Em. Procopios Dimakakos, Diplomatic Mission to the Infinite Sith Empire
En route to the Nemean Abyss, Alpha Quadrant — circa 1366 XS

"… The Infinite Sith Empire partially benefited from the Sivulon Trade Network, interstellar trade routes that stretched for thousands of light years across the Alpha Quadrant. Foreign goods from other places in the galaxy came into the empire through the merchant fleets of the Perseid Federation and many others. Some of the imported products that the Sith Empire received included Nixxakaia wine, exotic metal alloys, metamaterials and molecular computing components the likes of which they have never seen. …"

Procopios continued to pay attention to the one hour documentary playing on his datapad about the Infinite Sith Empire's history. So far the video was past the 35:00 mark, and the video just kept playing and playing. It certainly has been a long period of time that passed since any Perseid ship crossed paths with the ships of the Nemeans — what the Perseid merchants once called them. By this time it had been three days since his spacecraft left the Sivulon Reach and traveled through the old routes that his forefathers forged in the stars. Having been in the same position in his seat for a while, his joints seemed to be locked for a while; and so he shifted his body slightly so that he could feel a bit more comfortable. A drone came over to his seat and offered him a cocktail of magberry juice with some light pyrohydris. Offering him a glass it said to him, "Would you care for some, Emissary?"

He turned his head and the datapad automatically paused the video. "Yes, please." The drone slowly placed the glass on the table in front of him, and immediately left his presence after the diplomat thanked it. Slowly picking it up and moving the contents of his beverage around, he turned back his gaze at the pad, and it started to play from where it left off. He took a tiny sip from his beverage and placed it on the folding table in front of him. "… The Siths, while they benefited from the Nemean Channel that branched off from the main Sivulon Passage, didn't entirely need the Trade Network to survive economically. After all, they had abundant resources at their disposal, and they were also connected to other interstellar trade routes…"

His diplomatic shuttle, which could be barely distinguished from the surrounding pitch black void round it, wasn't a large ship — its length hovering only around a hundred meters — but it was the craft that will be carrying the Perseid ambassador to the Infinite Sith Empire, the subject of the video. From the viewpoint of the universe, or at least the viewpoint of a ship passing by, the shuttle was better distinguished by what its phase drive was emanating; which made it appear to be a rogue comet. While the destination was certain, what wasn't was the Sith Empire itself. How long must it have been since any Perseid had seen the Nemean Abyss and the worlds that were in it? This must be why Procopios was watching that documentary so he could have some idea of what happened in the past three centuries.

From a distance, the capital world of the Nemeans was beginning to come into view — first as a faint sparkle of light that blended well with the dotted background of space, then as a more discernible sphere that stood out. As the ship came closer, finer details could be made out by Procopios — particularly spacefaring vessels that came from all directions, the cloud formations that encompassed the planet, and a natural satellite orbiting it. So this must be their seat of government, the diplomatic emissary thought to himself. By this time, the video was playing its last few minutes, concluding the documentary with some parting thoughts to ponder on.

His itinerary was already laid out by the Organ of Foreign Relations at the recommendation of the Sith Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy. Among the items in his itinerary, it included that he will be meeting with the head of the Foreign Ministry, visiting a few important locations throughout the Empire, and meet with the Sith Emperor — all in a span of ten days, for the universe had a nasty obsession with keeping things as far apart as possible. Sophonts might as well drag out their schedules to have as much time as possible.

As the craft approached the planet's gravity well, its phase drive stopped, and a visible ripple was produced from the ship's sudden return to subluminal velocities. The streams of light dissipated into thin air, like the fading glistening of glass when the lights turn dim. Surely the Nemeans would take notice of this non-Sith spaceship within reach of their holdings… A few ships of the Empire may have detected the Perseid craft arriving into their territorial space, and proceeded to hail it — as was their standard procedure. In fact, all star-states would've probably done the same with UFOs. "Attention, unidentified vessel," signaled an Imperial Star Destroyer that was most likely part of the Home Fleet, "this is the Imperial Star Navy. You are entering restricted exoatmospheric space; state your point of origin and your purpose in the Sith Empire."

The voice of an AI responded to the Nemeans' hailing. "Imperial Star Navy, this is a diplomatic shuttle responding; point of origin is Perseid Federation. … Requesting clearance for docking, carrying diplomatic envoy of the Omospondia."

The diplomat was welcomed by the Siths in a decent modus operandi — not terrible as to cause a stir but not so great as to suggest that they were in very good terms for a long time. Then again, the Perseids would feel the same way; with the questionably totalitarian Sith-headed government and all. An army of state journalists flocked to get a glimpse of the sight of him in the spaceport. With a small security contingent he was brought to the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy Offices in order to meet Darth Ravage — the Sith Emperor may have to wait a bit before his Highness may want to acquaint with Procopios. As he exited his vehicle, some of the people took notice and caused a commotion. It was said time and time again, no Perseid contact had been made to or from the Sith Empire ever since the former distanced from the galaxy — perhaps this long hiatus in Perseid-Nemean relations will end now.

The Infinite Sith Empire has stood unyielding for more than five thousand years, it is a testament to the strength and security of the Sith that rule them and the Emperor that governs them all. The Empire has faced many obstacles in it years - political, economically, and military - and had stood against them all. Many space-faring civilizations cannot comprehend how several species allowed themselves to be rule over by a psi organization, to create a society where it is massive social classes between Sith and non-Sith, and even furthermore how none of it citizens have problems with it. The Infinite Empire doesn't care if you don't understand as long as you respect.

So, when the Perseid Federation had contacted them after their centuries of isolation, the Sith was understandable surprise and suspicious. The Sivulon Trade Network was a boon to the Imperial economy and while the Empire have enormous amount of resources due to the territory that they occupied along with several other trade routes, the trade network was one of the trade routes that supplied large amount of credits into the economy. Therefore, when the Perseid enter a state of isolation and close down the Sivulon Trade Network, the Infinite Empire was hit with a year-long recession before their powerful economy was able to recover.

The Dark Council, the governing body of the Infinite Sith Empire, had debated for days on reentering diplomatic contact with the Perseids. The Council was on the verge of declining because they knew that with the end of the Perseid Federation's isolation, the Sivulon Trade Network would without a doubt reopen and the Lords of the Council have no wish to allow their empire to become economically entangle with the Perseid Federation again. After all, the loss of the trade network was a strong hit to the Empire's economy.

In the end, the Council approved of reopening diplomatic contact. Why? Because the Sith Emperor commanded so. The eternal ruler, through psychic contact with the Dark Council, had commanded the councilors to accept the Perseid's diplomats and that he is personally meeting with their ambassador. This shocked the Darths as the Emperor tend not to involve himself in much of the affairs of state, this is not to say that the immortal monarch is isolated from society, but he has a hands-off policy and trust his council to rule in his name.

With the royal command of their ultimate master, the Dark Council started to plan for the eventual arrival of the Perseid delegation. The Imperial Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy have contacted the Perseid Organ of Foreign Relations to plan the events and meetings that their ambassador will have when they arrive to Zaras.

Nevertheless, the Perseid delegation arrival was a surprise, not because the Sith wasn't aware of them coming, but the route that they have used. When the Infinite Sith Empire opened their trade to the Sivulon Trade Network, the Sith of that time have decided to help them create a route to lead them straight to Zaras, the Imperial capital world. However, with their isolation, the route was closed and have been for the past three centuries, therefore, it was a shock when it was used and unsurprisingly by the Perseids.

Darth Ravage, the head of the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, was understandable upset. He is distrustful by nature and the Sith didn't like how the Perseid got close to the Empire without their knowledge. If they were the enemy, they could have gotten a few bombardments of the planet, if one ignores the various planetary defense weapons and energy shields for the major cities. Of course, this is Lord Ravage paranoid nature that let him see threats when there isn't one yet it is this paranoid that has made him a great diplomat and was able to advance up the Sith Sphere until he has reached the top of the leadership and have been there for more than a decade.

The Perseid delegation have reached the Citadel, the largest mega-structure on Zaras as it holds the main offices for all the Imperial Spheres, the three Ministries, and is the home of the Sith Emperor. Bastion, the capital city, is entirely a government city and practically each building is offices and such for one of the Sith Spheres and Imperial Ministries. The Perseids was sent into the Sith Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy's section of the Citadel. As they walked through the main offices, they can see dozens of Imperials and Sith of different species from human to Kaleesh inhibiting it. It is quite easy to tell a Sith from a non-Sith as the Imperial wear professional black outfits, where the Sith have a mixture of formal and armor.

They can see the Imperials defer to the Sith, but the Sith Lords didn't overlord their position over them as each one of them, Sith and Imperial, have gotten their position through merit.

The Perseid ambassador entered the head of the foreign affairs' office and there are the other end of the room sat the Lord of the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, Darth Ravage. Ravage was a Zabrak Sith, one of the six species that make up the Infinite Empire.

The Darth stood up, his golden eyes (a unique trait in every Sith) stared calmly at the ambassador, "Emissary Procopios Dimakakos... welcome to the Infinite Sith Empire."

The Citadel of Bastion, Zaras
Nemean Abyss, Alpha Quadrant — circa 1366 XS

The great Citadel of Bastion was indeed as impressive as what the documentary had described. It was not just a complex of government offices kept away from the rest of the city by a thick wall, but it was in its own right a building. As his vehicle passed through the massive portal to the Citadel, he noticed that the entire complex was structured in a manner that brought up the semblance of an elaborate temple dedicated to the gods. Massive walls flanked the main avenue that led to the central square, where a titanic palace towered over the other buildings. In the distance was the skyline of Bastion, which appeared to be swarmed by spacecraft of many shapes and sizes. To the emissary, the Citadel was fitting for an image of absolute power that stood for centuries.

