[Atmaera]

With the war raging across Europe and North Africa, Atmaera, situated in the heart of the Asian sphere was far from the conflict at large. However The Federal Republic had long since pledged to take the necessary measures to combat the growing aggression of The New Roman Empire.

To this end Supreme Chancellor Baratheon summoned his joint chiefs of staff and much of the Atmaeran War Council to come up with a solution for Atmaera's entry into the war. Some suggested that an invasion of the Empire should take place from Atmaera's position in the East. This would send troops over the Himalayas and into India. Other's suggested an Air campaign to combat. The Romans in the West by sending in troops to Europe and North Africa, it was decided that to do so would be a logistical nightmare, so the war council compromised on more realistic solutions. The men of the council all new that eventually Atmaera would have to Invade Rome but, they also new that they would need a commitment from New Woundour and The UMU to hold down the Empire in the East. So for now the Military leaders drafted a Strategic Defense Initiative to protect Atmaeran territory.

Mobile S-400 SAM defenses utelizing the 40N6 missiles which ensure ranges of up 400 km are to be placed all along the Roman-Atmaeran Border.

Army Groups are to set up defensive positions on the Atmaeran-Roman border

6 Armor divisions are to be stationed on the Atmaeran-Roman border

Regular Air Patrols are to be conducted all along the Atmaeran-Roman border

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, fleets are to sail to the Indian Ocean and attempt to sink any confirmed Roman military vessel. Typhoon Hunter-Killer Submarines from the 8th fleet are to accompany the Indian Ocean Battle Group for protection.

Regular Naval Air Patrols are to keep watch for any Roman military ships attempting to cross the Indian Ocean.

Mines Are also to be placed along regular Roman military routes to leading into the South Indian Ocean.

The Atmaeran intervention was not intended to stop the Roman fleets but intended to impede logistics and constrict Roman Naval Supremacy to the North Indian Ocean. Meanwhile Atmaera was preparing for any attempt at attack along it's border.

Emperor Titus has finally given the word. The main bulk of the Roman army has been ordered to cross the border into the Balkans and commence the invasion of New Wondour. The army will cross through Greece, Bulgaria and Macedonia.

Roman forces have started their attack on the city. 700 soldiers have begun their attack on the city, burning down buildings and killing civilians and police officers who fight back. An armored force of 20 tanks is accompanying this attack, together with a joint air force of 9 attack helicopters.

Battle of Sicily

The Hambonian forces are also surprised by fire from Frigates that had been patrolling the coasts. Also a nearby Aircraft Carrier, the HMS King Arthur deploys 25 helicopters loaded with over 100 soldiers. The helicopters are accompanied by 15 hovercraft each carrying 2 tanks and 2 AFV's totaling 60 vehicles landing on the Sicilian coast near Hambonian positions.

Bulgaria

Army reinforcements have been deployed from Greece in order to attack the incoming Roman forces. Army group C, also known as the Balkans Army Group has been activated to counterattack the Roman invading force.

The hambonian infantrymen fell back to an old trench system.. And held position there.. About 22 SU-50's made it into the air to fight back the union air forces.. They would shoot down helicopters.. And pursue bombers.

A few Hambonian tanks that survived the initial attacks were brought into action.. These "Sabre" tank destroyers could easily destroy any armor.. But had to be protected.. For they lacked a turret.

Machine gunners stood in the trenches, while "phalanx" units held their ground with massive shields, and repelled bullets coming their way.

About 4900 men remain in sicily.. A reinforcement of 1000 more will be arriving from turkey in two days.

Meanwhile.. The hambonians south of the Mediterranean have secured part of saudi arabian coast. The hambonian 9th fleet will dock there.

The Sabre tanks were instantly met with bombardment from Unionian tanks and Infantry carrying launchers, and even by bombers, fighters, attack helicopters, and by artillery. The bombers were capable of defending themselves from the Hambonian fighters, they were shot at by a variety of guns. Unionian fighters would greatly outgun and outnumber the SU-50's, and would be more than capable enough to fight back against the fighters targeting other Unionian helicopters and bombers and even finish off the remaining 22. To counter the enemy trenches, they simply airstriked it with napalm, bombarded it with SPG fire, and threw grenades in there. To counter the phalanx's shields, they threw grenades and molotov's at them, airstriked their positions, and used armor piercing rounds to at least harm the phalanx's. The Unionian numbers could very easily overwhelm the Hambonians.

