As the pilot left the room, Ms Thatcher turned to her assistant to file the papers away and to prepare for their visit. Sitting back in the co-pilots chair, he tapped the pilot on the shoulder.
"They're good to go," said Henry, buckling himself back in. The pilot nodded and flicked a switch before speaking into the microphone.
"Avalone Tower, this is Flight Fox-Alpha zero, zero, one - call sign Fortune. Requesting permission to land, over." He waited for a response, banking the aircraft gently into the flight path for the runway, which was still a dozen or so miles away.

For example, I wish to create a defensive pact with the nations of Polar Svalbard, Miklania, And Doppler. I also wish to create a trade route with Linivair, Nova Catania and Doppler."

Adam nodded in understanding. "Would it be pretentious for representatives to forge deals with other nations in this summit?"

Desmond once more broke his silence with a light tap of the foot, and spoke eyes closed. "Everyone does bring up a good point; a lot of what you have stated that you wish to accomplish could be made in a series of bilateral agreements rather than through a meeting of this type." He took a long pause, and then continued. "Knowing this, there must be another reason, so far unstated, that you have requested all of us here. I believe that all of us wish to get to the matter at hand: what is this reason?"

He opened his eyes and looked at Sanders, waiting for a response.

Prelan looked around, nearly all the representatives had already spoken. Some were questioning why they were invited and appeared suspicious of the Havenese's intent. Many of the friendlier, and clearly more desperate, representatives had already moved on to seeking deals. Prelan continued to remain quiet as the other nations spoke up, next to him both Renoux and Ladrian stayed quiet too, which was odd of Ladrian. Renoux clearly stood out among the formal looks over everyone with his simple green robes, yet he remained quiet and nearly invisible. Prelan still had no idea why Renoux had wanted to come, the man had rarely spoken at home, yet he had been insistent on coming. While observing Renoux, he hadn't realized that Ladrian had stood up until he spoke.
"Mr. Harris, I apologize but like many here, I must ask, why have we, of the Domiance of Terraium, been invited?"
Ladrian had a stern face on his face, something that Prelan hadn't seen in years.

Adam and Aster turned to the delegates from Terraium, the one in the green cloak was interesting. It was as if he had a different sort of energy than everyone else in the room. Their curiosity moved them to focus on them, but doing so caused a chill to run down their spines.

Lady Thatcher sat in her designated chair, watch the delegates around her. Listening intently, she had yet to address the chamber and hadn't spoken much since her arrival in Havenburgh. As the various representatives continued to squawk; her eyes followed the conversation around the room as her hand moved across the page of her notebook. She usually did this at meetings. She was always careful to listen to what was said and to make notes upon it. Back at home, earlier on in her career, her fellow MPs would mock her for it - they don't any more. On the contrary, when she now produces her notepad, they were quick to take care with their words or faced a barrage of well aimed political comebacks.

So far, she did not make much of the assemble. There were the usual attitudes present in the meeting - the isolationists, the capitalists, the socialists and indeed the dreamers and armchair philosophers. Although she didn't go against what the Havenburgh chap had to say; she knew his heart was in the right place - but Lady Thatcher was a realist. Humanity had been waging wars against neighbours, squabbling over resources and backstabbing friends since the dawn of time - that wasn't going to be changed overnight.

She looked up at the Emperor, a small smile sitting in the corner of her mouth. "They don't make that mistake anymore."
