Task Force Atlas - Direct Action Mission

Operation Map

Soundtrack - Speed up 1.25

"The Hunt for the Prophet and his benefactors is growing tirelessly, with various intelligence agencies supporting Task Force Atlas and their venture. As of recently, our efforts have gone to shit, with the Prophet cleverly burying his trail wherever he goes. However, he was not as thorough as he would have liked to be. Intelligence has tracked one of his benefactors all the way to Asia; Leviathan Technologies and Logistics Corporation. Members of his organization have hidden themselves away within this company, and having already been a front for distribution of illegal weapons across the world, were able to move assets quickly and discreetly to the supply points designated by the Prophet’s forces. Agents tracked most of the shipments to random areas in the Middle East and East Africa, though these have mostly proven to be small caches of weapons and supplies. However, the most recent shipment is most alarming.

It is carrying a unit of Leviathan’s newest AI Platform; the Sabre Advanced Security System... except, it’s not for ordinary police duty. It is nothing short of a military death machine. The Prophet’s insiders were barely able to sneak it past international forces, but as of yesterday, intelligence has tracked en route to a major underground shipping hub in Eastern Europa. Elite members of the Leviathan Security forces and the Prophet’s personal guard will be overseeing the handoff and payment. It doesn’t stop there, Atlas.

Recently, we’ve gotten wind of a major benefactor to the Prophet’s organization: The Ex-Soviet Satellite State of Odyssa. They too will be overseeing the handoff, and will be providing heavy security around the hub. Any evidence of contact between Atlas and these national forces will invoke an international incident involving every nation supporting Atlas. It is imperative that all living souls at that exchange are extinguished, and the area obliterated to deter any curious eye. It has also been made clear to us that one of the Prophet's top men, Mohandes (The Engineer), will be personally overseeing the handoff.

Insertion points are marked on the map, radiation gear is unnecessary. Your targets will be armed with standard ballistic firearms; though use caution around the Leviathan Security Forces. They’re armed with Leviathan ARX-160s, chambered to fire specialized cartridges which deliver a lethal electric shock where-ever they strike you. One to the chest is enough to send you into cardiac arrest, and any to the limbs will just about disable it for the rest of the mission; advise thick armor or none at all. You may want your first priority to be eliminating them. And should one of the machines be activated, be ready for a long fight. Advise taking anti-armor provisions. Outside support is a negative on this one.

Your objective, Atlas, is relatively simple. Neutralize all parties attending the exchange, plant explosives on the shipment, and ensure the cargo is successfully disabled. Priority is Mohandes and the shipment. If those machines were to be unleashed upon any civilian population, the casualties would mount to unimaginable levels; regardless of immediate military response. I trust you won’t let that happen. Good luck Atlas.

Lennox, out.”

- Briefing End -

Insertion Point Alpha - Operation Start

Participating on this mission were numerous teams of Task Force Atlas; including Coalition SOC Special Projects and UDT/SEAL Team 7. The SEALs landed via HALO drop, alongside two SPU Members. Team 7 as a whole participated, with Captain Kate Donovan and Tech Sergeant Dee-Jay of the Special Projects Unit. Alongside the teams was a USSD MULE, carrying various Anti Armor provisions, though it stayed hidden at Insertion Alpha for the duration of the mission, barely following the teams. Once on the ground, the teams wasted no time positioning themselves strategically, and awaiting the other teams’ arrivals. Frost entered one of the ransacked buildings, and took up vantage with his rifle on the roof. Once set up, he had view of most of the enemy patrols around the area. Locke and the rest of the SEALs stacked up behind a pile of rubble, with a clear view of a cross section needed to get into the courtyard. The Shipment Containers were easily seen, on the far right of the courtyard. The two SPU personnel stayed with the SEALs, but moved a bit further ahead.

Frost adjusted the scope on his rifle to get a better zoom Mohandes’ head. Through the directional microphone on his scope, he could make out the conversation between him and the Leviathan Security Leader. They were not happy. With his limited understanding of Russian, Frost was able to make out details about a payment. Evidently there was a miscommunication in the deal. Mohandes had not paid in full, and Leviathan had threatened to leave with the cargo. The Odyssan Squad Leader chimed in, saying it was necessary for compromise. That they couldn't complete their objective without the support of the machinery. The Leviathan Security Leader argued that the given payment was just short of what the contract had detailed.

The arguing would provide Atlas with much needed additional time.

‘Well,’ Frost thought, adjusting the scope towards the various patrols, ‘ain’t the Devil in the details.’

“Frost, status on patrols?” Locke whispered through the comms, “We cleared to move up?”

“Hold on, you have two stragglers.” Frost marked them using his rifle’s tracer function. They appeared shortly after upon the UDT/SEALs’ Heads-Up Displays.

“Rog, will move to terminate.” Locke acknowledged. “Shep, get a beat on the right, Preach, take the left. I’ll watch for additional patrols.”

Without hesitation, two silenced shots went out, dropping the stragglers.

‘Poor blokes probably just wanted a cigarette.’ Shepard thought to himself.

“Kill confirmed,” Preacher muttered.

Donovan moved up, securing her rifle across her back as she maneuvered through a pile of burnt out cars and rubble. Eventually, she was at the top of an old building. She held out a monocular, and scoped the rest of the courtyard out.

