Announcement from the Council of the Territories

Over the past few weeks, the Recon Imperial Ocean has experienced a serious pike in piracy-related activities. Several merchant vessels by our trade partners have been attacked by pirates, and the Supreme Government of the Recon Empire is deeply concerned in the matter.

In the past few days, H.E. Marshal Louis Armitage, Court Commissioner of the COTT National Guards, has led a naval expedition to investigate the geography and gather intelligence on the pirate activity. There are about 25-40 islands scattered in the Sea of Spada (Northeast of the Recon Imperial Ocean). Due to the small sizes of the islands, many of them serve as ports or portside towns. There is an estimated 30,000-40,000 residents on these islands. The islands used to host the native tribe of Galoo, but have not been properly documented since 230 years ago, by Lelouxian era explorer Sir Walton Pearson. Due to the rough waters and jagged corals in the Sea, as well as its inconvenient location, no Reconian vessels have travelled there ever since.

We have deployed intelligence agents onto the island, and reveals a new highly organized association of collectively called the "Pirata Spada" or "Pirates of the Sword". It is led by a small committee of 4-7 "pirate chiefs" as they call them, who directs most of the group's activities. More details will be uncovered soon.

Our Commerce Bureau is deeply concerned of the state of the trade routes, and wishes to re-assure all naval trading partners that your trade security is our top priority, and we hope that trade routes can continue to operate as before. General Helen Somble, Globe Marshal of the 6th Tiger Army, will be deploying the naval forces of the Royal Navy of Recon to patrol essential trade routes along the boundaries of the Sea of Spada, and assist in defending our fellow merchant ships. 100% trade routes in the Recon Imperial Ocean involve commerce and trade with the Recon Empire, and therefore the Central Commission believes it is our duty to protect these routes. However, we recommend trade routes to move southwards so as to lower risks of pirate encounter.

In regards to our national defence, St. Valle is still under the state of emergency, with the St. Valle Presidium National Guards called into full activation. The National Guards have successfully controlled one, but has lost control of two more zones. Due to our compulsory enlistment of all males between 25-60, as well as highly pro-gun ownership laws, the local militia has been effective at slowing the pace of this invasion. Mr Thomas Stork, Director of the External Counterintelligence Agency(ECA), has issued a statement to evaluate this invasion as a highly planned invasion, but due to the very nature of sea pirates, further invasions inland are highly unlikely.

We thank nations for their support of the St. Valle invasion, and we encourage travelling merchant vessels to be better equipped or escorted for your own security. Nonetheless, the Recon Royal Navy will be there to assist you.

The Sea of Spada is out of the Recon Empire's marine territories, but however, to ensure the safety of our nation and travelling vessels in the Recon Imperial Ocean, the Recon Royal Navy will hereby declare a justified invasion to the territory of the Sea of Spada, in order to destroy the pirate organizations. The King's Court has declared the nation to be at a state of war with the Pirata Spada, and thus begins the "The Pirata War".

Official Announcement from the Recon Royal Armed Forces

While the COTT National Guards currently surround the Isles of Spada and has set up an escort protection line that separates the Sea and the trade routes that go through RIO. The COTTNGs have currently stationed over 80 Owl-Class Frigates along the entire south stretch of the Isles of Spada, each accompanied by 6 light cruisers, to cover the concave 300km "Line of Spada".

The 6th Tiger Army has deployed the 14th, 15th and 16th Surface Strike divisions led by De Ruyter-Class Destroyer RES Prince Bruce as capital ship to engage attack on Greater Galoona. A total of 120 vessels will be in this strike force.

As reinforcements, the 120th Naval Mobility division will be transporting 500,000 troops into Greater Galoona.

The Royal Navy excepts rough collision on route to the island, therefore 150th Air Brigade will be engaged to assist the RES Prince Bruce Strike Force.

We advice against the Imperial Royal Union army from interfering with this matter as it is of no benefit, economically or otherwise, to the country to travel across the entire stretch of the Recon Imperial Ocean to pursue these pirates. The nation's plans interfere with the current missions already going on in the Isles of Spada, and as much as we welcome support, it is not the right opportunity to do so.

However, we strongly support your naval forces to be stationed around the Recon Imperial Ocean to assist any merchant vessels that should occur conflict with the pirates.

As for the source of the problem, the Royal Navy of Recon has every confidence that we will be able to subdue these pirates. We continue to re-assure our trading partners along the Recon Imperial Ocean that the commerce side of things will remain operational, as we clear out this mess. Nonetheless, we encourage heavier escorts of your merchant vessels.