His vehicle slowed to a stop in front of the main offices of the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, along with a contingent of guards. A translator provided by the Empire was part of the cortège as well, even though Procopios could've just as easily brought a translator drone. Part of the reason that he didn't was because he believed sophont translators were more accurate than artificial intelligence — since the former had a knowledge of the linguistic structure of a certain language while the latter required words and their equivalents in other languages — but I digress.

Entering the entrance he was introduced to a large and spacious lobby — which was indeed impressive for a foreign affairs section. The guards directed the Perseid ambassador to Darth Ravage's office, a route that went through a series of long hallways and decorated colonnades. Sophonts of all kinds were walking past the entourage, occasionally one or two would turn their heads and look at the visiting delegate.

He noticed that there is some kind of dress code that was in place in the Sphere. Some of them were dressed in black while others had in addition protective coverings. Asking his translator in Universal he wanted to know, "Pardon me for asking such a nonessential question, but why are some government employees clad in armor?"

The human translator — who knew how to communicate in Perse — replied with a smile, "That's because they are Sith. Imperial employees are identified by their black uniforms, while Sith are identified by their armor. It's pretty easy to tell the two apart in these offices."

"So I'm guessing you're an Imperial?" Procopios pointed at his black apparel.

"Indeed. Is this your first time in the Infinite Empire?"

"That's right. In fact I had been brushing up on its history and its culture for a while before my diplomatic mission to Zaras was to begin."

"That's quite studious of you," the translator quipped. As they turned a corner he then said to the Perseid, "This is Darth Ravage's office. Be warned, he can be a bit distrustful of foreign envoys."

Two guards opened the doors before the group, and he and his translator entered the antechamber of the office. Perhaps the room on the other side was more grand than this place, at least according to his presumptions. Procopios was then led to a particular door by the translator, who opened it for him. "Darth Ravage's main office is right through this door." The guards turned and exited the antechamber while the translator and the Perseid envoy went in.

The room was quiet and mostly empty. On one end was the door of the office, while on the other was a desk with someone sitting behind it on a large chair. Before that was what would be equated to a low table where sophonts would gather around to drink beverages. Overall the place was stately to adequately describe it. The Darth rose to his feet as he eyed the Perseid approach him. He had golden eyes, which were perhaps a unique genetic feature to his race (Zabrak), but Procopios could be wrong. Calmly he welcomed the Perseid in the Imperial vernacular and said, "Emissary Procopios Dimakakos, welcome to the Infinite Sith Empire." The translator said the same thing to Procopios in Perse.

Procopios smiled and gave a gesture of respect that conformed to the Infinite Empire's cultural norms. He replied in Perse, "Thank you, Darth Ravage. The Perseid Federation sends its salutations and its respects." He paused to give some time for the translator to relay the message in Imperial.

There are many among the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy that are surprise that Darth Ravage was able to rise up the leadership until he was able to take command. Many would expect that his distrust of foreign governments would prevent him from rising up the leadership board yet in fact it had serve him perfectly. Darth Ravage for the past decades has been able to combined expansion and diplomacy to a entirely different level. Many of his predecessors have picked one side of the Sith Sphere, but Ravage have been the norm and used both. His tactical mind combined with his diplomatic skills have assisted him gladly, in fact Imperial territory have been this secure due to much of his actions.

Darth Ravage watched the Perseid emissary as his mind forms and discarded plans after plans. Despite being the Empire's chief diplomat, he doesn't trust foreign envoys much, mostly because they aren't a part of the Empire and also because they isn't Sith. Then again, he sees any Sith that isn't part of the Dark Council insignificant. Nevertheless, his Emperor had commanded and he shall obey.

“And the Empire accepts them, despite the centuries of isolation from the Perseid Federation.” Even before it started, the Sith Lord already sent a diplomatic barb. “Emissary Dimakakos, the Perseids' return was met with mixed acceptance by the Dark Council and only by the grace of the Emperor that your return was welcome by the Empire.”

Darth Ravage continued to speak, “Nevertheless, please sit,” he motioned to the chair in front of his desk before he himself sat down, “the Empire wish to know the reason of the Perseids’ isolation in case the same thing happen again.”

The reason is quite simple, Ravage would rather know now before he allowed the Infinite Sith Empire to be place in that position again. If it can be prevented than he would have the knowledge on how, if not, then he will ensure that the year-long economic recession will never happen again when the Federation went into its isolation and the Sivulon Trade Network collapsed.

He was happy that the Siths were considerate enough to accept that the Perseids were once away from the affairs of the galaxy for some time, despite the adverse effects that were brought about by the decline of the Sivulon Trade Network on its beneficiaries — one of which was the Infinite Sith Empire. However, Procopios would understand why the Sith would be upset about their previous isolationism. "Emissary Dimakakos," the Darth said with a more serious tone, "the Perseids' return was met with mixed acceptance by the Dark Council and [it was] only by the grace of the Emperor that your return was welcome [sic] by the Empire." Gesturing to the chair in front of his desk he said, "Nevertheless, please sit."

Procopios did so as the Darth sat on his chair — the Perseid sat to the right of Ravage, while the translator sat to his left. As expected, the Sith went right to the heart of the issue. "The Empire wish to know the reason of the Perseids' isolation in case the same thing happen again. [sic]"

This question was asked with good reason. After all, the sudden shutdown of one of the most prospective and profitable trade networks in the Alpha Quadrant may have brought some turbulent economic conditions for the countries that once benefited from free travel and immersive trade that was mediated by the Omospondia. Its merchant fleet was once one of the many pillars of commerce and economic activity in this region of the great spiral — one that saw goods and commodities of all kinds on display from the Sivulon-Solarian Trade Junction to the furthest reaches of the rim. Fast forward three hundred years, and now the Perseids were attempting to not only restore economic ties with trade partners, but also attempting to hopefully assure those trade partners that it will not happen again.

"I can assure you and the Dark Council that the Perseid government has no intention of returning to isolation," he replied as he was offered a sweet-smelling cup of tea. After sipping he continued, "The primary reason why the Perseids withdrew from the galaxy for three centuries is because of the overwhelming flow of migrants coming in from other parts of the Sivulon Reach, particularly those coming from Firasai star-states. That, along with the government looking inward instead of outward, had caused us to enter isolation." The translator gave the approximate Nemean equivalent.

"However, I believe that the maintenance of the Sivulon Trade Network shouldn't be the responsibility of just one nation, but the responsibility of all nations that benefit from the Network. Don't you think so, Darth Ravage?"

Darth Ravage raised a nonexistent eyebrow at the reason of the Perseid Federation. He cannot comprehend why any government thought that if they have an over-population problem they isolate themselves. The Sivulon Trade Network should have provided the Federation a massive amount of credits to easily fund the colonization of several worlds or even the terraforming of some. Also, the Infinite Empire would have no problem in assisting the Perseids in terraforming any worlds nearby to lift their migration problem, if asked. Nevertheless, he does understand why many individuals went to the Federation to work because it was practically the center of the Sivulon Trade Network and every trading ship was staffed by Perseids. So, he can understand, he doesn't exactly agree, but unfortunately he can understand and if he can understand it, Darth Ravage has no doubt that the Dark Council would to.

He idly wondered if the Sith Emperor knew the problem, Ravage wouldn't be surprise if their eternal ruler did know about the Federation's issues. The Sith's ultimate master always knows more than he let on.

"I can see the problem, but I hope you realize that if the Sivulon Trade Network is rebuilt, then there is a chance that it may happen again. I hope this time the Federation would look outward and find alternatives to another large migration event in the future." Darth Ravage said as he waved his hand in the negative toward the assistant whom have brought in the drinks.

He was shocked though at the words of the Perseid emissary. It is known that the Sivulon Trade Network was maintained by the Perseids and therefore with their isolation, the entire network collapsed as there was no one else to ensure its survival. He has read many journals of his predecessors in the era of the Sivulon Trade Network and learned that the limited Imperial influence in one of the most profitable trade network in this region of the galaxy was a constant annoyance for the Sith Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy. It was only the economic gains that the network provided that ensured the Dark Council's acceptance of the status quo. However, the Perseids admittance that the trade network's maintenance should be assisted by more than just themselves has gotten Darth Ravage curious.

"Explain what you mean by that Emissary Dimakakos." The Sith Lord asked.

The Sith was perhaps unconvinced at Procopios' statement — at least, that was what the emissary's Metaverse eye presumed. After all, they could've asked from their fellow trade partners to share the load of their previous migrant crisis. "I can see the problem," he told the Perseid, "but I hope you realize that if the Sivulon Trade Network is rebuilt, then there is a chance that it may happen again. I hope this time the Federation would look outward and find alternatives to another large migration event in the future."

He wasn't entirely wrong, Procopios thought to himself, but he wasn't entirely correct either. A more valid reason to Perseid isolationism would be the Norman star-states, which weren't exactly "friends" of the Omospondia. In fact, one could make the comparison of the relationship between the Federation and the Normans to what would be called a "Mexican standoff" in the language of ancient Terran humanity. Yet, he does have a point.

This may be an opportunity for Procopios to communicate to Darth Ravage the possibility of alleviating the current refugee crisis the Perseids were currently experiencing. "Then my timing is perfect," he put down the tea cup on the saucer. "The Omospondia has requested assistance from the Infinite Empire concerning the current migratory— I mean, refugee crisis. A wave of Betricans were coming from the direction of the galactic core to our territorial space, and our core systems — particularly Gasan, Xenia and Eber — have refused to accommodate refugees that are currently residing in the Kassaras and Avis systems. With that in mind, we are reaching out to many long-time trading partners in the Sivulon Trade Network that they may also accommodate this influx so that this chance that — in your own words 'may happen again' — will not happen."

