultaneous echoed across the chamber and into the ears of the registrar

To those who wish to dismiss this motion, please say "nay".

Towards the back, one young woman, a newly elected Senator from Aegis yelled a "nay", as all members of the senate look backwards, to see this often disregarded, and irrelevant senator.

"With a large majority, we have authorized military action against the situation in Wohlhabenvolk in regard to the KLA".

Like that, in such a slick, simple move, the nation of Coldwater, with its history of diplomatic neutrality was here to fight for the security of a major trade and diplomatic partner, but at what cost? Shall Huaxia join the fight? Will Coldwater be forced to flagrantly disregard their proud heritage? To that, only time will tell

3:00PM

Fort Stonewall

Named after a famous general who held a line that ensured the victory of his army, Fort Stonewall was the primary center for rapid, foreign deployments in the state of Hyghloch, an ancient feudal kingdom that has a proud heritage of fighting against the House of Ironwood, even when they united Coldwater and seized their land. Home to the Coldwateran Army Rangers, the go-to deployment unit of any rapid-response situation such as the case with the KLA, and also the III Corps of the Army of the West, the major military unit that is stationed in the western section of Coldwater.

Under orders of President Clarence Norman, the First Division of the Army Rangers, and the Third Division of the III Corps are to be airlifed to Wohlhabenvolk, and as soon as the order was sounded, the men and women of the fort quickly jockeyed to pack as they said goodbye to their families. Those who were off duty were called back in in a push of a button, whilst refueling trucks fuel herculean cargo planes, multirole fighter jets zoom into the sky and logistic workers load ammunition, food, spare clothes, tents, and countless other military resources into the planes. Truly, it was like an ant colony, working in tandem, with unparalleled discipline and vigor.

By the next day, both divisions were airborne, and headed towards Wohlhabenvolk.

March 4th, 12:32PM, over KLA Territory

Twelve CF-37s zoomed through the air at breakneck speed, slightly above Mach 1.05, the maximum speed for its stealthy armaments bay to open. This was the preliminary stage of the day, as Coldwateran jets would take down useful infrastructure to the KLA, and hit any locations possible for anti-aircraft guns: a security threat for the descend upon Aginstaad International Airport. It was a cloudless, blue-skyed day, with little wind and low humidity, standard for the semi-arid nature of Wohlhabenvolk. Great for cash crops, not so great for the people as they languish in the searing heat. Yet, for pilots, it means flying at high altitudes and still getting a good picture of what is going on. CMI Agents at the Coldwateran Embassy have already marked likely, and confirmed locations for anti-aircraft guns. It was on the digital maps in each cockpit, and as they near, they arm their air-surface missiles, and under the command of the capital, a volley of 48 laser guisded surface-to-ground missiles exited from those tiny dots in the air, and slammed into the ground, causing much explosion and carnage in KLA cities and towns, as rubble and shrapnel fly everywhere.

"Hits confirmed" said the Captain as the jets fly to Aginstaad International Airport

5:44PM
By afternoon, all cargo aircraft from Coldwater had arrived in Aginstaad, as soldiers exit to a small reception and setup barracks in the old, and unused terminal dating back to the Great War, where it housed supplies, and troops from both the Daitsch, and from opposing powers once they temporarily got hold of Aginstaad. Today, foreign troops step in once more as they setup their barracks, for tomorrow, conflict shall begin.

9:12PM

Four retrofitted Boeing 777s, painted in a slick black, and without its lights on cruised at 46,000 feet as the night sets in. Less than nine hours ago, a volley of tactical bombings shook the cities, except this time, it held people, St. Kildran's Sharpshooters to be exact, a small group of men trained in asymmetric warfare, close reconnaissance and scorched warfare tactics, designed to go behind enemy lines and cause trouble. A rebel unit in the civil war, its tactics of covert warfare won it much fame as it countlessly destroyed enemy infrastructure, and hit enemies in the rear, whilst serving as reconnaissance units. Most famously, it led a daring raid into a commanding General's quarters, and arrested him as they woke him. Now, they were here to fight once more, except this time like the KLA, unconventional, unorthodox, but most definitely deadly.

Soon, they all jumped in the digital camouflage and dark parachutes, perfect anti-air targets, except with most guns gone, there was little to worry about, for now, they were ready to raise some hell.

Beijing
People's Republic of Huaxia

The Hongqi HQE limousine bore down one of the main highways that intersected the city of Beijing, capital of the People's Republic of Huaxia and seat of the Central Government. In front and behind the Hongqi, Audi A8 L Security vehicles, packed with bodyguards recruited extensively from Unit 8341, the security detail responsible for guarding the political leadership, followed closely beside their VIP. Motorcycle outriders swept the roads ahead, their police sirens wailing for all to hear, in order to clear any civilian traffic from obstructing the path of the motorcade. The Hongqi HQE bore the state flags of Huaxia, while its licence plate was marked only by the numbers "00001". Not even an country bumpkin fresh from the rural countryside could fail to recognise the significance of these numbers, for they denoted the official state car of the Huaxian Head of Government.

Inside the Hongqi, Grand Marshal Xu Honghui, Chief Commander and Generalissimo of the People's Liberation Army proper, Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Premier of the State Council, was busily poring through the latest reports from all across the country detailing the recent progress of Huaxia's socio-economic growth and development. Though age had taken it's toll on the Grand Marshal, now in his late sixties and showing early stages of balding, the Chief Executive of Huaxia remained as wily and perceptive as ever, losing none of that cold-hearted Machiavellian instinct that brought him to power twenty-odd years ago in 1990.