1000 Nm out from Port Imperial Naval Command

New orders had just arrived in Vice-Admiral Ethan Gaultier's flagship, the gargantuan battleship Hurricane, which specifically instructed him to await further orders from GAIRUSC back home. The fleet had set off early, earlier than announced, except that they had set off without knowing the location to head off to.

Force C, as it was known, had little to decent missile capability, thus making it unsuitable for surface engagements, though the big guns of the Hurricane were ridiculously lethal at closer ranges.

Gaultier was to expect 3 entire squadrons of long-range high altitude stealth bombers, the nation's military pride, the JD-15 Stealth Delta Bomber, to reinforce his assault. With a decent speed, the payload was the most devastating that GAIRUSC had ever tested. The bombs weren't even precision bombs or laser-guided, they were meant to leave massive gaping craters where they were dropped. Whether or not were they precise, the blast radius would have defeated the purpose of precision. The 3 squadrons consisting of 8 bombers each, would be flying high enough at high speeds and begin their bombing run on the pirate islands, regardless of the number of "non-pirates" down on the islands below. Then, they would meet up with refuelling tankers flying under the escort of Gaultier's Combat Air Patrol from his task force's carrier before making a dash back home. For that to happen, Gaultier had to reposition and wait - and that would be another 24 hours before anything could be done.

Clearly, the Emperor was bent on getting rid of the pests that were hampering his favourite business - commercial shipping. The increase in piracy was detrimental to large shipping companies in Port Imperial, in which a handful of those magnates were somehow owned by him or by the state. The Emperor couldn't care less about the destruction that he had ordered, he just needed to wipe those pirates off the surface of the earth before they cost him an even bigger fortune.

ON BEHALF OF THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT OF LUDANIA

In light of the recent disturbances in the Recon Imperial Ocean, and shocked and appalled by the assault on the Ludanian Merchant Vessel Empress Elizabeth, the Ludanian Government has been in constant contact with His Imperial and Royal Majesty the King-Emperor and the His Grace the Viceroy of Australasia in order to determine a course of action to take. The Imperial Government has been fully authorised and been given mandate by the King-Emperor to declare a state of war and join our Reconian allies in the "Pirata War". In order to effectively combat the threats posed to Ludania's vital national interests, all non-military vessels within and outside the government-proclaimed "Emergency Zone" will have to make clear their intent to enter the zone to the Ministry of Imperial Defence in order to proceed and be protected. An advanced squadron of light destroyers will make their way ahead of all other forces in order to protect shipping. All government satellites will, for the time being, be requisitioned in order to survey the Emergency Zone for hostiles. The Imperial Navy's nuclear submarine HMS Indefatigable was fortunately close by during the hijacking of the MV Empress Elizabeth, and has begun search operations for the vessel. In addition to this, the Imperial Navy's Australasia Station headed by the aircraft carrier HMS Canberra has sailed for the Recon Imperial Ocean to commence combat operations, and will be arriving from the South-West soon.

Several hours ago, more intelligence reports have been coming in by the Recon intelligence community, with more updates on the organization and its activities. The Directorate of Multi-Lateral Affairs will hereon coordinate international efforts in dealing with the pirate activities. This release is not publicly available, and only available to nations involved in the Pirata War.

From our intelligence officers on the island, there are currently up to 400-1000 vessels of different sizes in the oceans as of right now, with approximately 500 stationed in the Isles of Spada. Many of which have been deployed as part of their overall plan to expand. Nations please be warned that pirate encounter is highly likely, and we heavily advise all merchant ships to be properly escorted and defended.

More information in regards to the organization of the pirates, there are likely to be 4 pirate chiefs who command the entire operations of the Pirata Spada. Our intelligence officers have found a ledger consisting of the codenames of their 6 commodores:

"The Ace"
"Queen of Hearts"
"Royal Flush"
"Ten of Diamonds"
"Joker"
"Blackjack" (At the St. Valle coastline)

As well as the codename for the 4 pirate chiefs:
"King David"
"King Charles"
"King Caesar"
"King Alexander" (Most likely "The Dealer")

It is found that the pirate chiefs rotate every now and then to hold the position of "The Dealer" who technically leads the other pirate chiefs.

OOC: Feel free to encounter any of them, add the full name when you do. Let's clear the commodores out one by one. Do define what each commodore has.

The National Guards have successfully taken back 4 zones, due to their fatigue, and are currently retreating to their final coastal zone. However, they have raided the necessary food supplies and military supplies in their invasion. Civilian casualties are quite high, due to the militia activities, and range between 1,200-1,800 injured or dead. There are approximately 8000 pirates involved in this invasion, with 1,250 captured and over 3,000 deaths of the pirates.

