"Your Highness," Duronev said gently, "while I admire your courage, your death would be a far greater blow to the cause of the monarchy than anything else. It is my mandate from my liege to ensure that you are protected. While it would obviously be prudent for you to remain in the city, if you take refuge in our helicopter then you will be away from danger. We shall take care of the Republicans, I promise." As if on cue, the gunship lowered down outside the now shattered window.

Downstairs, rushing upwards in the castle, the mob of angry Scots fought with the guards. Whilst the guards were better skilled and better armed, the sheer number of enemies was so much that they continued to retreat further into the castle. The Lower parts of the of the building was consumed in growing flames and blood.

Lord Roseberry, having seen first hand the might of destructive force that the mob of the raging Scottish People could produce ran quickly about his room, getting dress. He had been sleeping and he did not wish to meet the mob in a t-shirt and a pair of red briefs. After putting on clothes he heard the pounding of hands on his door. A moment latter the wood splintered as the revolutionaries tried to bash the door down.

The Secretary threw open his window and climbed out onto the window seal just as the mob bursted into the room. A ax flew past his head into the night below and he slipped and fell. He fell 18ft below into a fountains, the water just deep and close enough that whilst it hurt, he lived. He broke the surface and quickly worked on trying to escape before the revolutionaries found him once more.

The North Timerian Marines pushed forward to secure the castle opening fire with deadly force. Over head one of the Python gunships fired another barrage of rockets and the enemy. The Marines entered the lower level of the castle which was flooded with terrorist. They began to toss grenades into rooms and clear them out. "Russo forces. Have you evacuated with the royals?" Cpt. Wertz asked over the radio

Overhead a drone watched and sent the data back to the NTS Thunder. On board they analyzed the situation and sent their proposal to the escort destroyer. They had approved of cruise missile strikes around the castle and 155mm fire from the naval rail gun. The destroyer fired 3 cruise missiles from the VLS and then fired 5 rounds from the naval rail gun. The cruise missiles were fitted with high explosives and the rail gun munition would dispense cluster munitions over a medium sized area.

"We are currently trying to convince the Princess to escape to our helicopter," Duronev replied into the comm link. Less backseat driving would be appreciated! he thought angrily, blasting another revolutionary in the face.

Lord Dundee yelled at the Princess urgently.

"Your Highness, you can not stay in Scotland. Flee the country, go! Go somewhere safe and I will hold the revolutionaries back to the bitter end."

"No! Please don't speak of such things Lord Dundee!"

"Please, go! Go now before it is too late. You will return and I will have polished your crown for you. But go, for now, leave Scotland!"

"But what if you?"

"I am the Commander-in-Chief of the Army of Scots!"

With that, holstering a gun, Lord Dundee ran out of the room and rushed down the hall to meet the enemy.

Lady Princess Mary turned to Duronev, her black hair swing around her shoulders and her white and sliver dress crumpled.

"I shall go with you."

She paused and quickly dashed over to her dresser, grabbing the picture of her beloved Prince Philippe and kissed it. She pressed the picture to her bosom and went back to Duronev.

"Hurry now, we must go, all of Scotland is ablaze tonight."

The cruise missiles that were fired came down on the enemy like lighting. the missiles struck outside of the palace ground around suspected terrorist. The drone watched as the cruise missiles struck the ground throwing up dirt and debris. The 155 shells came in hard hitting enemy inside of the palace with control and precision. They were used so that the forces inside could gain control of the situation.

Duronev nodded. "Right, men, we're going up. Excuse me, Princess." One of his men jumped from the window to the helicopter, and held out his arms.
"Ready!" Duronev sighed. He did not like being so unceremonious with royalty, but it was the only alternative to fighting their way out of the palace, which was already far too dangerous. Picking up Princess Mary, he threw her towards the helicopter. His man, of course, caught her. He was a professional.
One of the Spetznaz ran over to the locked door and rigged it with an explosive. If the revolutionaries finally entered, it would be the last thing they ever did. One by one, the men boarded the helicopter, with Duronev going last. When he was on, the vehicle finally pulled away from the palace. He turned to Princess Mary. "Please, Highness, make yourself comfortable."

The Lady Princess gassed in shock as she was thrown, and had it been another place and another she would have protest, but with the Castle of Edinburgh in flames and her life on the line, she did not care. She was a Bórbon, and the Bórbons had rarely ever been treated like most monarchs, at the most they were upper nobility in some peoples eyes. She shook a little as she pressed the picture of Prince Philippe to her chest, afraid to drop it.

