THIS RP HAS BEEN RETCONNED TO CROWN THE COUSIN OF MARCELLA VILLA, KAIDA NANAO, AS QUEEN, NOT GISELLA VILLA. ALL REFERENCES TO GISELLA SHOULD BE TREATED AS KAIDA.

Mac Anu, Aqua Anu
People's Unified Federation
Today

The Capital of Aqua Anu was buzzing with excitement. Though Anuien culture had remained mostly ignored by international news, today everyone looked towards them. Today was the day they received their new queen.

Rarely did such events ever come together so perfectly. From Mokastana to AHSCA to Aqua Anu, events over the last few decades had lead to something that would create an ever lasting peace between the three nations.

For all practical purposes Aqua Anu and Mokastana were the same nation, but both had, independently, formed a strong bond with the nation of AHSCA. It was Anuien warships and soldiers who helped AHSCA become an independent nation, born in blood against the Red Tide and the Holy Church. Soon after it's founding, AHSCA learned that it needed allies and their young Dutchess needed to marry. It was this Dutchess who found herself being courted by a distinguished member of the family Villa of Mokastana.

That glorious union, creating the Royal Family of AHSCA, had lead to the happy endeavor that was occurring today. The daughter of George and Shino Villa, Gisella Villa, would be taking the Throne of Aqua Anu.

Between the taller hamlet-style buildings that made up central Mac Anu, crowds flew banners of the traditional Anuien flag and cheered. Vehicle traffic was absent in the City Square, only a few motorized scooters that could squeeze between people, most only because they belonged to Capital Police. Even the Canals, normally a quick and peaceful way to traverse the city, found themselves full of barges, packed with spectators wishing to see today's events.

Unlike the modernized cities of Mokastana, Mac Anu was a city of tradition, and today would see the return of one of it's oldest traditions: Coronation of the Queen.
In the Palace, young Gisella was being prepped and dressed for the affair. Numerous maidens helped her into her Blue and White Royal gown that would become her formal attire as Queen. Gisella's mother and former Dutchess of AHSCA was left in charge of ensuring her daughter was ready when the time came.

Outside her changing room, Generalissimo Minor Alexi Yamato checked on the members of the Queens Royal Guard who stood at attention outside the room. Unlike the Mokans who wore their BDUs to all events, the Queen's Royal Guard dressed in the same red formal uniforms they had worn since the 1500s, complete with light armor and swords. They would be the ones to escort their new queen to the throne room where the ceremony would take place, more in the name of tradition than worry of actual threat.

Elsewhere in the building, High Dutchess Marina Sofia Antonioni was preparing herself for the ceremony. She would be the one to formally present the Crown to young Gisella. Her Royal Blue and soft white gown was less extravagant than the Queens, but still required help to put on. A soft kiss on the neck reminded Marina of her partner's effort and she smiled.

Behind her, Marina's wife, Dutch Marie Payton, helped tighten the corset. As a direct descendant of Princess Dutch M. Churchill II, Payton could have claimed the Crown. It had been something the two spent many a sleepless night over, but to do so would mean abandoning her title as Primary Admiral of Aqua Anu, and without a child the line would end with her. They had decided rather than risk a birth at their age, to allow the Crown to be passed on to a worthy family. Besides, this way they could still enjoy trips on the high seas without worry.

Near the throne room, honored guests were greeted by the Federal Government's Foreign Minister, a young Red Headed woman by the name of Elizabeth Franshaw. Unlike the Anuiens, she wore modest business attire and a small lapel with the flag of the Federation. Aqua Anu did belong to the Federation after all. No doubt Elizabeth would get more than a few questions as to how exactly the Federation worked regarding a Royal Family and is relations to the government.

Still, the classical feel of Aqua Anu gave outsiders another perspective of exactly how culturally diverse the Federation truly was: from the light blue Victorian furniture in the lobby to the still wooden buildings that surrounded the stone palace walls. Though modernization had come to Aqua Anu, given by the electric lights and temperature controlled building, it had yielded to the style and culture that came before it.

And today, that culture welcomed it's new Queen.

AHSCA, a harmonious union of five humble tropical islands in the southern seas of Greater Dienstad after a number of regional boundary redraws, push backs, annexations and so on it seemed the nation had found it's home. The Mokans their dear friends and allies, the Anuiens also their dear allies had become close since the union of Shino Nanao-Villa and George Villa. Since Shino gave her crown to her eldest daughter, Marcella, it left the young Gisella Villa as a lady in waiting now here she was about to become the crowned Monarch of another nation, just like her sister and mother before her. For the occasion so grand only fitting the royal family of the islands made way, most of the other leaders of their respective states had as well anything involving the royals was a big deal for the islands. The only one who was unable to attend was the Elected Mikela Olaff head of the Congress and as such next line of succession should the unfortunate happen.

Guests and dignitaries had gathered out in the main court, waiting for the entrance of Gisella. Of Hoshino it was Viceroy Shinta Ming and his wife Vicerine Yang-Chi Ming. "Think she's nervous?" she asked him "I'd say quivering in her boots. But her older sister and mother are both here they should be fine."

"I was petrified when I married you. Then adding our coronation on Hoshino I was ready to jump on the first coal ship out."

"What kept you?"

"You, silly."

Across the way for Truce was Newly Elected Aina Gustaf with her husband, Stefan. She was chatting up with her neighbors Chief Tala and her husband Petro of Corona. Finally the darling inu-human Millhiore F. Biscotti and her husband Cinque representing the fifth state in the union. She was just admiring the architectural beauty of the building "So much class but my goodness how do they have so many stone buildings and not sink this whole place into the sea?"

"eheh it's a mystery to me dear." Cinque new but he humored his wife anyway. Her nose caught whiff of something delectable. "Mmm hey, hey you in the white coat, come back here!" She ended up running after the passing chef.

While people awaited, the Villa women, Shino and Marcella helped young Gisela get ready. "Relax sis. You fidget too much you're bound to jump out of your skin."

"I'm excited and nervous, got that scared-excited feeling. Like 98% excited, 2% scared. Or maybe it's more - It could be two - it could be 98% scared, 2% excited but that's what makes it so intense, it's so - confused. I can't really figure it out!"

"Easy dear." Shino with her gentle comforting voice replied to Gisella "Just know we are all very proud of you and love you dearly. We feel you will be quite happy and pleased here."

"It's so different here," Gisella mused "Things are posh, modern but still mmm classical. Like in an old book or painting. Nothing like back home on Aurora."

"You'll adjust," Marcella replied "You probably fit better here than I would. I'm too much like mama, too used to the old ways."

"Ooh my dear baby" Shino started getting teared "I'll be thinking of you every day. We'll make best efforts to visit when we can."

"Hopefully before the first hurricane."

"Come girls, let's pray before we go out." Both had to give their prayers to their beautiful Sun Goddess for the blessings they have received in their lives. Now it was time, Gisella was ready to march out and be crowned the new Queen of Aqua Anu.

The only features to distinguish the ebony-black town car were the hood-mounted, blue and white Imperial flags fluttering in the gentle winds of Aqua Anu. The two vehicles in front of it, and the two behind it, were just-as-black sport utility vehicles, these with no markings whatsoever. They were clearly a security detail, but from an outside look that was about all that anyone could have guessed. Most people did not seem to point the convoy any mind, and not just because it wouldn't be the first one they saw that day. All over Mac Anu's skyline waved the proud flag of Aqua Anu, with its stout red star in the corner. The line of vehicles moved slowly through the traffic; the streets, even at this distance from the Palace, were growing thicker with a throng of blue-collar workers, bourgeoisie middle-class, and out-of-place debutantes. They had all come to see the coronation of their Queen, and not even the hassling from the menacing security detail would persuade them to put their dreams on hold for the benefit of some of the Queen's guests.

Inside the sedan sat His Imperial Majesty Fedor I, highest of sovereigns of the Golden Throne. Beside him was Her Imperial Grace, Sophie, their hands tightly clasped on top of her long, folded legs. Ten years older now than she was during her coronation, Sophie was still as beautiful as a golden dawn appearing just beyond the light blue waters of the Corynthis Sea — the body of water separating the Golden Throne from Len Hyet —, and her elegance had only grown. Fedor turned to look at her long, slim neck, his eyes moving on to her hard jaw and high cheekbones, and finally stopped as they lay upon her stunning green eyes. She was still young, as was Fedor, testament to having ascended to the throne at young ages — he in his mid-twenties, her younger still. The Infanta and her brother, the Prince of Castilla, were not present, having been left in Fedala in the care of the Imperial family's nannies. To bring the children, the daughter Elasny, nine, and the son Karles, six, would be too much of a burden this day. The Emperor and his Empress had some mingling to do.