The pirates have been identified to wield sub-machine guns, machine guns, grenade bombs, and other modern military equipment, while arriving on 100-120 medium-large vessels that are unidentifiable in model. This is most likely due to shipyards which build vessels for the Pirata Spada. The invasion of St. Valle has been identified to be led by Commodore Langley "Blackjack" Tudor and his Blackjack Crew. The National Guards will be engaging in battle directly with the Blackjack crew soon, and attempt to capture the Commodore.

Due to recent events on the surface, particularly in the Ocean, the Miners Union has authorized the deployment of more elite forces to compensate for their lack of naval power or an air force. Several newly trained "Eel" labor units have been deployed below the surface of the ocean to deploy submarine weaponry, such as torpedo launchers, anti-ship mines, and specially trained "Blackdamps" to sabotage the pirate ships from below, allowing Union forces to seize the ships cargo, equipment and surviving crew, though leaving the ship to its fate afterwards.

Elsewhere, reports of pirate held positions being found empty when local forces arrive, have begun to spread. Several captured pirates claim that they were attacked from below, when a large drill like vehicle breached their position and apparently detonated some form of Anti-Infantry explosive. Some reports of Mine Guard forces executing survivors or dragging them back into their tunnels before sealing them, are unconfirmed at this time.

"It's too dark for our reconnaissance fighters to see anything, sir, even the thermal cameras are not receiving much. It's midnight sir, perhaps the pirates are sleeping too?

"Didn't the satellites pick up anything?"

"Sir, our satellites only get coverage of this area for 60 minutes everyday, from 8am to 9am. And that is not exactly helpful because we only know that little of their morning routine."

"Contact the carrier GIN Austerlitz. Send in 1 squadron of 8 fighters, standard missile load-out, but with one additional 60kg Mustard Gas Bomb each. Just drop their bombs anywhere above Lunatic's Port and then return."

"Otto 1 to Austerlitz. ETA 15 minutes."

Admiral Yonhas Sadinsitze was considered a model Sacheyenyani citizen. He showed great devotion to his comrades, his King, his gods, and his region, and, if asked, would say that he'd be willing to enter Valhalla for any of them. When the king announced his intentions to enter the Pirata War, Sadinsitze was one of the first to draw his cutlass. When High Admiral Yusept announced his plan for the Reconian Imperial Oceanic Escort Task Force, Sadinsitze actually was the first to draw his cutlass.

And now, here he was. The Sacheyenyani Destroyer Ship Nagdayla, a Neptune class destroyer, and his pride and joy for the past three years. Trailing slightly behind the Nagdayla were the SDS Hirama and Bela, both Neptune class destroyers, two Poseidon class battleships, the SWS Numan' and Jerome, the Aircraft Carrier Telyphin, sporting 40 Angellyius VTOL fighters and 10 Valkyrius VTOL bombers. Trailing slightly ahead of them were four Tigershark Submersibles, scanning for any ships the vicinity, and in the center of them all was a merchant ship destined for San Varstadt City.

The convoy had just entered the official boundaries of the Recon Imperial Ocean when Sadinsitze's breakfast tea reached him. He had been too excited to enjoy it sooner, and was still quite ecstatic over the matter as he raised the comm to his mouth with shaking hands. "All hands to your stations. AA primed and ready to go, ZEUS and ARES full power. All guns on standby, radio frequencies open, and pilots reroute along the suggested route by the Reconian Navy. It'll take us a while, but we'll get there all the same." He removed his finger, to take a sip of tea briefly. Dreams of being a war hero flashed in the admirals head as he subtly felt the ship shift towards the south, along the safer route.

There job was not solely to escort the merchant ship, however. On board the Telyphin were two teams of Dulchospati, the anti-piracy special forces of Sacheyenya, whose goal was to disembark from San Varstadt, into St. Valle. While the RIOETF engaged pirate ships surrounding St. Valle, ideally with some help from a nearby allied naval force, the idea was that the Dulchospati would use the fighting as a diversion, to slip in and dispatch of 'Blackjack'. But for now, they waited.

"ARES and ZEUS read green on all for the mean time captain. Schools of fish and seabirds are all we've got at the moment. Smooth sailing, she looks like, as long as great Susano-o shall keep us." The radio operator sat at his control panal, reclining in his seat as he spoke.

"Organize a sacrifice for tonight then. But in the mean time..."

The above message was set to loop every 10 minutes. Sadinsitze lay back, and enjoyed his tea, and almost prayed for an engagement with the pirates.

