EAAT Conference in the International District (TWI, IC)

Postby Eiralis » Sat May 23, 2015 11:16 am

Thierry Achoveha, a prominent member of the Eiralisian Parliament, sits quietly in a conference room in the International District, waiting on the delegates from Vancouvia, Shancion, Kefira, Stoizzle, Democratic Socialist Republic Segentova, Linaviar, The Lithuanian Commonwealth, and Alantania. He lays out the draft that the parliament struck up earlier.

We, the nations of the Eiralisian Alliance Against Tyranny, vow to uphold the following.

We shall work, be it via military intervention, political protest, or diplomatic means to loosen the hold any undemocratic government has over its people. The power of a government should lie with the consent of the governed, and not with enforcement via fear, injury, or death.

Our fellow members, being important to the fulfilment of our mission, will suffer no attack on their soil unaided. Help will be sent to defend them from enemy invasion wherever it may fall, in whatever form we can spare, be that troops, munitions, or medics and their supplies.

Governments that bring unnecessary death and suffering to their own people or others shall be intervened with and toppled. This does not mean every nation that enters a war, but rather nations entering wars for the very purpose of causing death or terror to a people.

After a government accused of violating human rights has been sufficiently investigated, member states may vote on whether or not to take military action against them or be limited to diplomatic measures, unless innocent lives will be lost in the time it takes to reach a decision.

While we are not required to support any independent military activity by any member state, all are encouraged to contribute some effort, whether it be troops, medical aid, supplies, or simple political support.

While the nation of Eiralis presides over the EAAT, all member states' autonomy shall not be infringed upon.

The rest, they had decided to leave up to the rest of the alliance. Speaking of which...

Thierry looked up as the first representatives began to arrive through the guarded front door of the room. "Ah, welcome, have a seat. Let's get right into this, shall we? Who has a suggestion first?"

"Vancouvia has already ordered their surrender. We all together outmatch them militarily by far. It is useless for them to continue to fight."

"Ah, yes, very good, but I meant more of legislative suggestions for our new alliance. We do not wish to bind ourselves too strongly, but a basic, well, constitution of sorts would be good to have."

We currently have soldiers at Bhumidol, HOWEVER they will ONLY be providing humanitarian aid for the civilians.

"I would like to ask that both of you remain calm. This is a debate, not an argument. The Shancionian delegate has a point, at least for those of you who use lethal weapons in your militaries. You have the floor, so to speak, and the Vancouvian representative can speak afterwards."

Ok, that's clear. we might join the alliance IF the situation demands it, HOWEVER some of our soldiers are being supplied with morphine for injured civilians. those that we rescued who aren't injured were brougt to the Appelistani-forces who are currently providing shelter and food. As such we request than neither of your soldiers fire upon OUR soldiers OR the civilians, as the majority of our soldiers are currently protecting a hospital."

"I..." Thierry sighs and rubs his forehead. "We are not here to speak of the Bhumidol conflict, and nor am I qualified to make decisions regarding it. If you insist on attempting to discuss it, I will have to ask you to leave. Not only that, but you shouldn't be here if your nation isn't already in this alliance - which, according to your government, it is. In addition, you understand that the Aapelistani are allied with Bhumidol, the nation that every other nation represented here is opposed to?"

We only went to them because we didn't have any other choice, we were running out of supplies and the hospital was overfull, the soldiers should be on their way back. As for the alliance, what is it about?

Thierry continues rubbing his forehead, pounding the desk once with his other fist. "Security! Kindly escort this man from the room. We'll have a representative who knows a damn thing about the conference or we'll have no one at all." He sighs. "Shancion, you have the floor still." Officers come to escort the Segentovian delegate from the conference.

The Segentovian delegate is removed. A message is wired to their government; if they send someone who actually knows about the alliance, they will be more than welcome back in.

OOC: Actually, you did not, unless I am mistaken as to what you mean.

"The people of Shancion believe the war must never be the first choice. Althought it might be effective it brings deaths for inoccent people, and a big part of the alliance is to protect those people. That's way we would like to suggest that diplomatic and economic actions are took first. Does someone agree?"