"I do hope the children are okay on their own," said Sophie, almost in passing as she looked out the tinted window to her right. Their driver was completely cut-off from the conversation, a thick piece of glass separating the front seats from the rear. The Empress' face offered a hint of anxiety — the Imperial Family had grown accustomed to foregoing public appearances like these in the years following the War of Golden Succession.

Fedor chuckled. "The children are not on their own, flower of my love. Perhaps they would be better off if they were alone. Giot" — God — "knows what Mistress Hurran will do when they misbehave." He paused and turned his head to follow his wife's gaze, looking at the many Anuien people. None of them paid the convoy of vehicles any heed. Fedor turned back and said, "Anyways, we have other things to worry about. Today we will rekindle our relationships with the royalties of our region and you, flower of my love, must promise me to put on one of your gorgeous smiles."

"Is that all I am to you? A gorgeous smile?" There were a few seconds of silence before she added, "Flower of my love."

Fedor did not immediately respond. He would not dignify her insecurities by fueling them. He only said, "Now is not the time for such foolish talk, Sophie. You are Empress of the Second Empire of the Golden Throne, a position of splendor and power. You must act like you fit it."

The two fell silent as the vehicles turned right down another broad boulevard, heading away from the palace. Before they had left their airport, their driver had told them that the City Square was all but inaccessible to a four-wheeled vehicle, let alone five of them. Instead, the convoy was heading around the rear, entering the palatial complex through a little known entrance. While the crowd thinned the farther from the palace they drove, the amount of people filling the streets was still considerable. Not all of them would be able to observe the coronation from the prime real estate of the square, but they were all just as eager to witness the historical event. Sophie and Fedor did not talk again until their town car had twisted and turned through Mac Anu's streets. They finally found themselves staring at what was visible of the palatial gardens, behind a tall wall they were entering through. They were both eager of escaping the confines of their wheeled prison, now that the conversation between them had grown stale and awkward again.

Sophie and Fedor had loved each other at first; they still did, even if the passion had waned a bit since then. Still, they were a marriage contrived for political reasons. Princess of Soborguntia, a kingdom of the late Great Civil War era (~1870–2004), her ascension to Empress had condemned the territory's independence movement by uniting the county's aristocracy with that of the Imperial family. It was their marriage that solidified Fedor's hold on the Golden Throne, allowing him to isolate the nobility's rebellion to the provinces of Weigar and Sarcanza. But there had been love between them, nonetheless. She had, after all, galloped all the way to Fedala on the dawn of the War of Golden Succession, against the wishes of her father, Count Sigfried, to marry Fedor. Elasny's birth during the early years of The War had brought the two closer together; it was the years after The War that Fedor had grown distant, preoccupied with reviving his broken empire. The neglect he often paid Karles was more than testament to this. Sophie could nevertheless sympathize with her husband, His Imperial Majesty of the Golden Throne.

The glass divider between them and the driver had lowered to reveal their chauffeur's head. He turned only enough so that they could see his right eye and his mouth move. "Your Imperial Majesty, we have just about arrived."

"Thank you, Gunter." Fedor dismissed the man by pushing the button by the door handle, raising the glass again. He then turned to Sophie, whose face was distant in thought. "Come, my Empress. It is time to make some friends." He smiled and then said, "I almost miss these events. It has been a while since we have shown our faces to the outside world, let alone our peers in foreign government."

"I liked it that way," she replied dismissively. Sighing, she forced herself to smile back at Fedor. "But, I will put on a good face for you, my love."

Fedor's smile widened into a grin. He laughed, "Besides, if this coronation becomes too dreary, I am sure they will have sufficient alcohol to let the guests drink themselves out of boredom." He would most likely treat himself to some kacike, a widely exported Macabee liquor. If not that, he would settle for whatever the bar had. Sometimes, you have to get a little happy before venturing out to meet the guests. Diplomacy, they say, is best served on the rocks, and Fedor was partisan to that theory of international relations.

Almost as soon as the town car made a complete stop, a servant man outside opened Fedor's door. On the other side of the car another man did the same, gently taking Sophie's hand to guide her out of the vehicle. The man holding Fedor's door bowed and said, "Welcome to the Palace, His Imperial Majesty." The other man said something similar to Sophie, referring to Her Imperial Grace instead. When she stood tall she revealed her devastatingly sensational gown of blue and black, with touches of white, after the flag of the Empire she represented. It was tight around her ample bosom, but the dress flowed wider as it curved around her lush hips and over her long legs. Fedor wore a matching tuxedo of a quality clearly out of reach of most men. Its silk was imported from the farthest reaches of the world, not because the silk was any better than any other, but because Fedor could afford the prohibitively expensive price. They both looked rather dashing, his handsome looks and her undeniable beauty complementing their garb well.

Neither of the two aristocrats paid the men much heed, instead walking together through this outside court, flanked by beautiful gardens, towards an entrance into the palace proper. There were groups of different foreign representatives, dignitaries, and royalty clustered together, here and there, but for now Fedor gave them only a passing nod if they greeted him at all. He'd have time for discussion later. For now, Sophie and he made their way towards the Throne Room. The palace was truly exquisite and deserving of that name, its neo-gothic architecture similar to that of the Imperial Palace of Fedala. Fedor and Sophie, however, paid little mind, radiating a sense of arrogance proper to the ruling family of the Golden Throne. Fedor's eyes only diverted from a forward-gaze when someone worth his respect fell within his field of vision. He would nod, promising a future conversation, but otherwise did not deviate from his path. The two's entrance was finally only put to an end when Elizabeth Franshaw came to greet them.

She was about to curtsy before Fedor took her right hand and softly kissed it while bowing, while Sophie smiled. The Mokan minister, with an air of dignity about her, said, "Welcome to Aqua Anu, His Majesty and Her Grace."

"I suspect our Queen is preparing for the coronation, then," responded Fedor. "It is an honor to have been invited to this most glorious event, truly historical for this nation and your own, Ms. Franshaw." Sophie did not speak, limiting herself to her unceasing smile. Her Imperial Grace did not need to speak if she did not want to, not that she had much to say to a mere minister.

After a short dialogue, Franshaw went on to greet other guests. Fedor and Sophie turned to take in the Main Court and determine what they would do next, while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Fedor's eyes charmingly darted from area to area, looking for someone of stature to speak to.

Mac Anu was a fascinating city to the Castillian envoy to the Coronation. Aqua Anu itself was a fascinating place. It was vastly different from the planned cities and mountains of the Castillian National Socialist State, but rather tropical and architecturally abstract. This was the first time for any of the envoy to visit Aqua Anu, or even the People's Unified Federation of Mokastana. It was almost obvious to the members of the Castillian envoy that even though relations between the two nations had warmed significantly in recent months, cultures would clash this very night. Even mentioning the word "Castillian" was almost a declaration of war in Mokastana. There was a sentiment among the envoy that even though they would be received at the coronation with courtesy, they would not be received with respect.

The envoy was surprisingly small, compared to other diplomatic emissaries the State had sent in order to pursue the endeavors the State. It consisted of the Chancellor himself, J. Oswald Vaughn IV, the supreme leader of the State, along with his mistress, Else von Grünwald, a famed actress from the German Empire, whom he had met while on a state visit, and had fallen in love with the Chancellor shortly after. Accompanying the Chancellor and his mistress was Colonel Perry Hall, the Chancellor's chief security officer, serving as a liaison from the War Ministry, and Field Marshal Kent Chadwick, one of the Chancellor's senior military officers. The Colonel and Field Marshal would not mingle much with the Chancellor and his mistress, they were there mostly for security reasons.

This was a very formal occasion, thus the apparel matched the occasion. The Chancellor wore a white tuxedo jacket and shirt with a black bowtie and pants, while the undeniably attractive Miss von Grübwald wore silver silk ball dress with a very expensive and eye-catching diamond necklace and white ball gloves. Colonel Hall and Field Marshal Chadwick both wore the "Waffenrock" formal military tunic, albeit in a summer white dress, with their medals displayed, as well as their Iron Crosses hanging from the collar. Their unarmed security detail would be two agents from the Ministry of State Security, wearing black suits with the only thing identifying them as Castillians being a Party badge on their lapels.