Last night’s attack was surprising. On the way to Lunatic’s Port they encountered much resistance - anti-aircraft fire from the ground, search lights frantically scouring the skies for the squadron. Amazingly, the squadron still managed to release their mustard gas bombs randomly on the island below. The extent of damage is yet unclear.

The second surprise came from a near encounter with the Sacheyenyani force. Thank goodness for early warning radar that the squadron manage to avoid contact. Otherwise the squadron would have engaged the Sacheyenyani force, thinking that they were hostile pirate ships.

Gaultier then prepared the main battle plans. With Rear Admiral Eduardo Collins nearing his positions with 6 Broadsword-Class Missile Cruisers, all armed with enough anti-ship capability to sink half a fleet, as well as an additional force of 10 Type S Universal Combat Destroyers, Gaultier’s position was considerably strong, and quite safe from pirate encounter.

Also in the area was Commodore Edison Lancewell, with the light carrier GIN Elysee and 2 Type S Universal Combat Destroyers, heading over to provide additional cover. It would take approximately another 15 hours before the Hurricane was within firing range, and an additional 3 hours before the Hurricane could bombard the coastlines of Lunatic’s Port.

As the fleet continued down its course, a report came in that pirates had attempted to attack the Cappardian Star, a cargo ship registered under one of Imperial Royal Union’s shipping companies. Fortunately, the light carrier GIN Kastrup was in the area and the attack had also occurred close enough to Imperial Royal Union’s waters for the Kastrup to launch a rescue mission led by several helicopters. Unfortunately, the pirates managed to escape back into the open ocean. Gaultier’s job was now to spread his entire force out to intercept the retreat. In the Emperor’s message to Gaultier -

“If they surrender, tie them up, put them back in their boat, and the blast them apart using the 520mm guns on the Hurricane. If otherwise, take the survivors from the imminent battle and hang them high on the mast of their boat, then send the boat towards the general direction of Lunatic’s Port.”

When asked by his rather astonished crew at the orders of the Emperor, Gaultier simply shrugged off the questions by saying, “Sometimes its just about making a statement.” In the meantime, he altered course and began to plan out the interception by having aircraft search the entire area before they engaged.

Official Announcement from the Recon Royal Armed Forces

This morning, the Western Court National Guards have announced a successful deterrence of the invasion by the pirate attacks on the St. Valle Supercity, and the "Blackjack" fleet have retreated off the coastline. The St. Valle Presidium will begin dispatching aid packages to all citizens affected, and supplies have been distributed. Due to the COTT National Guards Navy stationed off coast, our forces are currently in direct engagement with the "Blackjack" fleet as of right now. With supporting forces from the Sacheyenyani navy, we are quite certain in capturing 1 of the 6 commodores of the Pirata Spada.

Following the capture, it will allow us more understanding of the organization and how we can better deal with it.

The RES Prince Bruce Surface Strike Fleet are almost reaching Greater Galoona, accompanied by the Naval Mobility Division close behind. Following the air strikes set off by the Imperial Royal Union, we will be expecting more retaliation from the pirates. However, more coordination will be done between the Recon navy and the bombing forces of the IRU to ensure there are no clashes in regards to location of our deployment and the bombings.

The Recon Royal Armed Forces will keep our people informed of the actions of our military. Thank you very much.

Sir Cooke spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, as we all know, the coordination between our fellow nations are falling fairly quickly, and we must do something to pull them back together. This should be our top priority in maintaining strength together with our fellow nations in order to better manage our forces more efficiently."

"Haven't we done enough?" gruntled Lady Welsh, "the Commerce Bureau is receiving so many complaints regarding our trade routes and we have already our COTT national guards protecting them. If nations are still gonna stop trading with us, that's the reason why we give them an opportunity to escort their own vessels on top of our protection. Give them some sense of security."

"I think by allowing so many military forces around our territories is attracting the wrong attention. The Recon Navy is perfectly capable of handling the situation on its own, and with all these forces lying around, its putting more risk for us." pointed Secretary Garrett.

"What? You're afraid of them invading us?" laughed Admiral Lyneham.

"Alright everyone," interrupted the young and annoyed General Hifax, "now I agree with Sir Cooke that we must communicate with all involved nations not only in terms of military coordination while also allowing them some liberty to protect their merchant vessels. Diplomacy must still be properly regulated. We should prioritize our strengths not on the oceans, and focus on the attack on the Pirata Spada. The Recon Imperial Ocean is close by, theres no risk of us losing that as de facto territory. We will attack full scale on the Isles with our allocated resources from the GSC, and wipe clean these bunch of nutcracks once and for all. Do call out the militaries of those nations involved, and do inform them of our plan. And make sure our trade routes get protected. Can somebody call out the IRU bombers so they don't bomb our soldiers too? Gosh, these rash people."