However, Procopios' other remark may have disturbed the Sith Lord's once relaxed demeanor. The Siths weren't exactly the most involved in the Trade Network — only cashing in on the money that was being gained from the lucrative interstellar lanes. The diplomat's eye indicated signs of both perturbance and curiosity, but again, those were presumptions. Metaverse eyes can only attempt to figure out a person's current state of emotions at surface value, and not ascertain the inner thoughts of a person.

The Sith Lord may want the emissary to elaborate further. "Explain what you mean by that, Emissary Dimakakos."

"Well," he sipped again, "since multiple parties are using — or will be using — the Sivulon Trade Network in order to participate in commerce and trade with other nations, it would be fair if everyone participating in the trade would contribute to the peace and stability. We don't think it is fair for us to maintain security throughout the network while the rest of the Quadrant does nothing but participate in commerce and trade. After all, the Astronautikon is limited by the sheer size of the Network, which covers tens of thousands of light years." After pausing in order to give some time for the translator to communicate the message he continued, "Therefore it is a must for other interstellar states to contribute to the security of the interstellar lanes so that merchant vessels passing through the Sivulon Trade Network can be assured that they can do so securely without having to worry about space pirates or other threats, and so the money gained from this network can keep on flowing."

Darth Ravage blinked in shock at the request of the emissary, not because of the request, but why they needed to ask for help in the first place. The Sith Lord cannot comprehend of any territory underneath the authority of the Infinite Sith Empire having a choice in what the Empire's commands them to do. The absolute law of the Empire is never questioned, therefore, how the Perseids's star systems actually refuse to follow the wishes of their leaders leaves Darth Ravage baffled.

"I...see," Darth Ravage hesitated slightly. Nevertheless, he pushed such bewilderment aside, the Sith would look more closer in how the Federation's government operates so he can prevent such shock from forming again. "These 'Betricans' as you referred them as, is there a reason why they are refugees? Is it because of natural disaster, theological or sociological differences, war?" He asked curiously. Before he accepts such a request, he would rather know what he is allowing in the Empire and if they are a threat. If he does accept the request, he would need to speak to Darth Javor, the Lord of the Sith Sphere of Production and Logistics, as his governmental department is in charge of humanitarian support.

He leaned back against his chair as he processed what Emissary Dimakakos requested of the Infinite Sith Empire to participate in. The Sivulon Trade Network was -is- one of the largest trade routes in the Alpha Quadrant and at its height, it was one of the most profitable trade networks to the Infinite Empire. Even the criminal elements have realized such, and while it was profitable, the Sivulon trade routes were constantly attacked by pirates. It was unsurprisingly that with it collapsed, piracy in those areas declined and it made it easier for the Empire to crush any remaining pirate groups near Imperial territories. Alas, with the return of the Sivulon Trade Network, it would once again be besieged by pirates and other criminals and to be asked to assist the Perseids with security of the trade routes is something that the Empire would have gladly accepted.

Such an opportunity is too good to be true as Darth Ravage narrowed his eyes on the emissary. The Dark Council is well aware of how the quadrant's interstellar states perceived the Infinite Sith Empire as. The Sith Sphere of Intelligence is well qualified at their job in gathering information of the various events that happened in the region the Empire's occupies. Ravage wondered if this is just a way to get the Imperial Navy tangled up in activities far from Imperial space that it would take some time for their fleets to return to the Empire in case of an attack. Maybe, it is his paranoid, his distrust of foreign entities that allowed such thoughts to be born.

"Emissary Dimakakos such an offer is an opportunity that we would have gladly accepted, but I hope you realize that not many people would look kindly on the Infinite Empire assisting the Federation and the other nations in patrolling the Sivulon Trade Network. There are many civilizations that are concerned by our very existence due to how different our society is to theirs." Darth Ravage hated talking like this, if this was something different that he wouldn't care and have no problem accepting the offer, but the Sivulon Trade Network is more important than their pride. He honestly doesn't know why many nations have a problem with the Infinite Empire, but then again this is democratic governments he is talking about. They have always had that arrogance on the basis that their form of government is the correct one and anyone that doesn't have it would be a threat to the peace and security of the galaxy.

His Metaverse eye was beginning to assess the reaction of the Sith Lord, even as Procopios finished off what was left inside his cup. The Darth's facial expression seemed to be indicating that he was hesitant. After all, refugees can be problematic. While this ophthalmic augmentation was helpful in discerning many things that one would never discern, just how much can one see with it? "I… see," Darth Ravage replied to Procopio's initial request. "These 'Betricans' as you referred them as, is there a reason why they are refugees? Is it because of natural disaster, theological or social differences, war?"

To that question, Procopios answered, "We don't have most of the specifics in regards to the cause of this, but many government Organs suspect that the refugees came to our territorial space to flee war, or perhaps genocide." The translator gave the approximate Nemean equivalent. The diplomat continued, "In fact, many of the ships the Astronautikon encountered appear to have structural damage that we can attribute to ship weaponry. There is a prevalent anxiety in the air among Perseid citizens that the hostile party that is pursuing them may soon intrude into Perseid space to search and exterminate the refugees — one of the reasons why some of our core systems were reluctant to accept the Betricans."

He paused for a moment to refill his cup. "While development of our newly established colonies is under way, they may not be sufficient to support the influx of refugees due to limited resources and infrastructure. This is why we are asking the Infinite Empire to accommodate some Betrican refugees to lessen and share the burden. Please understand that this problem isn't just confined to the Omospondia, but is a current issue that many interstellar polities in the Alpha Quadrant are facing."

At least Darth Ravage seemed happier to accept Procopios' other request. With multiple parties contributing to the security of the Sivulon Trade Network, piracy, terrorism and other criminal activities would decrease, less logistical effort would be exerted by the Astronautikon, and merchant vessels may use the trade lanes to travel to their destinations with nothing to fear. Plus, the Perseid armed forces don't have to be overstretched as much anymore. Darth Ravage could certainly see reason in Procopio's statement — as it could improve relations between the Infinite Empire and the Omospondia beyond "just trading partners" — but despite hinting at accepting, there was a problem. He could see it in his face, even if he had his augmentation removed.

"Emissary Dimakakos," he responded bluntly, "such an offer is an opportunity that we would have gladly accepted, but I hope you realize that not many people would look kindly on the Infinite Empire assisting the Federation and the other nations in patrolling the Sivulon Trade Network. There are many civilizations that are concerned by our very existence due to how different our society is to theirs."

Procopios nodded in agreement. To many star-states, a military presence in the trade lanes may or may not be a good sign. Cruisers and frigates patrolling the dark and vast ocean of the cosmos could be interpreted in many different ways by many — it could mean that they may be arming themselves in order to prepare for a powerful enemy, or that they may be making provisions for an invasion. In addition to that, more liberal democratic governments in the Quadrant — and even individual statesmen and citizens — viewed the Imperial government as an antagonistic agency. Even some Perseids were against the idea of wanting to reestablish relations with the Imperials. To those democratic star-states, the Infinite Sith Empire was a bastion of totalitarianism and authoritarianism, where their citizens cannot speak out or do anything against the regime for fear of apprehension. Besides that, nations like the Infinite Empire are often the ones responsible for threatening the stability and peace in the galaxy — something that they wouldn't tolerate.

Yet, to many people — including Procopios — nations with democracy as the rule can have extraordinary superiority complexes, thinking that the way that they govern protects sapient rights and guarantees the freedoms of its citizens; as if other governments cannot achieve such things. While democracy is indeed an important value in the Perseid Federation, stability was recognized by its leaders as more essential. "I can assure you with confidence that the Omospondia does not share the concerns with those polities. At the end of the day there is no such thing as a correct organization of society. For us, the security and of the Sivulon Trade Network and the prospects of greater commercial activity with our trading partners are of greater importance than fretting about the features of a nation's culture."

Darth Ravage gazed blankly at the emissary as he explained about the Betrican refugees. The Sith Lord is not surprise that they abandoned their home due to war, the loss of any territory of civilizations tend to be caused by war. War, however, is something that the Empire knows well, though it may have been centuries since they had last been at war, they do have a militaristic society that is always ready for battle.

He can understand the Perseid citizens' concern of an invasion from the hostile group that attacked and defeated the Betricans. He sent an amused look at Procopios, if his own people are worried about an attack, then shouldn't Ravage be worried of an attack on his own people? He wondered what the emissary would say if asked, but in the end, it doesn't matter, if the hostile party decided to attack the Infinite Empire, then they will understand the folly of attacking the Sith.

“Very well, the Empire will accept the refuges on the conditions that they inform us of all that they know of their attacker.” Darth Ravage said simply yet firmly. The autocratic nature of the Infinite Sith Empire easily allows such decisions to be made quickly and decisively. Of course, there are certain decisions that he can't make without the Dark Council's approval, but as the Lord of the Sith Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, practically one of a dozen of the absolute leaders of the Empire below the Emperor himself, there are not that many decisions that he can't make on his own authority.

Darth Ravage nodded his head slowly to the emissary's reassurance after he explained to Procopios about his concerns on how other star-states may feel about the Infinite Empire's participation in patrolling the Sivulon Trade Network. Despite common beliefs, the Empire is quite a stable body, it militaristic culture and Sith's obedience has allowed it society to have stability and peace. While, the Infinite Empire's methods is harsher than most, ultimately they are quite adept in ensuring stability; the Empire is quite skill in using mercy and punishment to devastating effect.