The Chancellor and Miss von Grünwald rode in a black town car, as a black SUV lead the car up to the gates of the Palace. Colonel Hall and the Field Marshal rode in the SUV, while their unarmed security detail rode in another SUV that flanked behind the town car. The convoy pulled up to the gates, where the Queens Royal Guard did a quick sweep of the vehicles and allowed them through. The convoy pulled up to the main steps of the Palace, where the nobility of Aqua Anu mingled about, while reporters snapped photographs of the rich and famous.

The security detail disembarked from the two back doors of the rear SUV, gently closing the doors, while the guard on the side facing the Palace steps opened the door, and the Chancellor stepped out. He then reached for Miss von Grünwalds hand, who accepted and he led her out of the car. They both strolled up the steps, her arm hooked through his, and began to converse with some of the nobles. Colonel Hall and Field Marshal Chadwick ignored the wealthy Anuiens and proceeded directly into the Palace, while the guards stood off to the side of the Chancellor and his mistress, keeping alert for any threats. They were under strict orders not to drink, not to eat, and not to speak to anyone except for Colonel Hall.

The jet black luxury sedan which occupied within it was the Ordernite delegation would to most who were politically knowledge would question their arrival to a event such as this a coronation for a Queen. Sebastian Lombard sat in the back of the luxury sedan as it made it's way down a long road which on both sides was covered with civilians and the media which were snapping pictures of the foreign guests who arrived at the Palace which was where the coronation was being held in. Foreign guests were the exact reason why the UWO had even considered of sending a diplomatic envoy to attend the coronation of the Queen. The nation of Aqua Aqu was under the banner of the Peoples Unified Federation of Mokastana a nation that the UWO considered border line enemies but had more important affairs to handle as the nation building occurring in South Panooly.

Sebastian Lombard, a devoted member of the National Ordernite Fascist Party which he wore his best attire with his party identification card pinned neatly to his chest. A middle aged man born in the capital of Berlina situated in the center of the massive industrialized and heavily militarized nation that was the United World Order or Vereinigte Welt Ordnung in Ordernite. Sitting next to him dressed in full formal military dress was Generaloberst Konrad Hemmer who was a famous commander in the campaigns in the taking of Aleckandoran colonial holdings such as East Taraka and the Ecalponese Prefecture. His uniform sported numerous medals and ribbons that were pinned to the chest which all meant different things in the Ordernite Army and were mostly gained through the showing of excellent commanding and seniority in the Armed Forces. Hemmer was a older gentlemen who had served in the Ordernite Army as an Officer in the beginning of his career in 1974 and had dedicated most of his life to his work in the military as did many of the upper echelons of the Ordernite High Command and the Generals staff of the Ordernite Army and Order-SS.

Along with the two Ordernites was a unfamiliar face to others, a Panooly specifically from the south who was a 'honored attendee' of the Ordernite delegation to the coronation of the foreign Queen. He was not a colored but a white Panooly dressed in his own formal attire and was the Prime Minister of South Panooly, Klaus Jacobs. He was a mostly unknown character to the international community as his work within the growing South Panooly government being monitored and built up by the Ordernite Reich was shrouded in utter most secrecy to others. He showed obvious differences to the two Ordernites who accompanied him as he mostly spoke Dienstadi and was learning Ordernite as he knew a few words in his progress to become fluent in the language.

Once the luxury sedan came to a stop outside the Palace of where the Monarchy in Aqua Aqu lived a adjutant to Generaloberst Hemmer exited the passenger seat and opened the back door for the three 'diplomats' representing the Ordernite Reich. Sebastian, Konrad and Klaus made their way inside as the press took photos of the two as they walked past and into the Palace it's self. Once entering they were greeted by a young red headed lady wearing formal attire who introduced herself as 'Elizabeth Franshaw' the foreign minister of Aqua Aqu. The foreign minister was sure to be surprised when the only acknowledgement from the two she was given was a nod by Sebastian and a quick salute from Generaloberst Hemmer and a handshake from Prime Minister Jacobs as they made their way past her and into the main hall where all the other foreign guests and the Queen and other government officials were, socializing and pleasantries were being exchanged by all to each other as the trio stood by and watched waiting to recognize a certain foreign head of state that might have attended as well.

Whilst the Junta were historically indifferent to Dienstadi politics, a recent shift in Haize Armed Forces doctrine coupled with the growth of Diplomat Office influence over the administration have recently changed the apathetic attitude of Haize regarding the play of diplomatic chess of the region. The Junta realized the soft power of diplomacy through recent events, viewing diplomacy as a legitimate tool over numerous options despite some Haize policymakers' perception that it's more troublesome than it sounds.

This is no surprise given Haize have been straightforward in nature, feeling the turns and knots of diplomacy particularly suffocating or in some cases against traditional Haize values. The case is entirely different for Diplomat Office and select members of the General Assembly whilst the defacto-ruling Central Military Commission have already accepted the paradigm of doing international relations as evidenced by attendance of Provost Lyunika-Asuta, the tenth of twenty-one strong Commission member in Global Aerospace Trade Association summit in the Golden Throne.

Haize diplomatic stance could easily characterized by the person that the State will send or not; for events that do not hold the Junta interest, a single letter would be sent but if it's a minor event, a personnel from the General Assembly will be attending. A higher ranked event will see a diplomat from the independent Diplomat Office while a personnel from Central Military Commission would mean the Junta manifested a great interest for adjudicating international relations.

Given Sashan Vidin is singular at one time and cannot attend various diplomatic engagements in the same time, it was decided during the formation of the Junta that attendance of Central Military Commission member is the highest diplomatic stance of Haishan considering the Commission is technically second-in-command after the Vidin. Recent willingness from the Federation to go all its way to send a delegation of diplomatic heavyweights to Haishan prior have prompted the Junta to repay the favour in kind, signalling Haishan is no longer a dormant State diplomacy-wise.

In actual reality however, the Junta do not hold the coronation event itself as exceptionally important but the administration is rather interested on attending dignitaries. The Junta perceived the importance of diplomatic event on basis of attendees; the event might not be worth it in a sense but multiple diplomatic engagements can be made on guise of the event on basis of who is attending. Presence of foreign President meant the Junta can coax more diplomatic options compared to a diplomat that is lower in the chain of command.

Prior to the attendance of Junta personnel to the coronation, Central Military Commission carefully studied the roster of current attendees, true to cold calculative nature of Haize; Fedor I and his wife from the Golden Throne, supreme leader J. Oswald Vaughn IV with his accompanying military personnel of Castillian Socialist State and lastly Sebastian Lombard with his companion Generaloberst Hemmer of Ordenite State.

The Junta have no doubts expressed interest to intermingle with the Golden Throne's Emperor primarily for trade and diplomacy reasons but the administration is also piqued over the appearance of two Nationalist States' representatives that in Haize perspective, would avoid any dealings with monarchies. Diplomat Office anticipated as much; for such nationalist States to survive or any States to that matter, they need an international presence that can be tolerated, so other States are willing to engage and conduct trades with them.

Such conclusion further cemented Junta decision to send someone of high diplomatic standing, silencing critics of the move. In addition, it might be beneficial to extend a diplomatic hand to the aforementioned States on a high level and thus allowing the Junta to get a good feel what makes them different than run of the mill of nationalist States around the world today. The Junta hoped both of them would be worthy for the time spent to be engaged upon as Haishan seek greater international relations' influence not only in the Far East but throughout the region.

Similar to Castillian delegation, the Junta attendance consist of two important personnel, one from the Central Military Commission and another from the Diplomat Office; Speaker Vasily-Karataka ranked seventh in the Commission, and General Diplomat Anabelle-Kyomi, one of the top three in the Office. This duo is further accompanied by a ring of support staffs, some diplomats and some security details though Speaker Vasily-Karataka is more than capable to defend himself, as expected from the Commission member.

The protection nevertheless are there for formalities reasons and to secure the safety of General Diplomat and support staffs. In contrast of Castillian or Ordenite delegation, the Speaker brandishes only an ordinary executive suite in exception of a special name tag than a forest of medals but for trained personnel, they would feel the aura of the Speaker to be quite exceptional. This is no surprise given the Speaker is one of the founders of Haize Airborne Shock Troopers service, physically and mentally trained to rapidly adapt in almost any situation.

The General Diplomat on the other hand serve to soothe the somewhat straight laced Speaker's methods, acting as a counsel and a balance for the Commission member. It can be said that any Commission member is somewhat special in a form, or oddly insane in some aspects as viewed by the lower General Assembly thus the arrangement. In relation of the Speaker, the General Diplomat provides a much needed or sane contrast with her one piece dress with inner white camisole (and torso-mounted thin body armour) in conjunction of hairpin-locked hair and, a pair of white gloves which is a characteristic trait of someone from the Diplomat Office.