The IMC have sent the 9th fleet in saudi, to sicily for a full evacuation, all hambonian soldiers in sicily will be temporarily withdrawn back to turkey. The 9th fleet is expecting a naval battle, and have had all men at battlestations.

The Romans seeing their allies being defeated in the Sicily campaign sent reinforcements to aid them. They have sent in one of their best Admirals, Legate Sipius to lead a fleet into enemy waters and aid the incoming 9th fleet. This fleet also contains an army detachment.

All troops in sicily had gotten to the fleet, currently the 9th fleet is holding position for the next few hours.. But will return to friendly waters soon.

Most of The hambonian's white uniforms were covered in blood.. And bodies were being dragged across the beaches to the ships at sea, to be buried at sea..

The exausted troopers simply dragged their feet and weapons.. Some collapsed from exhaustion.

Only 10 of the (about) 30 SU-50's made it home that night.. And all of the sabre tank destroyers had sank into a ridiculously deep swamp.

Every ships medical bay is full.. The hambonians are on alert.

The Admiral of the 3rd Roman fleet noticed how the Hambonians were fleeing the island. He sent them a transmission saying: "Stay and fight my fellow allies, do as we do, fight to the death for our country and Emperor". As the message was being sent, Roman fighters entered the Sicilian air space and commenced their bombardment of the militias camps and also destroyed multiple military outposts. Meanwhile, the 3rd fleet was battling with a detachment of the New Wondour Mediterranean fleet, loosing slightly to the more technologically advanced enemy.

The Atmaeran 10th fleet had entered the Mediterranean 1 day before and had begun it's preparation to strike at The Roman Fleet.

The 10 fleet was comprised of
1 Aircraft Carrier, The Venator which served as the flag ship of the fleet
8 Destroyers
6 Submarines 3 of which were, SSGN platforms capable of supplementing the destroyers as guided missile platforms, The other 3 Submarines were SSNS platforms which specialized in destroying other submarines and ships they were the hunter killers of the fleet.

Admiral Everest of the tenth fleet immediately ordered for an offensive operation to begin against enemy fleets.

The Mediterranean

"Roman signatures identified, confirm Roman battle group 145 km out" An Atmaeran DBR operator claimed

"General Quarters, Evan's have the Resolute and the Sovereign initiate long range attack protocol Omega immediately" The Admiral ordered

Attack protocol Omega was the order given by the Atmaeran fleet to launch the 1000kg thermobaric warhead, nicknamed the Vengeance-300. The Vengeance 300 when launched was equipped with extremely sophisticated systems including ECM countermeasures, course correction. The missile can home in on the electromagnetic and radar signatures of enemy ships. The missile was also design to have a decreased radar cross section as well. Making the missile a potent, destructive and incredibly elusive weapon to use against enemy ships. A total of 6 of these missiles were launched from the Atmaeran fleets at Roman destroyers which were spotted on radar. After the initial launch of these missiles VLS missiles would be launched form the ships as well at enemy targets to ensure their destruction. These were less accurate and did not have radar countermeasures but the initial strike would have caused disarray among the damaged ships.

Above the carrier group regular patrols were conducted above the battle group by Rafale fighter they were fitted with Air to Air weaponry to fend off any air attacks. The Admiral also devoted 3 squadrons to preform Anti ship operations at standoff ranges with LSAM missiles. They targeted the smaller corvettes and frigates, however they were out of range of the coastal defense aircraft.

The SSGN submarines, fired their anti ship missiles at the romans along with the surface vessels. The SSNS submarine platforms moved in on The Roman fleet using their stealth capabilities, and beyond surface engagement depth, their target The Roman aircraft carrier.

On the defense the Atmaeran MH-60 R helicopters began deploying sonobuoys to detect for enemy submarines. Ships were scanning for magnetic anomalies, heat signatures via Infra red scanners, and acoustic countermeasures that would scan for any noise and bubble makers.

With this offensive Atmaera would officially be entering the war in Europe.