“I’ve got 8 Security, 12 of the Prophet’s boys, and… shit… can’t even tell how many Ruskies we’re facing. Count at least 15, more inside the surrounding architecture.”

“Best COA, sir?” Dee-jay turned around, facing Locke.

“Wait for additional teams to land.” Locke motioned towards the surrounding buildings. “Be vigilant, we need to be ready incase they notice us.”

“Aye sir.” Dee-jay pulled his comm's closer to his face. "Be advised, all Atlas units, this is Stryker 1-1, will be holding position until reinforcement arrives. Too many to take on alone."

The Recon Corps were the only team assigned to this mission. The CMT made up of the Scytale sisters needed more than a days notice to prepare an adequate array of sniping nests to move through should the targets move without getting a shot. That, and they were generally made for more precise and skilled takedowns, not risking it for assaults. With the UDT/SEALs already taking care of the sniping role, there wasn't much need for the lamias. Still, the Alpha 1 of the Recon Corps inserted through Bravo and began clearing a way to the objective. Though more resilient against radiation than the average human, they still stay out of the hot zones. There was no need to soak it up if they didn't have to.

Alpha 1 had walked all the way in from landing at a remote location off some many many miles away, as they wanted to get there as quietly as possible. As they entered, Sergeant Pitt rallied the squad around.

"Fall in fer a sec, ladies." She said as she crouched down and cued her radio in. Now that they had infiltrated the AO, they needed to pave the way like the pathfinders they were for the other units.

"Team 7, come in. This is Romeo Charlie, Alpha 1 Actual. We've reached the insertion point and so far have negative contact. Don't know where the other teams are, but we'll hold short just up ahead to give them some room, over."

Pitt signaled to Sommer and Alekhin to go scout ahead while she, Starke, and Zwieg holed up in the nearest abandoned building.

"This shit had better work..." Pitt sighed as she and the other two got comfy and drank some water. Starke started tending to an MRE while Zweig kept lookout.

Sommer and Alekhin kept to the alleys and shadows as they listened for any signs of activity ahead.

Atlas - Status - Green

“Atlas 1-1, roger that Alpha. Be advised, we’re on the clock, see if you can get a beat on Target.” Locke said into his comms, moving slowly up through cover of brush and taking shelter under an abandoned hippie bus.
The cloud coverage above thickened a bit, making it difficult for aerial surveillance to get through. The teams would have to rely on their own line of sight from here on out.

“Atlas 1-2 here,” Frost took up the comms, “Alpha 1-Actual, have eyes on Leviathan Security contacts North East of your position, they must have picked up interference on radar. Seems they’ve disconnected from the main group; deal with them as you see fit.” He surveyed them with his scope, once more.

Opposing Force - Status - Caution

Two members of the Leviathan security detail climbed over a fence, taking them into an alley way just north of Insertion Bravo. Their helmets had picked up minimal disturbance on soliton, and with Mohandes already paranoid about the situation, had them dispatched to the location. The bright blue lasers emitted from the specialized PEQ boxes on their 160s scanned the area, as they moved slowly through the rubble and abandoned cars dotting the alley way. Within moments, they’d be in the line of sight of the Recon Corps.

Unbeknownst to the Atlas Teams, an Odyssan Spetsnaz Scout Sniper had taken up position in the far north building infront of Insertion Point Bravo, and set up post in the position. He hadn’t seen any movement yet, as he surveyed the far West of the rectangular-shaped perimeter. It was likely he had been sent to cover for the Leviathan Security members.

“Vostov 1-3 reporting,” He started, “No sign of enemy contact, will keep you posted, Vostov 1-1 Actual.”

Across the way, at Insertion Point Alpha, 3 members of the Odyssan Spetsnaz Guard had been dispatched to one of the burnt out shelters. They had also picked up slight interference, thought they lacked the advanced Leviathan Soliton radar and simply moved to survey the situation. Fortunately, they had no intentions of a thorough search, and were used to these small detections being wildlife; dogs mostly.

“This is Red Wolf 1-1, no sign of enemy contact.” One of them said into his radio. “However, we’ll maintain overwatch here.” He ordered his men into the surrounding fortifications, and they buckled down within the buildings. However, they could easily be seen from the windows.

Any teams inserting at Alpha would need to be cautious of Spetsnaz presence in the two buildings farest North of Alpha. Mohandes seemed to be calming down. The Deal was closer to being finished. Frost could hear him a bit more before he was cut off by them entering a building; they were planning to activate one of the bots for a test run once the deal had been finished.

Atlas - Status - Green

“We’ve got trouble.” Dee-jay pointed out to Locke.

“Shit, they’re smart.” Dante muttered.

“But we’re smarter.” Locke said, turning to Dante. “Get to a hard point and get trained on that building. If shit gets heavy you lay down suppressing fire to give us a chance to hit back.”

“Yes sir.” Dante stood and made his way to an old T-52 body, it appearing to have been dismantled by its previous owners. It made perfect cover. Through their HUDs, they saw Dante’s PEQ laser upon the building; they were secure to move for now.

