2nd War for Columbia

The intense fighting in the area has come to my attention in recent weeks. As we are not currently filled in on all of the details, New Boozland will not be entering this conflict right now but will keep a watchful eye on any changes that may affect our nation. Thank you for your time.

Minister Taylor, clearly agitated and annoyed, stood and laughed. "You are all squabbling children! The only ones winning this war are clearly the invaders. The Fascists in the west, Germans in the east and the Empire to the south. If any of you "allies" we're sensible, you'd surrender. Of course, the only REAL threat here are HYDRA, and we have proof they are ready to rebel"-as he shoots a cold glare to the HYDRA delegate-"so they are hardly a problem! If you Columbians even had a microbe of sense, you'd know we invaded to restore order, because you were too stupid to even run your government right which led to a civil war!" Dairus laughed again. "If you do not agree to my renewed proposal-that Florida and Cuba stay under imperial control-we will continue the onslaught. You have two hours to decide. If you deny the proposal, expect a full scale invasion."

[The RODina]

Ambassador Thomas Adams looked at the proposal. He knew the unified might of the USC wouldn't stand a chance against a full on New Dacius invasion but it'd slow them down. The real advantage was the size of the land and size of the resistance forces that would be made from the population. He had to be careful with how he played his cards in this situation. On the one hand they'd be loosing territory that had been part of the USC for a hundred plus years. On the other hand it'd be an ally against the Reds and the Fascists and the population would more than likely rebel against the Germans. But there was always the problem that, in selling them out for an ally against the Reds, the population would turn on the King and government. The hours were ticking by. Adams had to hurry with his decision.

Richthofen waited patiently for an answer from the Columbians, ignoring the outburst from that mad Consul. A million men had lost their lives in the Great Patriotic Wars and the Baron did not like this man disrespecting their sacrifice. He did comment though.

"Consul I have seen determination in battle. I have because I am a soldier who fought and still fights on the front lines. I am not a politician like you. I saw determination in the Belarusians at Minsk. They refused to surrender and fought to the death, do you think your men will do the same. I always find some way to respect my enemy, you make it difficult for me to respect. Our forces in New York have behaved as gracious occupiers and obeyed the Geneva Conventions to the letter."

The Consul scoffed, "yes, your slaughter of millions of innocents in Mexico with chemical weapons is both entirely gracious and in accordance with the Geneva Conventions. Do you know my name? It is Kirov. My father came to the Rodina from Russia, he fled your great army, he saw with his own eyes the atrocities and horrors you barbarians committed. I may not be a soldier, but I would give my lifeblood to stop you from doing the same in my new home."

"I have the utmost respect for the Belarussians, as do you, but I cannot respect an army whose claim to fame is the slaughter of millions of innocents!" the Consul began to feel his anger get the better of him, and slowed down. "In every street, forest, and building we will fight you, if you continue to invade sovereign nations. Even if we lose, we will not let a single one of us fall into your hands, if we all must die in our defense, than so be it," the Consul said, deadpan. "Furthermore, I do not want or need your respect, Baron. This is war, not a sporting match."

Taylor calmly pulled documents from his trench coat. They showed a HYDRA soldier, plus some papers. "This is Adam Samson, a HYDRA defector who defected to us earlier in the war. He was stationed in Alaska, and told us that his unit, and probably others, wanted to rebel. He and his comrades were sick of their harsh military life. He provided us with Intel, which we used." He flashed another cold stare to the HYDRA delegate, and said "don't worry, we got him away from YOU. he feared for his life, so now he is with us." He turned back to the USC delegate. "The soldier has also heard rumors of possible betrayal. He says it's nothing concrete, but rumors can turn out to be true. There is our proof to a possible HYDRA betrayal." The room fell silent.

Richthofen cleared his throat as he now had to respond. "If I might draw your attention to the fact that the Russian Federation and its allies in the Baltic, Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldavia attacked Germany first thus sparking the Russo-German War. The Russians firebombed Konigsburg killing six hundred thousand innocents. Yet when we marched against them, they tried to portray us as genocidal conquerors." He produced a tablet from his jacket pocket and slid it across the table to Kirov. "Proof." Pictured on the screen were legitimate documents captured from the Russian High Command in Moscow. Orders to conduct a propaganda campaign portraying German forces in an almost satanic light. There were so many signatures on it that it eliminated thoughts of doubt.