The Haize delegation however is neither beautiful or ugly, a balance between pompous grandeur display or straight up unprepared. Simple yet carries an air of sophistication as a strong indicator of Haize utilitarianism and practicalism culture. Both personnel have unique green eyes suggesting a common Haize ancestry but while the Commission member have a jet black hair, the General Diplomat have somewhat light gray hair, indicative of her mixed blood origin.

As expected of his expertise, the Speaker is somewhat old of forty years of age though his fit appearance may confuse people to perceive him as someone younger. The General Diplomat on the other hand is the younger one by age difference of eleven years and she displays a particular maturity and thought sophistication that could lead people believing she's older than the Speaker. The General Diplomat however is indifferent to age, as trait of all common Haize that do not trifle with nuances that are more associated with foreign cultures.

The Haize delegation would use nondescript vehicles if not intervention from the General Diplomat that figured some show of economic strength is needed; the Haize standardised diplomat vehicles are more decorated than usual, with ancient Haize accenting style of contrasting shades and a painstakingly handmade glass-based car mascot although some feature electron beam printed metal sculptures.

The tires on the hand is Haize Armed Forces' standard airless tweel although their holey structure are covered with a carbon nanotube-reinforced polymer cap. After several minutes of long-winded travel in the area in vicinity of the Aqua Anu's Palace, the trio of Haize vehicles finally arrived at the Palace's gate, with one of the Haize personnel pushing a button to bring down his driver's window and establishing identity of the diplomatic entourage to the gate guards.

Two soldiers of the Queen's Guard stood at attention near the entrance of the Grand Hall. Light armor and Samurai inspired helmet complimented the Wakizashi secured at their sides. No one, not even a foreign security guard or Mokan soldier, was allowed weapons inside the Palace other than the Queen's Guard. With so many Heads of State in one location, it only made sense to make sure everyone was safe. However the Grand Hall was left empty of (obvious) security, giving the diplomats and guests the general freedom to be as they like.

As emissaries mingled the Mokan representatives walked among the crowds chatting with the various leaders and friends who showed up for the occasion. Mr. Diego made his way towards the guests from Hoshino and induced himself.

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Pablo Diego, President of the Federal Republic of Mejico." he said offering his hand to the couple. "It's lovely to finally meet you. My wife and I, wherever she has run off to now, spent our honeymoon on Hoshino. Lovely island. I was only a national senator then, but I admire your home land."

Across the way, the couples from Truce and Corona ran into President Caesar Akamu, of the Federal Republic of Paradisa. Before the unification of Aqua Anu and Mokastana, Paradisa had been a colony set up near Mokastana's allies to increase trade and keep military forces on standby. Because of that, and Paradisa's own oil reserves, it had become the most prosperous colony, but the locals still held on to their old ways.

Only recently did they vote to change from colony to nation within the Federation. Which naturally allowed the old Mokan governor to be replaced by an indigenous President. President Akamu smiled as he approached the leaders from the island chain closer to him, culturally and geographically, than Mokastana Proper. Despite his business suit he still wore a small head lei with bright red and yellow flowers. The "crown" of the President in Paradisa.

Elizabeth felt herself blush when the king kissed her hand, and she knew with her pale skin it would show despite her make up. She hated it when that happened. Still, she had learned well to... if not hide her true feelings, then at least pretend like she could ignore them.

"Yes your Majesty, the soon to be queen will be presented with the crown, and after the ceremony guests will have a chance to visit with her."

After pleasantries were exchanged Fedor excused himself and his wife followed. No doubt to mingle with the other powerful leaders who had accepted the invitation. She wondered how many accepted simply because they heard Fedor was going to make an appearance. Taking a quick breath to recompose herself, she spoke into her Mic with security to find out who the next guest was. Her earpiece told her something she didn't want to hear:

Castillians...The right wing bastards who wanted to increase relations. She played along as was her job, but it didn't mean she had to enjoy it. The look of disgust flashed across her face for a second, but long enough for the President to notice.

President of the Federation, Henry Milano, appeared almost out of no where it seemed and smiled to her. A friendly reminder to his student to play nice. He too knew who was coming. Without further interaction, he passed her data walked towards the Fedor. No doubt planning to play some sort of political game.

She put on a smile for... the earpiece said Chancellor J. Oswald Vaughn IV, and his mistress. She would greet them with the courtesy expected for a man of such stature. A world leader should always be treated with respect, but admiration was reserved for those who earned it. A nation who prided itself on eugenics and only allowed the purist blood political rights, was not among them. Most Mokan and Federal representatives would avoid them, not wanting to be caught associating with fascists.

On the bright side, Elizabeth was aware of certain negotiations that would be happening soon, and so she did her best to maintain a neutral disposition. But while the Castillians may be willing to loosen their immoral laws, the United World Order prided themselves on it. The Castillians were to be tolerated in the name of maintaining local peace, and to help a smooth transition into a more accepting culture. The Ordernites had none if those advantages.

How they got invited was questionable, and more so why they chose to accept was beyond Elizabeth's understanding. Technically they were not hostile, and the PUF had little if any interest regarding the nation, so the open invitation was sent. Still, security would be paying them extra attention. If the Castillians were treated with uncomfortable courtesy, then the Ordernites would be treated with careful suspicion.

So when she heard in her earpiece that the Ordernites were stopped by security, claiming their party pins could be a security hazard, she had a genuine smile ready for the Haize delegates.

It may have been intentional to let the Haize delegates pass the Ordernites who argued with security. Minus looking over one hairpin, the Haize delegates were allowed to pass with little to no trouble at all. It might also have been intentional to let the Ordernites see how little trouble the Haize received.

Elizabeth greeted the Haize delegates while the Ordernites were given the choice of leaving pins in the car, or respectfully leave. It seemed many nations were sending the major players from their governments after all. A nervous knot began to tie itself in her stomach, she would have to be extra careful in making sure things went smooth today.

Before the Ordernite delegation could get into the Palace they were stopped by security claiming that the party pins that Sebastian was wearing were a security hazard. At first Sebastian tried to explain they were not a security hazard and they were fine to wear into the coronation but Hemmer stepped in demanding that the pins be allowed to stay as obvious anger grew to a near shouting match between Hemmer and the two guards who had stopped them. Sebastian and Jacobs then calmed the general down as the Adjutant to the general took the removed pins and walked back to the car leaving them inside. The two guards then permitted the trio inside to which once facing the Minister of the PUF no pleasantries or greetings were exchanged to the Minister, the trio simply walked passed her and into the main hall where all the other foreign guests and government officials were gathered.

Hemmer adjusted his dress uniform as he made a glance at Sebastian still frustrated with their confrontation with the guards at the palace entrance. "These kommunistin really want to start an international incident, damned fools" he commented as the trio stood watching the conversations being carried on despite what had occurred minutes ago. Sebastian replied back, "It's blatantly obvious they are intimidated of our presence here and i'm sure whoever sent the invites will surely not be having a job anymore." he chuckled as he looked around before spotting the refreshments table which some were gathering their drinks from mostly alcohol which wasn't a surprise.

"Would you care for a drink, Generaloberst?" he asked Hemmer as he pointed out the refreshments table off to the right of the hall. Hemmer nodded, "Dear god they better have something strong, I might explode like earlier if I don't" Sebastian excused himself and made his way through the mass of government officials and other foreign guests to the refreshments table. He looked carefully at all the glasses with different contents in them which tall bottles of what the contents were stood beside the glasses. Sebastian then collected three separate glasses with two in one hand and one for himself in the other, all three having contents of alcohol in them as he made his way back to Hemmer and Jacobs.

Grand Hall, Queen's Palace
Mac Anu, Aqua Anu
People's Unified Federation
Today

As the Grand Hall filled with guests, staff and waiters went through the crowds, offering the finest sushi and seafood. For those less inclined for fish, a table near the fireplace held exotic fruits and vegetables from around the Islands. Though it was only a matter of time before kitchen staff brought out a full roasted Jaguar, hunted in the Mokan jungle and brought as a gift by President Diego. While a chef stayed with the Jaguar to serve slices to guests, waiters carried out trays with the finest wines from around the Greater Dienstad, with Wellovian Whiskey Mokan Rum for those with a different taste.

The Grand Hall itself was decorated with banners from each of the Anuien Islands, draped along the white walls. For those who took a closer look, they would notice the light shadings along the walls were actually painted in the forms of flowers, birds and other symbols of nature. However, with the tables and chairs that lined the walls only a few would be able to take notice. Especially since the center was cleared for mingling, and later, dancing.

