The USP continues mass producing weapons of war, thousands of armored personnel carriers, considered heavier and better armed versions of this "Togerian armored infantry," are churned out to facilitate motor rifle battalions. Despite the larger size of the military, it remains entirely mechanized, and supported by huge amounts of tanks.

As such, more mines are opened in the east. This is part of a social trend of small towns becoming larger as people migrate to the lesser populated east. Despite the more barren climates, new power planks such as solar and nuclear facilitate the growth of large population centers in the Sovosikan wilderness.

During an important public speech, Radomir Vasilev was assassinated. With no heir, civil war ensues between Chairman Balik's son, Josip Balik, and the ex-chairman's most trusted General, Gen. Ezekiel Malakov.
Josip Balik and the soldiers loyal to him take the northern provinces and set up artillery emplacements at the south end of Romuvanbul to keep Malakov's forces out. All 20-30 year old men are being conscripted while everyone else will stay in the labor force and with their industrial advantage, they begin the production of medium tanks. Josip Balik, who was raised in Volkstrad, requests help from Volkstrad to protect his people and take down the traitor Malakov. Romuva needs a just chairman.

Ezekiel Malakov and the soldiers loyal to him (about 60% of the current armed forces) take the southern provinces and begins to mobilize. The tougher men from the Granita Frontiers enlist into Malakov's forces as well as farmers, miners, and experienced veterans. They produce artillery pieces of their own as they prepare to press into Balik's territories. With their agricultural advantage, they are prepared to fight a drawn out war with their stronger men. They also ask for Volkstrad's assistance, saying Josip is unfit to rule and change is needed. Romuva needs a strong chairman.

Volkstrad begins to send the VIPA in from various surrounding provinces, first sending air support and then sending about 7,000 Leopard II's into the Romuvan Autonomous Zone. The 99th Sturmtruppen, the 415th Infantry, and the 798th Infantry are sent in immediately, with more battalions being prepared for deployment as we speak.

Balik is thankful for the help of Volkstrad

Balik's forces rise to about 40,720,000 men strong. More men are volunteering constantly and numbers are expected to rise to 50,000,000 soon. 1000 tanks are rolling off of the assembly lines and are being organized into divisions. 31st Infantry and 32nd are being sent to help defend Romuvanbul.

Malakov's forces rise to 61,080,000 men strong. 5th Army is being sent to Bakar province backed by artillery.

Balik sends 12th Infantry and 3rd Marines into Bakar to intercept Malakov's 5th Army. 1st Tank Division moves into Romuvanbul.

Malakov sets up his artillery and continues to press into Bakar Province. More frontier men join the armed forces.
