Mastanaba'al leaned forward and spoke; "While the Esteemed Delegate Van Ardichem and I, do not see eye to eye on the crisis in Noronica, I must agree with him on the status of Keverai, The Empire of Wellsia gives her approval to the granting of either observer or full membership to our across the bay neighbor.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mastanaba'al leaned back from the mike and let himself start to relax when his aide Sarru-ukin handed him a printout. Looking down at it, Mastanaba'al, looked at his aide, "Confirmed".
Sarru-ukin nodded his head yes.
Standing up, Mastanaba'al straightened is robe and stepped up to the mike again. "Fellow delegates, I have just received a dispatch from my government. I am to inform the League that the Empire of Wellsia has presented the Untied Republics of Dormill and Stirura an ultimatum, demanding the removal of their military forces that invaded and now occupy the Noronican Prefecture of Arvan. All trade has been cut off between the Empire and the United Republics and the Southern Canal is now closed to their shipping. The United Republics has 48 hours to get their troops out. WE ask in the name of peace that all other members of the League join us in the sanctions and that an international force be sent to Arvan, if Peacekeeping Forces are truly needed. Thank You.

[Balnik]

Sophia Yulia, the delegate for Balnik nods her head in agreement with the Wellsian delegate. "Up until the War in Orsandia, Gael has seen relative peace and prosperity. Now that the war has concluded, the Republics of Dormill and Stiura wish to cause unrest and suffering in the region with their unjust and unforseen imperalistic efforts in Arvan. As a peaceful nation wising for the prosperity of all, Balnik will side with Wellsia in suspending it's trade with Dormill and Stiura." Sophia moves away from the microphone and takes a small sip of water, looking at the Wellsian delegate.

[Athara Magarat]

"Sirs and madams." Thomas MacArtair then nervously paused before continuing. "Full membership of Keverai will be advantageous for everyone, according to my government. So says my government. As wished by my government...We wish to support this resolution so that in future the Sultanate of Kachee, formerly of Charbagnian Federation, gets observer or full membership status in League."

[Ainslie]

"Ainslie supports the elevation of the Keveraite state from a non-member. It is important that international organisations like the League are able to mould and support young nations as they seek to restore stability. Monitoring Keverai will be integral to ensuring the creation of a stable, productive nation and we do believe that getting them into the League is an ideal step to get to this point"

Callum leaned a bit further into the microphone, slightly concerned as to what ethnic-based rage circus the Athara Magarati was trying to kick up.

"As for the Athara Magarati's claims regarding Kachee - the two situations are not similar and if Keverai does get elevated to the status that appears to be desired by the Keveraites, this does not set a precedent. Keverai is an uncontested, independent state with wide recognition in The Western Isles - this is not the same scenario as Kachee, whom have attracted much negative attention."

[OOC: Regarding why Keverai is not going for full membership, it is because I want to stay away from conflicts of interest and claims that I'm using Keverai as a way to get an extra vote. I'm trying to keep Keverai as far away from a puppet account IC than I can and that is the main reason I'm not pushing for full status OOC. In my opinion, it makes sense for Keverai to be in the League from an OOC standpoint and there is a IC explanation for why they're not full members.]

[Athara Magarat]

"You are certainly correct about this, sir. The cases are not similar. Currently, the only governments that so far recognize Kachee as an independent state are Athara Magarat and Noronica, both nations that took part in the Charbagnian War, unlike Keverai which has been recognized as an independent state for a long time." Thomas MacArtair nodded. "We will be seeking support for recognition of Kachee as an independent nation first from the rest of the Isles in the coming days before we are ready to welcome it here."

"For now, our government is fully committed to ensure that Keverai obtains either observer status, or better, a League membership."

[Dormill and Stiura]

Moments before Van Adrichem could respond to the provocations from the Wellsian and Balniki Ambassadors, he felt the all too familiar vibration of his phone with a text from the State Ministry with the orders "Remain silent, the situation will be dealt with. Do not provoke either any further.", looking back up from his lap, he remained quiet and watched the current situation closely.

