On January 2, 2016, the small nation of Dacruz was rocked by calamity as factions opposed to the government violently rose up and began the Dacruzian Civil War. 10,000 troops have deployed in various defensive positions around Dacruz City, but the air force has been crippled by EMP strikes and a tactical nuclear weapon obliterated much of the navy as it floated near the docks. The Dacruzian government is urgently asking nations across the world for assistance before the nation is devastated forever.

OOC: I hope you don't mind, but I thought I'd give a few suggestions to you If you just want to post twitter style posts, that's up to you, but if you want the better roleplayers here to enjoy your threads then these are my suggestions.

1. Describe what happens. Some like to do this like it's a novel or soemthing, I personally like to do a blend of that and screenplay, but regardless, imagine how you want it to look and then describe that.

2. Give opportunities to other players to respond. Don't have every incident be an open and shut case, and dont'have everything be totally conclusive. Like you've created a great tense situation here, make it clear that thingsare happenign but are not done yet to create tension and suggest that other players could affect things in some kind of way.

3. as the OP, you set the tone about time. So if you tie this into my other suggestions, then the time between when someone say gives an order and how you describe a military unit carrying it out (ie, in one post do you do a phone call, then an officer receiving it and accepting the orders, do you depict the orders being carried out entirely or what/) Again, imagine it as a movie.

4. I tend to find that the best way on NS to give people a fair chance to do things is to have this structure:
- a decision or policy is made or planned
- orders are given and received
- orders begin to be carried out
- orders are carried out.

If there is travel involved, then the fourth point is embarkation.

If it is about an attack on another player, then the launch of the attack can take place since there have been 3-4 posts that gave them a chance to declare gathering intelligence. They should be able to respond to the attack with countermeasures or defenses.

President Frank Velasquez of Nation of Warfare has pledged full support to the Dracruzian Government. Nation of Warfare has donated $24.7 Million in Financial Aid. Nation of Warfare has ordered to carry out its 34th Carrier Fleet to nearby shores and coastlines and for carriers to launch air raids against enemy positions. Counter-EMP systems have been placed onboard our ships. 24,000 Marines have been deployed to assist Dracruzian Forces against enemy factions in the country.

Hospital Ships have been dispatched for any wounded or critically injured civilians. And Refugee ships have been sent to evacuate every civilian at no cost. Civilians will be taken to a privately owned land area or island off the coast of Dracruz.

OOC: Aren't nuclear weapons a little to overboard. I mean a single nuclear strike can decimate a entire land mass. And sorry for the short post.

The Dominion Guard, an elite mechanized infantry unit, moves up to the front line to face down entrenched rebels. A request is cabled to the Nation of Warfare asking them to do the same so that a joint assault may be launched.

The Government also informs the Loyalist Armed Forces that, should they wish to transport the proposed UH-147F Chinooks to Dacruz, they may use the William Henry Airbase outside of Dacruz City.

7 UC-147F Chinooks are being transported onboard UC-130 Hercules aircraft. They will transport Dacruzian military personnel and civilians to wherever they need to go, provided there is no risk level capable of downing the aircraft. Landing in the middle of a light arms battle, however, is totally fine. These helicopters are still to be piloted by Loyalist pilots.

4 LAV IIIs are being brought to Dacruzia to defend the William Henry airbase our Loyalist forces are operating from.

30 BMP-1s are also being transported on board UC-130s and will be loaned to Dacruzian military personnel until after the war is over.

The BMPs and G-Wagons will be sent to the staging point, where they will join up with the other allied troops. Thank you for your assistance, and all damages incurred will be paid for by the Dacruzian government after the cessation of hostilities.

On the front line

Colonel Simon Winchester looked up from his sheet of cabled orders at the men standing in formation in front of him. The sounds of artillery boomed overhead, and lightning split the sky.

"Soldiers! Today, we fight for Dacruz! We fight for the democratically elected government of this nation! We fight for our homes and families! We fight for freedom!"

The assembled soldiers roared. Colonel Winchester turned around and unsheathed his sword. As per the military drills, the personnel behind them readied their weapons.

"CHARGE!"

The colonel ran forward, and his men followed. As soon as they had cleared the boundaries of the Dacruzian fortifications, they were greeted with a withering blast of small arms fire. The man next to Winchester took a bullet through the lung; he fell, wheezing, before he choked to death on his own gore in the dirt.

"Keep going, men! Keep go-"

An ear-splitting sound erupted in the middle of Winchester's sentence. At once, his headless body collapsed onto the ground. The Dacruzian soldiers, seeing this grisly event, turned back and ran. The first government assault on the rebel positions had been defeated.

