Conrad Sittlelator looked out doubtfully. The Mosley had been stationed at Krasbourn airport for refuelling and the installation of a new high altitude capability system, as well as some of the new cannons. All this had been immaculately timed to have maximum protection from the Damocles system,
In addition, three moon rockets were being launched today from the Great North. They were really manufactured by New Pavensky but had to be transported here for the propaganda boost. National morale had been stalling recently, and this would be an excellent way to push that up.

Mr Swatcher was enjoying his afternoon tea when he heard a sharp knocking on his front door. Opening it, he was greeted by 20 navvies, all covered in coaldust.

"Ya may 'ave thought to per'aps not 'ave yer coal piles in yer front yard?" one of them said dryly, "we 'ad to wade through at least thirty kilos of the stuff."

Giving Swatcher a moment to recover, the bottleneck continued, "anyway, let's get down to business, are ya gonna invite us in?"

General Elections in two weeks! Communists surge!
Radio Free Nifilat

The Communist party has made a significant breakthrough in the form of a key member of the Democratic Socialists defecting to their party, as well as a sudden influx of funds from an anonymous sponsor. However, there have been accusations from the Nationalists and the Re-Unifiers that Wardomia has been funding the communists, in an effort to turn True Nifilat into ground zero for a massive proxy war.

The Nationalists, meanwhile, have recently received even heavier weaponry than usual, including a Quanta 18 tank, a predecessor to the contemporary MBT Quanta 22 which is used by East Niphilate and the Quanta 20 Type 4, a cheaper variant which is used by the True Nifilat military and being produced by the colony Varchas.

Swatcher looked at the men suspiciously, one hand edging closer to the shotgun on the wall. Suddenly, recognition dawned on his face, and rather than get the shotgun, he grabbed a small jar of biscuits.
"You must be the ones Tarwam told me about. Please, take one of these. To most men, I'm a coal boss. However, to Tarwam and quite a few others, I'm a merchant of secrets. An investment consultant of sorts. I put their money into whomever is going to backstab their way to the top of Krasbourn whilst betting against the men with plots against them brewing, and reap a profit.

Of course, I don't work for free. Everyone pays a secret to get one. For the whispers of the Khans though, I give a much better deal. For the secrets of the Khans, I will tell you the three factions vying for power and answer any other questions you have."

The Damocles project has been expanded, and the new model the Damocles II has successfully been launched. Now, New Pavensky operates six satellites- four Damocles and two Damocles II satellites.

In addition, a moon landing has been planned for tomorrow, to coincide with the Imperium launches as a mark of solidarity between the Protectorate and the Imperium.

Looking through the charts of Wardomia's economy, Sclorini smiled. Wardomia was doing well. But more progress could be made. After pondering for a little while, he decided to consolidate Operation Enkreisung even more. Also, Wardomia's fleet would have to be expanded and upgraded.
He sent off a letter to Darkslide:

Dear Nathaniel,
Wardomia would be delighted to install this new software. However, may I ask for Wardomian Scientists to be allowed to study it and install necessary safety precautions? Thank You

Dear Maximillian, would you like to enter into a secret alliance?

Dear Conrad, we would be delighted to expand our partnership with you. Also, our new weapons systems have almost been completed. Could you send over some of that ammunition for us to design the power of the engines?

Ali. Would you like to enter into an alliance with Wardomia? One condition, however is that you expel the East Niphilate troops there. Also, Wardomia would be more than happy to help you bolster your military.

Following the Wardomia Regit Fluctus Policy recently announced by the Government, Naval spending has been increased drastically, and all ships have been updated or scrapped. A group of scientists from the Great North outpost boarded a plane set for Wardomoa, carrying with them several containers of hazardous items. Their orders were clear. Give the Wardomians what theh wanted only after they had shown their side of the bargain.

Swatcher stood up, before opening the door to the noisy coal mining complex outside. "Not a safe room, but somewhere to noisy to eavesdrop. I don't want to know what you do with my product. Sclorini decided to start Operation Enkreisung once and for all. To consolidate Wardomian Dominance.
To Jon Pertwee:

Dear Jon, I propose we sign a treaty of Alliance separate to the GPA. Also, we would like to ask you to not enter into any alliance without us, provided we do the same for you. The alliance should be called the Arcadia Pact, or The Pertwee-Sclorini Pact. Feel free to give suggestions. On another note, would you be willing to create a common market and a standard currency with us?

Pondering the situation, Sclorini decided to once more consult his ministers and Advisors.

Cusher was a new aide. Born in the Fortress, he had always been a stern patriot, and worshipped his country. He looked about the room, wondering who would step in next. He gasped. The Generalfeldmarschall himeself was here! Field Marshall Kolt! GroBadmiral Grey! Lieutenant Morish! General Patszerkruppen!
All of Wardomia's heroes were here! He was awestruck.
"So, gentlemen. We have a few things on the agenda today. But first, report on our military position."
"We have allowed Takkal some breathing space. Water is allowed to enter. The fleets are ready at any moment."
"Panzergruppe Kolt is ready to embark and go at any moment."
"The WEF and the Army is at the highest form of readiness. We are good to go."
"We have achieved economic self-suffeciency. Autarky. Our defences are built. All is in readiness."
Satisfied, Sclorini turned to his economic advisors.
"Are we doing well?"
"Very, sir. We are doing excellently."
Sclorini paced the room again and again.
He finally spoke.
" Operation Enkreisung will commence next year. Start preparing for it now."
"Yes sir! Heil! Heil! Heil!"