“If we accept, what do you want the Empire to offers, the exact numbers?” The Sith Lord asked. Darth Ravage wants to know exactly what the Perseid Federation is looking for in terms of ships, troops, etc. While, he is still concern about the other nations, the opportunity that the Perseids offered is something that would be quite beneficial to the Empire.

Darth Ravage seemed to be amused — at least, that's what Procopios' Metaverse eye deduced. However, the Perseid didn't believe that he would be asked by Ravage on whatever was in the Dark Lord's mind. Then again, it was not his time to think about such things. The Sith then gave his word that the Infinite Empire will accept the refugees on an important condition — that the Betricans inform everything they know about their attackers. "Excellent," Procopios smiled. "I hope that our governments may coordinate their efforts in providing a place of refuge for them. I assure you that the Infinite Empire will not be requested by the Perseid Federation to shoulder much of the burden." His first objective was complete.

For minutes, Darth Ravage and Procopios had been discussing about things such as security and maintenance of the Sivulon Trade Network. The Sith asked some of the questions and pointed out certain issues, and Procopios answered accordingly. After the Perseid reassured the Sith Lord that their presence in the Sivulon Trade Network will surely contribute more to the stability, security and peace along the trade lanes more than increase the anxiety of democratic star-states, Darth Ravage nodded at his words. "If we accept," he replied frankly, "what do you want the Empire to offer, the exact numbers?"

Procopios smiled at Darth Ravage's question — partly because it was amusing and partly because it was valid. After all, they would want to know how many the Perseids would want. "We wouldn't want to request of the Imperial government to offer more than they are willing to give. In line with this, the Omospondia asks the Infinite Empire to only offer enough ships and troops to adequately defend trade lanes within proximity to the Infinite Empire's dominions and colonies."

To the Perseids, this was sound logic. If the beneficiaries of the Sivulon Trade Network work to protect their territorial space and their economic zones from space pirates and terrorists, as well as develop them the way they see fit, then the Perseids wouldn't have to spend so many Tacits to maintain the trade lanes. A large burden will be lifted off the Perseid government's shoulders, and they may be able to focus more of their efforts on other ventures such as the development its colonies and the expansion and diversification of all kinds of business instead of protecting every single light year of the interstellar passages.

"But," he put down the tea cup on the saucer, "defending the interstellar trade lanes near your territorial space with your ships and your troops is not what I am asking of you, your Excellency. It is only a part of what the Omospondia asks of the Infinite Empire." He may have realized that he may have forgot to say something earlier about this request, but he still maintained his calm composure. No matter, he will rectify it with his next statement. The emissary was finished beating around the bush.

"Darth Ravage," he got straight to the heart of the matter, "the Perseid Federation wishes to reopen the Nemean Route and restore trade partnerships and other commercial activities between the Omospondia and the Empire on the condition that the Infinite Empire will maintain peace and security along the routes near its territories, as well as maintain and develop those routes so greater prosperity may come of it. That is what I ask on behalf of the Perseid government. Of course, much of the logistical burden of maintaining the Network still falls on us, but that only will apply to freespace. The nations that are or have been benefiting from the Sivulon Trade Network — including the Infinite Empire — will be the ones responsible for the development, maintenance and security of the routes within their respective economic zones. I believe that is a sound and reasonable request, no?"

And why wouldn't it be? The users of the Sivulon Trade Network may be actually doing something to maintain and develop the trade lanes near their territorial space so they can get more money. It may be the beginning of an economic boom not just for the Infinite Empire, but also for the rest of the Network and perhaps even the Quadrant — and this historic meeting with the Nemeans may be the first step, should they choose to accept. But, the chances of that happening may be slim in the minds of many Perseid economists and politicians — and yet as a diplomat Procopios is basically willing to take that chance.

Darth Ravage blinked at Emissary Dimakakos as his mind processed the request that the Perseid Federation asked. His mind, enhanced like every Sith due to their psionic powers, easily saw the economic and military advantages of it. He would admit that he was distrustful of the emissary's arrival and he had almost convinced the Dark Council to deny their request for diplomatic contact. Yet, the Council was stopped by the one person that has the authority to.

Darth Ravage leaned back against his chair with a chuckle, his eyes gaze upward as he mused aloud, "So, that why He did it." The Sith Emperor did stop the Dark Council and commanded them to accept the Perseid emissary. When questioned, the Emperor only said 'you'll see.' He did doubt the Emperor when he said that, the Sith Lord could not conceive that the Federation had anything to offer the Empire. Yet, they did, they offer something that would cause an economic boom, to flex their military's muscles, and perhaps even get the other interstellar nations to become more accepting of the Empire's presence.

"The Nemean Route could be reopen and immediately secure by several Imperial fleets in a year." Darth Ravage contemplate aloud, however, he is not going to mention that due to the Empire's massive military industry that in a year they can create around a dozen new fleets. He knows that the Dark Council could use the reopening of the Sivulon Trade Network as well as their duty to the maintenance, development and peacekeeping operations of the Nemean Trade Route to expand their military. While the Empire doesn't need to inform their people why the military is getting an expansion, they do know that their galactic neighbors would get 'concern' over Imperial military activities and could cause problems.

"You surprise me Emissary Dimakakos. In a way the Infinite Empire has been somewhat isolated from the wider galaxy as we have not allowed any nations to have an embassy or any kind of influence in our territory." Darth Ravage explained. "Not many civilizations is willing to meet the Empire and definitely not for something as this. You would be surprise at the dislike the Sith have for other nations, the Imperials is somewhat indifferent, but the Sith, my people, well..." He chuckled as he leans forward in his seat, his golden eyes staring straight into the emissary's.

"What you are requesting is the largest project the Empire has ever created in centuries, economic boon aside," Darth Ravage said. "The Dark Council barely like working alongside with other nations and while technically I have the authority to accept the offer, this is too important for me to accept without the Council's approval. For now, we will shelve it until after I meet with the Council, by the time that you are finished with your visit, you will have your answer."

Darth Ravage knows that the emissary's visit shall last several days because he will meet with the Sith Emperor, other important officials, and visit significant locations. He could say that the meeting with the Council shouldn't last that long, but that would be a lie and the Sith does not lie. As he said before, the Sith does not like a lot of the star-states they have met, therefore, trying to convince the Council would be difficult, but it is something he must do. The Sith Lord's eyes glance toward the cloak before he noticed that they had spent up their time. He turned his eyes back to Procopios.

"You will be meeting the Sith Emperor next," the Sith Lord ignored the shock that he felt from the translator because it isn't known outside the Council the Emperor would be meeting with the Perseid emissary, "it is an opportunity that not many have been given, not even I or the Council meets with His Majesty often. You will be speaking with the person that founded and led the Empire for the past five thousand years. I hope you understand how important He is because the Emperor is the Empire."

Bingo. It looks like the Sith Lord may have been surprised by the Perseid's request — in a good way. He leaned back against his chair with his eyes gazing upward, chuckling under his breath, "So that's why he did it." Because he said that loud enough for Procopios to perceive, the emissary's Metaverse eye began to analyze his gestures and his current emotional state, which came back as something positive but doubtful. The Perseid watched as the Sith Lord contemplated on the Nemean Route — his ears overheard that the Route could be reopened and secured by the Infinite Empire within the space of a year. Procopios wasn't sure what Ravage meant by that, nor did he know what was in the Sith Lord's mind.

"You surprise me Emissary Dimakakos," Darth Ravage mused with with a slight smile on his face. He then explained to Procopios how the Infinite Empire in its own way was isolated from the rest of the galaxy because of their unwillingness to allow foreign embassies or influence in their realms. On the other side, civilizations usually wouldn't want to communicate with the Empire, especially not for something like a trade agreement that is sure to set them on a path to an economic boom.

Procopios quipped, "I guess the Infinite Empire and the Perseid Federation are somewhat like kindred spirits in that respect." Even though the Empire and the Omospondia were both once in isolation, the circumstances that led to those events were different. He may have neglected to take that to mind or just deliberately didn't, but whatever the case it was a serious logical mistake.

Darth Ravage fixed his eyes on the emissary's and told him that this may be the largest undertaking the Infinite Empire may have in centuries. He wouldn't leave this matter to himself alone — something of that importance may have to be deliberated on by the Dark Council, and their decision will be revealed in time to Procopios — the reason being that the Council isn't the biggest fan of working with other nations in multinational interstellar efforts, be it economic, military or speciotarian. The Perseid nodded to that thought as well. "So be it." After all, he's going to be around here for several days.

The Sith Lord continued, "You will be meeting the Sith Emperor next." The translator's eyes opened in shock — since Procopios was told he would be meeting with His Majesty. Darth Ravage seemed to ignore the translator as he continued, "It is an opportunity that not many have been given — not even I or the Council meets with His Majesty often. You will be speaking with the person that founded and led the Empire for the past five thousand years, who had created the Infinite Sith Order six thousand years ago. I hope you understand how important He is because the Emperor is the Empire." [sic]

"I believe I understand it well," Procopios smiled. "I was told once by the Archon of Xenia, Aristides Rhigas, that the 'head of the state is representative of the state's policies and decisions — therefore he is equated with the state itself.' I believe His Majesty would be considerate enough to welcome me in his presence, so I thank him for that." He stood up with the translator and began to convey parting words before he is to meet the Sith Emperor. "Thank you very much for the warm welcome, despite the sudden arrival," he once again gave an Imperial/Sith gesture of respect.

Procopios and the translator exited his office and returned to the antechamber — the translator closing the door behind him. The first step of his diplomatic mission to the Infinite Empire was complete. "I believe that went well, don't you think so?" the translator asked.

