The situation has turned on us, we are no longer able to hold Samir. I recommend we regroup at Pecka or Isla and counter attack. In order to retake it any force would need over five thousand special force, twenty mechanized infantry battalions , over a thousand tanks, and extensive close air support from over sixty close air support aircraft.

BROADCASTER:In a stunning turn of events, and after days of stalled decisions, Most Holy, Reverence Valyron I will address the Synod in a few minutes, regarding the Samuli Civil War and the inaction of the Legislature. Several officials have been seen entering and exiting the Discipilarium, which is the Official Residence of the Reverence. Most notable among these officials was the Speaker of The Synod, Justinia Nevarius and CEO of Leonum Premier Arms; Junius Alexius. Of course, the discussion and meeting have not been recorded, since media are not allowed in the Reverence's Residence. We will now take you live to the Grand Chambers of The Synod, where his holiness, Reverence Valyron has just arrived and will begin this historic address to The Synod

The Chamber would fall to a complete silence as the Reverence takes his place on the stand. A man in his late 50s, the Reverence was voted in by a slim majority of three votes. It is notable that the three votes that gained him his office all come from Lord-Bishops who are majority stock holders in Leonum Premier Arms, the country's foremost and largest weapons manufacturing corporation.

"Blessed be The Synod, the wardens of truth, Blessed are the Peacekeepers, the warriors of the Faith" Valyron would begin his speech by quoting lines from the Scriptura Dominica; The Faith of Lativeum's Holy Book.

"I come before you all today to address and perhaps persuade some of you. The situation in Samuli grows worse day by day, hundreds, if not thousands of refugees are fleeing the fight, which devolves as each day progresses. Several factions are fighting for several agendas, whilst innocents are losing lives. We cannot stand idly by as men, women and children are displaced from their homes. I however also acknowledge the bureaucratic and political quagmire that we may face if we intervene in this conflict. Which is why on this day, the 6th of October, 190th Year of Deus (2015 CE) at 15:30 hours, I hereby constitute a Divine Will to intervene in the Samuli Civil War." The Shock among the Lord-Bishops of the Synod is clear, the Reverence just made an unprecedented decision. However, to Junius Alexius, present in the crowd, beneath his veneer of shock lies a pleased grin, as the Reverence announces an official armed Lativean entry into the conflict.

"Evil triumphs as good men do nothing, which is I hereby give orders for our government to contact the Regime Forces in Samuli, who continue the fight against the faithless communist forces. I also hereby give orders for the Sky Force to conduct recon and potential air strikes on communist and anti-government positions. My Lord-Bishops, citizens and Clergy of The Faith. We will help end this conflict and bring back stability to our eastern neighbour, I sincerely hope that through the grace of Deus, that this conflict will end swiftly and justice brought upon those who began it.

BROADCASTER: "This is truly a stunning turn of events, to our audience, when a Reverence orders 'Divine Will' on a relating matter, this circumvents the Synod's Legislative powers. This reserve power of the Reverence has only been used twice in the past, the first time to quell the uprising in Portis Volumnia and the second time to institute the creation of The Sky Force. The Rodinan Golden Banner Flotilla has left its home port at Aldern and sailed north. It takes with it the Aircraft Carriers RWS Rodinan Superbia, RWS Invictum and the RWS Abyssus. These Carriers are full of GVO-13K "Sea Fulcrum" fighters, as well as a number of PuK-3 "Vulpes" strike Fighters. In addition to these forces, the Helicopter Carrier, RWS Aeros has been deployed to proved the fire support of 50 MiR-6 Helicopter Gunships.

These forces are hoped to be able to aid the government forces of Samuli who have been waging a long-term Civil War against communist forces. The Senate had initially intended to remain neutral in this conflict. However, viral videos of Communist leaders executing what appeared to be civilians prompted a more severe Senate response to the threat to Samuli. Currently, the Senate reaction to the Communist threat will be limited to airstrikes, but Senate officials have confirmed that armed intervention by the Golden Legion is currently being discussed.

