Inter-Hyperbranal Infinispace
Unknown temporal/trans- universal coordinates
The RBS Sleek Marauder
"Captain! The quantum shock stabilizers are failing! We've lost control of our multiversal zero-point engines!" shouted a panicked ensign across the bridge as the ship slipped into Inter-Hyperbranal Infinispace.
"Goddammit, you worthless single-planer!" The captain said as he manipulated the ensign's skull to cave in on the brain, tearing the two segments in half.
"Crewman, you just got a promotion! Get to the ensign station and get us back into our Hyperbrane!" He barked at a cowering half-meshed cyborg.
"S-sir... w-we've fallen out of transwarp, sir. I can't get the stabilizers back online."
"ARRRRRRGH!" The newly-promoted ensign's neck made an awful crunching sound as his head spun around a full 180 degrees.
"Jakarr, tell me where in the Devourer's name we are, or you'll join the pile of bodies!"
"Uhhh... I can't... that is, we're in an unknown system, of an unknown galaxy, of an unknown universe... you get the point, si- GACKKTH" spoke the helmsman in a wavering voice before his heart was teleported from his chest cavity to the Captain's hands.
"You're all a bunch of useless haulers. They should have assigned you to one of the mining systems, not my ship. Now everyone, get all systems back online on the double, or you'll find out just how cold interplanetary space is. Believe me, it chills you to the bones."

07:19 STANDARD GALACTIC TIME
THE MILKY WAY, SAGITTARIUS ARM, ZYLIA ALPHA
THE FOURTH DIVISION
THE MULTIVERSAL DOMANAEII
WARLORD ASPHYX NIZHII

To the untrained eye of multiversal anomalies, the space around the Zylia Alpha star seemed normal. It was black and ridden with the absence of the void, but at the same time, was harboring quite a large secret. This said "secret" was completely impervious to all forms of detection, ranging from electromagnetic wave sensing to magnetic and gravitational perturbations. Nevertheless, something was hiding there, cloaked between the quantum -- nay, even the more minuscule -- buttresses of the third and fourth dimensions. And it was mighty.

A monolithic Topaz-Class Universe Detector construct was dwelling next to Zylia Alpha, cloaked in the uncertain principles between time and space. The size of the ship was comparable to one of a superjovian-sized gas giant, a quite small base by Domanaeii standards. The function of such a ship was to monitor, track, and disrupt inter-universal travel that was not sanctioned by Domanaeii High Command. It has served its purpose well, as it knocked a rather large non-universally native ship out of transit.

As the Topaz "shot down" the ship from transit, the underbelly of the ship opened to reveal several Virgil Class Destroyers and Arakesh Hivemind fighters, all of which were gigantic in their own respect, and most of which being commanded one way or another by the Topaz. Unlike the Universe Detector, these constructs did indeed exist wholly within this Universe, although they employed similar -- but rather more fallible -- methods of cloaking technologies.

"Sir, we've got several ships coming out of nowhere. The largest are five hundred meters."
The Captain paced across the bridge.
"Are weapons online?"
"Yes, sir. But our sensors tell us that these ships, despite their small size ,are very well armed."
"Well, send a customary Type 3 automated hail."
"Aye, sir."

Unknown vessels, we are members of the glorious Devourer's Ravagery. Stop your approach and cease any hostile actions or you will be annihilated. This will be your first warning, your second will be a rain of quantum hellfire on your ships. Proceed wisely.

The captain then sat back in his chair and allowed the computer systems to sync up with his brain so that, in the event of trouble, all actions would be smooth and without error.

After hearing the transmission, most of the bridge crew sat in silence, but the Captai nwas immediately giving orders.
"Send another transmission, and-" He saw the crew sluggishly moving to follow. Al lof them burst into flames and had their spines shattered at once.
"Useless beings. I'll just use the damn link." He submerged himself into the ship's systems, and sent the following transmission:

We are from the glorious dominion of the Devourer's Ravagery, lead by He Who Kills All That Lives, the Great Devourer himself. We were pulled out of our Hyperbrane by unknown means. Our interuniversal means of transport will be online shortly, and we will gladly leave.