"Yes," the Perseid concurred. As the two exited the doors and went back into the colonnade, he asked, "Tell me, why were you astonished back there when he said that I will be meeting with the Sith Emperor?"

"Sir," he whispered, "only a few sophonts — both inside and outside of the Empire — have been granted a personal audience with His Majesty. It is understood that if one will meet with the Sith Emperor, the matter that His Majesty will discuss with him is of great importance, such as what you have proposed to Darth Ravage earlier. Matters like these I believe wouldn't just involve the Dark Council."

"Well, I suppose so."

The Citadel of Bastion, a vast infrastructure of buildings that is all connected to each other in one way or another. As the center of government, Sith Lords and Imperial officials walked those halls in the thousands as they marched to one place to another as they do their duty in working the massive machine that is the Infinite Sith Empire.

The Citadel is not only the center of government, but the home of the Sith Emperor of the Infinite Empire, an immortal entity that have ruled over Imperial society for more than five thousand years. The eternal individual is referred only as the Sith Emperor as his true name, be it Sith or otherwise have been lost, if not hidden, throughout history.

As the Perseid emissary and the Imperial translator left the main offices of the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy, they would have headed to the main hall of the Citadel. They would have walked passed massive numbers of Imperials and Sith who worked in the vast estate and at every corner is the red armor of the Imperial Guard. The Imperial Guard is not only the protectors of the Emperor, but they also stand vigilant over the Citadel of Bastion and the Sith Academy of Hellac. Watchful and alert, the Imperial Guard is the constant presence that reminds people that the Emperor is always watching.

Once they entered the main hall, there stood a stone representative of the Sith Emperor, lean yet strong armor is crafted on the statue’s body, as those emotionless eyes gaze into any that walk through the main hall's entrance. Inscribed below the statue is simple words that is one of the defining principles of the Empire; 'Peace Through Power.'

The Perseid emissary was sent glances from the Sith Lords and Imperials as he and the translator passed several hallways in a straight line toward the royal section. However, in each new room they passed, in the center is one of the first Sith Lords, the original Dark Council that is immortalize through statue representation and is inscribed with a statement that they have made in the past and served as one of the primary principles of the Infinite Empire: 'Know When to Yield,' 'Time Is An Enemy You Cannot Face, But It Is A Weapon That You Can Use,' 'The Empire's Goals Is Above Everyone Else,' 'We Rule Because We Are Powerful And We Are Powerful Because We Are Sith,' 'There Is Only One God And That Is The Emperor,' 'The Empire Was Born From A United Cause And We Are That Cause, 'The Empire Is An Idea And You Cannot Kill An Idea, But It Can Certainly Kill You,' 'The Empire Is War Manifest,' 'True Peace Is The Empire,' 'Kneel Before No One Except The Emperor,' 'Die Only For The Empire.'

As they reached the twelfth hallway where the final statue of the original Infinite Sith stood, there behind the statue laid a larger-than-average door. However, this door is guarded by a line of Imperial Guardsmen that ensures that no one enter through the door and have access into the Sith Sanctum, the section of the Citadel that serves as the home of the Sith Emperor.

As the translator and emissary walked to the door there was tension in the air as every Imperial and Sith that was in the room stopped and watch as the two individuals walked to the entrance to the Sanctum. The Imperial Guard was silent in their sentry and impassive in their armored stance. As the Perseid and Imperial got closer, two of the Guardsmen exited from the line of guards and opened the set of doors that revealed rows of Guardsmen that stand vigilant against the wall. As they entered the hallway, the door closed behind them and they would have proceeded to walk down the hall. Even after they left the Sanctum’s main entrance, there was still a heavy presence of the Imperial Guard at every corner, their dedication to the protection of the eternal ruler obvious.

At the end of the entrance, there is hallways going right and left, but in the front are large doors that led the entrance to the throne room. Yet, in front of the door, other than the guards, was a Sith Lord. The Sith was in a black armored outfit with smooth flowing dark cape behind him, a lightsaber was attached to his waist, and bright golden eyes was focused on the two individuals. The Perseid emissary and the Imperial translator would have stopped in front of the human Sith, the translator would have been tensed as he recognized the Sith Lord and to empaths would have sense the heavy presence of feared respect on him.

"Procopios Dimakakos, I have not seen your people in quite some time." The Sith Lord stated in Perse, the Federation's national language. He then placed his right fist across his chest and flat against his left pec as he did the Imperial gesture of respect, a gesture that both Sith and Imperials do. It would have been a surprise from individuals outside the Empire that doesn't have much information on Imperial society at hearing such a statement as the only one that is known to be immortal is the Sith Emperor, but it is false because there is more.

"I apologies, I have forgotten to introduce myself," The Sith said with grin on his lips yet his golden eyes remained sharped, "Darth Nox at your service. I serves the Emperor as his Wrath." The Emperor's Wrath is perhaps the most powerful position outside the seat of the Emperor and the defunct positions of the Emperor's heirs. Not even the Dark Council can rival the Wrath's authority as while they can advise, they cannot presume to order the only individual that takes their orders directly from the Emperor. What make the Wrath a unique position is the absolute immunity that it holds, the Emperor's Wrath can execute the entire Dark Council if he truly wished to and do whatever he want as there is no laws that bounds him. The Wrath is the eternal ruler's executioner and enforcer, and the physical representative of his will. Darth Nox is special as he has been gifted with immortality in similarity to the Sith Emperor like the past two Wraths. Darth Nox has been the Wrath for close to a thousand years and has created a bloody reputation like past Wraths in enacting the Emperor's will.

"I wanted to meet you, Emissary Dimakakos, after all, it isn't everyday that a person was granted a private audience with His Majesty." Darth Nox mentioned as he folded his hands behind his back. "I hope you appreciate the opportunity, not just with meeting the Emperor, but to advertise it. By the time you have reached me, the knowledge that you are meeting His Majesty should have been spread across the Citadel. I hope you understand why the Emperor did so." When the Sith and Imperials learned that the emissary have an audience with the Sith Emperor, this will bring positive attention to the Perseid Federation as they would think that there is something special about the Federation to make the Emperor meet a representative of them. It would lessen the hostility toward the Perseid society and make the Empire more agreeable to the idea of working with the Federation and eventually other star-states.

"I would say good luck, but..." The Emperor's Wrath chuckled, "well, I'll give you this as advice, the Emperor has lived too long to deal with politicking. Just talk clearly and directly, His Majesty has always enjoyed a person that is blunt in their manner of speaking. ‘It saves time', as he would say." With those final words, Darth Nox left their presence as he walked to the hallway to the left. It wasn't long until the doors to the throne room opened up and the Perseid and Imperial entered the room.

Flags of the Empire was flowing against the ceiling with a long rug with the Sith heraldry stretched across to the throne at the end of the hall. On the wall was several paintings that showed the history of the Empire. In the end of the room laid a throne that was on top of a lifted platform, the throne was simple looking except for a red crystal at the top of the headrest. Seated in the throne was a human male, if one was from Terra, they can said that he was an brown-skinned individual, if you ignored the bright golden eyes that designated him as Sith. He was in a simple black outfit, it was not as extravagant as one would expect from the ruler of a vast interstellar nation. There was no crown on his head as he never cared for them or any other objects that showed his status yet his very presence demanded respect and showed absolute authority.

The Sith Emperor looked to be in his mid-twenties yet in fact is thousands of years old. As the Perseid emissary and Imperial translator walked closer, the Imperial man was full of shocked awed, the Emperor stood up. The eternal ruler wasn't an emotionless being and while you cannot see any emotions in his eyes, there was a slight smile on his lips that reveals warmness.

"Welcome," the Sith Emperor said simple in Perse.

En route to the Sith Sanctum, Citadel of Bastion
Nemean Abyss, Alpha Quadrant — circa 1366 XS

From the confines of the Citadel, the view of the metropolis was breathtaking. The skyline of the Imperial capital stood in the distance as the Perseid and his linguistic aide strolled through the colonnade. To imagine that such a massive magnificent complex that housed the spheres of the Infinite Empire's government was built on this hill — it was indeed the perfect spot where the Sith can look out at the world. Procopios marveled as the sun coruscated on the reflective exterior of skyscrapers, with the glare of the sun touching and concealing some of the spires. The sun even made its presence known by shining through the gaps between the columns, and the shadows seemed to flee the other way in fear of the dazzling light and imitate the columns' forms. All around them was the scene of bureaucracy at work, with Siths and Imperials walking to and fro around Procopios and his few escorts. They were at work to manage the inner workings of the Empire. Like before, one or two of them would occasionally look over their shoulders and see the foreigner pass them by. Men clad in red armor stood beside every door and hallway, watching the sophonts in black garb. One of them seemed to have his eyes fixed on Procopios and the translator. The guards that accompanied the diplomat wore the same crimson uniforms.

The two arrived at the main atrium of the Citadel, which was spacious and massive. It had an extremely high ceiling that allowed natural light to illuminate the concourse. The walls appear to be painted in colorful fresco, and the floor was polished so thoroughly that the Perseid was able to see his own reflection. He may have noticed that there were water droplets floating high above their heads — as if they were clouds of some sort. This place seemed to have its own weather, conjured up by carbon dioxide and other respiratory gases that were exhaled. A beautiful statue of the Sith Emperor stood in the middle of the atrium — his figure immortalized in delicately carved stone. A ray of light shone on the image like a spotlight. On the pedestal of the sculpture were inscribed the Nemean words Peace Through Power, which is most likely a prominent maxim in the Empire. Looking at the inscription, he read it loud enough for the translator to hear.