Mediterranean Sea

If the Atmaeran offensive didn't destroy the Romans, the best navy in the world, the New Wondrian Navy would surely end with the Romans 3rd fleet. The Mediterranean fleet (which wasn't present in that area as it was participating in a joint exercise with the Australian fleet) has arrived to intercept the Roman fleet and aid the Atmaerans in combat.

Battle of the Mediterranean

The first to arrive at the battle are the 10 submarines belonging to the Australian fleet. 3 Submarines commence their attack on the Roman 3rd fleet, launching anti-ship torpedoes toward the Roman carrier and supporting frigates. Meanwhile the rest of the submarines will use the "Pack Tactic" made infamous by Nazi Germany during World War II in order to find and destroy Roman submarines. Meanwhile the rest of the fleet will arrive in 3 hours to assist during the battle.

The 9th fleet grouped with the roman 3rd, and are currently battling the wondourian fleet.

AT SEA

(Gunshots and yelling)

"High Admiral! Our ships are in position, the battleships: H.S.S "Lord of Nordenvic", and H.S.S "Rapier" are ready to fire. And our carriers have scrambled jets!"

High admiral jace maddox, one of the most experienced naval officers in the world, was commanding the 9th from the HSS "Claymore".

"Aye ensign.. Radio to the subs to prepare their torpedoes."

"Yes sir, sounding the alarm for battle".

("Alert! All hands report! This is not a drill, i repeat.. This is not a drill! Battlestations!")

The 9th fleet was about to make its final stand Along side their allies. "For the Lords"! The saliors and soldiers cried..

The Roman 3rd fleet had suffered a lot of damage both from Atmaeran forces and the New Wondrian submarines. But they would not give up until their whole fleet was destroyed and all of its soldiers were dead. In total, the Romans had already lost 8 ships to the enemy and more than 1,200 of their soldiers and at least 700 crew members and the fleet's only aircraft carrier had suffered extensive damage. From the aircraft carriers all fighter jets took off along with attack and transport helicopters. The transport helicopters headed for Sicily while the attack helicopters and fighter jets headed toward the enemy fleet. Some fighter jets that were not loaded with weapons would start a collision course toward the enemy ships and crash into them, sometimes they would hit the bridge or would hit the deck cannons or missile launchers. The crashing fighter would not sink the ship, but it could cripple it and deal a lot of damage.

As the roman "kamekazes" kept hitting the wondourian fleet, the hambonians did their part.

SU-50's carrying advanced torpedoes flew in, and dropped their payload into the sea. The torpedo would direct it self slowly to a critical point on a ship and... boom.

"High admiral, Harpy four has launched their torpedoes.. Confirmed hits on three wondourian vessels, their engines have been crippled.. They are immobile."

"Finish them off".

"Yes sir".


The large battleship, "Lord of Nordenvic" turned its large cannons onto one of the immobilized ships, and fired into its magazines.

"Confirmed hits on the magazines of two of the three vessels.."

Maddox broadcasted a message to the ships..

"Your vessel is gone.. Surrender your weapons, and prepare for boarding teams, or we will sink you".

" Enemy fighters coming in hot heading in from vector 280 west," a radar operator in the Venator's CIC claimed[i]

"This is Rapier squadron we are moving in to engage them over" [i]Four Atmaeran Rafales moved into engage their targets in close combat armed with air to air weaponry they were prepared to deal with the incoming fighters

" Two more groups of fighters incoming, shit we have a third group their signature's and speed identify them as attack helicopters"A different CIC radar operator yelled

"All ships in blocks D-5 to A-1 arm your SAM's our fighter's cannot track all of the targets destroy them!" The Admiral ordered

As the destroyers launched their S-400 missiles at the enemy aircraft one by one began to disappear from radar, The Admiral had prepared of an attack by enemy aircraft before the offensive began, however he was ill prepared for...

