Krïdan Military manoeuvres commence on Českovan Border!

Today, military exercises kicked off at 03:00 am this morning in southern Dalktrés, near the border with Českova. An entire division and several air wings undertook a series of exercises ranging from taking and securing villages, battalion attacks and the classic combined arms assault. Units from all around the empire took part, units from Waiākūrā and Konćjew took part, along with troops from all around Krjder. The operations ceased at 19:00 this evening, following an inspection by Grand Duke Ferdinand of Dalktrés and Staff Marshall Jozeff-Karol Wülchkbeurg.

The Krïdan ambassador to Českova; Pieter Kjåzellbaum was summoned to the President's Residence. Českova has called the exercises provocative and 'another example of Krïdan intimidation.' Tensions between Českova and Krjder, who have always remained wary over each other, arose last month when Krïdan border guards shot dead Českovan paratroopers who landed on the wrong side of the border and refused to surrender. A Krïdan military spokesperson has confirmed that the operation was protocol and standard procedure for any armed force in the world. Českova was most disturbed however by Krjder's use of its Airborne Cavalry Regiment near the town of Cuñaoville, where light tanks and armoured vehicles, having been deployed by aircraft, moved on the town at terrifying speed.

Staff Marshall Jozeff-Karol Wülchkbeurg, Chief of Staff Command congratulated the division's operations and declared that he and his staff, and military analysts were happy with the execution of the manoeuvres performed by the division. He also stated that due to certain international tensions, pertaining to several nations such as Českova and Kyraen, such exercises will continue. The Staff Marshall hinted that the next operation may be amphibious in nature, in the Stwikesaar Islands.

Island of Altis / Pyrgos / At the Government Complex
Head Minister Xylia Gallo, Leader of the Republican Party, Leader of Current Government
0850 Hours | 1 Day after Krïdan Military Exercises

Head Minister Xylia Gallo read the news paper handed to her. In large bold letters read out exactly what happened. She took A moment to read the article through carefully. She weighed if she should respond at all. It seemed that the group of slavic countries were... more than a little upset with the recent turn of events. Sending in troops didn't seem to be required at the time. She pondered about what she could do and what was Right to do. The Krïdan officials seemed that they were not even going to attempt to stop what they were doing. It also seemed that the other two nations mentioned in the article were more than a little angry even though they were doing the same thing. There was a hint that an other location for the next military exercise was going to be: The Stwikesaar Islands.
She called for the only man she could trust on the matter to talk with him about the issue.

Nikos Panagopoulos, Minister of Defense.

Nikos sat in his office in the government complex with the highest ranking Military official in the country: Col. Timocrates Papadakis. The New AFRG only had 2 Brigades able to deploy. That as well as a small fleet of vessels, an air corps, and a specialist Pathfinder Company acting as the Country's premier SOF detachment. Nikos kept a close eye on the development of the military after the issues in years past. He refused to allow the AFRG to go back down that road. The only way that he could improve the look of his nation and how it was viewed by others was to show them that they were not like that. This included Peacekeeping deployments and supporting other islands in their island group.

Col. Timocrates Papadakis and Nikos were discussing the status of the naval forces when his Nikos's phone rung. He reached across the desk and pulled the phone towards him. He saw X.Gallo on his Caller display. His eyes arched up and he picked up the phone.

"Hello, Miss Gallo, how can I help you today." Nikos asked politely. He had known Xylia Gallo personally for years, "Miss Gallo" was as formal as he got where as she had just called him Nikos.

"Hello Nikos, there is something I wish to talk with you about, are you busy?" She asked.

"No... Whats wrong?" Nikos answered quickly.

"There is some unsettling news and I wish to do something about it," Xylia admitted. "come by my office if your able today I wish to discus Krïdan Military manoeuvers with you.