Xu Honghui was born the scion of a family of military officers in 1953. His father had served in the Huaxian Red Army since it's inception, first against the Japanese invaders who sought to conquer Huaxia for themselves in 1937, and then subsequently against its Nationalist rivals in the NPP during the Huaxian Civil War. By the time the guns fell silent, the elder Xu had climbed the ranks to become a General in the PLA. Two uncles had served in the rival NPP, eventually defecting once they realised which way the wind was blowing during the Civil War. Consequentially, Xu Honghui grew up following in his father's footsteps, enlisting in the PLA by the age of 18 and, through a combination of hard work and a little of his father's connections in the military, began a steady climb up the ranks of the PLA after being commissioned as a Lieutenant. Yet Xu Honghui was no mere pampered "princeling" unlike some of his other colleagues who used their familial influence and connections to bag lucrative military commissions and postings for themselves with scarcely any real effort put into their careers. The young officer had read extensively on Western and Soviet military manuals and publications on the latest developments in military technology, despite the fact that possession of such material constituted a state felony. Gradually, Xu Honghui, like many of his peers in the PLA, came to the conclusion that the military was in urgent need of reorganisation and reform. Putting forward his case bluntly and frankly in scores of memoranda and reports to his superiors and colleagues throughout the PLA, then-Colonel Xu soon managed to gather a small following of like-minded officers frustrated with the embarrassing performance of the PLA in the Tiantangdao Campaign and the border conflicts with the Soviet Union and Vietnam. Eventually in 1981, a newly-promoted Brigadier Xu was assigned to the General Staff Department of the PLA, thus allowing him to apply his theories to work. He was helped by the fact that the Party was likewise engaged in a serious course of economic reform in Huaxia during the 1980s.

Since the conclusion of the Civil War, the Communist Party eventually came to by the 1907s that the socialist command economy that had become a fabric of Huaxian economic activity was grossly inefficient and incapable of furthering Huaxia's economic development. Inefficient nations were eventually conquered sooner or later. The failure of the Socialist High Tide prompted reform-minded leading cadres and Party elders to begin experimenting with liberal market policies and reforms, starting with agriculture in Huaxia. So successful were the initial reforms that the Party proceeded to gradually liberalise other sectors of the Huaxian economy. The newfound government revenue that was generated from this was funnelled into boosting healthcare, education as well as infrastructural development in Huaxia, while considerable monies also went to the PLA as part of ongoing efforts aimed at modernising the PLA. Yet the economic success of Huaxia's economic reforms generated a whole set of different social problems, from rampant corruption, to rising income and social inequality, to an increasingly educated and disenchanted populace that no longer saw any reason to prop up the autocratic political system of one-party rule. Accordingly, political discontentment manifested itself into the landmark Tiananmen Square Protests of 1989, led by student leaders and members of the Huaxian intelligentsia, who began calling for the liberalisation of the political system, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the release of political prisoners and other such tidbits.

The ostensibly peaceful demonstration marked the first overt challenge toward's the Party's monopolistic grip on power in Huaxia. Over the following days, hardliners clashed with reformists over the Party's response towards the demonstrators, while the protests began to attract considerable attention and sympathy nationwide and even across the world. Eventually, with the support of the army, the Politburo finally agreed to use force to put down the protests, authorising PLA commanders to root out the traitors with lethal force if necessary. The Army duly obliged, clearing out Tiananmen Square with tanks and infantry fighting vehicles blasting away at any civilian caught in their gunsights while soldiers followed behind in support. Total casualties were officially estimated at 145 dead and 376 wounded, though the real figures were ludicrously higher. Yet the crushing of the protests backfired immensely as scores of copycat demonstrations erupted across Huaxia. Riots began breaking out throughout the country, even affecting more affluent places such as Shanghai and Suzhou, overwhelming increasingly beleaguered security forces. Disillusioned Party cadres resigned en masse, depleting the grassroots of the Communist Party. Reports even emerged of defections and mutinies in the PLA and the Militia, though these were heavily suppressed by the People's Armed Police and the dreaded 国安部 (Guó'ānbù; Ministry of State Security).

The Politburo reacted as ferociously as it could, tightening nationwide censorship while ordering the mass incarceration and detention of demonstrators and other such anti-state agitators. At the same time however, with certain quarters of the Party recoiling at the carnage in the wake of the Tiananmen Protests, the Party attempted to offer concessions to appease the demonstrators, promising to crack down on corruption while permitting some local elections. The hot-and-cold approach of the Party only emboldened the demonstrators even further, who now called for nothing less than the overthrow of Communist rule in Huaxia, while angering the security forces who viewed such actions as wholly unconducive and undermining their efforts to restore public tranquility in Huaxia. As the country slid even closer to civil war and the top echelon continued to bicker amongst themselves, leading members of the PLA and Huaxia's security organs began meeting discreetly to discuss what measures could be taken to rectify the deteriorating situation in Huaxia. Under the leadership of Marshal Liáng Ye, Minister of National Defence, the PLA and the Guó'ānbù decided to launch a coup against the Central Government to push the spoilt old men in Zhongnanhai out of the way....

Grand Marshal Xu Honghui's thoughts were rudely interrupted as the limousine turned onto Chang'an Avenue before pulling up into the Xinhua Gate, the main entrance to Zhongnanhai, the government compound of the Central Government and the seat of the Communist Party as well as the State Council. Armed sentries could be seen patrolling the outskirts and the streets surrounding the Xinhua Gate, together with dog handlers and their Alsatian charges. The red-hued building boasted two Chinese slogans on either side of the main entrance, first written in the aftermath of the Huaxian Civil War and the victory of the Communist Party. Though Huaxia was now in fact run by the Generals, the slogans remained as a token homage to Huaxia's Socialist past. Further inside, a red opaque screen, also emblazoned with another evolutionary slogan ensured that no prying tourists or local eyes would be able to get a glimpse of the inner compound. Without further delay, Grand Marshal Xu stepped out of the Hongqi and strutted towards the main entrance, the sentries saluting as he walked past them. Waiting to receive the Grand Marshal was State Councillor Yi Róng, one of the Marshal's closest aides and confidante in political matters. Rivals labelled him an office-boy, though their criticisms failed to take into account the Machiavellian instincts of the Councillor that allowed him to survive the numerous purges and political power plays since 1989.

"Your Excellency, the State Council is ready and awaiting your arrival. I have the agenda for the plenary session here, you will see that the rest of the Council members intend to discuss the growing energy crisis in Huaxia." State Councillor Yi began to speak as he fell in line behind the Grand Marshal.

"Good, where is the State President?"