Preacher and Sheppard moved up. Preacher loaded a smoke grenade into his launcher, and Sheppard followed suit. They were ready to distract the enemy if a firefight began. Locke stayed behind, his rifle trained on the building.

“Atlas 1-1 to all Teams. Avoid engagement if possible, but eliminate a threat if you absolutely need to.”

OOC: This can go either way; a firefight would allow us to take out the cargo quicker but the contents may be activated in retaliation. A stealth mission would become increasingly difficult and with the opfor setting up in various buildings, could end for the worst.

Insertion Point Charlie

During the extremely early hours of the morning, 3S had situated itself in the sewers below the massive structure they were to infiltrate, where the operators were to wait until the other teams arrived. It was uneventful the entire ordeal, with only the occasional chatter of the people on the floors above. There was no complaining, despite the smell and the humidity of the sewers they waited in. But there was some worry from one of the men, who was carrying all the demolition that would be used during the operation.

If it gets any wetter in here, these construction blocks won't blow so well... Bellarus looked at him, noticing the distress on Budiman's face. "They're in your bag, don't worry." The demolitions expert nodded, and continued to stay alert, but his eyes still read anxiousness.

The team was equipped mostly with SMAR-1 shoulder-mounted assault rifles, with only Le-Croux carrying an SMBR-1 battlerifle. Anti-armor was supplemented with underbarrel grenade launchers, but otherwise they would rely on straying away from armored targets. Should the need arise that they enter a firefight, several rounds of small 40mm thermobaric grenades for their launchers should suffice in terms of fire support.

Carefully, Bellarus activated the radio set, a small but powerful device which crackled a bit to turn on. Luckily, it did not echo through the tunnel. "Arctus-1 to Team 7, we're ready to move, over." The other four got up at the ready, making sure nothing was left behind before they moved deeper into the tunnel. Launchers were checked, and sights were quickly calibrated once more. This was of course their first operation with Atlas, so they had to prove themselves more than capable.

“Arctus 1-1, be advised you’ve got hostile movement directly above.” Frost responded, “Two footmobiles, they’re focusing on you.”

Locke ordered his team forward, with Dee-jay and Donovan leading the way. Donovan held out her IDroid, and surveyed the last aerial intelligence they had gotten.

“Sir, cargo is being unloaded.” She said, concerned.

“Godfather 1-1, this is Atlas. We’ve got unconfirmed reports of the Cargo being opened.” Dee-jay called through his comms. “What’s our COA?”

“Godfather 1-1 to all Atlas Teams,” Lennox started. “It’ll take some time to get the hardware calibrated. Make some moves, dammit, once they activate it your cover is blown. Other teams are inserting as we speak; but you go in alone if you have to.”

Locke stayed silent for a moment. He turned on his comms after contemplating their actions for a moment.

"Atlas, we're on the clock."

Opposing Force - Status - Caution

The Leviathan Operatives stopped, near a small manhole covered by woodland. They were examining the area heavily, both appeared to be observing the area. One broke the silence,

“Megalith here, we’ve definitely got movement here!” He said, both of them immediately kneeling and surveying the area with their 160s.

“Megalith – you are to hold your position and watch for any movement. Remember, the radiation spikes in the area will interfere with your equipment; if there’s no additional activity for 5 mikes, report back to the main area.”

Team HellBent Squad Romeo
Captain Benjamin Swallow and the rest of Squad Romeo carefully made their way through Insertion Point Bravo. Squad Romeo was the most advanced of Team HellBent's forces, hooked up to their own state-of-the-art government AI - F.O.R.T.R.E.S.S. (OOC: Factbook Details Coming Soon), along with what came close to (not quite) power armor.
Image

"Fortress, scan for hostiles." The Captain's voice was deep and robot-like when coming through the microphone of the armor.
Scanning, Captain... Fortress's monotone voice echoed through the Captain's armor. His eye-lenses were switched to infrared by Fortress, then back to normal.
Path clear of hostiles. ONFIELDID-ATLAS.RECONCORPS recognized. GreenCon activated.
Outlines of the members of Recon Corps appeared in green. Squad Romeo continued forward, guns out.
"Fortress, establish communications with Recon Corps."
Affirmative.
Fortress established a link, with a notification appearing on the Captain's HUD.
"Attention Recon Corps. This is Captain Swallow of ATLAS Squad Romeo, REGT Origin. We have just inserted at Bravo, and we are making our way towards the building. We are essentially heavy cavalry, any help to clear a path for our charge would be appreciated. Out"
One down-side of the very strong armor was that it was rather heavy, so once Squad Romeo got moving, it was difficult for them to stop. Thus, they were moving slowly as much as possible.

Caution

"Shiiiiiiiiiit..." Pitt cursed when she saw the heavy artillery roll in. That was exactly what they didn't need right now.

"What kind of name is "Swallow"?" Zwieg giggled a bit.

"Stow that shit and let's go, Private." Pitt growled, moving to the other end of the building. She paused for a second and looked to Starke, who was sitting on the ground with an MRE out. "Secure that shit and get ready. This ain't a camping trip."

Starke stuffed the last of a power bar into her gullet before stuffing the rest in her dump pouch, thankful she didn't open up anything else. She paused to wash her snack down with some water from her canteen. Pitt watched the two hostiles moving around at the end of the open area. The glint of a sniper's scope tipped her off to the lookout, causing her to mutter a curse under her breath as she realized that walking out there wasn't going to be the best way to stay alive. She cued her mic.