XCS Eargoth
Eargoth Class Dreadnaught

The Eargoth was on a standard exploration assignment, in route to an unexplored nebula to collect gas samples to examine for research purposes. The Eargoth exited warpspace, and it's navigational electron shield came online to protect against debris and presure from the nebula.

On the bridge Elder Captain Jri'Gok clicked in the Xyndian language "prepare to begin collection procedures, this nebula could unlock new possibilities for our people, we need to ensure this assignment goes off without a hitch"
The First officer, an Elder Knight replied "Yes Elder Jri, shuttles are already at work"
The Elder Captain nodded and looked into the beauty of the Nebula, he had a feeling something was going to go wrong this time

Universe R0-[unintelligible]-1141
Continuum B
unknown galaxy

A VCMR "advanced expeditionary fleet", consisting of a carrier and perhaps fifty cruisers, destroyers and frigates, was currently in the process of receiving the latest batch of data from a ringworld that had been set up for tracking large-scale multiversal movements. Aboard the carrier, Commander Tynarron-GH9 briefly glanced over the data. No unusual disturbances, interestingly. No star-sized battlecruisers on haphazard paths of destruction, no rogue AIs or uprisings, no galactic fleets trying to claim VCMR space -

- ah, but there was something else.

Tynarron-GH9 knew a dimensional transit when he saw one, and this time it looked fairly serious. Apparently a planetary-scale vessel had just dropped into three-dimensional space somewhere on Continuum G of... some backwater universe, not even part of the VCMR's civilization.

It seemed as though it projected a multiversal interdiction bubble, which was at least worth investigating. Pressing a few buttons, the Commander indicated to his fleet to take a multi-continuum jump to the approximate location of the disturbance - hopefully they would arrive a few hundred astronomical units away, just to be on the safe side.
"I guess everything really does happen at once sometimes."

The VCMR is likely far less interested in interfering with those below than it used to be.

XCS Eargoth

The ships scanners were going crazy, they had picked up a massive release of energy matching nothing in the database

The Elder captain clicked "let's investigate, I have a feeling Xyndia will want to know about this"

The Eargoth seemed to stretch as it entered warpspace, the energy of it's propulsion giving away it's approach as it began moving toward the source of the energy release. The Eargoths crew had no idea what they were about to stumble upon

As the message from the newcomers were received, the crew of the ship were. . . confused.
"Did they just say that they are lead by the Great Devourer?" One of the crewmen asked.
". . .They are either trying to play some sort of mind game, or they are led by a pretender!

"You have just replied that you are led by someone named the 'Great Devourer'. . . the only Devourer that exists is one of the Domanaeii. Stand by."

Dammit, I'm tired of waiting! Pitiful beings think the Devourer is one of them. The Captain thought as he made the ship fire ten volleys of quantum torpedoes from a single bay at the ships. They shot across the darkness, their blazing scarlet fury like tiny dying stars in a desolate void. Each volley consisted of fifty torpedoes, and each torpedo harbored two hundred fifty megatons of explosive force.

You have been lied to. The Great Devourer, He Who Kills All That Lives, is the great and holy leader of The Ravagery. Stop your approach or be annihilated. This is your final warning.

Galaxy 167986x1067
Swarm Occupied Universe 4567543x10170

The conquest of this dimension had just been completed, with the last inhabited world having been consumed and added to the Keymind Network mere seconds ago. News travels fast within the Swarm, for neither time nor space mattered to the all consuming constructs. Now that the conquest and assimilation of this realm was complete, they could move on to the next, and continue the task that the creators had charged them with: the building of the weapon and the final victory of the Infinite Civilisation.

On the surface of what had until recently been that heart of a thriving interstellar civilisation, hundreds of Seeders were being constructed for the invasion of countless other universes. Many of the devices had already been completed, and in a few moments the first Seeder would launch, heralding the doom of a far away species, blissfully unaware of the fate that awaited them. The device ascended, rising above the planet before disappearing without a trace. Unfortunately, it's destination would prove to be more hazardous than anticipated.

The expeditionary force took a brief "pit stop" just outside this galaxy to deploy a pair of miniature zero-point reactors that would remotely power their fleet for as long as necessary. The black structures, ten meters across, extended a set of antennae and digitally connected to the VCMR fleet; soon the spaceships' batteries were filled and they would be able to synthesize ammunition and fuel as needed. Several cruisers and destroyers were left to defend the reactors (last time they had used an insufficient defense force and lost an entire fleet due to lack of power) while the rest of the group jumped further inwards to Zylia Alpha.