"Meeting with some regional delegates from Inner Mongolia. They're petitioning the Central Government to allow them greater cultural and linguistic freedom and autonomy with regards to the use of the Mongolian script. The President decided to look into their petitions and meet them in person."

All the better, thought Grand Marshal Xu.

"The further the State President is kept away from government affairs, the better. I don't want that simpleton complicating matters with his presence here."

As the duo continued to travel through the various pavilions and lakes that marked the interior of Zhongnanhai, they soon found themselves in another red-coloured building, the main administrative headquarters of the State Council of Huaxia. White-gloved attendants quickly directed the two and their entourage towards one of the larger meeting rooms where one could faintly hear the sounds of muffled conversation. Without further delay, two attendants guarding the doors to the meeting room immediately opened them while the Grand Marshal strolled in, followed by State Councillor Yi. The rest of the State Council, already present for the past twenty minutes, immediately rose from their seats to greet their supreme leader.
Imperium Sidhicum wrote:So, uh... Is this another one of those threads where everyone is supposed to feel outraged and circle-jerk in agreement of how injust and terrible the described incident is?

Because if it is, I'm probably going to say something mean and contrary just to contradict the majority.

This nation is now IC-ly known as the Teutonic Reich.

Sergeant Ewugume Wajimba, Second KLA Division, March 5th, 6:01AM, KLA-Occupied Wohlhabenvolk

The sun was rising from the azure main as the once dark sky was slowly dyed with streaks of orange, originating from that illuminating orb, granting warmth, light, and inspiration for the 7 billion that live on this earth. For Sergeant Wajimba, this was his platoon's first hour of work, after waking up at 5:00AM and being ready at 5:15 for their daily patrol. Patrols largely consisted of rounding up white Wohlhabens and sending them off to officials, arresting tribesmen loyal to the government, and of course, fighting off the somewhat common incursion upon territory. After all, they were only six miles from the front lines, and as far as they know, at a minute's notice, any whiteface might just pop up and start shooting at them.

Sergeant Wajimba knew that all too well, serving in the Wohlhaben Army for a few years before defecting to the KLA, finding the whites a threat to his people. He gave up his somewhat comfortable life in the city of Davidson to come to join the KLA, but due to his professional experience, he is now a Sergeant, on the second month of the job. His men loved him, as he instilled some otherwise absent discipline into his ragtag men, and under his patronage, his platoon was the most furious and effective in the entire regiment, known for their unrelenting nature and brutality towards the enemy.

Yet today, they face a different foe. As Wajimba's men secure an old, beleaguered farmhouse with a few lights still on, a few shots were heard in the distance as the men quickly lifted their Huaxian Kalashnikovs and fired at the direction they were fired upon. For Wajimba himself, he quickly ducked behind a small rock and hoisted his old Soviet AKM, a gun he used in both the Wohlhaben Army and in the KLM. As he kept on firing, troops in digital camouflage emerged from the woods, equipped with foreign weapons, they attacked with great ferocity and accuracy, as their bullets hit one of his men, who fall down right next to him, bleeding.

Wajimba looked at him, and identified him as Private Vonatus, and quickly dragged him behind the rock, before jumping up and firing a quick, well-aimed burst of four rounds at an enemy soldier. The soldier summarily fell to the ground as he bleeded, whilst a friend dragged him behind a tree for medical attention.

Corporal Doug Underwood, St. Kildran's Sharpshooters, Coldwateran Army Rangers, 6:20AM, KLA-occupied territory

Doug dragged his teammate, Private Jackson behind a tree as he fired from his pistol, until it can fire no more. Then, he let out a quick sigh of relief as he unstrapped his rifle and came back into the fray, just as a medic began patching up the shoulder wound of Jackson. He spotted around a dozen KLA soldiers, hiding behind a small stone wall, a few rocks and a few bushes, popping out every few seconds to level a cheap shot, or laying down some suppressing fire. These men were not some ragtag group, but rather well-trained, knowing basic military doctrine as they attempted to leapfrog upon the Coldwateran position. Corporal Underwood fired one round at the enemy, but it did nothing as the man charged up to Underwood. Underwood, shocked instinctively dodged the attack as his rifle dropped. He grabbed his pistol and aimed it right at the man, only to hear a small 'click' sound. Yelling "Fuck!" as loud as he can, he pulled out his knife and ran towards the KLA soldier, attempting to stab him, only for the KLA soldier to knee him in the abdomen, jolting Underwood back and to the grond. Underwood, crawling back felt the buttstock of his rifle as he instantly grabbed it and fired two rounds into the soldier.

The KLA soldier fell to the ground, this time dead as Underwood felt something hit his helmet. He turned around and aimed, but before he can fire, a bullet hit him, right in the neck, piercing his veins and spilling out large quantities of blood and ripping human tissue. He died before he knew what was going on just as two men fired at the soldier. The KLA attack was beaten back, merely by the fact that Coldwaterans were hiding in the foliage of the woods, able to hide from fire whilst the KLA had to attack at an incline, and faced with overwhelming odds. The Sharpshooters chose not to pursue, knowing that they cannot risk their envelopment. They were now to mark through these woodlands and upon a small KLA controlled town in a daring raid, to seize it, defeat KLA forces there, and disrupt logistics.

Zhongnanhai
Beijing
People's Republic of Huaxia

"In Huaxia, commodities are everything." The Development Commissioner, a short squarish man with fierce-looking eyes by the name of Wèi Xiaobo, began as he opened the plenary session of the State Council with a few introductory remarks.

The meeting of the State Council had begun immediately after the Grand Marshal had joined his cabinet colleagues. Dispensing with the usual formalities, Grand Marshal Xu requested an immediate roll-call to ensure that the State Council was in quorum before the meeting was underway. Most of the Central Government Ministers and Chairmen of the various Commissions and State Agencies were present save for the Minister of Culture and two Vice-Premiers, not that their absence mattered much in the grand scheme of things.