Naturally, the translator thought that Procopios didn't know what that means — even though the Perseid had some comprehension of the Imperial vernacular. He leaned in and responded, "That means 'peace through power' in our language, Emissary." Procopios said nothing to him and nodded — it would be better for him to not hurt the translator's feelings even just a tiny bit.

As the group passed by the statue and entered the corridors that would lead to the royal section of the complex, more Siths and Imperials turned their heads to look at the Perseid. Along the hallway were smaller corridors that each led to a small chamber housing a statue of one of the Sith Lords that constituted the original Dark Council. Passing by each of the hallways one by one, the translator identified the sophonts who were memorialized in stone. Each of the statues had a certain phrase etched onto its pedestal — most likely more maxims and iconic phrases. It appeared to Procopios that the Infinite Empire already had the characters needed to create a pantheon of sorts. One of them may have caught Procopios' attention — the one that had the Nemean words True Peace is the Empire inscribed on its base.

He and the translator reached a twelfth (perhaps thirteenth) hallway where the last of the statues was place, and behind it was a large door. Two lines of guardsmen flanked the portals, protecting whatever lay behind those wooden doors. Procopios was both impressed and amused at the same time — if the Emperor is indeed immortal, why does he still employ guards to protect him? Do mortal weapons injure the Sith Emperor, and if so can it be fatal? Then again, he's basically the sovereign of the place for five thousand years and that alone doesn't guarantee that he's going to live for eternity. He guessed that may be something else for another time. As the diplomatic envoy and his escorts of crimson approached, two of the guards exited from their ranks and opened the double doors inward. Behind those doors was another wide corridor with more Imperial guards with their backs on the wall. Procopios and his aide entered the antechamber, and the doors closed behind them.

At the other side of the corridor were two large doors that were perhaps the portals to the throne room. Standing in front of the door was a human with a jet black suit of armor and a flowing dark cape that appeared to be weaved with silk threads. A weapon was attached to is waist — which is most likely a kind of sword utilizing superheated plasma for its blade — indicating that he is not one to fidget with. His flaxen eyes rested on Procopios as he approached the Sith Lord with his translator in tow. The translator appeared to tense up at the sight of the Sith. The Imperials around Procopios placed their right fists on the left side of their chests as a gesture of salutations and respect. "Procopios Dimakakos," the Sith began in Perse, "the emissary of the Perseid Federation, I have not seen your people in quite some time."

The Perseids were mostly members of a subspecies of humanity (homo sapiens sivulis) that descended from the ancient Solarians that once dominated Sol and her environs. Their branch was one of the most discernible in the Alpha Quadrant. The natural pigments of their hair covered a greater range of colors than other humans — Procopios himself had cerulean hair with streaks of azure. In the dark, light patterns can be discerned on their skin, and the patterns on their clothing often imitated them. Perseid humans also seem to be slightly taller than their interstellar cousins, standing around a foot taller than the average human — give or take a couple of inches. This was a natural consequence to traveling in outer space frequently, and one could gain one or two inches of height after days or months of voyaging.

On the other side of the coin, the Sith of the Infinite Empire were renowned for their longevity. It was thought that they have attained near-immortality by the graces of the Sith Emperor and through mastery over the metaphysical energy that they call "the Force," and that a chosen few were granted complete immortality, but many Perseids dismiss those claims as hearsay. Even if Perseid humans manage to find a way to live for a thousand years, scientists had stated numerous times, they would still be outlived by the Sith.

The Sith also placed his right fist on the left side of his chest, close to where his heart was. Procopios, being acquainted with some Imperial culture, returned the Imperial gesture of respect. "Indeed, it has been too long," the Perseid smiled.

"I apologize, I have forgot to introduce myself," the Sith grinned. "Darth Nox at your service. I serve the Emperor as his Wrath."

Thēmos? The Emperor's Wrath? Darth Nox's Perse seemed to be faulty to Procopios — so much so that the diplomat was confused by it. Was Nox the instrument of the Emperor's frustrations whenever it was malapropos for his sovereign to lose his temper? If so, how long has he held that position? The translator may have noticed the uncomfortable expression on Procopios' face. He whispered to him softly that Darth Nox was the Emperor's chief magistrate — which was akin to a prime minister in certain interstellar polities — having held that esteemed position as second-in-command of the Infinite Empire for the past millennium.

The Sith expressed that he wanted to meet the Perseid emissary — the one who will be speaking with the Sith Emperor in person this day. He also told Procopios that news of this historic meeting was already spread through the entirety of the Citadel. "I would say good luck," he chuckled. "But… Well, I'll give you this as advice. The Emperor has lived too long to deal with politicking. Just talk clearly and directly — His Majesty [has] always enjoyed a person that is blunt in their manner of speaking. ‘It saves time', as he would say."

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind," the Perseid smiled. That was when Darth Nox left their presence and departed for the hallway to their left. Two of the guards opened the doors and revealed the throne room to Procopios. His bodyguards stood with their scarlet-colored comrades and stood watch, while Procopios and the translator continued. This was it.

The throne room was indeed magnificent — a resplendent and august display of majesty was evident in this hall. Banners draped from the ceiling, and a long rug stretched from the elevated throne up to the door. Both of them were embroidered with the emblem of the Sith — a decorative crimson hexagon with an industrial motif. The pillars were frescoed with the portrayal of important historical events in the Infinite Empire's history. The throne was surprisingly minimalist, with a large red crystal on top of the headrest. The translator could hardly believe it — he was here. Yet what was most interesting of all was the man sitting on that ceremonial chair — the Sith Emperor himself.

The Sith Emperor appeared to be an Aethiops, a dark-skinned human in the Perse language. The features of an Aethiops were prominent on the sovereign of the Empire, such as thick lips, ebony skin, and short and curly hair. The Perseid could hardly believe the Emperor resembled a young adult — this seemed to validate that his Majesty had the blessing of immortality. Like the other Sith that Procopios came across so far, he had golden eyes that glowed in the dark. He appeared to wear a jet black robe that was simple in design — like that of a Theognostic priest's robe — and lacked a crown on his head, instead making use of a hood. The translator must have been in awe, for being in the Sith Emperor's presence was no common occasion. He watched as the potentate of the Sith Order and of the Infinite Empire rose from his chair. "Welcome," the Sith Emperor addressed in Perse.

Procopios placed his right fist on his chest and bowed his head in respect for him. His translator did the same as well. "Your Majesty," the Perseid emissary spoke calmly. Once the Emperor allowed him to straighten up he continued in Perse, "Thank you for granting me a personal audience with your Majesty."

Time is a fundamental concept of the universe that is as neutral as death. However, where one could bend time to their will, in the end, they can only stall death. The Sith Emperor is one of the individuals in the vast galaxy that is able to stall death to such an extent that he has been thought to be immortal. Such existence is not only the truth, but also a lie; there is no one that is absolutely immortal because death will come to everyone and all that one can do is halt it as long as they can until the inevitable end.

The Emperor is immortal in the way that he had prevented time from touching him which had ensured his longevity. However, he had done other rituals and such to ensure that something as simple as a shot to the head will not end his life. While, he can still die if one found the correct method, those methods are far and in-between. One might think that might mean that finding the exact way to kill the Emperor would be impossible and they would be correct, but a truly determined person can accomplished a lot and the Sith Emperor have ensured that he have protections in the case of such a determined person would be after him.

The founder of the Infinite Sith have lived for more than five thousand years and throughout that time, he have discovered many secrets of the Force. The Force is one of the many of the metaphysical energies that make up the universe and one that the Sith can manipulate. It is an energy that is created by every living thing, regardless if they are a sentient species or a simple plant, the Force is produce by it and connect every living thing together. It is was through his deep study of the Force that allowed him to create his form of immortality.

The Emperor is intimately aware of every living thing in the solar system, he knows where they are and if he wanted to, he would know what they feel. It is through this connection and using an aspect of his power that allowed him to observe the meeting between the Perseid emissary and Darth Ravage. While most Sith Lords are able to detect when they are being observed and take the steps to hide themselves from view, there have yet to be a person that is able to detect when the Sith Emperor is watching or even be able to shield themselves from his gaze. And watched he did, but he was not surprise by the outcome of the meeting or the topic of it.

Peering through time and observing dozens of different futures of the reason and outcome of that meeting have allowed him to be well-informed of the reason that the Perseid Federation contacted the Empire. Even if there were a few differences, the Emperor was aware of the eventual outcome. While some might think that the future is set in stone, but that would be in fact incorrect. The future is always changing, creating and collapsing new timelines due to the actions of everyone and anyone. When the Sith overlord peer through time, he does not see one future, but dozens, sometime hundreds of them.

The Sith Master gazed calmly at the emissary that stand in front of him. He felt the awe and respect from the Imperial translator. He could have denied the Imperial man entry into his sanctum as his service was useless toward an individual who is quite proficient in Perse, the Perseid Federation's language, that only his Imperial accent and his appearance informed people that he is in fact not Perseid. However, he is not so cruel to do so and have allowed his presence here.

"Your arrival brings something that will change my Empire. If it is good or bad is up-to-debate and who is it good or bad for even more so. Nevertheless, this is something that require my direct attention, emissary." His tone was blunt yet there was not even a silver of emotion in it. A passive mask that reflect nothing, but the calm that thousands of years of experience have ensured nothing can pierce.

He walked closer to the Perseid emissary and the Imperial translator that was at his side. The Emperor cocked his head at them as if he is listening to another conversation before with a gesture of his hand that commanded them to follow him. He walked to a pillar to the right that was the closest to the throne. On the pillar was visuals of the Sith Invasion, where after centuries of build-up, the Infinite Sith launched their assault on Zaras' nations and conquered them all in blood and fire.

