Grand Duke Ferdinand Passes Away
The Grand Duke of Dalktrés (Dalctrés), Ferdinand XII passed away this morning at 09:47 am, aged 79 in a statement released by the Palaço dê Chastaiña, through a spokesperson. It has been common knowledge since 2014 that His Majesty had been suffering from a liver infection, but today he finally succumbed to it. Prime Minister Paolo Coñehóvalláta expressed his sadness at losing 'an inspiring monarch, a close friend and a decent man.' The late Grand Duke commands much respect in Dalktrés and indeed Krjder for his instigation of Ramûnillá's re-assimilation with Dalktrés. Râmunillá was a large region in the south of Dalktrés that broke away by force from Dalktrés after the Second World War, taking advantage of Krjder's small and bloody nosed military following it's hard won victory in Bengaria and Qamuria. It was backed by Krjder's nemesis Českova and they formed a Socialist Block. It wasn't until 2014, after a public referendum demanded by the Krïdan electorate that Krjder retook Râmunillá from the hands of the Râmunillán revolutionary communist government and repatriated its citizens.

Grand Duke Ferdinand, before his illness really took hold of him, worked hard and tirelessly to bring Râmunillá up to western standards, he visited schools, helped on construction sites and assisted the Ducal Dalktrésian Constabulary in their efforts to bring control to the impoverished land. He even set up a trust for Râmunillàn youth to get them work, experience and keep them occupied with activities.
Former Prince of Halvekavé, His Highness Prince Jiacómo-Lúdovico of Halvekavé
Next in line, and now technically Grand Duke is the former Prince of Halvekavé (Halvêcavé), His Majesty Jiacómo-Lúdovico the eldest and 47 year old son of the late Grand Duke. He has refused to speak on the matter, only saying briefly that he feels a great weight, in both sorrow and duty.
The Emperor gave a brief statement, with some emotion as he spoke telling us that 'the thoughts and prayers of the Empire are with Dalktrés and the House of Dalctrés-Fiéribourg.'