The State Council of the People's Republic of Huaxia was the second-highest administrative body in the Central Government of Huaxia, after the Central Military Commission, and the equivalent of a Western Government Cabinet. It's existence had long been established since the 1950s by the Communist Party, which had sought then to maintain the facade of a non-ideological, political neutral, executive agency in Huaxia, though in reality it served as a convenient rubber-stamp for all decisions made by the Politburo and the Central Committee of the Party. After the June 15 Incident, the importance and authority of the State Council had increased somewhat as the Generals, desiring a more stable political structure that excluded political power from the hands of the Communists, began placing greater political authority and emphasis on State Council decisions and policies. Though the Central Military Commission of Huaxia remained the supreme authority in the land, the Generals recognised that they themselves lacked the expertise to effectively govern Huaxia and that they needed legitimate governing entities as front organisations that were presentable enough for the common folk and accordingly, began stacking the State Council with technocrats and apolitical but loyal mandarins to ensure that Huaxia's development would continue unhindered but under the guiding influence of the PLA. It was a heavily complicated system, but one that suited the Generals. Now, the State Council handled all day-to-day administrative matters in the People's Republic and was responsible for formulating economic and social policy, such as furnishing the State Budget, the Five-Year plans, as well as ensuring the steady progress of the Four Modernisations, while also drafting legislative bills to be passed in the NPC. Thornier questions of national security, foreign policy and military matters were left to the CMC.

"As I was saying, Huaxia now depends heavily on commodities such as crude oil, aluminium, rubber, palm oil and other assorted raw materials. Commodities are the lifeblood of the People's Republic. Our factories depend on iron ore and aluminium to furnish the necessary manufactured products that our economy exports, the PLA and our transportation and energy networks rely on crude oil, agricultural products such as rice, grain and soy feed our cities and our villages and townships." Development Commissioner Wèi continued as he began reeling off statistics after statistics amidst a backdrop of graphs and pie-charts to back up his point while his other colleagues listened attentively.

"Without these commodities, it will be extraordinarily difficult for the Huaxian economy to keep up it's current levels of growth. You will know from the dossiers that I have provided to you all that our current domestic oil reserves are fast depleting. We have practically exhausted most of our crude oil reserves in the Daqing, Liaohe and Jilin oil fields, forcing drillers to tap into more remote fields such as those at Tarim. We have gone from one of the world's leading exporters of grain to it's biggest importer, as more and more farms are being shut down and arable land utilised for property development and construction. Our strategic copper and aluminium reserves are steadily growing, but with domestic mines increasingly falling short of production targets, we must seek out overseas sources to make up for the shortfall."

On cue, the next PowerPoint slide revealed a map of the world, with various countries and regions marked in different shades of all sorts of colours while dotted lines denoted Huaxia's maritime trade routes and sea-lines of communication.

"Thus far, our foreign trade policy has been greatly successful in ameliorating our raw material shortages. Huaxia exports manufactured goods and hi-tech products in exchange for imports of crude oil, aluminium, tin, tungsten as well as agricultural commodities. In conjunction with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Commerce as well as the People's Bank, Huaxia's national policy of providing easy sources of credit to various third-world and developing countries has allowed us to preempt similar efforts by the Organised States and the Allied Nations in securing more trade partners worldwide. That we have not attached any such silly preconditions such as human rights improvements to our loans have ensured the continuous support of many a banana republic, kleptocracy and Middle-Eastern sheikhdom, in exchange for guaranteed access to their own domestic markets."

"In Africa in particular, we have successfully acquired drilling rights to nearly 40% of Sudan's oil reserves, with Nigeria to follow soon once the Foreign Ministry applies the relevant pressure towards the Nigerians. Namibia will agree to provide us with a steady supply of uranium. The local governments there have been most cooperative in ensuring that our import demands are being met in exchange for Huaxian investments in African infrastructure and development as well as the export of Huaxian goods to satisfy their domestic consumers." Development Commissioner Wèi continued, half smiling with a distinct sense of pride at what he considered to be the fruits of many years of painstaking effort in coordinating Huaxia's foreign trade.

"There are problems of course. Some states have failed to grasp the benefits of further cooperation with Huaxia. Others, such as Egypt, have long been in the orbit of the Allied Nations that it will be difficult to wrench them away from their capitalist overlords. Wohlhabenvolk is another such example, its government retaining deeply-entrenched pro-Western sympathies that it has been impossible to acquire access to their rare earth mines in the eastern portions of the country. That the ongoing KLA-led insurgency has continued unabated for the past two years has also frightened away Huaxian investors and companies operating in the country."

"You don't have to worry about Wohlhabenvolk, we are already looking into what measures can be taken to...ensure that the Wohlhabenvolkers are more cooperative towards Huaxia." Minister of State Security Wáng Weimin added cryptically from his seat. Commissioner Wèi seemingly nodded in acknowledgement, recognising that it was not his business to enquire further into this particular strand of the discussion. Turning back to face the rest of the State Council, he continued his presentation.

"In Central Asia, the New Silk Road initiative...."

Three hours later....

After various briefings and discussions by the members of the State Council, the meeting was brought to a close by the Grand Marshal, who remained satisfied with the progress of Huaxia's overall socio-economic development. Nonetheless, first things first, there were other pressing issues at hand that required the attention of the Central Government. The session of the State Council being closed, all members were dismissed except for the Ministers of State Security, National Defence and Foreign Affairs who were asked to remain behind. With the rest of the State Council duly obliging and eager to return to their offices and ministries, Grand Marshal Xu could now speak more freely.

"Regarding Wohlhabenvolk, it appears that our efforts to arm and equip the KLA have proven to be fairly successful, with the rebels poised to seize Aginstaad and with it, the entirety of Wohlhabenvolk. Credit for that should go to you, Minister Wáng, and to you, Marshal Song. Without the influx of Huaxian weaponry and our efforts to train the KLA comrades in Wohlhabenvolk and Huaxia, the KLA would most certainly have been wiped out decades ago."

"Excellency, there is a problem however," the Foreign Minister quipped, "Information has reached us that the Republic of Coldwater, alarmed at the prospect of losing its friendly client regime, has redoubled efforts to shore up the Wohlhabenvolk government by delivering Coldwater soldiers and arms to assist government troops in crushing the KLA."

"The KLA will not be able to sustain it's nationwide offensive operations if this continues."