"Sommer, Alekhin. As of now, you're on your own. Whatever you do, get to objective and make sure you aren't spotted, over."

She waited before the blonde Corporal sent back a quick "Roger" in acknowledgement. After that, a quick look around of the ruined building produced a large bookshelf that looked like it could be used as a distraction very easily.

"Romeo, advise you hold short and get comfy. We've got a lookout over the area and we don't need to get compromised right now. Interrogative, is there any place you can stow yourselves without hindering your movement, over?"

As Pitt spoke, she kicked over the large bookshelf. It crashed down inside the building and blew dust everywhere. The Sergeant signaled for Starke and Zweig to hide as she went out and hid under a hollow staircase. Hopefully, this would attract the two other guards. Sommer and Alekhin heard the part about the lookout, and nodded to each other. The others should handle it, not them. For now, they got low and waited for the two guards ahead to move past.

Opposing Force - Status - Alert

One of the Leviathan Operatives looked up, alerted.

“I think I’ve got contact!” He called out, raising his 160 in the direction of his radar alert. “Possible heavily armed hostiles in the vicinity.” His view was obstructed by much flora and abandoned vehicles.

His partner turned to cover his six.

“Megalith to all units, we may have contact. Secure your position and make sure nothing gets through!” He said, checking the alley way for targets.

“This is Vostov 1-3, I’ve got movement north.” He sighted in on a cloud of dust arising from one of the buildings. “Megalith, move up.”

“AC/DC reporting, I’m dispatching two more security members to your location, survey that area and report back.” Another Security operator reported through comms.

Two more security personnel along with a small quadcopter moved swiftly down the alley, and set up covering Megalith’s six. Their blue lasers scanned the area, narrowly avoiding the GAmetopian team. They maintained their position as Megalith slowly made their way down the area, though halting once they heard a loud crashing noise above.

Mohandes was now panicked, he shook one of the engineers violently, demanding he activate one of the Sabres. He was assured one would be turned on in no time, it would only be 2 minutes more. Being factory fresh, they needed to be calibrated to differentiate friendly and foe. The XIFF Affiliation of the Leviathan Security was the only one input into the command module; any sooner, and the Sabre would gun down Odyssan and Prophet Force alike.

“This is Red Wolf, we’re maintaining overwatch!”

Atlas - Status - Green

Frost adjusted his rifle to mark out the Leviathan personnel using his tracers. They appeared on the UDT/SEAL team’s HUDs.

“Preacher, Shepard, get to a survey point, be ready to move into assist if they need it.” Locke ordered. “One of you, get Red Phosphorus loaded.”

Sheppard nodded, acknowledging the order, and patted Preacher on the helmet; he exchanged the smoke round currently in his UBGL for a Red Phosphorus round.

“Frost, get eyes on enemy footmobiles near Bravo, be ready to coordinate a take down.”

“On target.” Frost responded, his scope landing on the closest Security member to the teams.

“Be ready to engage.”

OOC: You can still pull off a stealth mission. Move quickly; regardless.

Bolivia Streets - Theme of Recon Corps Alpha 1
"Shit! If we make it outta this alive, Romeo. You're buyin' drinks." Pitt grumbled as she moved along to the doorway. "Sommer, Alekhin. They're takin' notice. Whatever you're gonna do, do it fast, over!"

While Pitt, Starke, and Zwieg kept low and waited, Sommer and Alekhin started ducking into buildings to bound into range of the objective.

"Team 7, this is Alpha 1-2. Be advised, friendlies moving into the objective zone. Check your targets, over." She said as she and Alekhin did their best to clear while on the move. They avoided all contact and direct routes they could, and with their hearing it was easier.

"We're inside the engagement area." Sommer said to Alekhin. They both nodded and switched to semi-auto on their carbines before stepping into the Southern building in the objective zone. Their ears twitched and perked, swiveling ever so slightly as they walked forward, picking up and and all sounds that were coming in. They ducked low and went about the infiltration, but security was packed. They did the usual knife tricks and made sure anyone shot was dragged out of the way, but that was the easy part. Now they had to stop the deal from going more South, and if the building's security was tight still after just three guards getting taken out, the main area was a deathtrap.

"Team 7, we can confirm the kill from here if you can take the shot. We'll grab their attention after you to give you some cover, but we can't hang here long, over."

Alekhin kept an eye on the doorway as Sommer looked out into the street.

3S had finally reached the end of the tunnel, leading up to a manhole cover. "Sir, I've got movement above..." Greenman reported. Bellarus nodded, and pointed at Budiman and Walthers. "You're up. Make sure those guns are suppressed." Both of them put thumbs up, and placed their bags onto the floor, with only weapons in their hands.

They stood back-to-back at the bottom of the hole, and it appeared that the two of them might be able to do this. "3...2...1..." They pressed against each others' backs, and began to slowly attach their feet to the walls, a difficult process that needed synchronization and a steady heart. Once that had been reached, they began to move up as fast as possible without producing to much noise.