"Sir fighters moving in at high speed, they're not part of the groups we're engaging currently, they are 1 mile and closing"

"Air squadron engage those fighters now!" The Admiral shouted

"Sir' our squadrons are currently busy engaging the original group, the enemy planes' radar profile suggests that the wings of those planes aren't carrying any weapons, sir! they're closing in" the Radar operator panicked

"Activate phalanx and flak defenses now!" Everest ordered


With the suicide fighters moving at such high speeds it was impossible for them to be making a conventional attack run with any anti ship weaponry, which surprised Atmaeran Fire Control and Radar operators, also the enemy fighters and helicopters that engaged the fleet initially had occupied a good portion of the tenth fleet's immediate defense capabilities. Five suicide fighters approached the fleet at top speeds two of them were destroyed by SAM's and phalanx fire but the other three hit their marks, One hit the Resolute's main AGS guns as well as severely damaging much of the front deck, the VLS systems were still online however and the bridge suffered slight damage, the next hit the Vindicator from a 90 degree which set off a chain reaction crippling the ship, as fires broke out and the crews evacuated the bridge which was now inoperable, the CO issued an order to abandon the rest of the ship. The third fighter struck the back end of the aircraft carrier's deck, the damage was not crippling to the carrier's operations, as fire and crashes are something that aircraft carrier deck crews need to be prepared for.

By now the Admiral had become slightly angered annoyed that the Romans would resort to such tactics, but it also revealed how desperate they truly were.

"Attention allied ships this is the Atmaeran 10th fleet enemy fighters are attempting suicide runs do not let them near your ships over" The Admiral shouted over the radio

"Good that should serve as adequate warning for New Wondour, I've had quite enough of this nonsense it's time we put an end to this naval battle." The Admiral grabbed the radio again an announced"All able ships open fire on the Hambonian fleet, all anti-ship squadrons focus your fire on them as well."

Three stealth attack submarines that were sent against the roman fleet at the start of the battle were in the perfect position to fire at the already heavily damaged aircraft carrier. They sent their MK 48 Torpedoes at the 'keel' the weakest part of any aircraft carrier, this would finally put the ship out of commission and scatter the few roman ships that remained and allow them to be picked off by the Atmaeran fleet.

As for the Hambonian fleet the Atmaeran missile Subs rose to launch depth and opened up with their anti ship missiles, the same tactic would be used the Vengeance-300 missiles would be launched in a volley initially because of their abilities at evading counter measures and large payloads, then the VLS would be launched. The Submarines then retreated to depths that disabled combat capabilities but protected them from enemy offensive capabilities. Atmaeran SAM's and air superiority fighter's focused on engaging the T-50's.

" High admiral sir! Five ships have reports of subs launching anti ship missiles! Weve lost two more ships, The HSS Estoc Has been hit and is capsizing"!

"Do we have any subs of our own"?

"Yes.. About 14 Poseidon class heavy submarines.. But they are at -2500 feet, it will take a couple minutes for them to surface.."

"Tell them to rise to -500 feet, and torpedo the hostile submarines. And have our heavy gunboats drop depth charges immediately"!

"Pinging the sonar now sir".

Meanwhile, helicopters took off from the hambonian carriers, loaded with troops. The men onboard roped onto the disabled wondourian ships, and are taking prisoners back to the HSS Claymore for interrogation.

[New Wondour]

OOC: My ships haven't even arrived at the battle yet. And you haven't even destroyed my submarines yet.

The remaining submarines got ready for battle, they all formed a separated attack pattern and returned fire. During the battle, three New Wondour submarines were destroyed. With only 7 subs remaining, the commander of the submarine pack ordered that all submarines dive to their limit depths until reinforcements arrive. New Wondour's submarines had the highest depth limit of any submarine in the world, meaning that the subs were able to stay away from enemy sonar and could evade fire from enemy submarines. Meanwhile, a small squad of 4 submarine used hit-and-run tactics on enemy submarines in order to keep them distracted from the real thread...

Top Secret port, Greece

Admiral Tucson of the Mediterranean fleet had formulated a plan on his way to the battle. He and the Artmaeran fleet would push both enemy fleets toward Greece, there the enemy would be surprised by the new prototype littoral stealth frigates, dubbed "sea stalkers". These new ships were equipped with state-of-the-art jamming equipment, encrypted communication systems and had the best silent motors to date. Their weapons included: EMP's, prototype laser weapons (these already exist, you can look them up), deck guns and advanced anti-ship and anti-air missiles. They are also undetectable by radar equipment.
Admiral Tucson sent his plan to the Atmarean admiral through a secure channel in order to ensure that the enemy would not get a hold of the plan. For now, the HMS Dawson will launch fighters to assist in the battle. A total of 25 "Gryphon" fighters will assist the battle.