The members nodded in agreement.

"What about our current deployments? How are they doing?" spoke General Dale.

"The RES Prince Bruce SSF will be reaching Greater Galoona soon, we should have a proper landing soon, provided we won't meet engagements before hand," answered the Admiral, "but most likely we would, and our forces are prepared for it."

"Any other forces closing up on the Isles?".

"No, but if any its probably the IRU. They've sent bombers, but their ships are still around halfway across the ocean. By comparison ours is almost reaching."

"Good, and besides we have the COTT frigates lined up prevent any ships from closing in, we'll know if they approach. " answered Marshal Armitage.

"We have also deployed the RES Sir Parker Holistic Strike Force and RES Hennings Holistic Strike Force into the open waters of the ocean to assist in pirate efforts." added Secretary Garrett.

"Yes, I want a focused attack on the Isles, clear all distractions and let our main SSF handle it." said General Dale.

"Yes sir, I will reach out to our fellow nations." replied Sir Cooke.

"Commodore English, the Sacheyenyani are nearby, asking for all our naval identifications." reported Officer Martin Lukewell, Chief Communications Officer.

"Diomosso Sadinsitze, the ARES is picking up on something." It had been a long ride as of yet, and as they grew nearer and nearer to Recon, the admiral had begun to lose hope in an eventful ride. Not even whales had been sighted yet, which perhaps disappointed the Admiral most of all.
"Size, number, and location." Sadinsitze perked up in his seat, sitting down his journal. He leaned forward expectantly, ready to give orders to engage.
"Definitely a ship, sir. More than one, but its too soon to tell at this point how many, and they're due Northeast of our position. Your orders admiral?"
"Send out the signal once more, do not break formation, send the Tiger sharks ahead to scout further."
"They're right by our path to Recon, sir. If these are the Pirata Spada, engagement is imminent." These words brought a smile to Sadinsitze's face. He hoped, prayed it was his dreaded new enemy, so that he could prove himself to those back home. The Tiger Sharks broke off from the group, dropping to a lower depth and speeding ahead to see if they could acquire more specifics about the unidentified fleet. The admiral, in the meantime, had grabbed the telecom, ordered all hands to prepare to engage, and the servant boy to bring him a fine champagne of some sort. It wasn't too long before the message came in from the RES Bruce, and formation was called back. A response was prepared as they continued on, in a slightly more relaxed fashion.

Hunting down the pirates which attacked the Cappardian Star was a tiring chase for Vice-Admiral Ethan Gaultier and his entire fleet. They finally met up about 7 hours ago, in which Gaultier was so tired and so impatient that he could no longer be bothered if the surrounded pirates were waving their white flag or not. He simply fired upon them with a barrage of missiles. After that, his captain remarked that he "overreacted". His aide complained that it was an "overkill". Then Marshall Bradley Kingston of GAIRUSC told him off about the "waste of missiles", followed by Secretary of War Lady Windstedt Daegan questioning the "brutality of the response". Despite all of that, the Emperor actually commended him on the "good effort" and his ruthlessness.

The message from the RES Prince Bruce SSF was quite heartening for Gaultier. So far, the only time he made battle was because of a bunch of no-brainer sea scum trying to escape and weren't even "hostile" at the point of battle. He was quite mad that he hadn't fired a single shot (that was of significance).

By some odd chance, reconnaissance planes still scanning the seas managed to pick up an unidentified surface force - too large to be part of any fleet detachment from any regional force, and definitely too disorganised to be from a navy. Gaultier immediately altered course towards the suspicious surface activity.

At the rate both surface forces were moving, they would run into a head-on collision course very soon. And Gaultier had no idea whether they were hostile or not. By the time the distance between the two surface forces were within half an hour's reach, Gaultier sent out his message:

"This is the Greater Imperial Navy of Imperial Royal Union. Identify yourselves. I repeat, identify yourselves."

Gaultier's message had no reply. Instead, after another 10 minutes, the radar showed the surface force turning away from Gaultier's fleet. For any navy personnel of the Greater Imperial Navy, such an act was considered evasion, signifying hostile entities.

In the middle of the night, the Hurricane opened fire on the rear of the evading force with her 520mm guns. The deafening roar of the guns were extremely loud, piercing through the silence of the night. Patrolling aircraft from the light carrier GIN Kastrup 600Nm away could also hear the blast originating from the guns of the Hurricane. The first salvo scored their hits without doubt. Gaultier could see two ships slowing down on radar before disappearing completely. The rest of the fleet engaged with missile fire. With an entire barrage of Exocets, it was only a matter of time before much of the enemy fleet was destroyed.

