Rhys awoke. he saw one one of the Senior Sergeants, his name tag on his Combat Armor said R.Garett.
"LT we're an hour out, you told me to wake you if you were sleeping." Garett said
Rhys shook his head and looked around. They were in the large Troop bay in the Walker Class troop ship. He was trying to remember the name for the ship. but it just didn't come to him. When he was on Earth he was in the northern area In Canada. There was a snow storm, so he guessed that was the reason. He stood up and looked back at his sergeant, he looked puzzled. "Thank you Sergeant get the rest of them up, we are going to form up in 30 mins. They are to be in full armor and kit. Also tell them to pack up that winter gear i don't think we will need it where we are going." Rhys said to the Sergeant. "YES, SIR!" The Sergeant said. He ran off to get his stuff together before getting the rest of the men. Rhys turned and looked down at his kit. And he went ahead and read off when he had in his pack to himself.

1x Ruck Sack with and Irish Flag on the large flap that went over the top of the pack, 6x wool sockes, 6x BDU Tee's, 3x BDU Camos (Arid Digital Camo [Canadian])these BDU's were issued to the whole Platoon at his request, 2x Combat boots 6x of undergarment, an Admin pad with all his notes and platoon roster on it, 1 of 6 pack of lazer rifle Batteries, his short pattern Laser Rifle - EEX-42. his personal hand gun it fired a .50 calibur round 15 shots each magazine. He bought this for himself as a graduation present, the rest of his kit was personal items and military hardware that he received before leaving earth.

he and the rest of his platoon has the CAS armor however this armor is presurized so they could breath if the hull was breached.

after puting on the bulky CAS armor, he was packing the rest of the items in to his ruck when. . .

This echoed throughout the troop bay of the Walker.

All the troops were now getting up and rubbing their eyes the 2nd LT, that slept beside him opened his eyes lazily and looked over at him. "Ugh god damn his voice travels, how far out are we Rhys?" 2nd LT said with a heavy Britsh Accecnt. His name was Jay Ellis he has been his friend since before the Academy. " Just around a half an hour out." Rhys said. Rhys had a heavy Irish Accent, Jay always would laugh at the way Rhys talked. "Ha ha ha ok Rhys thanks." Jay said.
" haha funny that's why you're carrying the radio." Rhys said in defence. He also laughed.

*SSGT Garett wasnt the only Senior NCO's in Romeo 025 there's three others that lead the other 3 squads in the platoon. First we will talk about Staff Sargent Robin Garett, he was the type of person that you would call "crazy" loved to blow stuff up. he is the Team Leader of Alpha team. he is more of a frontal assult type. after basic on earth Robin changed. Hes more of a down to earth type of guy but, old habits die hard, he still loves to blow the shit out of stuff. Favorite weapon: KJA-9. Next on the list is Sargent Jeff Oliver he is the tactican of the platoon. he went to the "rich peaples" college's when he was able to loved chess more than anything. he is the flanker type "Fix Flank Finish" is this guys forte. Favorite weapon: SWO-11CQB Style [this gun has the same features as the MP5k but a bit more longer and it has a larger caliber. it is painted an Olive Drab or OD green]. moving on to the Charlie team leader Sargent Jennifer Russell. She is into explosives like Robin but, she likes to use them in Ambushes than in frontal assaults. she is the squads hit then run type. she is also good at sneaking ahead and taking out enemies quietly. Lastly there is the Delta Team leader Sargent Imager Dorsch. She is a wizard with the SAS - 900. The phrase for the weapon is the same way she leads her troop. quick, silent, and deadly. these are the senior NCO's for Romeo-0-2-5. [i] *

Rhys stood up and bellowed. "EVERYONE FORM UP IN YOUR SQUADS, SERGEANTS GET THEM IN ORDER NOW." All the men under his command jumped to and formed up, as if they were scared for their lives.

All four squads lined up in formation. Both Lieutenants walked to the front with full kit on.

"Romeo -25 Stand AT-EASE ...... stand easy men." Rhys spoke.

"In a couple moments men we will walk off this ramp and start our training. This is an important time for all of us if we surive training, we will truly be brothers. We will work together to become the best damned platoon that the TDR has ever seen, am I right troopers?" Rhys spoke.

"Sir, yes, SIR!"

"What was that Romeo, I can't hear you."

"SIR, YES, SIR!"

"That's better. They will make soldiers out of you soon enough lads." Rhys remarked.

Sounds fine, but why bait TFA into this? You're just creating enemies, assuming we wouldn't have otherwise been involved. Maybe if TFA was present at the Nova's Castle expo, and you wanted to get them out of there before attempting to capture it. Does that work?


In my original version, the military had fragmented and joined both sides, so they probably got their weapons from the defectors and from whatever military bases they captured in the first few days of the war before front lines emerged.


I checked your post history, and I've got no problem with you joining. Might take this a bit of time to get off the ground, seeing as we're still setting up why this war is taking place, but if you don't mind that, feel free to hang around.