"Then we'll match Coldwater," retorted Minister Wáng, "I propose we escalate our involvement in Wohlhabenvolk to provide greater financial and military support to the KLA, so that they may be better equipped to resist the government troops."

"And how do you propose we achieve that?" replied Grand Marshal Xu.

"Simple. We step-up our arms deliveries to the KLA by making full use of the maritime ports located along the eastern coast of Africa, as well as the overland smuggling routes between the African states and Wohlhabenvolk. We will have to start shipping heavier weaponry, such as IFVs, light tanks, heavy artillery pieces and logistical vehicles as well. We must also increase the number of military advisers in Wohlhabenvolk to better train and coordinate KLA operations."

"That's a massive undertaking you're proposing, Minister," the Foreign Minister replied quietly, "I hope you realise the negative impact this will have on our international reputation should the international community discover what Huaxia is up to."

"They'll do nothing. What does the international community care for a few sub-saharans and nabobs in Africa? They cared little when rebel forces cut a bloody swathe across Sierra Leone and in the Congo as well, they will care little for this bush conflict. What I'm more concerned about is the reaction of the Allied Nations and Organised States, considering their own stakes in Wohlhabenvolk. They won't sit idly by while their capitalist running-dogs are being ground down by the KLA." Minister Wáng shot back.

Grand Marshal Xu promptly turned to the National Defence Minister, Marshal Song Guangli and asked him "Can the PLA deliver the necessary equipment and personnel to the KLA within twenty-four hours?"

"Your Excellency, the PLA always delivers whenever called upon, I can get the necessary vehicles and heavy weapons loaded onto cargo vessels in a few hours. They will be traversing the Indian Ocean in as little as ten hours." Marshal Song replied.

"Splendid, I shan't keep you gentlemen back any longer in that case. The Central Military Commission will meet the next day to better thresh out the overall direction of our national policy regarding the situation in subcontinental Africa and elsewhere. In the meantime, I want timely reports on Wohlhabenvolk on my desk every two hours. If there's nothing else for my attention, you may return to your respective ministries and organs."

KLA Headquarters, Kiongaland, KLA-occupied territory, 12:59PM
The city of Kiongaland was named for the once proud Kiongan people, a conglomerate of different tribes conquered by the Kyukos. Since then, all of the Kyukos have assimilated the various people of the land of Kionga, and the city, once a metropolitan hub was renamed such and has become a cultural center for the native culture. It was in Kiongaland that the KLA revolted and murdered the extreme minority of white Wohlhabens, before declaring their rebellion against the Wohlhaben government. A run-down city, many of its people deal with the sprawl, the muck and the chronic population density, yet is the major hub for all things KLA. Even the Coldwateran strikes have not bothered them as the people continuously join the KLA, sometimes without pay, yet they flood in, hoping that one day, they shall seize their homeland once more and destroy the offspring of the imperialists that had come and taken their land.

In the headquarters building, a stone structure over 1000 years old retrofitted with semi-modern amenities, the KLA head council, alongside a Huaxian envoy discuss the possibilities of seizing Aginstaad. There troops are 45 miles from the city, and are dug in, fighting the second Wohlhaben army division, with little difference as both sides make the occasional incursion before being sent back into their lines. A classic stalemate. For head councilleader Abeyago Sadi, it was the most nerve-racking subject on the agenda as he looks at the round table, before a councilman speaks

"Mr. Chen", the council man asks as he shifts his head towards Chen, a tall-medium built man from Huaxia as Chen attentively looks at the councilman

"Is there any chance that we can get anything big, tanks, new artillery guns, things that can break their line and allow us to besiege that god damn imperialist city?"

Chen nodded as the councilman spoke, and laid back in his chair for a while, before responding

"The Huaxian government has agreed to send you heavy weaponry, IFV, tanks, and other material, we will also provide you with any technical support for these materials to maximize their usage"

The councilmen smiled a bit, but knew that there was larger fish to fry.

"And how about Huaxian troops? Coldwater is sending their men, recently a platoon, one of the best was almost entirely wiped out as they are operating behind our lines"

Chen looked around, at the expressions of the councilmen, all eager for his response, hoping that Huaxian troops, of high quality can turn the tide against the Coldwateran troops that are sent to Wohlhabenvolk. Yet Chen had nothing to offer, he was no standing committeeman, he was a mere diplomat from the People's Republic of Huaxia, here to convey their message and their notions to the KLA. Yet, he had to reply, and not just stare at the people.

"I will let the politburo know of your request" said Chen

The councilmen all laid back for a bit, knowing that Huaxia will not send in any of their own men, yet more weapons and material. It was a step up, sure, but they wonder if they can somehow fight against the better-trained Coldwaterans, Coldwaterans in large numbers nonetheless.

Aginstaad Airport, 1:30PM

The old plane hangars and storage warehouses were now filled with Coldwateran regulars as they continue to train and talk with the native Wohlhaben troops, discussing the situation where the KLA front lines are a mere 45 miles from the city outskirts, and that there has been nothing but a stalemate for the last few months, with no change in the front lines at all. The fighting has become isolated skirmishes, no grand battles as lines from both sides are stretched thin across the land. The KLA controls the north of the country, and has been attempting to besiege Aginstaad, but never has it attacked more than one side of the city, as any flanking maneuver requires men to break the thin Wohlhaben army lines, but doing such would deplete the lines from somewhere else, and by doing so risk a Wohlhaben incursion there. Yet, for Commandant Richard Henry McCulloch, such a type of warfare is easily exploitable, for he wasn't here just to reinforce the thin Wohlhaben line, but to run an overland campaign into their territory, going total war by destroying infrastructure, industry and anything else helpful to the KLA, right with his concentrated army. But first, he needed to soften up the supply lines and weaken the forces before piercing the heart, and to do so, he was to undertake a major bombing campaign.

Indeed, with two fighter wings, one bombing wing and one attack wing, it makes sense for such an act to be done. The act was settled: massive carpet bombings of KLA cities and industrial sites, before precise attacks by fighters and attack aircraft, targeting specific industrial sites, roads, bridges, recruitment sites, storage centers and more, a way to assert aerial supremacy, and ensure that total war is upon them. Meanwhile, two drone squadrons will do close-air surveillance of the enemy lines, hiding from their radar with their stealthy design and coating, whilst taking high-quality images of enemy facilities, helping better pinpoint a second round of precision bombing, and sites for attack by the eventual overland campaign, for the war, has just begun.