After half a minute, they were both facing the manhole cover, and if there was movement up above, then they'd need a quick opening. Budiman began applying putty to a part of the cover. "Hey Budi, you know if we lose balance, we're going to have a nasty fall right?..." "...Shut the fuck up, Walthers..." The putty was set, and they went down a few steps, lest they blow their faces off.

Budiman pulled out the trigger, and when the moment was right, he pressed the button, the putty detonating with enough force to push the manhole cover onto its side, and they ran up the hole very quickly with guns primed. Both could see an enemy each, and with a rapid triple 'pew', both were knocked out.

A pebble dropped to the tunnels below, and Bellarus turned the radio back on. "Arctus-1 to Alpha-1, we're on the surface, over." Budiman and Walthers climbed back down, with the ladder this time, and they picked up their small packs before going up once more. The rest of the team followed, and once finding their bearings, they made a quick dash towards the building that was holding up Recon Squad. They kept to the shadows of the trees for this, and within a minute, they had arrived at the rear entrance. "Arctus-1 to Alpha-1, we've reached the building, over."

"Oh fuck." Captain Swallow cursed when he saw the security force.
"Fortress, plot a course of action. Parameters: Take Down AND Silent AND Quick."
Parameters engaged. Plotting... A red line appeared on the HUDs of the team, highlighting the projected path of the enemy. Right now, their only possible movement was into Recon Force's building.
Plotting Cause-Effect... Both the Captain's carbine and a big rock on the ground were highlighted in yellow.
Warning! Option A: Firearm could result in detection and Option B: Boulder could result in lack of notice at all. Proceed with caution.
Benjamin signaled the team, and with efficient movements aided by the exoskeleton of the armor, they pressed themselves to the wall of the building directly to the north-east of insertion point Bravo. Benjamin picked up a rather large boulder and threw it hard at the ground, creating a loud thunk.
"Corporal, prepare two knockout doses. Lethal force authorized but no firearms if possible."
They laid in wait for the two and their quadcopter.

OOC: Good job on taking out the two blokes by the manhole, but you forgot to take out their friends. Don't worry though, a firefight was inevitable. Direct Action tests your soldier's ability to operate under extreme pressure and radically changing scenarios.

Take them down Atlas

Opposing Force - Status - Engaged

“Megali— GAHK!” A suppressed burst cut off the operative. Another took down his partner.

“Shit!” One of the Security members took cover behind the alleyway, and pressed his comms closer to his face. “Megalith is down, we are engaged! I say again, we are engaged!” He stayed put, though the other operative moved down the field wtih the quadcoptor following closely.

"I think I've got contact over here," He said, moving towards the Gametopian team.

“AC/DC to all units, prepare for combat! Secure your positions!” Another operative called over the comms.

“Vostov 1-3 here! I have eyes on ene—ACK!” The Spetsnaz sniper attempted calling out positions of the Recon Corps ‘ last known location, but was quickly silenced as a SABOT armor piercing round passed clean through his scope and into his forehead. His rifle dropped from the upper windows, followed by him.

“We may have a sniper, Red Wolf is moving to investigate!” The Spetsnaz team near Insertion Alpha reported, beginning their descent from the building.

Mohandes was sent into a frenzy. He grabbed the Leviathan Engineer by the shoulders, and shook him violently. The Engineer’s work was interrupted, causing a data error to appear on the screen.

“You’re going to activate this NOW!” Mohandes screamed into the Engineer’s face, angry and scared at the same time.

“You want your boys turned to chow by this thing’s guns?!” The engineer retorted, shoving Mohandes off. “Let me finish ma’ ghat damn work!”

“I swear I could kill you this very instan—“ Mohandes said, cut off by an Odyssan Spetsnaz Commander.

“Let him work, and we will see victory on many fields this day.” He assured him, then picked up his AK-12 and moved outside. “All Vostov and Red Wolf units, be on the lookout for intrusion!”

“All of you, get to f*cking work!” Mohandes called to his Security personnel, who took up position around the courtyard. They were all of Slavic descent, and appeared to be Ex-Spetsnaz themselves. It explains the presence of Odyssa’s military.

“Activation Sequence – Green. Preparing Diagnostic Scans.” A Feminine Voice reported from one of the cargo containers. “Please be Patient.”

Atlas - Status - Green

“Dammit, we may be compromised!” Donovan growled, spotting the Spetsnaz repelling from the northern building. “Locke, got any ideas?!”

“Dante, cleared to engage. Hit them while they have their backs turned to us!” Locke ordered, “Recon Corps , they’re still ignorant of your presence, see if you can hit the Spetsnaz Forces approaching Bravo!”

“Bout time.” Dante grumbled, flipping the safety off and going to work on the Spetsnaz force.
Locke turned to Dee-jay,

“You and Donovan get to the courtyard through these buildings. I need you ready to take out the containers ASAP.” He said, tapping his comms. “Take a Launcher from the MULE and hit em hard!”

“Oorah.” Dee-jay smirked, finally getting to use the big guns. He and Donovan promptly made their way to the building adjacent to the Recon Corps’, through an open field. Though covered by Dante’s fire, one of the Prophet’s security managed to catch sight of them.

“Well…shit.” Frost noted, turning his rifle to the cargo, and hearing the feminine speech. “Double time it guys, one of them is starting up!”