The rebels would still need a shitload of ammunition, I propose a illegal shipment is smuggled in by boat every few nights under the governments noses, something my come up and there may be a quick skirmish on the boat or at the exchange point, I dunno, but they need some way to get ammo

I'm not sure, but I think the ammunition you'd find from capturing a couple dozen military bases would exceed anything a smuggling boat could bring in by a couple orders of magnitude. I'd assume that if the rebels capture a reasonable chop of the country with the help of maybe 35%-50% of the army, they'll have enough ammo and guns to fight the rest of the army. I think the bigger problem might be logistics for them, especially if the pro-government coalition begins blowing up bridges and ammo/fuel dumps with airstrikes. But that's getting into strategy, not setup, so let's not get bogged down in that.

tl;dr: Captured army bases probably have enough ammo for the rebels. If they don't, one smuggling boat probably wouldn't help.

I don't think most of the civilians will be fighting. Probably just something like half of the male citizens ages 18-24 in rebel-held territory. Or even if a lot of people join the army, they don't all get guns and get sent to the front lines. In Iraq, the US Military (counting contractors) had 3 logistics, admin, and life support personnel for every one combat soldier.

I don't think we finalized a name for the nation, but I'll call it Seraven here, 'cause that's short and simple.

2015: The nation of Seraven is wavering on the brink of collapse. Millions live in poverty and hardship but are unable to speak up under the rule of the oppressive regime, and though the people fear the government, it is actually weak and corrupt, and only reflects the interests of foreign corporations that have flocked to the nation for resources and cheap labor, all of which are only a few bribes away.

January 1st, 2016: The government holds a massive celebration in the capital, pronouncing the economy's success in the past year and hope in the future. The crowds cheer at the speeches and military parades, knowing that to do anything else would be suicide. The elderly president is happy. He believes his people are hopeful once again, although in reality the hollow pageantry does nothing to excite most people.

January 8th, 2016: The president decides that more celebrations are what's needed to bolster the nation's morale. Maybe if people feel hopeful they will work harder, spend more, raise economic well being for everyone. Maybe a bit more patriotism would even weed out some of the seedier groups in his government. He announces that an international military expo will be held in two months to celebrate the strength of the nation.

March 14th, 2016: The expo opens with much fanfare, despite minor problems setting it back a week. Delegations from other governments and defense companies are present, both viewing and presenting their new developments. Performances are conducted by the Seravien Navy, Air Force, and Army. Less people than expected can afford to travel to the expo, but the president's advisers tell him is is an astounding success. The expo is being held at Nova's Castle.

March 15th, 2016: Reading about the expo in magazines, or hearing of it on the radio, most people are disgusted by the frivolity of it. To them, the government is wasting money on lavish affairs to please international business again, and they don't even have the decency to try and hide it anymore.

March 16th, 2016: Tensions come to a climactic conclusion. A well-respected military Colonel pronounces that he sides with the revolutionary group known as "The Socialist Liberators" during a live broadcast on national radio from the expo. A company of soldiers under his command seizes Nova's Castle and takes the international visitors hostage. Uprisings begin across the country.

March 17th, 2016 (night): A team of Namien special forces attempts to sneak into Nova's Castle and rescue the hostages in the middle of the night. They are spotted as they infiltrate the castle. A firefight ensues. The Namiens retreat with heavy casualties.

March 17th, 2016 (day): The hostages are executed on national television.

March 18th, 2016: The president is distraught by events. Already on shaky mental ground, he becomes suspicious of his advisers, believing them to be revolutionaries as well. He doesn't understand how this could have happened. His advisers have been lying to him about the state of the nation for years. He never even knew people were starving. He becomes afraid of both his own citizens and the international community. He issues an announcement condemning several nations for staging this fake revolution with their armies and begging for help from other nations. The nations he lists appear to bear no relationship to what's been happening in recent years.

March 20th, 2016: The president commits suicide with a gun nobody even knew he had. The government and army collapse into chaos as everyone rushes to join what they believe will be the winning side. A rough front line appears to form in Seraven's new civil war.

March 21st, 2016: The international community responds.

0100: The Special Forces Task Force nears Nova Castle, and is almost inside when a flare is popped into the air. The surrounding area is immediately filled with tracers.

0130: The Namenian Special Forces is "assaulted" at the President's place by his guards, and the President dies in the fighting.

0145: A company of infantry ambushes the Task Force and open fires on anything that moves. Heavy casualties are sustained, and the men are forced to retreat.

The president is not at Nova's Castle. He's at either his house or the Capitol, which was originally planned, no? That's why it took 30 minutes to get there.

So yes, I am blaming other nations by bringing them into a wrong scenario, have them attacked, show the president dead, and act like I am the hero.

If I seem maniacal and manipulative, just realize. In my old region, we needed a good reason to go to war. I was always the best at making bullshit Casus Beli that made sense and couldn't be refuted.