A strike force of Sea Fulcrums began preliminary air strikes earlier today, and reports indicate that the RVL has been targeting Communist positions in and around the city of Samir. The GVO-13K is an upgraded version of the GVO-11 "Ranger", and is primarily designed to be used on carrier-based operations such as the ones currently being undertaken by the Flying Legion.

Within the halls of the Grand Temple, the headquarters of the Government which contains the head offices of all ten ministers, each of their offices will be empty, as these great men and women that form the core of the Lativean Government gather in one of the many conference rooms. The ten Ministers, most notable among them include the Grand Temple Chamberlain, Hosterian Gavar, a surly looking man in his 60s, Speaker of the Synod, Justinia Nevarius, a woman in her late 50s and the only one in the room who would make them quake in their boots, High Justiciar of The Holy Temple of Justice, Briar Vaelon a tall, no-nonsense man in his late 40s, the main proponent of capital punishment, and his arch-rival, the Minister for War and Peace, Varan Justinius, the youngest among them, at 35 years old, some would say he is too young for the office, but those who do say such, find themselves at the razor's edge of wit. All ten would be looking intently at the main screens in front of them, as they watch the Rodinans on Live News, launch their forces to intervene in the conflict.



"You all know as much as I, that whatever is spoken from this forth in this room, shall not leave it." Justinia, would speak in her usual tone, a mix of persuasion and threat.

"We do not yet know why the real reason why the Rodinans entered the conflict, and we will not cooperate with them until our Minister for External Affairs and her diplomats have met with them, on their other aims in this conflict."

Whilst Justinia would speak, the silence would be such that nothing more than their breathing can be heard, as she finishes her part another would rise. Varan Justininius would rise from his seat and shut the main screen off, the next image shown would be a geographical cartograph of the Lativean-Border to the east. Justinius would move on to explain, the next set of plans.

"Now, whilst the diplomats will meet with the Rodinans, assuming they accept our request at a meeting, our forces will begin preparing their entry into Samuli territory. Whether or not we've received a reply back from Silva, we have to assume that something may have happened or their capabilities to communicate may have diminished. Nonetheless, we will prepare our entry. The first to move will be Sky Recon with the 12th Sky Flotilla, taking off from Avexus, then the 3rd Task Force of the Sea Fleet will depart from Romanum and move towards the Littoral Area of the Samuli Coast in preparation for possible sea-based fire-support and for an amphibious strike against non-government personnel in Uva, assuming the communists have control of the area. Then from Sanguinarus, the third, fourth and sixth Ground force Brigades will enter Samuli, they will be accompanied with mechanized, armoured and artillery support companies. I'm afraid the details of the numbers and specific equipment in the Strike Force will be classified until the day. The Ministry will be calling this; Operatus Phoenix Claw." Varan would resume his seat as Justinia would stand up again.

"Very good Minister, I shall report this to his Holiness. Now, we must send the message to the Rodinans. I will appoint Lord-Bishop Xyron Hestius as head of the delegation. For now, this meeting is adjourned."

As Air Strikes in Samuli continue, another combatant in the war, Great Lativeum, has expressed a desire to meet the Senate in person to discuss the Rodina's role in this conflict. Air Strikes will continue throughout these talks, as the RVL has claimed to have destroyed multiple rebel supply caches and destroyed many AA emplacements in their continuing air strikes.

The Consul (Minister for Foreign Affairs) and Senator Tribune (Defense Minister) have both departed from Veraglia port aboard the RWS Sutting. A Message has already been wired to the Great Lativeum Government on behalf of the Senate.

We accept to meet with Great Lativeum officials, a Rodina Navy Destroyer has been dispatched with two representatives on board. The others in the delegation include Justinia herself, Deputy Sky-Marshal Voltair Carus, the oldest serving flag officer in the Armed Forces and 3rd Fleet Commander Cyrus Gavorn, one of Sky-Marshal Carus' students back at Eastfort Officer's Academy.