"We obeyed the Geneva Conventions in Russia and we are obeying it here. Whatever attack your speaking of in Mexico, I know nothing of. And I can tell you that neither the Kaiser, the Reichstag, or the German General's Staff know of it either."

The 24 hours were rapidly approaching their end. Two hours remained. Adams was exhausted from the staying up and the never ending bickering. He took a sip of his chocolate drink (http://www.americanheritagechocolate.com/home/goods). At this point he just wanted to storm out of the building and give the King the goahead for launching Safehouse. But if there was even a sliver of chance of surviving without going off the deep end it was here.
"A new deal," Adams said to the ambassador from New Dacius, hoping HYDRA wasn't really planning on betraying the USC "you help us fight the Communists and in return we give 4.8 million pounds of our Uranium and 100,000 gallons of our oil to you along with compensation for the widows and wounded of your troops?"

[New Axiom]

Dairus Taylor was rapidly approaching his end of patience, and the Imperial Honor Guard was getting itchy trigger fingers as they stood behind Taylor and Ajistu. In all reality, Taylor was just the Minister of Defense, not a politician. If he had his way Columbia would've been MOABed to ash by now. Taylor stood up. "Adams!" He called the USC delegate. "You have half an hour to consider our new proposal. You give the New Axiom Empire Cuba, Florida and Honduras, or we will launch renewed invasions in New Orleans, Atlanta, and even Philadelphia itself. New Axiom has planes filled with Airborne troops, just ready to fly. We may lose many, many men in Phily, but so be it. What do you say, Adams?" Of course, Taylor was bluffing about the Philadelphia invasion, but he wasn't sure if Cyrus would order one anyways.

Carl frowned when he saw all of the representatives shouting at each other.

Well at least I got them all in the same room talking

"Let's not be too hasty here. Diplomacy takes time right?"

"No one should even be talking about using nuclear weapons. The radioactive fall out from those things would effect everyone. And if enough of them are used, we'll have a nuclear winter. All the crops would die. And civilization would die with it. Do you guys really want the whole world to turn into Mad Max?"

"At least agree to extend the ceasefire one more day. We've all seen enough death. The people of our nations deserve better."

"Who do you think you are kidding, Baron? Our frumentarii examined the corpses of those killed in matamoros. It was a chemical weapon far beyond the capabilities of Nova Capile. So we got to thinking, what is it. Thankfully one of our frumentarii infiltrators in Koenigsberg is familiar with your K-Gas, and the effects on the corpses is typical of the weapon," the Consul said.

"Your vilification of the Russian government is also similarly one sided, you accuse them of propaganda yet you regularly oppress those Frenchmen, Poles and Russians whose lands you occupy. The reason your soldiers obey the Geneva convention is because all your illegal, downright disgusting acts are done under a veil, like the attack on Matamoros. Even if we don't have the hard convicting evidence, just know this. We know what you did," the Consul said angrily.

"What about the hydra fleet attacking Cuba? And what about HYDRA in general?" Taylor actually smiled, for once.

Ceasefire talks

Richthofen looked at his watch and sighed. It would seem peace had been avoided. The invasion operations had begun two hours ago. And thanks to the Abwehr jamming any transmissions directed to this meeting center, these fools knew nothing of it.

"It would seem Gentleman that Columbia is out of time."

General Overview of German Invasion

The operation began with over ten thousand Luftwaffe bombers conducting air raids on over two hundred Columbian military targets across the East Coast. Non-Nuclear ICBM's hit another hundred and fifty sites. The Abwehr openly began jamming Columbian military communication lines whilst sleeper agents destroyed the physical lines such as cell towers and the like.

Army Group A landed its Rear Echelons on the Cape Cod Peninsula whilst the rest of the troops made landfall in Boston itself. Army Group B landed its troops in proximity to both Quebec City and Montreal, encircling both targets. Army Group C targeted Yorktown, Virginia. Army Group D hit Charleston, South Carolina.


OOC: In one of my earlier posts (Somewhere between Pages 2-5) I gave a list of the units participating and the Army Group they are assigned to. Also keep in mind that for two hours now IC wise, my military intelligence service has jammed communications headed for the meeting center so the delegates will not yet know the invasion has begun.

The NMK Ambassador's facial expression changed when he heard this. At first he looked shocked, now it was more worried and uneasy. He shouted at the delegate "If you invade that city, I might just kill you on behalf ot the Emperor and the NMK's government."

