Unknown vessels, we are members of the glorious Devourer's Ravagery. Stop your approach and cease any hostile actions or you will be annihilated. This will be your first warning, your second will be a rain of quantum hellfire on your ships. Proceed wisely.

The expeditionary force took a brief "pit stop" just outside this galaxy to deploy a pair of miniature zero-point reactors that would remotely power their fleet for as long as necessary. The black structures, ten meters across, extended a set of antennae and digitally connected to the VCMR fleet; soon the spaceships' batteries were filled and they would be able to synthesize ammunition and fuel as needed. Several cruisers and destroyers were left to defend the reactors (last time they had used an insufficient defense force and lost an entire fleet due to lack of power) while the rest of the group jumped further inwards to Zylia Alpha.
Upon arriving just outside this system's "Kuiper Belt", one of the fleet's frigates briefly opened hundreds of slots on its surface, from which came numerous tools for measuring a universe's laws of physics. Tynarron-GH9 was glad when he saw the readings - all VCMR tech would work normally here. That was important, since at that moment the scanners remotely picked up the signal of a spaceship firing "quantum torpedoes" and managed to glean some basic information about the fairly unusual weapons.
The good news was that they seemed pathetically weak compared to VCMR tech; the bad news was that it didn't seem like the unknown spacecraft had used even a significant fraction of its arsenal.

Greetings, Xyndian spacecraft "XCS Eargoth". I feel it is necessary to inform you that a significant armed conflict is in progress towards the center of this star system, and that this fleet is still currently contemplating its actions. Attempts to attack either party in said conflict will likely result in your destruction, as will attacking this fleet. I suggest you evacuate, as there has been confirmed multiversal activity nearby which may end up with disastrous consequences for any class-10 or lower civilization.
We will give you ample time to warm up FTL drives if necessary and leave.

Commander Tynarron-GH9 shrugged. "Looks like we have a class-8 civilization trying to contact us. Prepare the usual response, and stow away all shipboard weapons - we don't want to seem threatening just yet." A few of the Venn scientists on R1 (the lead carrier)'s bridge operated the controls and broadcasted a standard "low-tech introduction" on every frequency they thought the XCS Eargoth could hear.
It essentially was a set of FTL positioning equations (to confirm that a civilization knew mathematics and hadn't hijacked the ships), coupled with a briefing of the VCMR's society, scale, and culture. There was a decent chance the XCS Eargoth would probably end up leaving just out of fear, but just to make sure the Commander added his own message.Commander Tynarron-GH9

We sincerely apologize for our fellow officer's actions. We would like to offer all of you the chance to come to a diplomatic meeting on board our ship. Our sensors have detected four warp-capable entities in this civilization other than us, three of which apparently have multiversal transit capabilities. It would be best if we could resolve this peacefully, without any more ships having to be lost.

The Seeder appeared several thousand kilometres from the surface of the barren planet, and suddenly began to accelerate, gathering speed until it smashed into the surface of the lifeless world, the force of it's impact burying it beneath the surface. The Planet had been seeded, and now its consumption would begin. Millions of Nanite's emerged from the Seeder's hull, consuming the minerals present within the crust and sending them back to the Seeder and the thousands of Nanite factories within it. Within minutes, the crust had been consumed, and trillions of Nanite's had been produced from the resources that had been harvested from planet.
The Seeder activated it's scanners, attempting to locate another nearby source of raw materials that could be used to expand the Swarm. The two other worlds within this system were gas giants, and were of little worth to the Swarm. The various asteroids were little better, being small and few in number. It reached out further, seeking a more distant source of food. That instant, it detected a massive burst of energy within a nearby system, something that immediately caught it's attention. A quick cross-reference revealed that the burst of energy was an approximately 125,000 megaton explosion, and was unlikely to be natural. It signalled the Swarm, and trillions of Nanites prepared to move out.

Greetings, unknown spacecraft. We have received your message and are considering whether we should rendezvous at your location - ultimately it is your decision since you initiated the communication. Any weapon-assisted threats or attempts to attack VCMR spacecraft will result in return fire, and no warnings will be given.
I genuinely hope we can resolve this conflict in a manner that avoids casualties on all sides.

The VCMR fleet stopped in their course around the system as the gargantuan Goliath-Class vessel entered three-dimensional space at the system's center. Clearly this was a problematic turn of events. This civilization had deployed a spacecraft fifteen times the size of a Macroweapon against a space station smaller than that!
Commander Tynarron-GH9 considered his options. It was probably advantageous to submit to their request, given that they seemed completely willing to overcompensate for the slightest imperfections in their plan (whatever that was anyway). Against a class-15 civilization like this, safety came first.Commander Tynarron-GH9

We are transmitting coordinates to you now.We agree to your terms, but you must realize that any aggression against us will not only result in your destruction, but the destruction of this system and your race. Thank you for being willing to resolve this diplomatically rather than savagely.

Carrier R1 broke off from the main fleet (which remained in the system's Kuiper Belt) and accelerated through FTL towards the Goliath-class vessel. When it got to within about two thousand kilometers, it reduced its relative velocity to zero. The carrier stayed outside, and deployed roughly one-tenth of its drones in a basic protective "shell" pattern to reduce incoming damage.
Commander Tynarron-GH9 stepped off his command position and boarded a short-range shuttle, which quickly maneuvered into "Moderate Docking Bay 87". Accompanied by a pair of floating drones, he walked off the shuttle wearing a breath-mask (as he didn't know the ship's atmospheric composition). The very short Venn commander would probably be overshadowed by these beings and their engineering, but he patiently waited for them anyway, less paranoid than before.

Eargoth, your request has been understood, however we cannot guarantee the safety of our forces in the upcoming minutes or hours. Any notable threat to our fleet will result in immediate evacuation of your own crew members via escape pod.