With the exception of Xyron who is running late, the other three Lativean delegates would await the reply of the Rodinans, after sending the following message:

Consul Kirov and Senator-Tribune Aemilianus arrive in Great Lativeum


Consul Kirov meets with Lativeum delegates in Romanum.

Earlier today, Rodinan Senators Kirov and Aemilianus, Praefecti of Foreign Affairs and Defense respectively, landed in the Lativeum capital of Romanum. The issues on their agenda are primarily the ongoing conflict in the nation of Samuli, where Rodinan Air Forces continue to conduct airstrikes on Communist positions in the country.

The Senate decided to send both Consul Kirov and Senator-Tribune Aemilianus, as the Offices of Foreign Affairs and Defense have the most stake in the conflict. The CEOs of VertOpp and Pulemat had both expressed their desire to attend, however the Senate ultimately determined that such a sensitive diplomatic meeting would not be the appropriate place for Arms Manufacturers, who have vested interest in the conflict at hand. Contrary to what some critics of the Senate involvement in Samuli, the Senate expects the war to only be a short affair.

The Delegates have both been greatly enjoying their time in the capital city of Romanum, the people have been very hospitable and the press of Great Lativeum have expressed their interest in the Rodinan Delegate, and the delegation have been more than happy to indulge them.

After first landing they met with Lord Bishop Hestius, and together they traveled to the Great City Hall. There they met with the Speaker of the Grand Synod, Justinia Nevarus, as well as two military men, Misters Gavorn and Carus. The discussions began, and the Rodinans told the Lativean Delegation their intentions in Samuli-- merely to restore order and ensure that the tyrannical communists do not reduce the nation to rubble.

When the discussions were over (further information regarding the semantics of the discussion are yet to be released to the press), the Senators enjoyed a few days in the Capital City of Romanum, enjoying the Lativean culture, visiting restaurants, vineyards, and exploring the sights of the city. CARUS: Very appropriate question, I have been authorised to release some details which we had shared with our Rodinan allies, regarding Lativean Ground Force and Sky Force movements, there will be a land operation launched from Sanguinarus, aimed to secure Major Samuli Cities for Pro-Government groups. These movements will be supported by rapid-troop insertion by air and occasional Air targeting by our Sky Force. Right now the Sky Force's main goal is reconnaissance of Communist troop movements. We have chosen to let the Rodinans lead the Air Campaign at this time. We have also given them information on Lativean Troop movements to avoid potential friendly-fire. Further information on size of troops and equipment are classified at this time.

KIROV: At this time, the Rodinan Legion's involvement will be limited to Air Strikes, yes. However the Senate is considering the deployment of no more than a thousand marines to aid the effort, should such an action be necessary.

Air Strikes in Samuli have been damaging Communist Terrorist positions in the arid regions of Samuli.

After a successful rounds of Negotiations, the Senate has seen fit to announce an alliance between the Rodina and Great Latevium, this will make campaigns more effective for both parties in the Area of Operations in Samuli. The Senate remains tight-lipped about the possibility of Ground Forces being deployed, but inside sources claim that the 3rd Marine Cohort has been deployed to Veraglia, perhaps hinting at further involvement in the Samuli Civil War.

The Government forces in Samuli have been engaging in heavy fighting with communist rebels since the beginning Rodina's anti-terror operations in Samuli, these Air-Strikes have primarily concentrate on the area around the city of Samir, which has recently fallen to Communist forces.

If Ground forces are deployed, say senior Rodinan Defense Magistrates, they would be mainly tasked with the defense of the Samuli capital, , should it ever be threatened by Communist forces. These Magistrates also hinted that, if an increased presence in the nation is required, the Rodinan Legion would be prepared to send an increasing number of Legionaries to further prop-up the Samuli government. However they confirmed that such an operation would be at least months away.