The NMK Ambassador was surprised, but remained somewhat stoical. He enquired "Why would I do that? I would only do that if you captured the city and it's inhabitants. Certain officials are present there and their capture would be an immediate high level threat to the NMK's national security and government. In such a situation I would consider it my duty to try it."

At this time, the Helo pilots told him about the German offensive. Dairus was furious and cursed loudly. He then ordere due elite Honor Guard to escort Ajistu and him out. A few seconds later, the windows shattered as New Axiom Special Forces stormed in. (OOC overly dramatic, I know.) Dairus and Ajistu calmly walked over to the imposing soldiers. As several delegates in the room raised weapons, a loudspeaker from one of the choppers broadcasted: "fire a single round, and everyone dies." Three seconds later, Dairuscheerfully called out to the USC ambassador: "I hope the offer isn't taken back!" He then climbed out the windows, and onto the waiting chopper.

Adams dashed out of the room upon hearing Richthofen's message. He dashed into the VTOL and shouted at the pilot "Get us back to the mainland pronto!"

"Incoming!"
A shell from one of the battleships smashed the cobblestone street to bits sending metal and stone shrapnel everywhere. The garrison force of 200,000 had been caught with their pants down by the Germans. What few troops remained who didn't flee at the sight of the invasion force were trying to slow them down as best they could.
The squad resumed advancing forward as they shot at any German they could find. By the time they reached the meet up point at City Hall a general retreat order had been given by the commanding officer.
"We've got to pull back! Yorktown's lost! We're heading to Philly to make a last stand there!"

Cheyenne Mountain Complex
The King read the reports and looked at the Satellite images with horror. Yorktown, Montreal, Quebec, Charleston, and Boston had fallen to the Germans and they appeared to have rebuilt the bridge in New York. The routed troops were heading either to Nova Scotia, Philadelphia, or the Mountain Complex to make their last stands.
"Sir," Hancock asked nervously as he adjusted his red tie "should we consider launching Safehouse?"
The King looked at him and began to walk out of the war room having the operators at their computers and all the guards stare at him.
"No! Give our people at least one more month before we give up! Now if you need me I'll be at the front!"

Dairus and Ajistu sat aboard their chopper, heading back to Elysium. Ajistu asked, "should we proceed with the invasion?" Minister Taylor replied, "Yes. Ready troops and set target locations for Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Atlanta. Too bad we didn't sign a truce with the USC."

Military High Command-Elysium, 22:00
Cyrus silva gave the order to invade, after communicating with his Minister of Defence, Dairus Taylor. The invasion would not start until midnight, in an effort to surprise the USC. His plan was simple: capture New Orleans, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and hopefully rendezvous with the Germans on the eastern front, then push westward and link up with the Facsists in the west. He also decided to commence not only an airborne, but also waterborne invasion of New Orleans. Hopefully, after not too much longer, the war would be over with the Imperial flag flying over the southeast US.

Suddenly, as the Duke and Regent were going through the terms of the alliance, two Capilean Royal Guards burst into the room. "My liege! We must get you out now! the German invasion is beginning!" Without waiting for answer the guards grabbed the Duke and pulled him out of the room. "Regent, if you have no other transport, you may come with me!" the Duke called back into the Hall. His guards shoved him out of the building. Looking up, he saw the deafening Luftwaffe bomber squadrons wreaking havoc on Philly. Desperate Colummbian and Coalition(NMK, Capilean, HYDRA, various others) AA gunners and troops tried to combat them, but there were two many. Up ahead a bomb exploded on top of a car, sending the Duke flying to the ground. Burnt concrete flew into the air, but his guards hauled him up and shoved him into a limo. Immediately it sped away from the city, narrowly avoiding enemy bombers.(OOC:NMK, if you come with me you can RP before we exit the Hall) The Duke was being taken to St. Louis to meet with his son, and then together they would fly back to Nova Capile. Leopold Morser and Lt. Gen. Winser(recently promoted because of his successes in Mexico) would be left in charge of the diplomatic and military affairs in Columbia, respectively, from now on. It was simply too dangerous to remain in Columbia.
With the massive German invasion the entire Capilean Expeditionary Force was being shifted to the East. They were set to link up with any surviving Coalition forces. The West would be up to the Rodinian and NMK forces.

Leopold froze as the dastardly New Axiom troops held them under gunpoint. "You bastards won't get away with this!" He promptly stood up and spat on the one honor guard's foot. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have important business at the Columbian capitol. You will rue this day, sir!" WIth another spit towards the guards, he spun on his heels and walked towards the door.