"All right, Swatchie, let's get down to business. Khan secrets for Imperial ones." The spokesman produced a document from the briefcase that he carried.

1. Khan is stepping up cyber-security in preparation for cyber warfare.
2. The Khan government is toying with the idea of hiring the Bottlenecks.
3. Khan had developed an old genetic modification process that strengthens physical characteristics at the expense of mental stability and humility. It is now being put into use again.
4. A cult resides in Khan. They have allied themselves with the Capala states. Motives are unknown.
5. A separate faction exists in Khan. The Knights of the River Styx. Have demonstrated the ability to revive the recently deceased (definition of recently: day old corpse). Motives unknown.

Dear Alberto,
I would delightfully agree to your proposal. However, this means that Wardomia, like wisely, should not enter into a treaty without us. A standard currency and a common marker will also be discussed further. Also, I propose merging the Pandorica Alliance and the Allied Nations into the Pandorica Allied Nations. What do you think?

The Mosley

At last, the Mosley had departed Krasbourn. Kraan had just received a few rumours about a Kasterborous-Wardomian alliance, and the potential of an anti-Imperium pact had occupied the minds of all those in the Imperator's Court. Eventually, there was no other choice.
"Spring the Mousetrap."

Niphiline Sea, Red Sky Fleet

"There she comes... "

Several huge objects fell from the sky, and soldiers hurriedly rushed to get them on the ships and back to the Imperium. There wouldn't be any room for error. Not now, anyway.

TAKSEC Tower

"SIR! We've gone dark!"
"Sir! We need orders now!"

The Spymaster recoiled in horror. No way. There was no way the Imperium had bluffed him like this. No way...
He imagined Kraan laughing again, with his nasty smile and that single golden incisor. Could that roach have actually misdirected the entire Cyberius into an obsolete naval conflict?

He looked back at the screen. They actually did it. While Wardomia and himself had been watching the seas, tearing the ports apart looking for the smallest smuggler, they had given President Wind rockets with backdoors. With massive fuel tanks to fill up with refined Pietet.

Now Kraan has Pietet rockets. No, not just that. He could very easily turn one into a missile.

There was no more time to contemplate his mistakes. Now, Takkal was of no use to either the Imperium or Wardomia. It was a matter of time before a hot war erupted. Grabbing the telephone, he rushed forward to start emergency protocols.

Ali turned back to look at the monitor. One of the satellites had been spotted adjusting towards a lunar orbit. "What in the world..."

The Imperator tapped his nose impatiently. Things would only get more hectic from here. They needed to move fast. As Kraan had promised, Pietet had been identified on the hijacked rockets. He doubted Wardomia risk war immediately, before they had expanded this pact. SO, at elast now they had time to further fortify their defences.

First of all, a pact with the Khan Empire was in order. Regardless of what had happened in the past, Khan was someone who could work with the Imperium, especially since Wardomia was involved. A gift had been prepared- an ArchAngel-class airship carrier en route to Varchas. Soon, a few more Behemoths would follow.

The Holy Imperium of East Niphilate invites the Khan Empire to the Sittlelator-Khan Pact, inclusive of a defensive pact, and the exchange of pre-agreed technologies and manufacturing rights, and the continued mutually beneficial relationship we share.

PD HQ, Great North
Kraan sat next to the crackling fire, considering how well Mousetrap had turned out. What a fantastic plan, and what a tremendous execution.

Now, however, there were new quarries to attend to. The talk of a Kasterborous Gallifrey-Wardomian Pact was troubling. Thus, he needed some people on the inside to find out exactly what was going on. Wardomia was too much of a risk- he had been unable to gauge quite how powerful their misinformation and counter espionage systems were, and their leaders were cunning men indeed.
Kasterborous Gallifrey on the other hand, seemed a far better choice. Liberal countries tended to lay off extensive security. In addition, that talk of political muddle there was quite assuring that the police would have a hard enough time trying to get order in place, let alone catch professional foreign spies. Yes... he would send a few of his worms tunneling into Kasterborous Gallifrey.

The Emperor was pleasantly surprised that the Imperium had contacted him first with regards to an alliance. Normally, he would have contacted them first, but no matter. A distrubing situation had arisen in Takkal. Pietat had been smuggled off the island in Imperium hands, good news. A war might be imminent between Wardomia and the Imperium, bad news. Sighing, Khan picked up his pen.

To the Imperium

I will accept the terms mentioned as the primary agreement of a larger alliance. Additional terms will be discussed at a future date. I aslo suggest against outwardly opposing Kasterborous Gallifrey. Their mechanised units are second only to Darkslide and would prove an invaluable ally in general.

To Kasterborous Gallifrey

The time has come to reach an agreement. However, I reserve the right to parley only with Gallifrey and not Wardomia. My nation already has a treaty with them and we would prefer not to further strengthen their position on my continent.