Rhys awoke. he saw one one of the Senior Sergeants, his name tag on his Combat Armor said R.Garett.
"LT we're an hour out, you told me to wake you if you were sleeping." Garett said
Rhys shook his head and looked around. They were in the large Troop bay in the Walker Class troop ship. He was trying to remember the name for the ship. but it just didn't come to him. When he was on Earth he was in the northern area In Canada. There was a snow storm, so he guessed that was the reason. He stood up and looked back at his sergeant, he looked puzzled. "Thank you Sergeant get the rest of them up, we are going to form up in 30 mins. They are to be in full armor and kit. Also tell them to pack up that winter gear i don't think we will need it where we are going." Rhys said to the Sergeant. "YES, SIR!" The Sergeant said. He ran off to get his stuff together before getting the rest of the men. Rhys turned and looked down at his kit. And he went ahead and read off when he had in his pack to himself.

1x Ruck Sack with and Irish Flag on the large flap that went over the top of the pack, 6x wool sockes, 6x BDU Tee's, 3x BDU Camos (Arid Digital Camo [Canadian])these BDU's were issued to the whole Platoon at his request, 2x Combat boots 6x of undergarment, an Admin pad with all his notes and platoon roster on it, 1 of 6 pack of lazer rifle Batteries, his short pattern Laser Rifle - EEX-42. his personal hand gun it fired a .50 calibur round 15 shots each magazine. He bought this for himself as a graduation present, the rest of his kit was personal items and military hardware that he received before leaving earth.

he and the rest of his platoon has the CAS armor however this armor is presurized so they could breath if the hull was breached.

after puting on the bulky CAS armor, he was packing the rest of the items in to his ruck when. . .

"GET UP ROMEO 25, GET UP RUB THE SLEEP OUT OF YOUR EYES WE ARE FORMING UP IN 15 MINUTES" Garett barked. "PVT MOORE GET UP MOVE MOVE MOVE"

This echoed throughout the troop bay of the Walker.

All the troops were now getting up and rubbing their eyes the 2nd LT, that slept beside him opened his eyes lazily and looked over at him. "Ugh god damn his voice travels, how far out are we Rhys?" 2nd LT said with a heavy Britsh Accecnt. His name was Jay Ellis he has been his friend since before the Academy. " Just around a half an hour out." Rhys said. Rhys had a heavy Irish Accent, Jay always would laugh at the way Rhys talked. "Ha ha ha ok Rhys thanks." Jay said.
" haha funny that's why you're carrying the radio." Rhys said in defence. He also laughed.

*SSGT Garett wasnt the only Senior NCO's in Romeo 025 there's three others that lead the other 3 squads in the platoon. First we will talk about Staff Sargent Robin Garett, he was the type of person that you would call "crazy" loved to blow stuff up. he is the Team Leader of Alpha team. he is more of a frontal assult type. after basic on earth Robin changed. Hes more of a down to earth type of guy but, old habits die hard, he still loves to blow the shit out of stuff. Favorite weapon: KJA-9. Next on the list is Sargent Jeff Oliver he is the tactican of the platoon. he went to the "rich peaples" college's when he was able to loved chess more than anything. he is the flanker type "Fix Flank Finish" is this guys forte. Favorite weapon: SWO-11CQB Style [this gun has the same features as the MP5k but a bit more longer and it has a larger caliber. it is painted an Olive Drab or OD green]. moving on to the Charlie team leader Sargent Jennifer Russell. She is into explosives like Robin but, she likes to use them in Ambushes than in frontal assaults. she is the squads hit then run type. she is also good at sneaking ahead and taking out enemies quietly. Lastly there is the Delta Team leader Sargent Imager Dorsch. She is a wizard with the SAS - 900. The phrase for the weapon is the same way she leads her troop. quick, silent, and deadly. these are the senior NCO's for Romeo-0-2-5. [i] *

Rhys stood up and bellowed. "EVERYONE FORM UP IN YOUR SQUADS, SERGEANTS GET THEM IN ORDER NOW." All the men under his command jumped to and formed up, as if they were scared for their lives.

All four squads lined up in formation. Both Lieutenants walked to the front with full kit on.

"ROMEO-25...ATTEN-TION" Rhys barked. There was a large boom as all their boots slamed into the floor in unison.

"Romeo -25 Stand AT-EASE ...... stand easy men." Rhys spoke.

"In a couple moments men we will walk off this ramp and start our training. This is an important time for all of us if we surive training, we will truly be brothers. We will work together to become the best damned platoon that the TDR has ever seen, am I right troopers?" Rhys spoke.

"Sir, yes, SIR!"

"What was that Romeo, I can't hear you."

"SIR, YES, SIR!"

"That's better. They will make soldiers out of you soon enough lads." Rhys remarked.

Compensating for that, most of the advanced military equipment like aircraft and heavy artillery are in the hands of the pro-government forces. All of the other nations (on both sides) have small flotillas or fleets that happened to be in the area (maybe around the 3-5 billion dollar cost range)