The battle at sea was going quite well for both Atmaera and New Wondour, The Roman Fleet was in shambles and neutralized. However the fight against the Hambonians was just getting under way, but with just one ship inoperable and the other heavily damaged out of the eight destroyers, the Tenth fleet presses forward
Venator CIC
The CIC phone began to ring, Admiral Everest who was looking at the grid square representation of the battle that tracked ship movement snapped out of his revere and picked up the phone "Admiral, Lieutenant Briggs here in communications, we just got a coded fax on what we've identified as a secure New Woundouran channel, we're currently decoding it with the key that was sent over to us a few days ago." the officer reported

"Very well make it quick, if that message is encrypted then it must be vital" The Admiral ordered feeling a sense of curiosity that began to grow quickly

As the battle outside the CIC raged it seemed as though The Hambonians would finally launched a retaliation, Sukhoi T-50 jets rushed in, the few that managed to slip past Atmaera's ariel barrier cap positioned themselves to launch torpedoes.

Since the Hambonian's chose fighter jets to launched their Torpedoes they would have to use specific angles and distances to ensure that their Torpedoes would hit their mark. To steep an angle and the torpedoes would sink below their intended targets, and two shallow and the torpedoes would be open to machine gun fire from point defense systems like Phalanx machine guns. Similarly if the Torpedoes were dropped from far off distances it would allow Atmaeran ships plenty of time to evade, and if Torpedoes were being dropped from closer distances the planes would be easily shot down. These problems existed as far back as the advent of Torpedo warfare, and it is why the use of missiles which are faster and safer have largely supplanted them in modern warfare. Even if Torpedoes were launched with perfect distancing and angles the plane would still be extremely vulnerable and with modern defenses a torpedo can easily be destroyed or avoided.

The Atmaeran fleet demonstrated just how outdated this tactic was in modern naval warfare. As the Sukhoi t-50's swooped in they were shot down by AA fire, as well as surface to air missiles. The attack runs also made their far more maneuverable T-50's vulnerable to Atmaeran Rafales during their attack runs. However in the events that the Hambonian airforces' persistence rewarded them with a successfully launched on target torpedo The Admiral, and respective ship commanders were trained to handle such weaponry.

"All ships initiate defense tactic "Scutter", if you are unable, use the trajectories of the T-50's to predict the course of the Torpedoes and evade them, should those fail utilize our sonic torpedo defenses" The Admiral ordered cooly, knowing full well the tactical error of the Hambonians

Defense tactic scutter was the detection of torpedoes via sensors on destroyers and other naval ships at which point such information was relayed to MH-60's which were deployed around the fleet to protect against threats like submarines and in this case torpedoes. After torpedoes were being tracked by they were attacked by the helicopters using scutter torpedoes


The sonic torpedo defense equipment would release barges of high pressure sound waves should any of the above tactics failed


As the Admiral began to focus on the battle represented in the grind squares once again he received a fax in the CIC from communications upstairs. Once he read the fax which was apparently sent over by Admiral Tucson of New Wondour he smiled and said
" So this is the game they want to play, very well then I'll oblige, besides Im interested in seeing what these new ships are capable of."
The Admiral grabbed the radio and said
"All ships call of the encirclement, Maintain Crescent formation"
"Sir, I thought we were going to finish them off!?"
"The Hambonians have two choices stand, fight, and be destroyed by ships currently sneaking up behind them, or make for friendly waters in which case, if they try they won't be able to out run both our fleets and they'll run into an ambush by said ships. They are outnumbered, out maneuvered, and growing desperate, either way New Wondour should provide us with some entertainment as to how they end this. Launch another missile barrage on their ships and have the formation press forward"

"Well.. They are prototypes"..

"And were picking up a second fleet coming behind us"..


"I hate to say it.. But we lost this battle.. Set a course back to saudi".

"At once sir".

"Keep the men at battlestations, i think they're on an intercept course with us.. How many ships do we have left"?

Yemen, Arabian Peninsula

A fleet of 12 ships has been dispatched from a military port in Yemen. The fleet now heads to Africa where the Romans will start military operations there in order to expand their Empire. Already they have asked local governments to surrender upon the might of Emperor Titus, who will be leading the African Campaign together with two of his most trusted commanders, Legate Marcus Axius Piso and Legate Appius Flavius Octavanius.
The entire ground army consists of over 1,000,000 legionnaires, 1,000 tanks and armored vehicles and a small combined attack and transport helicopter force of 50 units.

