Vacif wrote:While the rest of his section were busying themselves with clearing out the occupied buildings, Captain Stacer, and Sergeant Holt made their way towards a hastily prepared command tent set up by the insurgents. An antenna was sticking out of the roof, and wires ran from the tent to the building. The sounds of the intense trench combat were far away now, instead, replaced by the staccatos of triple A fire on the top of the academy. Their primary target. Once that'd been eliminated, save for a few locations, the ISAF would have supreme air control.

ISAF-Usea wrote:The group that the Donns had detected was a small scout group, patrolling the area for more survivors. It consisted of 6 white masks, 4 insurgents, and 2 black masks. The group was armed with bio hazard suits. It could only suggested one thing: They had bio-weapons. The walked in a straight horizontal line using flashlights. One of the black masks had a massive tank on his back, which had a bio hazard symbol on it.

They clicked the button to activate the canisters, and tossed it through the flap. With a hiss, they sailed through the small hut, and exploded with a pale yellow gas. They waited for a few moments before a large group of insurgents came piling out of the tent. They were holding their eyes and throats, and tripping over each other. The two men raised their VA2's and disposed of the regular insurgents. They were unlikely to have any valuable intelligence, and they didn't have the time to take prisoners. The group of 14 insurgents were downed to 5. Leaving 3 White Masks, and 2 Black Masks. The remaining five were too busy coughing to notice the death of their subordinates, or the oncoming group of foreign commandos. The two 3 story buildings had been cleared, and the Vanguardsmen were off on their own spree somewhere in the distance. The five men were quickly subdued, and moved away from the vicinity of the command tent. 3 members of the team were off scavenging the command tent for usable intel like who they were, where their gear came from, and current orders/troop positions. Meanwhile the other 5 began their interrogation. First they started with removing any plausible weapons, and tying their targets up. Then, Hesse less than gently removed their fancy ballistic masks. They came from multiple ethnicities, the look in their eyes showed a fierce glare. One of them, the black mask was about to say something when Emerson knelt down and blew a fine powdery substance into their faces. This substance was used by Vacifian field operators who needed quick information. It was a more refined version of the "Devil's Breath" a drug once used by the CIA as a means of interrogation. It would serve their needs well. The men coughed violently, but then were overcome by a haze of confusion. Losing the air of seriousness, and hate. "You will tell us who you are. You will tell us where you came from, how you got here, and everything we want to know." she said in a steely tone. Some of the stronger men tried to resist the effects of the breath, but couldn't get out of the haze.

Vacif wrote:With the guns finished, they hopped off the ceremonial grounds, and started to march for the secondary command post. "That guy said something about Ulysses...isn't that the name of the asteroid that hit here back in '99?" asked Croce. He'd been thinking about what little information they'd gotten out of the insurgents before their untimely demise. The insurgents would of likely inserted from the sub(s) from the northern bay, as they'd had it locked down for most of the fight, while the south was controlled by the ISAF. The Sergeant relayed his thoughts to his Captain. "This is Oxide 1-1 to ISAF Ground Command. Be advised, possible insurgent submersible threat north of Yamoka island. We believe this is how insurgents landed so fast, and undetected. Hostiles mentioned something about Ulysses. Possible correlation to the asteroid strike back in 1999. Speculate that hostiles may be old friends of yours. Confirm?" Captain Stacer said all of this briskly without missing a beat. The 8 man team soon came within close enough proximity to see the Remnant soldiers. Cade gently flipped the switch on his radio to connect with that of the URA's. "This is Captain Stacer to URA Vanguardsmen. What's your status, over."

The United Remnants of America wrote:The two Vanguard stopped and took a knee when they heard Stacer's radio call. On the edge of their unaided vision in the night, Uno and Dux could just make out the shapes of a group of people. They silently prayed it was stacer and his team. Uno bit his lip and grumbled quietly to himself. Good to know Stacer was so confident of their comm channel's safety that he was willing to say his name and Uno's unit and home country. Uno sighed and figured he might as well reply, the enemy knew what they knew now. "Stacer, Uno. Status green for us. How goes your status, over? Was that you making the noise?"
The question about noise was an obvious reference to the explosions that Uno and Dux had witnessed earlier in the direction of what were supposed to be the enemy heavy weapon emplacements. Uno was at a loss as to what they were supposed to do now. Maybe Stacer had some information. If not, then he assumed they could hopefully exfil, and if they couldn't, then Uno assumed they'd have to stay on-station and hold the line along with the ISAF personnel.

It showed a decent group size of 35 cadets, marching with their hands tied. A group of 100 insurgents, consisting of 25 black masks and 25 white masks, with the rest being insurgents, followed closely. "We have a commanche available for fire support if needed."