Half an hour later, Gaultier's fleet went in to clear up the carnage. There were few survivors - mainly due to a lack of lifejackets on the enemy ships, Gaultier presumed. For the few survivors, Gaultier kept 4 of them, for the 3 Imperial Security Departments back home to seize valuable information from, and as for the rest, Gaultier had his crew machine gun them to their watery graves.

While much of the battle was successful, the enemy ships were after all smaller and more agile, and about 9-12 ships had escaped the battle. While Gaultier had defeated 8 of the 20 supposed ships, he wasn't exactly satisfied. Neither was he in a good position to give chase.

Deep below the ocean surface, the Tremorian forces witnessed the attack on the "Pirate" fleet, and were disgusted by the brutality of it all. While not ones to shy away from violence, killing surrendering enemies was just in bad taste to the Opportunistic Miners. Upon hearing the reports, the Overseer in charge of the Unions Military forces in the theater of war, began to broadcast messages to the remaining pirate forces.

somewhere, an Overlordian merchant ship is sunk. A pirate vessel near it pulls away as the vessel explodes. they already were losing lives to the unexpected resistance of the firepower-toting crew. What went wrong and the vessel to self-destruct will never be known. Ultimately, the cause is irrelevant.

In the armored plated fortresses of Overlordian government, a decision was rapidly made.

They decided. Since the the Hegemony was not involved in any wars currently, the military would send 4 Stealth bomber-class semi-automated Magi drones, complete with the nuclear engines that enable flight times of years if necessary (Indirect Aircycle engines prevented the exhaust from being radioactive), and a payload of cruise missiles and long-range torpedoes.

These planes would observe shipping and the action of the other powers fighting the pirates and annihilate any pirates encountered on the seas or on the coast, as well as being sent feed from satellites, and observing communications and media for tracking the illegal vermin.

Death for the pirates is assured.

(p.s. brief reality break, in the cold war and even in the modern day, there was and has been serious efforts by the military to make actual nuclear powered airplanes).

Calling for the utter extermination of the Pirates, and the use of such language referring to them as scum and vermin, is only going to make your jobs harder. Every surrendering pirate, slaughtered in cold blood, is a father, a son, a brother, or an uncle to someone, and by killing them so heartlessly you only serve to create more enemies for you in the future.

Likewise those of you whom take a more....inaccurate approach to strategic bombings, you only serve to turn public opinion against you. Not all can be born with infinite opportunities, or be some coddled nobleman's brat whom will never know a hard days work, let alone the hardship of living in poverty. These pirates in such a way are more noble in deed than you. They do what they must for survival. While many likely do it simply out of enjoyment, many others have little choice, besides starving or slaving away for a pittance.

It is with that said, we recommend another way, Mercy is as powerful a weapon as any other. To take surrendering enemies into your care, not for interrogation, torture, or execution, but for their well being, many others will likely throw down their arms rather than fight. Though the opposite is true, continue to show your brutality and they will fight harder. Resort to more desperate measures. How long before one Pirate, carrying a dirty bomb, finds his way into your capitols, or a group of them reign terror in your streets.

Another note to be heard and heeded, any Pirate forces bearing a Tremorisian Standard are under the Employ and Protection of the Union, and are not to be attacked or harassed in an way. Proof of employ may be requested as they will be under the command of a Mine Guard Foreman. Likewise anything on those ships is now property of the Union until such time it can be cataloged and returned to its rightful owners. "Sire, GAIRUSC has recalled Vice-Admiral Ethan Gaultier to resupply and strengthen his force. Meanwhile, the next biggest problem we have here is the Tremorian forces. Shall we ask for Lady Sybille to settle this?" Secretary of War Lady Windstedt Daegan was running through the latest updates with the Emperor.

The Emperor nodded, thought for a while, turned around and motioned for his servants to bring in more food to the table. Then he picked up the next plate of roasted chicken thigh and started eating while giving his reply. "Yes. Ask Sybille to indicate what the Ministry of External Affairs can do to neutralise this Tremorian force. In the worst of cases, send in the Foreign Secretary to issue them an ultimatum to back off. More sauce please."

The Emperor paused, poured more gravy over the chicken, and then finished it. Then he picked up a bowl of rice, and some chopsticks, and began furiously grabbing food from many small plates to go with the rice.

"Daegan," he said, "Help me send a letter."