In addition, Rodinan Helicopters have been sent to support Government forces in close-air-support roles. However, their use has been limited as the Rodina is not yet prepared to dedicate large numbers of forces in potentially dangerous missions.

In Samuli, Brigade-Commander Gabrielus Festaeon would be awaiting nervously as The Lativean troops make their entry into Samuli, hearing that the tanks and heavy equipment will be transported by rail, lessened his worry, but at the same time a thought permeated the back of his mind; what if the rails are sabotaged? In response to that, Commander Festaeon had sent almost half of his current troops to monitor the rail network from Sanguinarus to the village outside of Uva, by air so that the heavy equipment would arrive unharmed. By the time the troops get here as well, he'll have another person to answer to. Lieutenant-General Salissa Dramach, the highest serving female flag officer in the armed forces, and apparently the overall person in charge of Operation Phoenix Talon, in Samuli. She's due to be arriving soon, with her staff. An hour or so later, Gamma Camp, is awash with activity, Light Cargo Choppers and Armored Personnel Carriers; the vanguard of the Lativean force had arrived early.

"Attention! Brigadier-Commander Gabrielus Festaeon, commanding officer of Gamma Camp, these are my Legates, Jaxus and Ganae. First-Legate Crassius Valkner is currently our forward observer and is out of the camp." Festaeon would remain saluting as Salissa Dramach would inspect his men.

"Brigade-Commander, Let it be known I am not here to babysit you, nor am I here to chastise you on going out here in the first place, nor will I be recording a performance record of your actions. I will assume that you will be innovative, that you will know what to do when a situation arises BUT are still one-hundred and ten percent, be able to follow my orders, you will FOLLOW my orders or die trying not to. Do I make myself understood, Brigade-Commander?!"What many know in the Armed Forces is that Salissa Dramach, is not to be ever fucked with, period.

"Sir, Yes sir. That's the only answer Salissa would require, and the only answer Festaeon would give.

"Good. Now to the Command Hub for a briefing." The officers of the camp would follow Dramach tentatively, making sure they keep a bit of a distance between her and them.

"So this is the current situation, our friends in The Rodina know this, so if we have a mishap of friendly-fire, I will visit their commanders personally and make sure they wish they never intervened in this conflict. Other than that our operations are going smoothly, in the Sea-Fleets, we have the HLS SANGUINARUS, HLS PROPHECIRON and HLS VOLUMNIA providing emergency medical and fire-support, they're commanded by Gavorn, so it'll be easy for me to tell him to divert forces if necessary. For air support we have AV-10 Phoenixes on deck in Leonum, ready to be called if need be. For the Ground force, I shall take direct command of the 5th and 6th Cohortus, Festaeon I want you to take command of the 4th Cohortus and your Legates will take command of the 2nd Support-Cohortus. All the troops neccessary for this operation will be in Samuli by 05:00 tomorrow, roughly abour 15,000-20,000 men, 30,000 if I call the Minister for War and Peace directly. But I am sure this conflict won't last long. These Godless commies have not met the glorious might of Lativean steel, fire and bullets, blessed by Deus himself! I want a smooth operation, I want a quick operation! Now, move out to your assigned orders! For The Faith!"

"FOR THE FAITH!" Festaeon and his officers would reply, before heading out to their field commands. Truly, at this point the war to rid this continent of Communists have begun.

Meanwhile in Port Virgon, one of the other cities where a majority of the population are against the war, the officials at the Great City Hall, discuss among themselves, what to do about the growing number of Protesters. It would not help their case as well that Xyron Hestius is their local representative to the Grand Synod - Lativeum's Legislature.

"Farnac, they're right outside the steps, what are we to do? Hestius is not in the city, plus our Archbishop is currently in the hospital, what are we to do?" One of the City Officials would exasperatedly talk to Deputy-Commissioner Bennar Varant, the Archbishop's second in command.