"Did you know that at the heart, the Infinite Empire is very imperialistic, despite that it conquests have stopped after the absorption of the Nemean Abyss? It is a militaristic society for a reason, a community that is always ready for war and can be on a war-footing for centuries without hurting the economy or even the way of life. I have done much in tempering the urges of my Empire to expand and conquer, and the opportunity you have given us would allow those urges to be used in a more productive way." The gleam of his golden eyes revealed nothing as it gaze removed itself from the pillar to look at Procopios.

"My fleets are vast and my legions are unending." A humorless smile formed on his lips. "We have the potential to be a threat for this region of the galaxy, to push it into a war of devastation that will leave worlds barren of life. Yet, you are allowing, hoping in fact, for the assistance of my Empire in the protection and maintenance of the Nemean Route of the Sivulon Trade Network. And, whose knows how far our two nations' relationship might go due to such assistance. I'm curious on why did you decided to go to my Empire, after all, not many would?" He asked.

"Aye," Procopios concurred with the Sith Emperor's words. "That is what our ancestors have believed." This meeting between the Perseid and the Infinite Empire's sovereign was no first contact. The first time that the sophonts of the Sivulon Reach encountered the Nemeans was nearly 600 years ago. Back in those days, the Perseid Federation was beginning to consolidate and expand the Sivulon Trade Network — which didn't break out of the Reach yet. Many were skeptic about the Omospondia's then-daunting endeavor, as this future commercial web would cover the thousands of light years that it now covered today. More than that, they questioned the benefits that may be gained by sending trade expeditions to unknown sectors of the galaxy in the hope of finding other interstellar states and by extension new markets for Perseid products — or even entertained the possibility of hostile encounters with imperialistic powers. Yet despite the opposition to plans of connecting the Alpha Quadrant with interstellar lanes, the Perseid government decisively pressed on with their ambitious scheme.

A fleet of Perseid merchant vessels, each vessel carrying thousands of tons of cargo, arrived in what was now the Nemean Abyss and found a large civilization composed of many worlds. For the Perseid tradesmen, this meant that they would have access to a prospective market. They arrived to the scrambling of a few Imperial star destroyers and their starfighters, since a few unidentified flying objects trespassed into their sovereign space — fortunately the Sith government was considerate enough to allow the merchants with dialogue, which was something unorthodox. The Perseids were granted access to the Infinite Empire's market in exchange for Imperial products to be exported to the Perseid Federation. This was the beginning of a close trade relationship between two seemingly opposing ends of the political-ideological spectrum.

Now Procopios was in a similar situation in this present day and age, should one replace the initial hostility with a more accepting ambience in the air. The Sith Emperor cocked his head at the Perseid diplomat and his translator, directing both of their attention on a certain pillar nearest to the throne. On the pillar was a detailed mosaic of a major event in the Infinite Empire's history — the conquest of this world depicted in the same manner as Perseid artisans would depict the Perseid Civil War. Blood flowed out like streams and turned the rivers into the ochre of the life force of man, and the cities were engulfed and consumed with conflagration from ships that bombarded men, women and children with superheated plasma. Mothers could be seen weeping for the death of their children, and fathers cursing the heavens because they were suffering. Such was the horror of war.

Knowledge of the Sith Empire's expansionist ambitions was once common to the Perseid people, but as time marched on and the Perseids withdrew from the galactic stage, this knowledge grew dimmer and dimmer. To many moralists, especially those who have imagined idealistic utopias, it was unfortunate the Perseids never remembered. For those who wish to foster renewed relations with the Nemeans, especially those in government who wish to step back onto the galactic arena, it is more of an opportunity — an opportunity to rectify any negative perceptions, an opportunity to export Perseid products and commodities to the Infinite Empire, and an opportunity to enlist the Imperials as vital allies.

The Sith Emperor plainly told him that despite having stopped expanding in recent centuries, at its heart the Infinite Empire is an imperialistic power. "It is a militaristic society for a reason," he explained, "a community that is always ready for war and be on a war-footing for centuries without hurting the economy or even the way of life." He further told the Perseid that this latest endeavor would redirect the energies of the Empire to more productive means, which was good news for Procopios. But, there was still a tone of doubt in the Sith's words. "I'm curious on why did you decided to go to my Empire?" he asked the Perseid. "After all, not many would."

"It is for that reason, that others do not wish to go to you, that we have gone to you," Procopios replied. "We have reached out to many of our former acquaintances and interstellar polities within the Sivulon Trade Network, yet few have responded to us. Should this meeting flow smoothly and a deal is made between the Omospondia and the Infinite Empire — both on economic agreements and on protection and maintenance — then we could possibly see the trade lanes breathe new life, and more nations resume commercial activity within these trade lanes."

The Sith Emperor's lips twitched in the aborted effort to turn into a smirk. "You wish to use my Empire to support the revival of the Sivulon Trade Network? Good, if you would had gave me a 'selfless' reason, I would have been skeptical." In the eyes of the Emperor, the Sith, and the Empire, there is no such thing as a selfless reason or act. At its core, everything is selfish and the Empire makes no effort to hide their self-serving goals. To them, every action that they take is for the Empire and the Infinite Sith, there is no in-between.

The Dark Lord of the Sith returned his gaze back toward the painting. He remembered the conquest of Zaras, at the time he was not the Sith Emperor, but simply the Dark Lord whose name was well-known among the Infinite Order and used as a rallying call. The Sith invaders came to this world that was settled by pre-spacefaring human subspecies and they conquered it with blood and fire. The death of millions, the destruction of cities, and execution of any that goes against the Sith. The Empire’s history is wrought with death and destruction for every time the Infinite Empire expands, it do so over the graves of others.

He removed his gaze from the picture and lead led the emissary and translator toward another. They stood in front of a simple picture that showed a twenty-kilometer long station in this solar system. In the background was the void of space that highlights the magnificence of the military headquarters referred to as the Crucible. It had served not only as a headquarters, but also a shipyard, one of the biggest in Imperial space.

He turned his yellow eyes toward Procopios, his visual of calmness never cracking as he asked, "Are the Federation ready for the return of the terrors of the void? The pirates, the slavers, and other groups that are willing to feast on the bounties that the trade network will create. Are your defenses ready for your return to the galactic community?"

In the more fringe systems, piracy is quite common yet Imperial taskforces is also quite adept in destroying them. Piracy and slavery and such aren’t common in Sith space as one would think. The martial society that the Infinite Sith Empire is known for had ensured that it territory is secured against such threats. The Emperor knows that with the reactivation of the Nemean Trade Route, it will be used as a hunting ground for such threats and he is pleased that with the request to secured the route’s security will ensured that the Imperial Star Navy is allow to patrol that route. Possibly would make it one of the most secured trade route in the Sivulon Trade Network.

"Selfless or not," he mused, "our nation's ambitions are never to be underestimated. If we Perseids declare to the galaxy that the Sivulon Trade Network shall be made new, and that nations shall once more roam the stars in security under the aegis of the Omospondia and her allies, then we will do everything in our power to do just that—even if our ambitions need be realized through less than respectable means. The cosmos may look on in horror as our nations enter a historic partnership, but this is necessary should they want Credits to keep flowing back and forth through their systems. Democracies and dictatorships are no difference to us, o Emperor. They are all just potential markets and trading partners that benefit from the interstellar lanes."

Procopios and the translator were led to a certain painting that depicted some kind of massive space station. He was curious at the painting—was the station in the painting real or just an artwork of science fiction that the Sith Emperor himself got his hands on? No matter how he got it, it was still impressive. As he was gazing at the painting, the Emperor asked him, "Are the Federation ready for the return of the terrors of the void? The pirates, the slavers, and other groups that are willing to feast on the bounties that the trade network will create. Are your defenses ready for your return to the galactic community?"

In spite of the assurance Procopios gave that the revival of the trade lanes shall not be hampered, the Sith Emperor remained skeptical. It wasn't that he was cautious about trying to restore a centuries-old commercial web—in fact the sovereign practically said "yes" to the Perseid's request in a reckless manner, more or less. More likely it was because the Emperor certainly knew more about what was going on in the skies above than Procopios ever did. Guess that was part of the perks of living for more than five millennia. But, the Emperor still needed an answer—a word of assurance from him.

The Perseid smirked. "You need not doubt the Federation. It is poised to return to the galactic stage, and no marauders shall be allowed to interfere with its economic and political renaissance." Glancing at the painting again he asked, "May I ask a question regarding that painting—is that space station fictional or real?"

A chuckle escaped the Sith Emperor's lips at the Perseid emissary's reply. He is pleasantly surprise at the practical view that the Federation is taking. He does not meet a lot of nations that is more practical with accomplishing their goals and he completely agreed with Procopios's statement. After all, whose care about the type of nation they are dealing with as long as they have an economy to benefit the interstellar trade routes? The Empire have dozens of trade lanes that flown through their territory, most of which come from democracies that do not like the authoritarian nature of the Sith. However, they are quite willing to 'put up' with the Sith's governance for the economic gains that the Empire supplied.

Oh yes, the Force was correct that the Emperor should meet with the Perseid representative as it would give him an clearer view on the Federation that his Eye could not provide.

As they stand in front of the painting of the Crucible, a glint appeared in the Sith overlord's eye as the emissary's statement. His right hand twitched as the urge to conquer and destroy, fueled by the Dark Side of the Force, pool in his stomach before it was stomped out by the five thousand years of perfect control. "I'm pleased that the Federation would not allowed anyone and anything to stand in their way for their return." The smooth, precise tone that come from his lips revealed nothing of the small struggle that took place previously.