When the Overseer in charge of the Unions forces read the letter, he was furious, and gave the order to forcefully evacuate the island, rather than allow the more stubborn pirates to be slaughtered, they would be saved, even if they didn't want it. The Unions forces would spend that allotted 24 hours to evacuate any whom would go willingly into their tunnels or those who could be restrained long enough to be dragged away. After which the Tremorisian forces would disappear from the surface and redouble their efforts to occupy the ocean bed long enough to set up colonies of their own on the bottom.

The Recon Royal Armed Forces is happy to announce our successful colonization of the Greater and Lesser Galoona islands, and have met with significant firepower engagement from the forces. It appears that the pirate chiefs have been alerted, and they are preparing for an all-out attack. For over 200 years, no military forces have disrupted the Isles of Spada, or even come near it, and this is about to change. The RES Prince Bruce has successfully deployed all 50,000 soldiers onland, and will be advancing to Lighter Island, while bombings will continue on Lunatic's Port by the IRU bombers. We have coordinated with the IRU to ensure our intelligence officers are out of the line of fire, however, as all residents on this island are either militia or prostitutes, the bombings will be to remove all that support the Pirata Spada's damaging ideals, and to aid our capture of the Isles. There are approximately 30,000 residents in all the Isles combined, not including sea-faring pirates, amongst them around 5,000 residing at Lunatic's Bay.

After a huge battle resulting in over 2,000 casualties, the "Blackjack" Crew has been captured. Although with the suicide of several hundred men, we have successfully captured Commodore Langley "Blackjack" Tudor and his remaining crew, of about 3,000 men, of which have provided us essential information in how to deal with the other pirates.

The RRAF is aware of the concerns about humanity in our mission by our allied forces in the Tremors, and while the War Committee agrees with the concerns, we have to prioritize our people above theirs. When our men and women, Recon Empire citizens, are threatened, it is only right for us to kill in self-defence. And on the large scale of things, these utilitarianism measures must be taken in order to secure more lives, and more important lives. The RRAF does take in prisoners-of-war but priority will be in protecting our soldiers' lives.

Also addressing the IRU's perhaps more blunt approach in responding to the Tremors, we wish to make it clear that while every nation in the CFOR who have provided their help in this RP, each have their own national ideology and way of doing things. It would be wise, for all, to be a little more considerate in discussing a compromise that is mutually beneficial. By stating this, the War Committee is not intending to point fingers at a certain nation, but to all nations who have risen some tensions.

The RRAF will be tracing down on our next target, Commodore Paula "Queen of Hearts" Keller, head of the Queen's crew, currently stationed closest to our forces. We hope we are able to learn more from the Commodore after her capture.

The RRAF is still currently finding out where the pirate chiefs' forces are located at, and will update all nations once we have located it. In the mean time, we look forward to our allied forces in destroying the forces of the remaining 5 Commodores.

"I'm sorry Minister, the Emperor has given his orders, we are just following it. Prepare the bombing run. Organise a total of 6 waves. Each wave will have 2 squadrons, and will conduct carpet bombing along their flight path. Load them with the new 222kg Unguided Aerial Bombs. Much pretty fireworks for Lunatic's Port tonight. If you're unhappy, go speak to the Emperor."

20 minutes later in the Grande Palais...

"Your imperial majesty, why are we reneging on our deal for the pirates down there?"

"They are pirates. No nationality. There is no international law that will stop me from blowing the pirates, or for that matter, the entire island out of the water. They had a choice. They chose to be pirates. Thus they chose to die. If nothing else, may I remind you that while its 2am RFT its going to be 11pm soon so if you have nothing else I would like to turn in early. Good night."

Meanwhile in GAIRUSC...

"Flag Admiral Jacques Fouche, break radio silence and report the conditions of your force."

"Fouche here. All 4 battleships still intact. Awaiting orders."

"Report your position please."

"200Nm off the coast of Lunatic's Port. Still heading towards it at 20 knots."

Flag Admiral Jacques Fouche was one of the newest plans the Emperor had hatched. The plan was so well kept that only the Director and Vice-Director of GAIRUSC and the Emperor were aware of the detachment of 4 Disaster-Class Battleships to the Recon Imperial Ocean. They had discreetly manoeuvred past Gaultier's force, and had even been in range to stop the attack of the Cappadian Star, but were under orders to move forward to its target. It would still be another 6-8 hours or so before they were in a position to bombard Lunatic's Port. They were the Emperor's back up plan to support the bombing - after the severe carpet bombing, which was sure to set half of Lunatic's Port on fire, the 4 ships, Disaster, Cyclone, Tsunami and Blizzard would then bombard the entire island with their 520mm guns. As for the rest, the Emperor had decided that the bombardment would be enough to pin down Lunatic's Port and its occupants in time for the Recon Royal Armed Forces to capture. Otherwise, he could always call for another bombing run to test out another set of bombs the Agency for Research & Technology (ART) had designed.