The comms on Atlas’ radios lit up however.

“Atlas, we’re getting Heavy Odyssan chatter on our end. You need to work fast; they may be dispatching recon to the area! If you’re caught, we’re looking at an international incident which will strike every nation as part of the Task Force. Be advised, clock’s ticking, you are all cleared to engage. Lennox out!”

As the operative walked towards Squad Romeo, Captain Swallow crouched, said quietly
"Alpha takedown shoot down beta when Alpha is down," and he leapt at the man, tackling him and grabbing him in a headlock, quickly snapping his neck. The other Squad Romeo operatives stepped out into the open, most of them quickly shooting the quadcopter down while one shot the other man in the neck, silencing his reports. The quadcopter sank to the ground, showering the ground with sparks.
"Atlas, the two and their quadcopter are down. Clear all hostiles and proceed to target."
They started to steadily jog towards the building, weapons out.

"Well, looks like we awoke the slumbering beast, 3S," Bellarus muttered, and he began giving quick hand gestures. Full skirmish order, no delay, move. They moved out of their cover, and Bellarus saw as a single member of security began moving towards the Gametopian helicopter. Le-Croux, take the shot. The girl took her aim quickly, and switched to semi-automatic. There was a single 'pew', dropping the body to the ground with a soft thud.

No more delays, go. They continued their dash towards the objective, sticking to the treeline and moving in the shadows.

"Sniper's down, we're clear. Go." Pitt stated as she made a circling motion with her two fingers signaling to fall-in.

The three moved fast along the alleyway and eventually made it into the building with Sommer and Alekhin. One of the other troopers was about to go down and check what was taking his buddy so long to reply when Pitt dashed in. Poor guy didn't see Zweig running behind her, but Starke was quick and made a shot on him. His body fell on top of her friend without much noise.

"Wow, nice catch."

Zwieg only grumbled in response Starke's deadpan humor. The five of them looked out into the courtyard and listened.

"What do we do now, Sarn't?" Sommer asked.

"Well, a forward assault seems like out only option at this point, but we'll get chewed up if we go out on our own."

"What's the plan, then?"

"Let's try flashbangs and grenades as we move up. Engage the immediate targets and get to cover. We'll take it easy but we gotta move fast. Make sure that guy on the computer stays alive. He may have good intel. Alright, go!"

Sergeant Pitt watched as Sommer and Zwieg both bolted. One out of the hallway and the other out the window. They engaged the first two targets they saw as they ran for cover. After that, Alekhin and Starke made their way out and split off in a different direction for cover to confuse and disorient them with crossfire. As this was going on, Pitt took a knee for the radio one last time.

"Team 7, this is Alpha 1 Actual. My girls and I are moving into the courtyard. Love to have our asses covered, over." She transmitted before following in. She prepped a flashbang and chucked it.

"Flash out!" She shouted before the girls instinctively winced. Even if it was a good distance, the noise was bothersome. As soon as it went off, Sommer threw an M67 while the others opened fire and different targets. It was like an orchestral performance as each engaged a separate target without faltering into their comrade's without a word spoken.

Opposing Force - Status - Engaged

“This is Red Wo—HUAGH!” The Odyssan Spetsnaz operator screeched as he was filled up from the neck down with lead, and collapsed from the two story building. His teammates suffered a similar fate.

"We're being engaged at all angles! Someone get Moh--ack!" One of the Leviathan operators dropped as bullets shredded his throat area. One of his friends dragged him back.

"This is Valkyrie 2-2! I've got eyes on hostile contacts! Moving to engage!" Two Leviathan Operatives burst from their cover infront of Squad Romeo. They fired in quick bursts upon the team, edging from cover to cover piece, getting closer and managing to close the distance. Their sidearms (operated by remote arm) plinked away at them as well.

Mohandes grit his teeth, clutching an AK-12 in the corner of the old hangar. He saw as the Engineer from Leviathan sped up his keyboard tapping, before finally sitting back and giving a sigh of relief. He stood and attempted to make his way back to the hangar, before a misfire occured and he was struck by rounds from a Leviathan 160. Mohandes saw his legs lock up as bolts of electricity shot through, and he just collapsed.

Fortunately for him, he escaped the inevitable cardiac arrest. Though he would be paralyzed for some time.

Atlas - Status - Caution (1 Injury)

“Atlas 1-1 Actual to all Atlas Forces in vicinity, engage at will.” Locke called into his comms, pulling up his CARB and sprinting into action. “Preacher, cut off their vision!”

“On it.” Preacher said, firing the Red Phosphorus round into the courtyard, effectively blinding the Leviathan Security’s visors and everyone else’s vision.

“’Ey Recon Corps, now’s the time to make use of those ridiculous appendages of yours! We’re as blind as them in there!” Sheppard called from the north of Insertion Alpha, before turning and nailing two of the Prophets men with 3 shots in the chest per. “Atlas, we’re moving in, watch for friendlies!”

UDT/SEAL Team 7 moved in, swiftly getting into an engagement with the Odyssan Spetsnaz and Prophet’s security forces.

Frost took out multiple targets at his leisure, none being able to track the shots.