The Emperor removed his gaze from the painting and looked at the Perseid. "There are few things in the Infinite Empire that I have personally created the blueprints for. The Citadel is one," he sent a glance at the painting, "the Crucible is another. Your arrival wouldn't allowed you to see it as at this time I believe it is at the edge of the system. It move every few months, the station that serves as the headquarters of Imperial High Command. I believe it is one of the visits on your list."

With one last glance at the picture, he left the pillar and return back to his throne. He lean back into his chair as his impassive gaze never left Procopios. "I believe my questions is done, I trust my Dark Council to ensure their our nations's relationship would be beneficial...for both. But, now it is your turn, you are talking to the ruler of an empire that have led it for more then five thousand years. Perhaps, you have questions that I may answer."

So that must be the "Crucible" that the Sith Emperor had broached. Indeed, the Perseid plenipotentiary may have missed it on the way here—space is a big place after all. A headquarters for the Imperial military high command, huh? It was similar in function and purpose as Aplouména Station, the headquarters of the Perseid Organ of Defense and the wartime capital of the Omospondia. Procopios was now looking forward to visiting the station during his time here, but he may have to wait since his itinerary places the visit on another day. "Correct," he replied. "I wish that I could visit that station after this, but for this day it's for tarrying at Zaras. All good things in due time, I suppose."

Since the Sith Emperor's turn for asking questions was past, now it was time for Procopios to be the one asking. The Aethiops Emperor returned to his throne, please with the answers given by the Perseid diplomat. "Very well," he bowed again in front of the sovereign. "I have one or two in mind," quipped the emissary. He knew which questions to bring up first—ones that were meant to gauge if the Omospondia is going to benefit greatly from the diplomatic exchange between it and the Infinite Empire. What better question to raise than ones that were economic in nature?

He didn't want to come up with a question that might poke the Emperor in his nerves, that would be bad for him. He also didn't want to make a question that would be too easy to answer, as he was gauging how much the Perseids and the Nemeans would gain from this exchange. Hmmm, it may look like the Infinite Empire doesn't really need anything, it would most likely be best to ask him this.

Procopios finally had a question in mind for him. He began, "This restoration of trade partnerships between the Perseid Federation and the Infinite Sith Empire will indeed attract investors from both countries that want to invest in each other's economies. The Perseid Federation is looking for investors that will invest primarily in our shipbuilding, consumer electronics, and heavy industry sectors—and indeed we have been receiving many of them from foreign countries. In what sectors will the Infinite Sith Empire want our investors to invest in?"

He presumed that the Emperor would touch on his empire's industrial base, especially on metal refining and heavy industry. After all, Bastion appeared to be a gilded and metallic city, so it was probable that the other major cities of the Infinite Empire looked the same, more or less. Perhaps he might refer to his nation's mining industry, or its shipbuilding industry. Maybe he might propose sending Nemean capital to work at Perseid manufacturing centers in the Omospondia's distant colonies. Only the gods would know.

The Sith Emperor blinked slowly at the emissary's question as his mind slowly went over it. He know that there are foreign leaders that believe due to his semi-isolation and hands-off policy that he is uninformed of the happenings of his nation. That would be incorrect, while he may take a public stance that the Dark Council is the primarily governing body and that he trust them to rule his nation free from his direct control, the Emperor had never stopped ruling his empire. The Infinite Empire moved because he command it to, he have thousands of operatives that work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of his nation. While the Dark Council work tirelessly in running his nation, he does have an hand in everything they do and much more. Thus, while it would be a question more suited for the Lord of the Sphere of Production and Logistics, the Sith Emperor could answer such a question.

"The territory of the Empire stretched hundreds of light-years across a thousand star systems and due to the abundant of resources that the Nemean Abyss has, the Empire have a massive industrial base. Therefore, we would welcome investors in certain sectors in our heavy industries, particular our mining sector because we have a vast resource base due to our territory and we could easily help supplied needed resources to other nations." The Emperor informed. "While, the Empire wouldn't allowed investors in our more military-aligned sectors, civilian shipbuilding and other more civilian-aligned sectors is more than willing to accept foreign investors."

A glint appeared in the supreme master of the Sith's eyes, "You must understand that the Empire isn't looking for the economic benefits between our two nations, but the diplomatic ones. We are willing to accept investors because it could allowed closer relationship, we are willing to invest...much in your economy because it could produce more goodwill with your people."

It may sound simple because the Infinite Empire's membership in the GESO would mean his country have a lot of allies, but in all honestly, his people would rather spit on most of the GESO than help them. And the GESO would want to change the Empire to fit what they believe is right. Which is just unacceptable and that is why they are looking for an ally to create, to form a strong bond with because the Emperor know that sooner or later that the Infinite Empire would remove their membership in that interstellar organization. It is best that they have an alliance with another nation to ensure they aren't entirely defenseless. While they have an substantial military, it is always good to have that one ally that would help protect yourself. That is why he is so welcoming the Perseid delegate, despite their centuries of isolation, to actually allowed a foreign representative to meet him. Because the Sith Emperor is willing to take the Perseid's offer and to stretch it as far as he can until it form into what he desire. The Perseid Federation may be an member-state of the GESO, but hopefully their future bonds would trump their connections with the interstellar organization.

Procopios nodded, "Certainly that is understandable. After all, economics is often connected with diplomacy." It was a relief that the Sith Emperor was knowledgable about the happenings and challenges of his nation—to be otherwise ignorant of his people's concerns would be discomforting. Procopios continued, "I am sure that our investors will be happy to hear the news, especially when our nation is in a time of sustained economic growth, and by consequence it needs more natural resources in order to keep up with the expansion of our industrial base."

With economic progress came the demand for more natural resources, and the Omospondia's appetite for it was ballooning. At the rate the Perseid industrial base was being revitalized and expanded, companies were searching for minerals and certain metal ores for mining—some of which could be only found outside its systems. That meant looking to the Sivulon Trade Network and the interstellar polities straddling its lanes. Perhaps if this bilateral discourse becomes a great success, the Infinite Empire could be a major supplier of minerals for the Perseid Federation—not to mention that Axias would be flooding into Nemean mining corporations. Other benefits would include the importation of mass assembly technology from the Nemeans, which would help greatly in the revitalization of the shipbuilding and heavy industry sectors. Prosperity was on the horizon.

What aroused his interest was when the Sith brought up his desire for not just an ally, but the ally. The way that the sovereign worded it made it sound vague and open to all manner of interpretation. Yet with a little bit of intuition, Procopios knew what the Emperor meant. He could see it in his eyes, the desire for not only a formal alliance between the two countries, but for trust on a more individual level. It was in his tone. Maybe not necessarily between him and Procopios, but certainly between him and the Archons—something the latter might show resistance to, considering it would be out-of-character for them to have camaraderie with a totalitarian and despotic monarch.

The Emperor, commanding sovereign of his empire forged in blood and smoke within the span of thousands of years, needed the Perseids to have the Nemeans' back. The diplomat could see it in his eyes, yea, for if a nation were to survive in a galaxy saturated with menaces and adversaries, it should forge bonds with others in the same circumstance. It was about time that he took initiative and reached out first, lest the Omospondia be reached out to first. Such was the windfall of Perseid culture that filtered into diplomacy.

"Yes, the Galaxy can indeed make us feel vulnerable, and with good reason. On that note, in addition to free trade pacts, mutual investment, and miscellaneous economic partnerships, in behalf of my country I wish to propose and formalize an entente with the Infinite Empire. The Omospondia is not only seeking to revitalize economic pacts with interstellar polities around the Alpha Quadrant and the rest of the galaxy, but to restore and expand diplomatic pacts as well. I take it that you desire mutual defense and cooperation as well as to forge relationships that bear similitude to an entente, correct?"

The Sith Emperor simply smile, "You would be surprise how often our economics is disconnected with diplomacy." While the Infinite Empire have many trade treaties with dozens of nations and have established interstellar trade routes, there haven't been any nations that have been allow to establish a diplomatic mission in Imperial territory. Not even the Galactic Economic and Security Organization have a mission, and the Empire is a member-state of the galactic government. "Your people is in those growing pains since your Federation left your isolation. With new revenue, businesses, and obligations that your return to galactic society have created, you are expanding fast, economically, faster than you can keep up. It will take you sometime to expand your territory and even more so to catalog the resources in the new systems then to establish mining stations and such to gain the resources. Time wasted that could be better used elsewhere. My Empire is willing to support your growth with our abundance of natural resources and I have no doubt that our investment in your people will be well return."

Being the vast civilization it is, but most importantly, being a nation that is more military-aligned than most, it have a massive infrastructure. Due to the Infinite Sith Empire being more a military with a nation, they needed a massive industrial base to support the massive Imperial military and it is always why their heavy industries is more advance than some nations. To keep that constant edge over anyone that dare threaten their nation. It is also why the civilian technology, while advance, isn't too advance than most and why it is always the primarily trade items when dealing with other nations.

"A entente?" He repeated slowly. The Emperor then smile calmly as his yellow eyes gleamed, "The galaxy is a dangerous place and my Empire have...stood alone for a long time. Over the years of my existence, I have witnessed much horrors and destruction," a finger twitched because he have also been the cause for some of them, "I became a Sith for such a reason, crafted this Empire because it was the only body that I could conceived that would be strong to stand against the tide. But, as I learned over the years, being alone can only go so far. The establishment of a entente would allow such solitude to end and for both our countries to stand along side each other. Trade pacts, military alliance, economic relations, and more, but is your Federation, your Archons is willing to accept such a relationship with a nation that is drastically their opposite?"