It was among these guests and staff that Charles Villa made his way. Though retired, it was his granddaughter who was being Crowned. It was nice to mingle once more among the powerful of GD, if only to exchange pleasantries and enjoy the political spectacle that always unfolded at these events. And perhaps, to make sure no one planned on taking advantage of the newest face in Mokan politics.

Still, perhaps he would see some old faces, and maybe introduce himself to a few new ones.

MAC ANU, AQUA ANU, PEOPLE'S UNIFIED FEDERATION

The Kaiser had never really made much of an effort to form friendships, or even make acquaintances, among the national heads and royal families of the region. Apart from with states the Empire had been allied with through the Anti-Communism Alliance, international cooperation was never a German priority. Due to its physical size, bustling economy, and firm nationalism, there had never been a need to cooperate or even interact with other Dienstadi states. But when His Majesty had received this invitation to attend a coronation in Mokostana, he deemed the rise of a new queen in the region an important enough event to attend.

Benedikt von Steinbach I, German Emperor, King of Prussia-Steinbach, Defender of the Christian Faith, Ruler of the Imperial Territories, and Sovereign of all German Peoples, had arrived. He wore a military uniform in the Prussian tradition. It was jet black and perfectly pressed, silver trim outlining the suit. He wore impeccably shined jackboots made of the highest quality leather. On his chest were displayed several medals marking him as the ruler of a strong, vast military empire. He wore no hat, and his slick blond hair shone in the light from the magnificent Palace. His deep blue eyes bored into the faces of the guards ahead, as if he could see their very souls. His face was straight, plain, unforgiving. His was a commanding presence, only added to by his six-foot-four height. At only forty-five, he was as handsome as when he had first taken the throne.

On his arm was his wife, the queen, Adelaida von Steinbach. A princess of the German state of Bavaria, she had been married to Benedikt the year before he took the throne. Her hair was as blonde as the emperor's, but her eyes were a striking emerald green, that many described as having "the appearance of jewels in even the dimmest light."

Passing the guards and leaving their heavily-armed security behind, they entered the Great Hall. A server approached them, greeting them in the correct style. "Bring me your finest whiskey," the Kaiser commanded, not making eye contact with the man. "Her Majesty will have your finest gin." Waving the servant off, the German looked around from someone to talk to, perhaps someone he knew.

Amongst the arrivals was a Rolls-Royce Phantom VI bearing the standard and coat of arms of the Morriane monarch, Archduchess Lothwyn Boudica Cathmore II. The Archduchess wore a simple but elegant dark green dress, though she did also wore a blue sash with a silver badge depictinh her coat of arms to signify her status as the Morridane Crown. She was looking forwards to the coronation with mixed feeling, given Greater Dienstad's minority royal population it was a positive thing to bring together said royals. Then again there would possibly be people that she didn't want to meet, Prince Augusto of Imbrinium was a prime example along with her lost-distance cousins the Stevidian Royal Family with whom she had even more distant relation and...other people from the likes of Castille and UWO. Regardless from the list of invites it was already proving to be quite a gathering.

The Rolls-Royce came to a halt and a servant opened the door, taking Lothwyn's hand to guide her out of the vehicle and greeted her. "Welcome to the Palace, Your Royal Highness."

"Most kind." Lothwyn smiled back before making her way inside, heading towards the Throne Room where the coronation was to take place. She took a glass of wine from the tray of a passing waiter, really as an excuse to sip and avoid anything more than a polite greeting as she made her way through the crowd of people. At this stage she was more interested in seeing who was present and pick up little nuggets of gossip before committing to a proper conversation much later on. She also kept a wary eye out for would be suitors trying to impose themselves upon her, being the Crown of a powerful Dienstad and single she wouldn't be surprised if twelve dozen would try their luck before the night was out.

"It's a pleasure to attend this prestigious event, Foreign Minister of the Federation. We from the Haize Junta have heard of your work and we expects the Federation to keep up with the agreed commitment." Shortly after exiting the Haize official delegate vehicles, General Diplomat Anabelle-Kyomi replied to Elizabeth Franshaw's gesture with a simple smile.

The Speaker then continued her speech, "I'm sure you're fully aware that communication is a two way street, Foreign Minister. Upheld your promise and we will do the same."

Finishing pleasantries with the Mokan official, the Haize delegation encountered one of Queen's Guards stationed near the reception area "Honoured guests, weapons aren't allowed in the hall. Please place it here for safekeeping."

"Really? That's a shame...anyhow, please hold this then." She immediately replies with a slight frown as she draws her hidden sidearm out from her dress.

The guard in turn also frowned not to her frown but to the unexpected weight of the blockish weapon, "Uff, this is heavy. Is it a pistol?"

"No. Machine pistol, caseless, Haize Junta standard issue. Keep good care of it." General Diplomat simply smiled at the guard as she expects the Speaker to do the same.

The guard then nodded as approval and then talks to the Speaker, "Your sidearm, Sir?"

"Oh right. Here it is." It was some minute of awkwardness as the Speaker didn't notice the guard's request until the General Diplomat gave the Speaker a particular smile.

The guard unconsciously arches his eyebrows as he expected the Speaker's sidearm to be as heavy as the General Diplomat's "I'm sorry Sir, is your sidearm a toy? It's unusually light."

"Don't worry about it, it's just a polymer pistol. So where should we head to, Guard...uhh" Again the Speaker unwittingly show a bit of his awkwardness until he's interjected with a slight whisper from the General Diplomat.

"Psst, look at his nametag."

Quickly gaining his composure, the Speaker immediately changed his tonal inflection into formal form. "Ah yes, Guard Charles?"

"Oh. Please head left after this to enter the main hall. We will return your sidearms after the event is over, thank you for your patronage." The guard then extends his hand to visually show the Haize delegation of where to head next.

General Diplomat quickly moved to the Speaker's side as they walk into a grandiose door, opened by the Palace's guards to let them through "Keep up a good face, Speaker. You almost embarrassed me back then."

"General Diplomat, it isn't in my intention to play this diplomatic chess of yours. Remind me why are we here again?" The Speaker instantly replied with a muffled tone, intending to keep the conversation within her earshot only.

The General Diplomat picked up the intention and proceed to whisper to the Speaker whilst occasionally gazing around the area and noting the clean surfaces of the Palace, "Isn't it within the wishes of the Junta to establish a more prominent international position? With all due respect Speaker, there are orders to the matters involved."

"If not for the wishes of the Junta...forget it." Just before the Grand Hall where the coronation event is supposed to take place, the Speaker decides to stop in vicinity of the great hall that is draped with Anuvian flags and other regal symbology.

The General Diplomat clasps her hands together after signaling the guards in front of the hall that they will enter slightly latter than intended, "Now don't give me that look, Speaker. We have a face, a presence and we definitely have some if not shred of influence. Don't forget how the Golden Throne decided to help us in that fiasco."

"Sigh, as you say then General Diplomat. Perhaps we could leverage something more out of this?" The Speaker, knew that the General Diplomat is unhappy judging by her tone of voice purposely avoid making eye contact with her while exchanging gesture pleasantries to attending Mokan nobles and other guests that are currently entering the Grand Hall.

"Now you're interested on why we go to great lengths to attend noble pleasantries whilst we have a State to run." The General Diplomat, wary of her surrounding emulates the same as she proceed to start walking again. "Diplomacy is a warfare in itself and you of all qualified personnel should know a great deal out of it. I expect great things, Speaker."

A few steps after entering the hall, the Speaker faces the General Diplomat. "Perhaps. Lead me then."

"Oh please, I thought it's supposed for men to lead the way?"

The Speaker simply shrugged her sarcastic remark and replied with his own, "I suppose I shouldn't repeat to you, General Diplomat that I do not posses the same expertise as yours, truly. That's why you're here correct?"

"Okay okay, as you wish, Speaker of the Central Military Commission." She immediately responds to his remark with out of image tone.

The Speaker finally gave in to her expectation and freely admitted his guilt, "Oh, don't give me that tone, General Diplomat. You know you're better than me at this."

"Would you like some refreshments, Sir and Madam?" Whilst strolling near one of the banquet tables, one of the Palace servants approached the pair.

The General Diplomat simply dismissed the servant with a thin smile, "Thank you for the offer but latter, Waiter."

"Now why did you reject him? I was technically thirsty." The Speaker continued to keep the conversation within her hearing range as he nods to other guests' gestures that have noticed their presence in the Grand Hall.