Upon arriving just outside this system's "Kuiper Belt", one of the fleet's frigates briefly opened hundreds of slots on its surface, from which came numerous tools for measuring a universe's laws of physics. Tynarron-GH9 was glad when he saw the readings - all VCMR tech would work normally here. That was important, since at that moment the scanners remotely picked up the signal of a spaceship firing "quantum torpedoes" and managed to glean some basic information about the fairly unusual weapons.

The good news was that they seemed pathetically weak compared to VCMR tech; the bad news was that it didn't seem like the unknown spacecraft had used even a significant fraction of its arsenal.

Commander Tynarron-GH9 shrugged. "Looks like we have a class-8 civilization trying to contact us. Prepare the usual response, and stow away all shipboard weapons - we don't want to seem threatening just yet." A few of the Venn scientists on R1 (the lead carrier)'s bridge operated the controls and broadcasted a standard "low-tech introduction" on every frequency they thought the XCS Eargoth could hear.

It essentially was a set of FTL positioning equations (to confirm that a civilization knew mathematics and hadn't hijacked the ships), coupled with a briefing of the VCMR's society, scale, and culture. There was a decent chance the XCS Eargoth would probably end up leaving just out of fear, but just to make sure the Commander added his own message.

Greetings, Xyndian spacecraft "XCS Eargoth". I feel it is necessary to inform you that a significant armed conflict is in progress towards the center of this star system, and that this fleet is still currently contemplating its actions. Attempts to attack either party in said conflict will likely result in your destruction, as will attacking this fleet. I suggest you evacuate, as there has been confirmed multiversal activity nearby which may end up with disastrous consequences for any class-10 or lower civilization.

We will give you ample time to warm up FTL drives if necessary and leave.

Unknown Planet
Sagittarius Arm
Milky Way Galaxy

The Seeder appeared several thousand kilometres from the surface of the barren planet, and suddenly began to accelerate, gathering speed until it smashed into the surface of the lifeless world, the force of it's impact burying it beneath the surface. The Planet had been seeded, and now its consumption would begin. Millions of Nanite's emerged from the Seeder's hull, consuming the minerals present within the crust and sending them back to the Seeder and the thousands of Nanite factories within it. Within minutes, the crust had been consumed, and trillions of Nanite's had been produced from the resources that had been harvested from planet.

The Seeder activated it's scanners, attempting to locate another nearby source of raw materials that could be used to expand the Swarm. The two other worlds within this system were gas giants, and were of little worth to the Swarm. The various asteroids were little better, being small and few in number. It reached out further, seeking a more distant source of food. That instant, it detected a massive burst of energy within a nearby system, something that immediately caught it's attention. A quick cross-reference revealed that the burst of energy was an approximately 125,000 megaton explosion, and was unlikely to be natural. It signalled the Swarm, and trillions of Nanites prepared to move out.

The Eargoth opened up a visual and audio communication, showing the huge 8'6'' Elder captain several centuries old.

He spoke in a clicking voice ''we have no hostile intentions, and we are here investigating a large energy discharge we detected in this system. We shall remain in system untill the source of the energy discharge has been confirmed, we will not get in your way, but please allow us to complete our mission in this sector, which may directly benefit my civilization by allowing for new technological opportunities, no good things come without risk.''

The Eargoth moved on impulse towards a nearby world, scanning its biosphere, the eargoth was undertaking colonization protocol, analyzing the system for worlds that the Syndicate could inhabit, the Symbol of the hive painet on the ships neck.

Set torpedoes to maximum yield. Deploy fighters and fire everything! Just as the ship prepared to comply, a massive quantum disturbance sent its sensors into a bout of insanity. A massive Goliath-Class battleship exited transwarp about fifty thousand kilometers away from the comparatively puny Harbor of Bleakness-Class warship.
At last! They have come to teach these imbeciles a- The Captain never finished his thought, for ten maximum-yield Class V quantum torpedoes were teleported onto the bridge and instantly detonated, killing him and tearing apart the entire ship in a cloud of plasma. The hulking ship sent out a transmission to all of the entities in the now-crowded system.