In other news, the terrorist group Boko Haram has pledged their allegiance to the Roman Empire, after the nation offered them protection from foreign powers and also offered to provide weapons and supplies to the group if they would aid the Empire. In a video, the group's leader Abubakar Shekau announced the alliance and also threatened foreign powers with utter destruction. He also mentioned that the group will be more active in Africa and will expand unto Europe and America.

Africa Under Siege
With attacks coming from Nigeria by Boko Haram and an imminent invasion by the Hambonian Islands and the forces of Emperor Titus coming from Yemen, the African Continent enters one of its darkest periods since the European colonization

Africa is once again being contested by foreign powers. With invasions coming from the Hambonians and the Romans, Africa is once again under siege by foreign powers. This kind of event hasn't happened since World War II, when Italy, Nazi Germany and the United States faced off in Northern Africa for territorial supremacy.
The local governments now have urged allied powers to help them defend their homeland and to aid them fight the Jihadists coming from Nigeria.

[New Wondour]

Middle East

12 stealth drones were sent toward Roman territory. They proceeded to bomb positions in Syria and Israel, destroying city infrastructure, communication towers and military storage bases. The New Wondour Defense Ministry also reported that ISIS targets were also hit during the bombing runs. Including a training center, the Israel command center and an oil storage facility. The Ministry also reported that at least 1,000 ISIS fighters were killed during the bombings together with 500 Roman soldiers. However the Ministry did not report any civilian casualties.

Mediterranean Sea

The New Wondour Mediterranean fleet moved near the coast of Turkey, once there the fleet launched missiles which struck the coastal city of Izmir among other coastal targets. The Romans were quick to respond with artillery fire and a few patrol boats attacked the fleet, but the New Wondrians suffered little damage from the enemy counterattack.

[The Hambonian Islands]

The Hambonian imperial forces are preparing for another major part in the war. They have expanded from saudi, and are begining ti take over sudan, and Ethiopia.

Paratroopers dropped into the two countries, and fired at any opposition. The militaries of both countries surrendered, and the countries were annexed by the Empire.

Any civilians were put into prison camps, and stockades. And most of the cities and towns have become fortifications. The empire will attempt to secure the red sea, to enable supplies to arrive by sea.

Finally, oman and yemen MUST BE SECURED. To ensure enemies cant take the empire from behind. This is a critical objective.

With the north eastern part of africa under control, the area should be fully fortified for war within the next two-to-four days.

[Atmaera]

Prior to Atmaera's first official entry into the conflict in the Battle of The Mediterranean, the GAR or Grand Army of the Republic had positioned itself just outside the eastern borders of The Neo-Roman Empire. Initially these army group centers were established all along The Indian-Atmaeran(Chinese) borders, but have been expanded further into the North East as the days turned into weeks. These Army group centers were initially established as defensive positions but over the last few weeks with The Roman Empire's recent pushes into Africa in the West, they were turned into Forward Command Posts from which G.A.R would be opening a new Eastern Front in the war.

A General order went out to the Positions on the Border North East of India to harden their defenses and prepare for any sort of counter attack the enemy might take. In the mean time the F.C.P's across the Indian borders prepared to attack. Ever since the hardening of Atmaeran positions along it's shared border with the Empire, G.A.R had conducted extensive recon on the area, specifically that of the Indian Imperial province.

G.A.R under the command of Field Marshal Howell, ordered for the 2nd Army to capture the small territorial bridge between the entire Indian Province that was composed of the West Bangal and Skkim regions. This move would isolate the Indian Provinces between Tibet, Myanmar, and Atmaera territory. Meanwhile airborne division would rain in and capture the Indian provinces before moving into the rest of the India.

The Attack

Squadrons of Atmaera's stealth fighters the AV-24 Apalis streamed across Imperial held skies. Striking at AA, Artillery, and defensive positions along the border, they would allow for C-5's and C-130s to air drop the second Army's airborne tank divisions and troops. Air squadrons were encouraged to engage an occupy as much of the Roman air force as possible as this would ensure the Roman air force would be stretched thin. Meanwhile B52 Bombers began an Immediate suppression campaign against hard targets.