"Yes Señor!"

Tsarina Catherine III read the mission report with a great deal of satisfaction. The Spetznaz had rescued the Princess without taking a single casualty, and, as she had secretly been hoping, they had managed to kill a not insignificant number of revolutionaries. It looked like Duronev was getting another award.
In any case, the Princess was now aboard the aircraft carrier Yekaterina Velkaya, on the way to Rostock, where the Deritans would get involved in this mess. With them involved, confronting the Connerians and North Timerians about their plans for Scotland would be all the easier. In addition, huge amounts of armaments were being shipped to loyalist forces in Scotland, to prevent the Revolutionaries from getting full control of the country. Mary would come home soon enough, Catherine had resolved. Like most royals, Catherine was used to getting her way.

Queen Alice of Saxony was feeding her dear husband chocolate covered strawberries , the King of Saxony, when a message arrived via guard that the Lady Princess Mary was coming to Rostoxk requesting help for the events in Scotland. Alice, a princess of Derita and daughter of the mighty King-Emperor, was surprised that the Régent would be coming to them. She quickly wrapped her self up in her shawl and spoke to the guard.

"Monsieur Deantte, please inform the Lady Princess and her companions that they are welcome to come here to Chateau de Rosbentten. And send carriages to take them here."

"Yes Ma'am"

"Thank you Monsieur."

The Queen turned to her husband standing up.

"Hurry, we must meet with the lady Princess."

The guard rushed to a page, who quickly then in turn took the message and sent went to a scooter. Rostock was a northern city on the coast of the Baltic Sea. However today it was rather warm a beautiful. The Chateau de Rosbentten was a large estate, designed in the classical Deritain fashion, with long white outer walls and lined with manicured trees and lawns and ponds. A mini Versailles.

The page's scooter zipped across the city to the docks were Yekaterina Velkaua had been meet. Three carriages followed. Though Rostock was in the area known as Germany, it was Franco and Deritain in almost every way. The city's main region had banned cars and so carriages replaced them, they proved to be better for sight and the environment.

The page stopped at the aircraft and delivered the message to the officials aboard, the three large carriages, with all the modern functions of a car, music and AC, etc.

King Frederick Augustus IV of Saxony finished his strawberry and nodded at his wife. The young King was ready to follow his newly made wife, they had been married only this month and already they found themselves in the midst of international incidents. He gave Alice a kiss and rushed off to get dressed in a fine suit. The Génoise and in effect the Saxons were anxious about the revolution going on in Scotland.

The King of Saxony's own mother herself was very worried about the safety of Mary, the Lady Princess. She was after all Mary was the finacee of The King of Saxony's nephew.

Queen Alice changed her cloths into a beautiful Imperial style dress, which had suddenly become very popular back home under Clármont Rohan. The dresses brought back images of the days of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The dress was red and gold and white, and she put her long brown hair up into a bun of curls, tying it with a dark black ribbon.

Princess Alice of Derita, the Grand Duchess of Tusacany found that the crisis in Scotland was left for the Scottish to decide. Of course she naturally supported the royalists, she herself being a Royal. But she was ever so slightly annoyed but he fact that some many other nations saw Derita as the savior of monarchies. And this year was terrible for monarchs.

She put on a small tiara and putting on a small red and golden cape of a Royal. She lifted up the little of her dress and quickly rushed outside to awake I front of the chateau for their guests to arrive.

Field Marshal Ivan Masorin, age 65, was an intimidating man. He had been born to an old military family, and could have joined the army as a general from the start, but instead started as a common soldier and rose through the ranks by merit alone. He was generally considered to be the best military mind the Empire had to offer. Thus, it came as no real surprise that Her Majesty had selected him to command the Imperial forces in the war for Scotland. He had arrived in Rostock that morning, and was, admittedly, not looking forward to a meeting with a bunch of civilians. Still, he had faced far worse in his younger days. He looked across the armored limo he and his staff were riding in, at his employer: Lady Princess Mary. "Highness," he began, "as advance warning, it is probable that we will have to do air strikes against Scotland. While this will probably harm innocents, it is needed to minimize casualties for our own forces. I am a soldier, not a politician. I hope you can accept that."

King Frederick Augustus IV of Saxony, dressed up in a beautiful uniform quickly walked outside and joined his wife. He found this whole crisis precarious and dangerous, but he had a mother who had fought tooth and nail for her own kingdom.

"Do you think that Mary will be able to win back her country?"