[Wellsia]

Mastanaba'al sat back down after declaring the ultimatum, he was pleased when Balnik quickly through it's support in for Wellsia and the sanctions. Watching Roger van Adrichem, he expected an explosion against the sanctions and how the United Republics were there by Noronican invitation. As van Adrichem was leaning forward to the mike, Masstanaba'al watched as he looked down at what have been his phone, then with a moment of complete surprise, van Adrichem leaned back in his chair and said nothing. Mastanaba'al mind begin to racing, he had been in the diplomatic game to long to be caught off guard by people not reacted how he expected them to. Something more then just the ultimatum and the sanctions was going on and he didn't like being left in the dark. Turning to his aide Sarru-ukki, "Take over, I'll be back in a moment".
Getting up Mastanaba'al walked outside pulling his phone out as he left the Assembly, already dialing the number for the Chancellor of the State.

[Menna Shuli]

Mipax received the note from the Enchanti delegate. She quickly read it and frowned. "Excuse me for a moment, ladies and gentlemen," she stood and left the room.

[Menna Shuli]

Moments later, Mipax returned, jaw set. "I apologize," she stated. "I feel like I've wasted your time nearly as much as mine has just been wasted. Where do we stand on the resolution?"

[Athara Magarat]

"Four nations excluding yours are in favor of this resolution, madam." Thomas MacArtair felt he had to speak something. He was getting more and more confident to speak with these senior diplomats every passing minute.

[Wellsia]

Sarru-ukin, was scared, he hated talking to groups, especially to groups of people who out ranked him. Where was Mastanaba'al? THe report he had received from the Chancellor of State was to renounce the sanctions at once, before discussion could spread in League. He had informed the Chancellor that the ambassador wasn't here, and he was told to take care of it himself.
Sarru-ukin stood up and looked at the members of the League. Es-es-esteemed delegates, I-I am th-the Honorable Mastanaba'al's aide. Sin-Since he is not here I have been in-in-instructed to make the following statement"
Sarru-ukin felt someone standing behind him, turning his face was a combination of fear and relief as he gazed upon Mastanaba'al. "M-m-master, you were not here."
"It's fine Sarru-ukin, I wa son the phone with the Chancellor, so I can take over from here if you want?"
Relief washed over Sarru-ukin, "Please do so."
Mastanaba'al stepped to the mike; "Fellow delegates, first I would like to thank Ms. Yulia of Balnik for your support, next I must inform this august body that there will be no sanctions on the United Republics. As of this morning the Prefecture of Arvan is now the State of Arvan, and by agreements with the Round Table of Noronica and the government of Dormill-Stiura, the region of Arvan has been granted independence. While the Empire of Wellsia doesn't fully accept this until it has the sanction of the Overlord, we do grant Arvan a belligerent status with Noronica which gives it the same legal rights as Noronica. We do wish all present to understand, that we now accept the military of the United Republics as defenders of the region from foreign interference.

[Menna Shuli]

"Four nations excluding yours are in favor of this resolution, madam." Thomas MacArtair felt he had to speak something. He was getting more and more confident to speak with these senior diplomats every passing minute.

"Yes," Mipax said. "Is anyone going to second the motion?"

[Miklania]

"Miklania seconds the motion to grant Keverai observer status."

[Noronica]

Rodger splayed his hand across his forehead, nervously rubbing his temples as more information from home came through via diplomatic channels on his phone. He leaned forward and spoke quickly, "Noronica sees no issue with the motion and seconds it also."

[Polar Svalbard]

"Polar Svalbard will also second this resolution."

[The League of TWI]

Severi cleared his throat, "With the necessary amount of seconds being obtained we will now go into voting proceedures on resolution 16."

[Dormill and Stiura]

Van Adrichem finally spoke up again, for the more simple and less controversial task of voting, "The United Republics votes for this resolution."

[Negarakita]

Gao nodded.

"Aye"

[Polar Svalbard]

"Polar Svalbard will vote in favor of this resolution."

[Corindia]

"Corindia votes Aye."

[Almorea]

"Almorea will vote in favor."

[Menna Shuli]

"The Menna obviously vote aye," Mipax chuckled.

[Athara Magarat]

"The Athara Magarati Federation of Hangates is in favor of this resolution." Thomas MacArtair said meekly.

[Roendavar]

"Roendavar is inclined to abstain but, for now, we vote in favor of this resolution." Lord Marius hesitated.

[Miklania]

"Miklania votes aye."