“Mark em, and I’ll hit em.” He said over his comms. ( OOC: You may mark targets and have them killed in the same post by Frost. )

“Atlas, it’s kill or capture for Mohandes, your choice.” Lennox called over the comms, “Make sure you do it fast.”

Donovan and Dee-jay dashed into a sprint towards the Cargo Containers, narrowly avoiding gunfire as they slid into position behind them.

“All Atlas units, we’re at the target. I say again, we’re at the target.” Dee-jay reported, “Kate, you better get these explosives planted ASAP.” He pulled up his ACR, and fired in bursts to take down approaching Spetsnaz personnel. Bullets raddled and smacked across the wall he hid behind. Rounds plinked off of the military cargo crate, it was definitely sturdy cover.

Donovan slid the explosive out of her pack, and attached it firmly to the crate. She began imputing the code when a ricochet round plinked off of the container and landed deep into her thigh. She yelled a curse as blood splattered onto the ground she knelt on, quickly punching in the remaining code upon the explosive.

“Almost done, ngh—just gotta wait for the countdown to start..”

There was a loud bang within the crate. It wasn't caused by the explosive; it hadn't even started its count down.

“Atlas, clear the remaining hostiles.”

OOC: It's getting dangerous, Atlas.

3S had reached the objective without retaliation, and found Mohandes sprawled on the floor with his legs stuck together. "Confirmed, Mohandes is on the ground." The team surrounded the body, and kept their guns pointed away from it, leaving Bellarus to make the call. "Let's take him in. A dead man in no use to anyone, he can disable the bots, even if we have to literally suck the info out of his head." He tapped Greenman's shoulder, giving him the signal to take the body with them. He acknowledged, slinging his rifle, and carrying Mohandes on his shoulders. The rest of the team stood at their guard, and fired on anyone that "Arctus 1-1 to Team 7, we're taking Mohandes back to Insertion Point Charlie, over."

Bellarus lead the group back from where they came, Greenman right behind him as the others covered their retreat.

"Ridiculous?! Why I oughta-"

"Lock it, Alekhin!"

The going was slow, but now Alpha 1 had the advantage.

"Starke, Zweig, knives out on me. Sommer, take Alekhin with you. Secure the engineer. Go!"

Starke went into the smoke first and listened for the enemy. They were talking, and adjusting their stances to try to see, but it was useless as she pounced onto one and cut his throat open. Zweig was next to follow up in the guys teammate, who also found himself getting a new hole to breathe through. Pitt took them with the others to quickly make use of the confusion.

Sommer and Alekhin moved along the outside and came upon the other team had taken Mohandes before moving into the hangar, opening fire on the surrounding enemies. The engineer, no sooner had he sat back and sighed, then did he find the laptop flying right towards his face as Sommer threw his head into it. It smashed into his skull, but she pulled him back out of the chair and hoisted him up.

"Don't try anything cute." She growled as she took him into a hostage hold while Alekhin kept look out. "Alright, we got the HVT. Move!"

The two fell back though the smoke and back into the building before calling to Pitt.

"We're clear!"

"Alright, we're moving out. Team 7, what's the contingency plan for the cargo, over?"

Opposing Force - Status - Engaged

Mohandes struggled as the Sonitusians pulled him from his corner. However, this was not without notice, as members of his personal team caught up in the firefight threw themselves at his location – raising their rifles, they managed to make multiple points of fire on the Sonitusians as they exited the phosphorus. The group raised their AKs, and with the Sonitusian team in sight, opened fire. (OOC: Since this op is a test op, your team does not have to take casualty)

“Misriah to All Units, I’m blind, can’t see any—NGH!” A fireteam of Leviathan Operators were eliminated as the Recon Corps passed through the phosphorus. The Phosphorus blinded their sensors and they couldn’t afford to fire blindly, in fear of hitting their own man. Their number dropped, and soon, only a small number remained.

“I’m calling it, this Op is compromised! XIFF Identification is too boggy, we can’t tell who they are! Pulling ou—“ They were silenced as an HE grenade slammed into the center of the team, and the rest cut down by 6.5mm gunfire.

Atlas - Status - Need Extraction

The SEAL Team moved forward, picking off targets as they moved up.

Some fell to silenced yet precision sniper shots, and others were hit by machine gun fire. At the end of it, save for the engagement happening near Insertion Bravo, the Courtyard was relatively cleared. Locke looked to Dee-jay and Donovan.

“You two, double time it! They’ve dispatched Hinds to our position, ETA 5 mikes!!”

Dee-jay nodded, and knelt down to Donovan holding the Gerlach pack in his hand. She was hesistant at first, but allowed him to patch her up regardless. A teal foam filled the wound in, and was enough for the time being.

“Can you walk?” Dee-jay asked.

“Sure can, ngh, let’s book it.” She smirked, standing barely and limping away.

They made their way forward, Dee-jay crossing over the courtyard steadily to avoid more engagement as the phosphorus cleared. Just as Donovan stepped infront of the cargo however, did things take a turn for the worst.

“Activation Authorized.” A feminine voice bellowed from the container, shocking the SEALs as they made their way to secure the courtyard. Dee-jay turned back, barely able to shout before a massive explosion sent the cargo doors flying –but it wasn’t the charge. They barely missed Donovan, but the shockwave knocked her down. She attempted to stand.