General Diplomat Anabelle-Kyomi gives another smile not toward the servant but to the Speaker as she sighted the presence of Golden Throne's royalty in the hall. "Shhs. Watch and learn, Speaker."

"A good day to thee, His Imperial Majesty Fedor and Her Imperial Grace Sophie." Unsurprisingly, the General Diplomat rapidly affixed a formal tone in contrast of her previous conversation with the Speaker, before lightly bowing to the Emperor. "I'm General Diplomat Anabelle-Kyomi from Haize Diplomat Office and here is my companion Speaker Vasily-Karataka from Haize Central Military Commission."

"As top Junta representatives, we're pleased to initiate a conversation with Your Highness. Should there are anything within view, please do not hesitate to ask us." As she rises her head, she unconsciously clasps her hand together while the Speaker assumes a formal gesture as briefed by the Diplomat Office on dealing with royalties. Nevertheless, the Speaker still show some cues of awkwardness simply due to the fact Haishan haven't met with any foreign dignitaries of late except occasional lower-ranked Macabee representatives.

There was some commotion near the entrance, although Fedor could not see what it was all about from where he stood. Neither did it concern him too much. He did overhear some gossip, something about the Mokans holding the Ordenite entourage while allowing the Haize to enter the palace almost immediately. Fedor chuckled, it made sense, as the Mokans and the Ordenites did not get along together very well since the latter imprisoned Montana Inc's founder's newphew, Angel Montana. There were Macabees implicated in that international ordeal as well, although they were Sarcanzans and Fedor could more about lint floating in the air than he could about Sarcanzans. It had been Sarcanza that had joined the Weigari rebellion during the War, and the fighting there had been some of the toughest of the conflict. The Macabee emperor quickly turned his mind to other matters, however, as he turned to speak to Sophie. With a smile, he said, "I have to say, my dear, this is certainly better than one of our dinner parties back home, eh?"

She snorted in as graceful a manner as the empress of the Golden Throne possibly could, and in a lowered voice responded, "You may very well be right, husband. And perhaps the Anuien or Mokans will liven this gathering up soon with a little poison for the bloodstream."

Fedor was about to give a witty retort when he caught two figures walking towards him from the corner of his eye. By their garb, they were Haize. Fedor outstretched his arm and lightly touched Sophie on her arm, "My love, the Haize are coming to speak with us. I implore you to be on your best behavior. These are important friends of the Empire."

"When have I done otherwise?" Sophie said, with but a light touch of sarcasm.

Haishan and the Golden Throne had slowly, but steadily, cultured a bilateral relationship that was beginning to flower. The eastern Díenstadi country had been one of the first to join GATA, and they were the most enthusiastic of the idea when the Imperial Government had first proposed it. The two countries were immediately rewarded for their decisions, with Macabee banking growing in Haishan, and Haize technology quickly earning market share throughout the Second Empire. The ever expanding Macabee financial presence in Haishan, in turn, allowed for the funding of Haize war technologies, many of which were offered to the Golden Throne. These would soon be tested in Theohuanacu and perhaps against the Scandinvans, if they persisted in challenging the Golden Throne's authority over the pirate cities in southern Theohuanacu. There was a budding trust between them and the opportunity for the further development of the friendship was clear. What better time to continue the trend than at a coronation, where Fedor could speak to the Haize directly.

One introduced herself as General Diplomat Anabelle-Kyom, and the other was Speaker Vasily-Karataka. Fedor found it interesting that the former had spoken for the latter, but perhaps it was Haize custom for those of lesser authority to introduce members of the Central Military Commission. Or perhaps that's just how events had unfolded at that moment, and it wasn't worth reading into it. Whatever the case, Fedor smiled back and nodded his head, stopping short of a bow. "General Diplomat, Speaker of the Central Military Commission, I am pleased to see you here. It is a rare event for I to have the honor to speak to the Haize, especially two of such hierarchy as yourselves."

Sophie nodded deeply as well, a little more than her husband had, and followed, "Quite. Neither have I yet been to your country. Perhaps Fedor and I will do so soon, if the Haize shall have us."

Fedor turned from Sophie back to both Anabelle-Kyom and Vasily-Karataka. As he wasn't sure what custom was as regards to who deserved Fedor's attention, he attempted to divide it equally amongst them. "Yes, in fact my dear Sophie reminds me of something. It is far past due for me to go to Haishan and speak to you, and your peers, about your people, your politics, and the relationship between our two countries. I am honored to have been able to witness the unfolding a growing friendship between the Imperial Government and the Central Military Commission, knowing how carefully the Haize government chooses its friends. Rapports based on trust and an expectation of mutual concern for each other are those that I value most, and I sense that the future is bright for Haize–Macabee relations." An example came to mind, "In fact, as you may know, we share an alliance with Hailandkill, and that alliance was born out of many years of trust-building. I hope that we are headed in a similar direction. It would be a shame——"

Sophie gently interrupted him, smiling and addressing the two Haize politicians, "You must pardon my husband, sometimes he gets carried away when he's excited."

There was no hint of a change in emotion in Fedor's face, which still carried the same genuine grin. "Yes, yes, I suppose Sophie is right." He cut it short at that to return the floor to the Haize.

The Kaiser, after draining about three glasses of whiskey that was of a quality no common person would ever even lay eyes on, began to purposefully look around the room. A bit of alcohol was finally in his blood, and he determined himself to being at least mildly sociable. Obtaining another glass, he drank half of it immediately and started walking. The Kaiserin hastened to catch up, laying hold to His Majesty's finely-clothed arm as his long legs strode against the ornate floor.

They were not a popular couple. Her Imperial Majesty Adelaida was obviously uninvolved in politics, and mainly concerned herself with charitable endeavors and the occasional fashion show. Her utter beauty and lack of a conflicting personality was definitely an attractant. What was not, was her marriage to a brutal, militaristic emperor, who though handsome, was known to not blink an eye at the personal witness of executions. He was a powerful man, and a man who knew only business, power, and the maintenance of order. Everything else was frivolity. His stance was that of a military man, his personality, his attitude, his dress, were all reminiscent of a powerful conqueror. And conquer he did, everything in his way.

Making their way around the edge of the Grand Hall, Benedikt caught sight of the Castillian delegation. Castille de Italia had left the Anti-Communism Alliance — a pet project of His Majesty's — in disgrace. Its monarchic and imperial government had been overthrown by populist fascism. This enraged the German Emperor mainly because it implied a weakness in his alliance's governance. He had no problem with National Socialism, or Fascism, or any other political ideology, except those which threatened the expansion of his Empire. Which was what Marxist ideology did. But it was time for that to be put behind him. Their nations had mended relations after the change in government. The Supreme Leader was in power now, and so long as he was pro-German, the Kaiser had no problem with him.

The Chancellor of Castille, J. Oswald Vaughn IV, and his mistress, Else von Grünwald, who was actually a subject of the German Empire, were just ahead. Striding forward with his wife in tow, His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Benedikt von Steinbach approached the Castillian delegation. “Mister Vaughn!” the Kaiser said. It was not an intentional slight; Imperial German protocol demanded he addressed all non-royals with the same style. “It is nice to see you again. And this beautiful woman as well..” Benedikt kissed Else's hand. If one thought they had not slept together, one was ignorant.

“How has your nation been faring? This is the first time Adelaida and I have gotten out in a while. I've been focusing on some philosophical studies, as well as some minor disturbances in those impetuous colonies of mine.” His Majesty chuckled. Fucking provincial savages.

Approached by a familiar face, the Chancellor gave a huge grin when the Kaiser called out to him. "Mister Vaughn!" he had said, which although in most circumstances would be a direct insult to the most powerful man in the Castillian National Socialist State, it would be allowed here. The Chancellor was familiar with German customs, and given the friendship between the two heads-of-state, it wasn't in the least a insult towards Chancellor Vaughn.

But nevertheless, it was always a pleasure to see the Kaiser. Their friendship had gone back before he had assumed control of Castille de Italia. Chancellor Vaughn was a renowned diplomat and military strategist, and was often the Imperial envoy to the German Empire on several occasions. During this time the Chancellor had become well acquainted to the Kaiser, and had been a key part of the Anti-Communism Alliance's affairs alongside the late Princess Alyssa Giovanni, who was executed for supposed war crimes.

"Ah, Kaiser Steinbach, it is always a pleasure to see you, as well as Her Imperial Majesty. Evening to you Adelaida," he said as he nodded towards the Kaiser's wife. "I am quite familiar with your affairs I would say," the Chancellor began as he took another sip of whiskey. "I've heard reports of some sort of uprising in the far German colonies. Damned peasants, always causing chaos."