While the Tremorisian forces continued to round up any natives of the islands whom would allow it, or could be properly restrained, their advanced eel forces reported the approach of the IRUs ships, forcing the Overseer to redouble the surface forces efforts, while ordering the Eels to follow the ships from below. As a precaution, he transmitted a message to the IRU ships in the region.

"To all ships attempting to close in on the islands, we remind you that there is a 24 hour ceasefire in effect, during which my people are evacuating all those whom are willing to turn themselves over to the Union. As such we will defend them with lethal force should you break the ceasefire in anyway. For if there is one thing we Tremors cannot stand is men who break their deals, and let it be known now, that should you attack this island before the allotted 24 hours are up, you will pay for it with blood. Overseer Negronov out."

After his transmission he gave orders for the Eels to prep Anti-Ship torpedoes as well as position their Blackdamps to sabotage and scuttle any ship they could get too, just in case their brethren on the island were jeopardized. The Overseer hoped it did not come to that, but the Tremorisians were a paranoid and distrusting people when it came to Surfacers.

As for how information got leaked from GAIRUSC, get Director-General Elise Tsang of the Internal Security Directorate to investigate. And put GAIRUSC on lockdown.

There were a mix of bombs used in the carpet bombing. The standard 222kg Unguided Aerial Bombs were meant to fly anywhere and destroy anything where it landed; the 150kg Napalm Bombs were meant to set ablaze anything left from the other bombs, while the 400kg Earthshockers, otherwise known as "bunker-busters", were meant to destroy any hidden underground bunker.

The bombing run left its scar of Luantic's Port. There was no longer any visible vegetation, just blackened soil covered with a blanket of ashes, smoking rocks and the air was left with the scent of destruction. The largest of rocks had been blasted apart into small pebbles, and there were visible craters in which it was obvious where the "bunker-busters" had hit.

Meanwhile, 50Nm off the south coast of Lunatic's Port...

The 4 battleships had slowed their course after the Tremorisian forces sent that message into GAIRUSC after taking direct orders. Their presence was no longer secret and they had lost their element of surprise. Now their jobs were to navigate slightly east to put themselves in a good supporting position of the RRAF, where they could assist in landing operations when needed.

Flag Admiral Jacques Fouche had also just received new orders from GAIRUSC to also coordinate with the newly arriving force arriving 48 hours later - Flag Admiral Henry Thorning, bringing two Marengo-Class Fleet Carriers and 6 Broadsword-Class Missile Cruisers and 20 Type S Universal Combat Destroyers to supplement the battleships. The new force would then focus on conducting raids on the other islands after coordinating with the RRAF, in which neither GAIRUSC nor anyone back home had contacted them or struck a deal yet.

Overlordian government came to their decision in response quickly.

The Tyranniod Overlords as a nation was designed around defense and security, with many subterranean fortress cities, a decentralized and robust infrastructure, and in general was a nation designed to survive all-out nuclear war. They had little to worry from Pirate Sparada somehow getting their way into their cities as opposed to the appointed zones where outsiders could go.

The sending of the 4 drone magi was their way of restraint, their first impulse has to nuke the homes of the Pirate Sparada.They also had little to worry public opinion in case of massive indiscriminate bombardment, as that was what the public had in fact desired as the first course of action.

However, they quickly came to their decision.

A tight and secure message would be sent to the Tremors.

Message to the Union of the Tremors:

The Stealth Drones flew a good distance away from island the Royal Union forces were bombarding. If the Tremors chose to not cooperate, the Overlordian military would have the craft add a tactical nuclear cruise missiles into the mix in aid of the Royal Union's bombardment. Or a regular cruise missile. It depended what the controllers of the Drone craft decided they felt like using today.

To throw away young men and women whom show such bravery and skill without the traditional military training is something one shouldn't throw away, but find a way to turn against our common foes. Our Intel tells us that you too build your cities below the surface, though for different reasons we imagine.

As such, we feel a kinship to you, and would have given targeting coordinates for the asking, we limit our bombardment since we have yet to properly calibrate our Mole Mortars and Iron Moles for this regions geography. Our advanced Damp Labors will paint targets in anyway you desire, smoke, laser designation, IFF Tagging. Needless to say they are more than willing to assist, but would like to remind you to keep your word of sparing civilian targets or those bearing our standard. Lest we turn on you, the IRU is very close to forcing our Premiers hand in this matter.