Lady Princess Mary, the 18 year old daughter of the King of Espana and Scots looked to the Field Marshal. She had still not changed from her white dress that she had worn the previous day when they had fled from Edinburgh, her hair was loose from its usual bun and she sas visibly tired. But her dark eyes burned with a determination.

"No. Señor, I am the one who has been put in charge of Scotland, either they like it or not. And I will not let you kill anymore civilians that are innocent. I saw my home burned yesterday. I have seen bombs thrown at my father that have harmed me. I have seen battles in the streets of Madrid and seen thousands kill guards and I have been held at gun point by Republican militants in Espana."

She paused a moment, shivering at the thought of the events of the Spanish Compaign of 2056.

"Edinburgh burns and is flooded with the blood of innocents. Do not think I am completely naive to war. You will not do anything without my permission. You may be a solider, but it is politics that rule soldiers and direct them."

Masorin broke out into a huge grin. "Good. You passed the test. It is clear that you care more about your people than about winning back your throne. Frankly, highness, the Scottish people were crazy to throw you out."
The limousine pulled up in front of the chateau. Masorin stepped outside, saluting. "Your Majesties," he greeted Friedrich Augustus and Alice, "it is an honor to meet you. Now, shall we get down to business?"

Lady Princess Mary stepped out of the limo and greeted the King and Queen of Saxony with a polite and small curtsy. Despite the supposed exploits and fancy regalia of her father and grandmother, the greater Bórbon Family was a simple one.

The Lady Princess couldn't but help but feel slightly crossed by the Field Marshal. She did not like being tested. But she could u d'etat and his actions, though that didn't mean she had to like them. She wish Lord Dundee was at her side.

"Your Majesties, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Queen Alice of Saxony reached out to hold the younger Lady Princess Mary. She found it so sad about all that had happen to Mary, she did not deserve the troubled times that had be fallen her. It was all so cruel. Andy the Queen could see the that the turmoil had surely taken its toll on the Lady Princess. Alice, as a Princess of Derita she sympathized deeply with monarchs and she hoped that Mary was okay.

"Your Royal Highness. How good to see you, though I wish that the situation wasn't what it was."

King Frederich Augustus IV of Saxony smiled at the Field Marshal. He gave a tiny bow, barely more than a nod as a sign of greeting. He was a young monarch, he had only come to the throne barely four years ago when the previous King had been overthrown following the Prussian Invasion and then the Deritain CounterInvasion of Saxony during the Great Northern War. He had been elected as his father was from the kingdom.

"Monsieur Masorin, it is a pleasure to meet you."

The King then turned to the Lady Princess, his nephew's finacee and bowed to her, in a still city fashion but far more elaborate than the greeting he had given the Monsieur Masorin. She was after all a Royal and would soon be part of his family.

"Marié. It is good to see you again and that you are safe from the troubles of those evil revolutionaries."

Frederich Augustus and his older brother, the Prince de Condé had both accidentally developed the habit of referring to Mary as Marié, the French version of her name. It had taken a year for Frederich Augustus to stop calling her Marié Katie.

Masorin knelt before the king. "Likewise," he replied. Rising, he watched his aids prepare for his role in the event. Hearing Alice's comment, he interjected, "Fortunately, Majesty, we have the chance today to correct the extremely regrettable situation in a Scotland. With the plan I have drawn up, I believe that we can have the situation stabilized within a month at most. However, I need to know: what is the level of support that we can expect from Derita? Unfortunately, the perifidous Republics in the United States of Conner and North Timeria appear to be all too eager to protect their Republican brethren. It was their support for the rebels that forced My Liege to settle merely for rescuing the Lady Princess, rather than dispelling the Revolutionaries. With Deritan support, however, we hope to assemble a pan monarchist coalition to intervene and restore order to Scotland."

Queen Alice grimaced at the quick and blunt and annoyingly straightforward questioning of what she thought that Derita could do about the situation in Derita. The King-Emperor, her father, was in Johannesburg on the other side of the globe carrying over her teenage brother who was only two years younger than Mary. Meanwhile a rumored seemingly Republican government supposedly had control of he country. Alice paused, nervous.

"Let's go inside, we can discuss this over tea."

Outwardly, Masorin smiled. "A splendid idea!" he replied. Inwardly, he cringed. Why Her Majesty had seen fit to make him be the one to parley with these aristocrats, he would never know. He never had been good at diplomacy. Fortunately, he would not have to wait long. As they sat down around the tea, he said "Your Majesties, I forgot to mention, my liege will be arriving here within the hour."
