Of Angels and Demons [OOC/IDEA]

Ok, I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while. Basic idea is there is this city in the middle of this almost wasteland , and two races of people live there: A race with bird wings, called angels, and another race with bat wings, called demons. heres a quick list of what the races can do, note that, ageing wise, both races are immortal:

Angels:
* Can fly very fast
* Better vision at day
* When they fold their wings up against their back an put a cloak on, they can pass for human
* Rely on swords and other weapons to fight, although they can hold their own without weapons
* Have difficulties seeing at night.
* Wings are a major organ, have several large blood vessels in them
* Are the better flyers

Demons:
* Can run on all fours and climb and free run extremely well
* Extremely powerful nightvision
* Have elongated fingernails that are poisonous.
* Thumbnail poison is a knockout and amnesia inducing drug
* have bat-like wings
* Better unarmed fighters, rely on their poison, cunning and strength to win fights
* Not very fast flyers
* Somewhat rash, have a habit of starting fights

I'll work the chinks out later, for now that'll do.

You should know by now that I use a character in many an RP who is a turned demon. As such, I couldn't resist reading the concept.

Side note (and me being a PITA): "faster then the demons" should be "faster THAN the demons."

I've actually done something similar, though I haven't really completely thought it through. In my variant, the demons and the angels are equally intelligent, but the demons are, of course, much more unruly, and therefor don't develop technology as quickly. The Angels, however, have better endurance. Like yours, my demons have venom--but, unlike yours, it comes from a barb in the demons' spaded tails, and it's a hypnotic narcotic. The Angels, however, have a specialized, living armor that the Demons can't match...but the Demons are magic users, and, though the Angels are quite good with subtle spells, the Demons are masters of things like fireballs, which give them a firepower advantage that makes confrontations almost even. A skilled Demon can deal with the Angels, and a skilled Angel can make the Demons regret the day that they came into existence.

Being told from the perspective of a turned Demon, the Angels are described as fascists, ganging up on and beating up on the poor, defenseless Demons. We all know, however, that this is a SLIGHT exaggeration.

How do the two concepts compare?

Thank you, BTW, for NOT turning my friendly compare-and-contrast into a testosterone-spraying contest. You don't know how much it annoys me when I try to share ideas and the other person takes it as a challenge. I REALLY appreciate it that you chose to take my offering in the spirit in which it was intended.

There was an omission in my original post. Before "Angels have better endurance," I should have written "Demons have a faster metabolism, which makes them better fliers until they start to wear out." (Actually, it's a variable metabolism that the act of flight makes faster. That way, they don't need to eat so much that they all starve.)

The other thing that is "special" about my demons is that they reproduce by laying and fertilizing eggs inside of a host body. Gives new meaning to the term "oral sex." The Angels are very private about their birthing process. No one really knows just how it happens. Some even say that their children are all delivered by specially-trained storks.

So tell me...do any of your Angels fall? Do your Demons turn? How do they interact?

Sounds interseting but I'm not sure (Hav'nt done a fantasy RP before). Also would this RP include humans, if so perhaps there could be half-angels or half-demons. Just a thought.

Hmmm....yes, there will be humans, and, logically, there would be half demons and half angels. They would be very rare though.

As for the whole falling-turning thing, I was more thinking that there was a group of both that built the city and over a few thousand years got to the point that the RP starts at.

History: Joshua is a cityguard, a warrior who acts as a law enforcement and soldier all in one. He doesn't particularly talk about his past, along he does say that he is extremely young for an Angel. One theory behind his silence about his past is his black wings, which some consider to be a omen of a horrible fate.
Likes: His hideaway in the Wasteland, his job, being alone
Dislikes: Nosey people, people who can't take a hint, those who attack innocents

Race: Demon
Age: Unknown/Uncountable

History: Inferi's history is mostly unknown. All that is known is that he is by far the oldest Demon in existence, and by default the leader of the Demon race. Not a very nice character.

Dislikes: Those who don't listen to him, those who try to ask him about his past.

Looks most interesting and you can count me in either way, but first I have a question...

Is this city a modern, skyscraper alleyway filled affair constructed by humans and taken over by angels and demons at some indetermined point in the past OR is it a Roman meets Catholic city which we presume to have once been glorious but is now succumbing to decay and ruining.. or somethign else, I can get a better feel for the kind of character i'd put in depending on the setting.

Wings: white /platinum/ silver, with indigo, cobalt, and slate bandings at the tips.
Innate Powers / Abilities:

1) Wings/ Flight: and the associated bio-adaptations

2) Enhanced Senses: Eyes are pupiled like a cat, and able to see in even very minimal light conditions, and ability to see exceptionaly far distances. Highly Acute hearing and very acute sense of smell- the ability to smell pheromones/ emotional states- this can also be a danger/ hazzard as well. Taste and touch also enhanced. Highly accurate chronological sense, and ability to sense changes in weather. Like many animals, she can sense the minute changes in the planet that precede an earthquake or volcanic eruption.

3) The 'Light' : a form of her - or another's - bio energy that can be used as a weapon to injure or even kill others. She 'casts' it as small jagged, irregularly shaped 'shards' of purple light. She must use her own energies, or draw from another living being close to her. She refuses to weaken another to death - or herself - so her ability to cast these shards is 'self' limited.

4) Telepathy : she can read and send thoughts to some minds but not all, and specifically not the undead of any sort. Her range is limited and intense emotional states can warp it until all that she can do is sense the emotions flowing about her, but not control or direct them. This also can give her monsterous migrain headaches, to the point of completely disableing her, and thusly she does not do this lightly or often.

5) Summon Weapons : She can summon her weapons to her hand, as if from thin air, and send them back once they are no longer needed. These weapons consist of a Naginata, a Crystal Sword, and numerous Chakrams, all of which she is an expert with.

History: Unknown really - she has no memory past awakening weeks after being found all but dead on the field of a considerable battle - the numerous, fumeing remains that littered the ground about where she fell were demonic - but her body also bore a littany of torture, starvation, and long captivity. She has since healed but her memory has not returned. She does not have much majical ability, though she does well with what minor spells she has. Doesn't talk much, not good with idle conversations.
Likes: cats, reading, singing, being alone, flying - her flighted skills are most impressive - in speed, endurance but especially maneuverability - she uses her chakrams, naginata and crystal sword very effectively especially in aerial combat.
Dislikes: Demons, drunks, but especially bullies

Age: over 6,000 years old (as a daemon, 6,025 including human years)

Physical Description: Slited pupils, long white hair, long scar over his right eye, often dressed in long, black cloathing such as trench coats.
History: Ajjaran was born 6,025 years ago to a mason and his wife, who was working on rebuilding a building that had been destroyed in a riot and never left. At the age of 25 Ajjaran qualifyed as an architect and used his farther to get the supplies he needed. Unfortunately Ajjaran was killed shortly after qualifying, while he was with a friend adding the finishing touches to a crypt for a mysterious contracter. He reimerged later that year and began a killing spree before fleeing in search of other daemons, suceeding after 500 more years.
Likes:Sluaghtering for no real reason, plucking the feathers from the wings of angels, flute music, cake.
Dislikes: insolent worms, mortals/ humans, getting blod out of his hair after the senseless slaughterings, pie.