Bauerburg
Aaginstad

Two unmarked Bell V-280 Valours, operated by OSAF AFSOC crews, swooped over the slums of Bauerburg just before the sun began to rise above the downtrodden district. Thousands living in squalor in a country where millionaires lived in luxury not 10 miles away. To make matters worse, Bauerburg was not the sole survivor of the previous regime's racial policies. Hundreds of other shanty cities remained throughout the country. High crime, Pollution, Poor Healthcare, and Horrible working conditions helped the already struggling population very little.

"No wonder this place became a haven for KLA." said Captain Frank Edwards as he clenched his Remington ACR tightly while he hung himself slightly out of the side of the fast flying tiltrotor, keeping an ever watchful eye for possible MANPADS such as the Huxian-supplied HJ-6 and the common RPG-7, both of which could prove fatal to the low-flying aircraft.

"Damn right. Place might as well be the KLA's Moscow. All they're missing is a goddamned parade." said Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Valcez, ODA-552's assistant commander and Edwards's second in command, over the radio. ODA-552 was in the shit now, it's only mission to hunt down and "terminate" the KLA's leadership. It was America's hit squad in Africa, and with what the KLA's bread and butter had been, bombings of soft targets like schools and malls at their busiest hours, Edwards saw no problem with this. Their task was made almost immediately easier in the fact that they didn't officially exist. ODA-552 was apart of the OS Army's secretive Wolfpack program, centered around Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group. Equipped with the latest in weapons, communications, and other tactical systems and centered on highly trained and multilingual operators, they were the attempt of many in the Special Forces community to convince the Army to be ready to fight a new type of warfare, a "hybrid" of electronic warfare, small unit tactics, mobility, and force multiplication. However, of course, the Army had yet to be convinced of the unit's effectiveness against anything other than a

"Preliminary recon coming up now from the Drone, sir. Should be on the iWarrior now." said First Sergeant Adam "Hashtag" Franconia, the team's Intelligence specialist, known by his MOS as an 18F. Almost immediately after he said that, Edwards's iWarrior, a pair of Oakley Ballistic Sunglasses look-alikes that were computerized and allowed for greater situational awareness in combat. Of course, like all other systems, it was prone to faults from time to time, but in general, offered the same kind of benefits to the warfighter that were initially tested in the OS Army's failed Landwarrior Family of Systems, all of which proved far too bulky for the lightweight soldier of the future that the Army was developing in the Wolfpack.

The iWarrior highlighted a specific target in the village to their direct north, which the two V-280s were rapidly approaching. "I've got two targets on the roof of the building. Looked armed." said Staff Sergeant Adam Warren, one of the ODA's weapons sergeants and armed with a Mk.48 light machine gun, one of the staples of OS Special Operations Forces.

"LZ in 30 Secs, standby!" yelled the V-280's crew chief as they rapidly approached the suspected KLA stronghold. The Tiltrotors quickly came upon the target, one of them immediately setting down in a makeshift soccer field, as the other, hovered to allow the remaining Wolves to fast rope towards the building. However, the KLA was lying in wait, as it seemed, immediately opening up with blistering small arms fire from dozens of locations.

"CONTACTS LEFT SIDE! TAKING SMALL ARMS FIRE!" yelled the crew chief of one of the CV-280A as it attempted to take off from the soccer field, as he returned fire against the insurgents with the .50 caliber GAU-19 minigun, almost immediately silencing insurgent positions on the rooftops of one of the various wood and tin shacks, one of which collapsed following a burst.

"NORTH SIDE! TARGET ENTRANCE NORTH SIDE!" yelled Franconia over the comms as the Wolfpack used its far-superior tactics and equipment to effectively deal with the now retreating KLA forces following the door gunner's counterattack. The Wolfpack quickly approached a small door that surrounded a large, square concrete building. The one story structure had no windows, and only a simple air conditioning unit to keep it cool. Warren set a breaching charge on the door, which detonated not long afterwards, and was followed by another member of the Wolfpack throwing an M89 Flashbang into the room. Then, a Wolfpack pointman armed with an automatic shotgun immediately entered, followed by the rest of the Wolfpack. Multiple KLA members inside of the building were immediately taken into custody or were "dealt with" there. By the end of the day, two confirmed KLA lieutenants were in custody and half a dozen minor leaders were dead.

Satellite imagery was an interesting thing. But of course, it was never a precise thing. General Andrew DeBreus was not exactly ready to potentially start the Third World War over some Huaxian cargo ships and fishing vessels that may be carrying weapons. Emphasis on may be. That was not in the interest of either his career or his soon-to-obtained pension courtesy of Uncle Sam's Air Force. The 58 year-old former fighter jock was just six months from retiring away to the Florida Keys with some minor speaking engagements at Embry-Riddle and the Air Force Academy from time-to-time. It was going to be absolute bliss, and far away from the dangerous game of dealing with growing Huaxian influence in Africa at that. Officially, the Organized States and Huaxia never had better relations, but everyone knew that the official story was not at all the real one. The "Pacific Pivot" was clearly aimed at Huaxia. Despite this, Huaxia needed resources, and the place it was getting it's resources was Africa.

"What options do I have to take to the President?" asked DeBreus. In his time as head of AFRICOM, he had learned two things. EUCOM and SHAPE were stingy bastards who would rather die than share the readily-available resources they had and that AFRICOM had little to no pull in the Pentagon, and was unlikely to get additional forces unless the entire continent went into the shitter.

"Well, sir..." timidly said Colonel Austin Meyers, the AFRICOM J-3. Meyers was a careerist. An Air Force Academy-graduate RPA Pilot that jumped ship from manned platforms as an O-1 on the thought that he would a better career in RPAs, because they were the "way of the future". He was wrong. It was the Fighter Jock's Air Force, and it was staying that way for a while. Not surprising that he'd end up as a staff officer in a seemingly backwater command like AFRICOM. "...Our only option is simply increasing our training and assistance mission in Wohlhabenvolk."