The Chancellor then set his empty shot glass on a passing servants tray. "As for affairs in the Castillian National Socialist State, everything is fair. There's a bloody fucking war to the north in Annexed Castleclose, damn the Royal Imbrinium Military and King Marcius himself. We've had some of those minor disturbances you had mentioned as well, but to my knowledge the Ministry of State Security is weeding out the dissidents."

A quick flash of rage went through the Chancellor's body for a moment, although this was not visible to anyone but himself. "Nevertheless, everything is fine in the State. We've kept mostly to ourselves until King fucking Marcius dumped his hounds on the shores of northern Castleclose, but apparently it was a 'big misunderstanding' and a 'fault in intelligence'," the Chancellor joked. "Other than that, I think it's to the point where the State is needing to reassert itself onto the world stage. We have truly prospered since I took command, and our naval capabilities are ready to support combat operations across the globe. It's just a matter on who we decide to annex next," the Chancellor said, grabbing a glass of wine off of another waiter's tray.

OOC: Posting with OP permission.   Sorry for the delay! Exams and what not.   I’ll be RPing that they arrived on time and just consorted with various guests and what not.

IC:

Mac Anu

“I do wish that the famiglia ducale would try to contain their excitement regarding coronations, Chancellor.   It sends the wrong message to those noble families who still remember the Di Canossas as the friends of the King.   We shall forego the use of the less formal term for such.”

Cardinal-Vice Chancellor Adiri swirled his champagne glass clockwise to counteract the centripetal force of the limousine taking a particularly abrupt left.   He raised it to lips pursed by the bitterness of the words which left them and sipped.   His face gave no sign as to his thoughts on the champagne.   He made a waving gesture with his free hand and his attendant, a Monsignor Darnotelli, raised a linen embroidered with crimson crosses to the clergyman’s lips and wiped the excess champagne that had coalesced thereupon.

Opposite the Cardinal, Ludovico crossed his legs.

“The Chancellery of Foreign Nations is dedicated to maintaining excellent relations with nations of all systems of government, creeds, and ethnic backgrounds.   That means sitting in the galleries of Senates, smoking cigars in the back rooms of Politburos, shouting with Members of Parliament, and, yes, attending Coronations. “

The Clergyman-Statesman nodded.   “And the Chancellery of Internal Affairs shall do its business by ensuring that no-one within the Most Serene Republic, God preserve it, shall attempt to use their position in such to improve their or their family’s posture.   With… say, a marriage?”

Ludovico chuckled.   “Now, why the accusatory tone?   Di Canossas are notoriously good looking.   It’s not our fault that several royal families we’ve interacted with in recent memory have desired to marry one or   two of us.”

“One might wonder…” the Cardinal continued, “Why the Di Canossas do not wed their children to proper noble Delmontese families and seem so fixated on marrying them to foreigners.   Royals at that.   Delmontese Persons of Quality are surely lined up out the door of the Piazzo Del Toro to wed members of the famiglia ducale.”

Here the Cardinal paused to drain the remainder of his champagne and have his mouth wiped once more by his loyal Monsignor.

“But in your… rush” this last word he blustered, “To grab the hands of foreigners, you have knocked several of these down those very same steps.   Many of those you have passed over do not take kindly to such insult.   My youngest nephew-”

“Now I’m confused, Your Eminence.   I thought you said that it was the duty of the Internal Chancellery to ensure that no-one in the Republic’s esteemed government used their position to acquire a strategic position, somewhat particularly regarding marriages.   Was I incorrect in that understanding?   We can take this up with the Chancellery of Excessive Graft and Corruption, who are already very suspicious of bishops and cardinals being given plum government appointments. “

The Cardinal pursed his lips even tighter and straightened up defensively.   Ludovico glanced down at some dossiers he had been leafing through, licked his thumb, and proceeded to page through them once more.

“Yes…” He said, absentmindedly, “They would love to get their hands on you, wouldn’t they?   It wouldn’t be your first run-in with them.   I know it wouldn’t be.   Now, I don’t… underestimate you…” Ludovico concentrated on flipping a particularly unruly page before moving on, “However, you are not impossible to defeat.   You owe your position not to your skill, which has admittedly grown over your tenure, or your family name, which is rather common, but to your Church title.   Your conduct in ecclesiastical affairs is beyond question and you are a respected religious leader.  You would be difficult to take down, but not impossible.  In a battle in the Papacy, you would win.   The Di Canossas have a cardinal and bishops in our number, but you are far more venerable and well connected than any of them.  However, in a showdown here in the Republic you would lose decisively.   You would lose your office and be forced to retire to serve as an advisor to the Papacy.   The progress you’ve made in elevating your family would be largely lost.   Do I make myself clear?”

Ludovico glanced up to see the Cardinal-Vice Chancellor nod curtly and gained an odd satisfaction from seeing his Monsignor-Attendant’s fuming visage.   Ludovico looked down at his documents once more.

“That being said, I would rather have you added to the ranks of our friends in the Papacy as well as those in Delmonte.   So here is what I propose: You help me in facilitating what will, by all accounts, be a perfectly formal presence at this Coronation which may result in marriage negotiations.   Such negotiations will have your blessing and approval as a Cardinal and as the Vice-Chancellor of Internal Affairs.   In exchange, we will work something out for that nephew of yours.   And your niece, on your sister’s husband’s side, ought to stop her pursuit of the cloth and marry Giardi Rivolinni.”

Adiri considered this for a moment.

“And what are the potential matches for my nephew, if Iwere interested in such an offer?”

“It doesn’t matter.   They will be young, comely, well-endowed, and well-dowered.   And most importantly they will be Di Canossas.   I hope your nephew enjoys being invited to cocktail parties.   Ah, we’ve arrived.”

Ludovico and Adiri stepped out of the limousine, Adiri with assistance from his younger aide, and made their way to the entrance of the Palace.   Ludovico was dressed in his dark red and blue robes of office (with a business suit underneath) while the Cardinal was in his crimsons with a red and blue sash to signify that he was also a Vice-Chancellor.   Monsignor Darnotelli trailed the cardinal, carrying with him the tools of the Cardinal’s various offices, i.e. stamps, seals, parchment, etc.

As the trio approached the palace guards, they were halted.   Ludovico handed them the requisite paperwork.

“I am Ludovico Di Canossa, Chancellor of Foreign Nations for the Most Serene Republic of Delmonte.   I am accompanied by Cardinal Adiri, Vice-Chancellor of Internal Affairs for the same.   We have neither guards nor weapons.   Nor, I trust, would we need them.”

After being admitted, Ludovico and Adiri conversed with several of the guests while waiting for the proceedings to begin.   At length Ludovico saw an opening to talk to Elizabeth Franshaw, Aqua Aqu’s foreign minister.   Once she was free, Ludovico approached her and extended both hands in greeting.

“I am glad to see you well since we last spoke.   Though the focus of today’s ceremony is obviously on Her Highness, we ministers mustn’t forget one another.   You are to be congratulated in facilitating this day, even managing to get some of your former enemies to attend and acknowledge your Queen’s rule.   Fascists are a peculiar sort.   We’ve had some in Delmonte recently, but nothing we couldn’t handle.   Our peculiar sort of democracy has triumphed in the past and will continue to do so.   If I may, what would be the ideal outcome from today in terms of your nation’s foreign policy goals?”

The Capital of Aqua

They knew they were late but not much could be helped having waited in Osea for the military to get here people ready an escort north. The Far East wasn’t since the war, even with peace talks and a ceasefire in the west there was still heavy fighting with Morrdh. Plus the Crown’s approval rating in the east was way down do to its war operations around the region. The Duke was the cousin of King Sobairce who would be in his place but after Prince Augusto had been gravely injured in combat in West Mordent.
Duke Sebastiano Sobairce and his wife the duchies Petronilla Sobairce where here with a small group of military officers mainly naval officers from the royal navy. The admirals that command the 6th fleet out of Osea.

The group arrived where the Coronation was taking place in armoured SUVs and where escorted to the doors by the security detail dressed in suits. The only members allowed into the Coronation where six security personal that where unarmed their main goal if something went down was to get the royals out to the counter assault teams and out of the area.

The duke was dressed in his formal military officer suit as being a formal naval commander of a carrier. The duchy’s was dressed in her formal royal dress in all its beauty. There were high ranking persons from every high ranking government in GD both friend and foe to the crown.