We sincerely apologize for our fellow officer's actions. We would like to offer all of you the chance to come to a diplomatic meeting on board our ship. Our sensors have detected four warp-capable entities in this civilization other than us, three of which apparently have multiversal transit capabilities. It would be best if we could resolve this peacefully, without any more ships having to be lost.

XCS Forgir
Crathor System

The XCS Forgir had just destroyed a large pirate vessel, having cause a core breach in the other vessel. The small 300 meter long ship was scanning a small moon that it had detected significant trilithium deposits on, which the syndicate was beginning to utilize in its starships.

It was also scanning the wreckage for valuable technological scavange, hoping to find something to help improve the Xyndian syndicate and bring the infant empire to a far higher level.

The VCMR fleet stopped in their course around the system as the gargantuan Goliath-Class vessel entered three-dimensional space at the system's center. Clearly this was a problematic turn of events. This civilization had deployed a spacecraft fifteen times the size of a Macroweapon against a space station smaller than that!

Commander Tynarron-GH9 considered his options. It was probably advantageous to submit to their request, given that they seemed completely willing to overcompensate for the slightest imperfections in their plan (whatever that was anyway). Against a class-15 civilization like this, safety came first.

Greetings, unknown spacecraft. We have received your message and are considering whether we should rendezvous at your location - ultimately it is your decision since you initiated the communication. Any weapon-assisted threats or attempts to attack VCMR spacecraft will result in return fire, and no warnings will be given.

I genuinely hope we can resolve this conflict in a manner that avoids casualties on all sides.

You may dock in Moderate Docking Bay #87. We are transmitting coordinates to you now.We agree to your terms, but you must realize that any aggression against us will not only result in your destruction, but the destruction of this system and your race. Thank you for being willing to resolve this diplomatically rather than savagely.

Carrier R1 broke off from the main fleet (which remained in the system's Kuiper Belt) and accelerated through FTL towards the Goliath-class vessel. When it got to within about two thousand kilometers, it reduced its relative velocity to zero. The carrier stayed outside, and deployed roughly one-tenth of its drones in a basic protective "shell" pattern to reduce incoming damage.

Commander Tynarron-GH9 stepped off his command position and boarded a short-range shuttle, which quickly maneuvered into "Moderate Docking Bay 87". Accompanied by a pair of floating drones, he walked off the shuttle wearing a breath-mask (as he didn't know the ship's atmospheric composition). The very short Venn commander would probably be overshadowed by these beings and their engineering, but he patiently waited for them anyway, less paranoid than before.

Four cyborgs pulled up next to the Commander on their landskimmers. One analysed his biological requirements and sent a telepathic message to him telling him it was okay to remove his mask. He then sent him a message asking to follow him to the nearest teleporter, which would take them to the diplomacy room.

The Eargoth began approaching the group of VMR ships slowly, clearly wishing to attempt a diplomatic meeting with the VMR, its weapons offline and shields at minimal.

The Eargoths captain sent another message to the group
''We are willing to attempt a peaceful meeting between our two races if this can be permitted, it would be nice to start this on the right foot''.

Aboard Goliath-Class vessel

The Commander nodded in understanding, removing his breath mask and finding the ship's atmosphere fairly tolerable. Lacking any sort of telepathic abilities, he pulled out a holographic notepad as he followed one of the cyborgs to the teleporter. He quickly drew some sketches of the VCMR carrier positioned outside the Goliath-Class, and indicated that it would be transmitting some basic first-contact information as well as translating for him once communications were established.

Edge of the Zylia Alpha System

With Commander Tynarron-GH9 in absence, control of diplomatic operations went to cruiser C11's captain.

Captain Horatyn-Y70
Cruiser C11, Advanced Expeditionary Fleet 155-6640-00903
Venn-Copard Multiversal Republic (VCMR)

Eargoth, your request has been understood, however we cannot guarantee the safety of our forces in the upcoming minutes or hours. We've opened up a hangar on the cruiser marked C11, and the diplomatic team will be meeting you in that cruiser if desired. Any notable threat to our fleet will result in immediate evacuation of your own crew members via escape pod.

Do you understand?