"Impossible. We don't have the manpower to increase the mission there! Practically the entire goddamned BCT is in Country! AND THERE IS NO GODDAMNED WAY IN HELL THAT THE PENTAGON IS GIVING US MORE!" yelled Colonel Jeffrey Mitchell, an Army Grunt Officer with a short fuse, who had become J-1 by some act of pure luck. Or by some grace of God scoffed DeBreus in his head.

"We have no other options. We must ask for additional troops. We'll lose the entire country if we don't." replied Meyers calmly.

"Gentlemen," said DeBreus, quieting both of the staff officers and taking back Mitchell from the edge of reaching across the conference table and punching his Air Force counterpart, "We'll slowly ramp up our efforts in country." With that, DeBreus stood and began to walk out of the door, bringing the entire conference room of senior staff officers to attention. "Dismissed."

Major Ethan "Guamadan" Hunt tore off his helmet after turning off the engines and climbing out of his Mako on what was without a doubt, the longest flight of his life. Along with 11 other F/A-28As from VMFA-235, he had flown nonstop across the Atlantic with the assistance of two KC-130Js that provided air refueling for their aircraft. Already, Guamadan could tell this was going to be a boring deployment. They were stuck in the nice part of the ass end of the world. The Ancient Continent was always fucked up, but at this point, they were far from the fucked up and out of the fight, which was one of the worst things to be if you were a Marine aviator on deployment.

Another one of these strategic deterrence bullshit yadayada patrols the Brass puts on us. Guamadan thought to himself as he started to put his helmet into his flight bag before slinging it over his shoulder and walking towards the temporary squadron operations building in a large tent that had been pitched on what was a park, just off the flight line, that was displaying a number of Wohlhabenvolk Air Force aircraft.

Bauerburg, Aginstaad

As the KLA Private fell backwards, levelling hails of lead from his seasoned AK-47, he was baffled at the quick deployment of American troops. As he fell back, he yelled "GO BACK AMERICAN IMPERIALISTS", whilst coming to the realization that if he decided to move forward, he would be shot, and killed by the skilled American men, with their fancy guns and headpieces.

Bauerburg is a mess, with corrugated metal littered on the ground, unpaved roads riddled with starving beggars and abandoned children, then being blanketed dirt, dust and mud. In spite of desegregation, this town remains to be 98% Kyuko, and the KLA has established covert operations, planning ways to undertake subversion behind enemy lines and allow the besiegement of Aginstaad, a political gain that will assert the KLA's legitimacy.

Now, America was here to save the day, only to cause more of a mess as countless civilians raise their middle finger at the American troops arresting the KLA soldiers. Sounds of "Fuck you!" and "Cracker" faintly seep through the town and into the ears of every resident, coming to show that even after the end of the first Bush War, race remains a prominent issue in a nation laced with de-facto discrimination of blacks.

For Chief Wakimba, the American raid was a failure, he had lost two of his chief lieutenants, and killed no Americans. Yet, he was ready to raise some hell, by public execution, of six white Wohlhaben troops he had captured last time around.

In the town square, surrounded by small tents selling fruits, vegetables and basic life supplies laid a floor of old, colonial bricks where the old townhall once stood, until a OKF artillery attack had sent it collapsing to the ground. Since then, this part of town has become a major gathering place, for all to communicate, to sell, to deal. Yet today, the KLA had vacated the town square, for a public execution.

As the camera started rolling and streaming to video sites, six men, in balaclavas stood, with old, Kyuko swords behind the six blindfolded Wohlhaben soldiers. Behind the six men, was a tall, imposing figure.

"I am Chief Wakimba, leader of KLA forces in Bauerburg, today, American forces launched an imperialist raid against the civilians of Bauerburg, and killed countless innocent Kyukos in their atrocious act, thinking that we, a liberation army, are so weak and futile. Today, I am proud to announce that the KLA is alive and well, ready to strike at any time, ready, to vanquish all white men from the land of Kionga, ready, to defend the interests of the Kyuko people"

Then, the six masked men swung their swords, and in a blink of an eye, the bodies of the six Wohlhaben men were headless, and then the feed turned to a black screen, playing propaganda chants and music, with lyrics depicting a Kionga that shall ethnically cleanse all white men from their land.

Kiongaland
KLA Headquarters
Eastern Wohlhabenvolk

Senior Colonel Liu Feng watched from the streets of the grimy, filthy agglomeration of shantytowns and slums that passed for the city of Kiongaland as scores of KLA soldiers trundled by in their makeshift technicals and more modern lorries (courtesy of Huaxia's generous support) towards staging points behind the front-lines that divided the government-held areas of Wohlhabenvolk from their KLA-occupied counterparts. The city was a mess, with sewage and litter spilling out into the road such that one could not possibly step foot in Kiongaland without stepping foot on shit. Amenities were scarce, while the fetid underclass of Wohlhabevolk society hung around on street corners and in alleyways, attempting to hawk smuggled cigarettes, drugs and other such contraband, or in some cases, prostitutes hawking their wares in the hopes of attracting their next source of income.

The Senior Colonel hated the city, but by virtue of his position as Head of the Huaxian Military Mission to the KLA, his job required that he remain attached to the KLA Central Command, ensconced in Kiongaland safely behind the front-lines. That the KLA was enjoying their biggest successes on the battlefield in over three decades was due to the persistent guidance and support of the Huaxian military advisors in educating and teaching their KLA comrades on how to properly conduct and wage a true people's war. Huaxian military advisors trained and helped organised KLA guerrilla forces as well as the KLA NCO and officer corps while kitting them out in Huaxian military gear. It was a quid pro-quo situation: The KLA benefiting from the expertise and equipment of Huaxia in it's anti-imperialist struggle against the Wohlhabenvolk apartheid regime while in exchange, Huaxia could see just how effective it's weapons and doctrine worked in combat. The KLA also helped to smuggle out rare earth minerals such as diamonds and gold, as well as other conflict resources from mines and resource fields that passed to their control, most of which went to Huaxia.