With Marines arriving in Dracruz they immediately begun Search and Destroy Operations in nearby provinces and enemy controlled cities. Marines are trained to be aggressive and eliminate any kind of hostile target in a matter of seconds. The Marines are expected to leave the capital city and move south, to regain control of Dracruzian cities.

A Naval F-35C Lightning II drops 1,000 pound JDAM bomb in Dracuz

Marine F-18s have launched Anti-Satellite missiles to eliminate EMP systems. And some weapons have been hooked to emergency power generators to counter EMP waves. Naval F-35s have begun their own wave of airstrikes against enemy forces.

Nation of Warfare has donated locally built 18 new F-15E Strike Eagles, built by a private military enterprise that produces the aircraft.

In that case we stand by our current battle plan. Provided the rebels have no shoulder mounted weapons capable of destroying out BMP-1s you should be fine in that sector. Our UF-105s will keep the skies clear no problem and unless they have high quality surface to air missiles on standby 24/7 Loyalist troops will not be at risk. We are still willing to airlift Dacruzian military personnel directly up to the front lines if we can't see any threats to the helicopter itself.

In light of the present situation, which requires drastic measures, the Dacruzian government is unconcerned about potential side effects from your nation's chemical weapon.

The government would also be happy to accept airlift support from the Loyalist Armed Forces.

Loyalist War Status:

We are pleased to declare Dacruzian airspace rebel free, as our Arrow Interceptors have destroyed all rebel aircraft that dare take off. No more attempts to claim air superiority are expected from rebel forces.

We have now swapped out most of our interchangeable "Mission Packs" on our Arrows from air-to-air missiles to air-to-ground surveillance equipment. The images and data we are gathering of rebel lines and troop movements should allow for more successful attempts to break enemy lines and anticipate enemy attacks in the future. Data is being wired to Dacruzian and NOW military officials.

We are also now actively providing airlifts with our UC-147F Chinooks.

Parliament has turned down the Dacruzian request to be put in control of our 5 UF-105 Arrows in the country for the dual reasons of there not being enough time to train pilots in the safe and effective use of the mach 3.5 interceptor and that we cannot afford to hand over command of such advanced aircraft. Should rebels capture one or a rogue Dacruzian look too far into the design we would risk a foreign power learning about the plane's technology. However, the Royal Loyalist Air Force will take mission requests to be pretty much the same thing as a direct order provided no bombs are to be dropped on the ground itself. Aircraft interception and surveillance missions have not yet been turned down.

The Loyalist red Crystal (religion neutral version of red cross/red crescent) has arrived in Dacruzia. Unlike the military, humanitarian aid organizations in The Green Union operate with almost limitless government funds and the positive effects of their arrival are soon felt by the battered populace.

Famed Loyalist pilot Sgt. Alexandra Mctavish has gone missing from William Henry Airbase. Loyalist forces dare not risk searching far from the base and rescue efforts are regrettably sidelined in the flood of other problems. Messages have been wired to Dacruzian rebels that should they have her to return Sgt. Mctavish or face increased military action. No response from rebels as of yet. (Feel free anyone to say how this story progresses)

The first shipment of agent-green, the Loyalist non-lethal chemical weapon, has arrived for use by Dacruzian forces. This shipment is in the form of five tanks to be attached on aircraft and sprayed over enemy lines though it must be again stressed that we do not know what side effects may be caused by its use.

In other news: The BMP-1s loaned to the Dacruzian army have proved insufficient combat vehicles. in fact the Loyalist military did not buy BMP-2s which would have been much better infantry combat vehicles. As it is the BMP-1s suffer problems including low fire accuracy and relatively weak armour on the flanks and rear.

"Sir, the frontal assault has failed. The commanding officer, Colonel Simon Winchester, was killed in the attack and our forces are now being pursued by the rebels in a retreat."

President Henry slammed his fist on the desk. "Damn. We've received the data gathered by the Loyalist Armed Forces, have we not?"

"Yes, we have."

"Target the rebel lines and launch the chemical weapons provided to us by the Green Union. I trust the only civilians who will die in the barrage will be rebel-aligned ones, so this will help our war effort in two ways. Of course, the economy may suffer, but... but we'll worry about that after we conclude this war. Now transmit those orders!"

"Yes, sir." The colonel saluted, turned, and left.

Rebel lines are hit by Agent-Green chemical spray and within a few hours all the rebels and civilian population are falling ill. No observable fatalities, though we are keeping a close eye on the events from above.

Union Chinooks are prepared to airlift Dacruzian forces into the bombarded enemy lines. The chemicals will have worn off from the terrain soon and it will be safe to go in while the enemy are still sick.
