No babe, each commune has a sovereign. Each sovereign family may send a representative to the supreme council. That's it. The assembly, the head of cabinet, and more than half the supreme council is elected

So...Roman republic kind of stuff?

Sorta, but the families don't get allowances, they are forced to maintain their own palaces and gardens. And any member who wants to be in an elected office must renounce his/her claim on the throne. Oh and they have to contribute to the state budgets

Auricium is controlled by one eight families. These families nominate senators, who "vote" for the next ruler. There was info, but I pulled it from the FB (currently working on it as we speak)

The difference is that the Emperor is all-powerful, but often delegates power to the people, leaving them to make decisions while retaining absolute power. (A mix of imperial china, rome and the US)

The de facto criteria for matriarchs/patriarchs nominating senators to office is that the family must typically control the galaxy the Senator represents. Each senator represents a single galaxy, kinda like SW. They can draft and form bills, form committees, as well as appoint officials and bureacratic directors. The main function is to elect emperor.

This may or may not become useful to the RP, as it could explain motives of some Aurician born characters, which may or may not be present. (havent decided yet.)

Not exactly like the Imperium, I read about that and it didn't really appeal to me. The social structure is much like ancient rome/china, the emperor rules like a Chinese one, and the government branches are organised like the US, but with the Emperor/Empress retaining absolute power.

Fred, as IMO commander, I advise you to help form a blockade. Smart thing to do at this point would be to use the battleships you planned on bringing to bombard the living shit out of the new enemies... but do it with an ambush... they technically don't know that the IMO has switched sides....

Helicarrier [insert name plox] will send F-22s if needed to support you.