“Target; unaffiliated XIFF.” The voice said once more. “Engaging.”
An electrical burst was sent from the entrance, and as the smoke cleared, a robotic figure stepped forward, carrying a large turret. It began firing bursts of jagged projectiles through a chemrail system. Dee-jay was knocked back as two tore through his chest, but before he fell, all he could see was Donovan be torn asunder by the blasts from the gun. Once down, it fired a grenade at her, finishing the job.

“Fuck!” He called, clutching his chest. The machine looked to him next, and fired a volley of explosives at him as well, completely obliterating him in a gory red mist. The two bodies were completely unidentifiable.

“Oh shit!” Frost called from up high, immediately adjusting his scope to engage the machine. He fired once, his round failing to penetrate the hexagonal shield held infront of the machine. He fired again, his round slicing through the MOLLE panels on the torso. It did nothing to stall it. He was firing high velocity chemrail SABOT projectiles; it would take nothing short of a tank or attack helicopter to completely kill this thing.

It approached the SEALs, pulling back yet keeping steady and firing on vital points like sensors and limbs. It did nothing.

“Target – Supply Carrier.” It bellowed, firing its gun into the USSAD carrying the Anti Armor provisions and lighting it ablaze.

“All Atlas be advised! You cannot engage that machine, pull back! Pull back dammit!” Lennox called through the comms. “Exit at Insertion Points Bravo and Alpha! We’re getting a reading that it can’t venture outside it’s operational area!”

“You heard Lennox, teams! Pull back!” Locke ordered, pulling the pin off of his XAN-15 Incendiary grenade and tossing it at the two bodies; it was the only way to ensure identification couldn’t be found upon the deceased Atlas personnel. The
Security bot scanned for targets, the Red Phosphorus beginning to clear up.

Budiman groaned, taking a shot to the hip, and Le-Croux also grimaced angrily as her shoulders were punctured relentlessly. They pushed the others to move on faster, and both loaded a thermobaric grenade into their launchers quickly. The rounds lobbed over towards the Leviathans, but both of them didn't bother watching the result, but they could heard the oxygen crack as it was sucked into the high pressure grenade. The team ran quickly, not stopping to take a break as a few more shots flew around them. As Mohandes struggled, Walthers smacked him in the head to knock him unconscious, and they continued to retreat.

"Hey boss, there's a robot looking for enemies," Walthers muttered, looking over her shoulder. Bellarus cursed silently, and replied, "That's why we have smoke grenades. You have a better shot than Le-Croux at the moment, try to launch one at it." Walthers nodded, and stopped while the others continued ahead. Loading a white phosphorus grenade into her launcher, she took careful aim, and it was chucked directly towards the robot. Satisfied that it should ding onto the machine, she high-tailed back and tried to catch up with her team.

She's dead
"NADES!" Pitt ordered as she took out her own.

Everyone chucked their remaining M67's at the hulking beast of a machine as it killed two of Team 7. Jesus, it was terrifying. If that's what they planned to use against them, then they'd need something more like an MBT or maybe an IFV at least to take it out. Pitt would've rather to thrown the RP at it and had a few F-15E's bomb it to hell.

"Pull out! Go, go go!" She barked.

The rest of the squad pulled out to their insertion point at Bravo, with Pitt following up behind. Still, there was a danger that she hadn't really calculated. One of the soldiers picked up a pistol that didn't have the "shock rounds" loaded, and instead had regular FMJ, and fired towards the squad. By sheer luck, the round impacted onto the concrete and bounced, ricocheting itself and striking Pitt in the neck. She went down, causing Sommer to stop and turn around. Her eyes widened.

"SERGEANT!" She cried, rushing over.

Zweig and Starke ran in front and opened up with covering fire at the doorway as Alekhin and Sommer picked Pitt up, with Sommer taking her over her shoulder and heading out. At that juncture, the machine turned over and fired a volley over at them. Zweig caught a few in her legs and went down hard.

"SHIT!" Starke yelled as she grabbed the drag handle on Zweig's vest and started pulling her away from the doorway.

Alekhin helped Starke carry Zweig in a fireman carry before taking point and moving towards the extraction.

"This is Alpha 1, we need out of here right now! We've got one wounded..." She stopped to look back at Sommer who was carrying the Sergeant, who wasn't showing any signs if she was alive as blood ran down her neck. "...and the squad leader's dead! We're on our way out through Insertion Bravo!"

Squad Romeo lined up and, as one, fired upon their assailants, their bullets coming down as a rain upon them. The enemy bullets merely pinged off Romeo's armor, doing nothing to the strong plating. Finally bullets struck the enemies, sending them tumbling down the street. They heard the calls of the AI in the building and requests for extraction.
"Alpha One, head to our helicopter at Bravo. Give the pilot extraction code Romeo-Juliet-996, and don't wait for us. We can have another helicopter here in 5. Romeo Out"
Fortress :// Delivering Evacuation Request: REGT Air Force ETA: 4 Minutes Y/N
"Yes, Fortress."
Fortress :// Affirmative. Message Delivered
Hearing the order to retreat from the Emmerian Forces and the gunfire from the building, Romeo broke out into a brisk jog, their armor clunking against the pavement as they ran towards Bravo.
