Which tech level?

I was wondering: If a nation is around 1950 is that past tech or modern tech? Or maybe something else?
Maybe is a stupid question(?) ^^'

Call it post-WWII tech or Cold War tech

This is a roleplay question and doesn't really apply to Gameplay. Have you tried F&NI or II?

I believe most roleplayers consider tech beyond +/- 20 years or so to be past tech. 1950 would certainly fall into that category.