Once the street was clear of vehicles, the Senior Colonel crossed the street with his aides and walked down the dirt pavements towards a large stone building adorned with flags of the KLA, the headquarters of the organisation. As the entourage approached the main entrance, armed KLA sentries saluted as the Huaxians simply walked past them with a brief acknowledgement before heading towards the second level where the KLA Central Command Council was seated. Senior Colonel Liu intended to brief the KLA high command on what he believed to be the most important priorities for the organisation at the moment: A massive offensive to seize Aginstaad coupled with subsidiary operations to apply further pressure on Wohlhabenvolk.

As Senior Colonel Liu climbed the stone steps leading to the second-level, he turned to speak to his aide, a Major by the surname of Chong.

"When are we expecting the designated reinforcements from Beijing?"

"Within several hours Sir, I've been advised from their latest communique that the additional military advisors will be touching down in Angola before entering Wohlhabenvolk territory. The heavy equipment that Beijing is sending to our KLA comrades will take longer to arrive, as well as the technical advisors attached."

"Hopefully these 非洲人 will know how to these weapons without blowing themselves up." the Senior Colonel remarked acidly. The oppressive summer heat in Kiongaland was not helping, a far cry from his beloved Manchuria in Northern Huaxia. Without further word, the group proceeded towards the conference room housing the High Council of the KLA before entering the oak-panelled double-doors and the slightly spiffier sentries on guard. The KLA High Council was already in session apparently, and a Huaxian whom the Senior Colonel did not recognise was present as well.

Air Huaxia Boeing 747-8I
International Airspace
En-Route to Angola

High in the skies above the hustle and bustle of humankind on the ground and sea, a Boeing 747-8I passenger airline was cruising briskly yet steadily towards the Angolan capital of Luanda, decked out in the signature livery of Air Huaxia, the chief flag carrier of the PRH's aviation industry and one of it's major airlines, servicing not just domestic routes between Huaxian cities and regions but also more lucrative foreign air routes. However this particular Boeing was carrying a particular brand of passengers and cargo. Seated inside the interior of the Boeing 747 were hundreds of Huaxian military advisors, technical specialists and administrative personnel bound for Wohlhabenvolk as part of the Central Government's renewed commitment towards the support of the KLA-led insurgency. Though Huaxia had not committed herself just yet towards direct military intervention, the dispatch of even more military advisors and personnel would ensure that the KLA could be suitably trained and reorganised to become a proper fighting force up to Huaxian standards.

In addition to the Huaxian military advisors, the Air Huaxia flight also carried scores of Kyuko guerrillas under the KLA, fresh from their military and political training in the numerous training camps set up across Huaxia. They were the product of Huaxia's commitment and support towards Maoist and Left-wing revolutionary, progressive forces worldwide since the 1950s, as part of their contribution towards the international struggle against the neo-colonialist, reactionary regimes and their American imperialist, puppet masters; enemies of the working class and the peasantry. Though the Communist government that originally spearheaded this programme of direct assistance towards guerrilla forces was now effectively pushed out of power, the new military government had retained some aspects of it's support for some revolutionary movements while scaling down assistance towards others deemed to be politically unreliable or lacking in pro-Huaxian sympathies. Scores of Kyukos secretly and legally travelled to Huaxia under the guise of Huaxian scholarships and academic exchanges in order to receive covert military training in the use of firearms and explosives as well as guerrilla warfare and small-scale tactics. The PLA and the Guó'ānbù jointly contributed towards the running of these secret military facilities, the latter providing more specific expertise with regards to the conduct of espionage, sabotage and covert operations. Their training complete, the KLA recruits would be returned to Wohlhabenvolk to carry out the struggle against the apartheid government.

Besides it's human cargo, the Boeing 747-8I also carried scores of small-arms weapons in it's cargo hold, ranging from QSZ-92 semi-automatic pistols, to QBZ-95 bullpup assault-rifles and Type-80 general-purpose machine-guns. Heavier weapons were also included, such as the modern PF-98 anti-tank rocket, the more antiquated Type 69 RPG and the Type 87 82mm mortar. In addition, over several hundred thousand rounds of ammunition and hundreds of hand grenades lay nicely packed in wooden and metal crates secure in the cargo hold. These weapons would go to the KLA for use against the government forces, who would certainly not be expecting guerrillas to be wielding anti-tank rockets and machine-guns. Both passengers and ordnance would land at Angola's capital city Luanda. From there, they would travel towards Wohlhabenvolk and, with the covert assistance of the Angolese who remained pro-Huaxian since the Cold War, cross discreetly into Wohlhabenvolk territory and join up with the KLA main body. The Wohlhabenvolk government could do little to interrupt these border crossings, lest they risk intruding into foreign airspace or be caught exposed by the KLA. And it was a predicament that Huaxia was all too-happy to exploit.

4th Squadron of the Crimson Fleet
21 miles away from Wohlhaben

The blue waves of the ocean sloshed gently against the hull of HMNS Lancashire, the flagship of the squadron, and the command ship of Commodore Henry York, the 5th Earl of York.
On the deck of the mighty battleship, marines sat talking as they nursed their 1960 model Battle Rifles, no doubt mentally preparing themselves for the fight ahead. Near the rear of the great vessel, a Westland Lynx helicopter took off from the ship-mounted helipad.

Image

The Lynx had it's RDMS mountings on (Recon and Detection Modification System) and 4 had been ordered to scout the area ahead of the squadron, possibly to find a suitable landing position for the troops. Or possibly a port...

Meanwhile overhead, 9 Boeing 767s flew in perfect military formation, quite a feat for such large aircraft. 7 of them bore the markings of the Diplomatic Service and they carried Propaganda agents, diplomats and Humanitarian workers. But the 2 at the rear displayed the emblem of the Military Aid Service, they had been modified to carry two GAU-19 miniguns on each wing but they were basically useless as such a large plane could hardly get into position to use them. Their main purpose was to assure the pilot and crew that the 13 tons of supplies carried onboard each 767 was safe.

These planes were bound for Wohlhaben, the Humanitarian workers would disperse all over the country to aid civilians in any way possible while the military supply shipments would reach government loyalist troops.