The goal was to show support for the royal family of Mokastana, having very few royal families in power in the region the strong support of what was around was very important to the crown. The events inside the crown where putting as much pressure on the crown as the war has, so as much support the crown could get around the region the better things might be.

Things with the government of Mokastana had been a love & hate relationship in the regional war. At times on the side of the crown and others on the side of the enemies of the crown, but this was a time to support the royals of Mokastana and hopefully gain more support in the east.
When I was young I used to pray for a bike, then I realized that God doesn't work that way, so I stole a bike and prayed for forgiveness.

The Morridane Archduchess Lothwyn continued to mingle amongst the assembled guests with glass in, exchanging pleasantries but never fully committing to a full conversation. She passed by Fedor and his wife Sophie engaged in a discussion with what she took to be the Haize delegation, nodding a greeting as she went by. Things between the Commonwealth and the Golden Throne were interesting in the pair of wary predators unsure what to make of each other kind of way, in some respect it was almost kind of awkward. Each had their own sphere of influence but increasingly those spheres had overlapped in recent times, Indras and Panooly being prime examples. With the latter the Commonwealth did reach out diplomatically, though very little had come out of that and many have commented whether the attempt at establishing diplomatic relations was a stillborn.

Only time would tell.

The Kaiser chuckled at Vaughn's confidence. Good to see the Castillians establishing a place in the region. Imperialists needed to assert themselves and expand to continue their existence.

"I'm glad you, and the nation, are prospering," Benedikt said as he was handed his fourth glass of whiskey. "It pleases me to see you haven't allowed the wrath of liberals to encroach on your authority since the ACA's dissolution."

"And yes, we've had some small issues over in Tyrrhenia. Its distance makes it a bit troublesome to rule directly, so we've mainly let them alone. It appears that was a foolish decision. Decades of prosperity, we gave them. Security. Freedom and privilege. And they repay the Fatherland with stupidity and reckless dissent. Damn colonials. Can't trust a single one." He took a small sip of liquor, then reached into his uniform, removing a metal case emblazoned with the Imperial Coat of Arms, containing several Stellevonblakker cigars. "Though I do have the desire for one of their cigars. Made from premium German tobacco, of course, but it's cured and rolled over in Stellevonblakk. Care for one?" Placing one in his own mouth, he proffered another to the Chancellor.

"I must say, this is quite the palace," the emperor commented. "Of course, my own Stadtschloss is perhaps more imposing and of course preferred. But this is indeed quite fine."

The interior of the vehicle was covered in a blanket of thick smoke obscuring the passengers from outside view. The hand-rolled cigarette was a constant feature of President Vasco Navigati's face and Urulandian media frequently joked that it was physically attached to him. The truth was it helped him think and rolling them gave him something to do with his hands, having them be idle felt wrong.

Urulandia had finally risen from a rural backwater under the control of despotic strongmen into an industrial nation. Vasco now wanted to establish Urulandia on the world stage. If Urulandia was going to continue to develop as a nation then it would need partners and allies. A event such as this, although in complete contrast to his personal beliefs, was an opportunity to help his country.

The President was a broad man and at forty-one was still quite sturdy, a reminder of his revolutionary days. He wore the same suit he wore to every event, a black suit jacket and pants with a white shirt. Never a tie, he hated ties. He was comfortable in this attire. It was befitting of his personality, he didn't like to flaunt wealth or draw attention. If Vasco Navigati wanted your attention he would command it himself. His cabinet asked him to send the Minister of Foreign Affairs, as the President was known to be a blunt man with little skill for diplomacy or politics. But he insisted. This was his responsibility.

The President arrived in Mac Anu and was instantly fascinated by the architecture. It was like nothing he had seen before. He was totally against in personally, "How could something like this be justified, such lavishness", but he still understood it to be beautiful. He brought no one with him except for Pablo Nallez, his Head of Security. The President used his personal car for the trip, the same car he has been using for ten years. It was easily spotted amid the jet black or luxury vehicles of the other leaders. The car eventually came to a halt just as Vasco was lighting another cigarette. What looked like a Royal Guard came to the door to open it, but Vasco beat him to it. I can open my own doors he thought to himself. He shook the man's hand and thanked him for the gesture.

Vasco and Pablo passed through security without issue. The President brought no weapons to show his hosts that he felt safe here, hoping to flatter them. They made there way inside to make an attempt at mingling and also hoping to find free alcohol.

President Milano walked past as the Germans and Castillians shared stories from times gone by. The strong smell of German Tobacco lingered in the air. Its strong and thick order was far different from the smoother and more relaxing Mokan Tobacco back home. It seemed even the smoking preferences between these Fascists and their Socialist hosts had come to disagree. Still there were other guests to meet and discuss important events with. To his far right, the Morridane Archduchess Lothwyn sipped her drink and appeared to be measuring the crowd, much like he was. Whether the Commonwealth was here looking for friends or for a hand in marriage, only time would tell.

He already had good relations with the Morridanes, at least diplomatically. Military deployments and the Federation's 'sort of' neutral stance in the war had helped show the Northerners the Mokans were friends. Still, he would need to remember to swing by her some time during the Coronation to save face.

His prime goal at the moment, was the Fedor of the Golden Throne, who happened to be speaking with some high Ranking Haize diplomats. Staying far, he listened to their conversation. Gauging the relationship between the two before walking into the conversation to play 'good hosts'. Both had promised to be good partners in the future, but for the moment there was still a bit of distrust in the air. Perhaps it would clear all in time.

Elsewhere, Charles Villa scanned the crowd, and upon seeing the Duke from Imbrinium, he approached and gave a firm handshake and offered to get the couple and their officers a drink:

"Welcome welcome! It is a pleasure to see you here. I was worried that our idiotas in Parliament might have scared you off, but trust me. You are in good company. May I get you anything?"

"Peculiar is not the word I would use, but yes. They do have a way of always surviving." Elizabeth had always been an outspoken Socialist, even partaking in a few demonstrations during her youth. Still, she had grown up well enough to know not to stay on one offensive topic for too long, so she quickly changed demeanor back to professional as the conversation moved on.

"Today is simply to celebrate the blessing of Lady Gisella Villa as she takes the crown of Aqua Anu and reforms the Queendom within a Federal Nation. As for goals, we are always looking for new friends and nations to build relations with. I would love to stay and talk, but another guest is arriving. If you would like, the Presidents and leaders of many Federal nations are inside. Have a great day."

Behind the representatives from Delmonte, the representatives from Urulandia arrived and Elizabeth could tell from his demeanor that this man probably had more in common with the Villas and her Father and Uncle than any politician here. To the Urulandians, their first meeting with their Hispanic neighbors probably seemed a little strange when they flew out East to an Oriental Nation with German Architecture, and a Pale Red headed woman standing at the door to greet them. However, when she spoke, her Mokan upbringing was clear as day. From the rolling of her 'r's to the almost rapid way she spoke:

"Welcome to Mac Anu, I am Elizabeth Franshaw, Foreign Minister for the People's Unified Federation. We are happy to finally meet you."

The first to catch the glimpse of Morridane royalty was the Speaker's alert character, "Good day, Archduchess Lothwyn."

"Likewise, greetings, Archduchess Lothwyn of Morridane State." General Diplomat quickly continued his address with formality.

The General Diplomat nodded slightly to the Morridane royalty and then proceed to speak again to the Macabee emperor, "Sorry for the brief interruption. Where was we? Oh yes...consider an invitation letter to Haishan for Your Majesty and Her Grace, personally written by Sashan Vidin shall arrive tomorrow in form. We would like to extend an apology on behalf of Haize Junta that Sashan Vidin cannot attend in person to greet Your Majesty at current time but we're more than happy to arrange one as per aforementioned."

"General Diplomat, if you may?" Her speech is timely cut with the Speaker concise voice.

The General Diplomat moves slightly backward in response, "Goodness gracious, how discourteous of me. Go ahead, Speaker."

"I believe an apology is in order for this awkward situation, having General Diplomat to introduce us rather than myself. The error is mine as we're not sure how to interact with others apart from ourselves-it's recently that Haishan have looked at a greater stage." The Speaker immediately continued her pace without pause whilst carefully observing the Macabee royalty, "Please be at ease that such blunder is temporary. Well to us, it doesn't matter on whom speaks first but we will consider the first to do so is committed and accountable thus worthy of our attention."

"The Junta shall see to it so that a prosperous acknowledgement will be etched into hallows of history, Your Majesty. However, I'm intrigued on what do Your Eminence meant as the Junta is intricate on building relations out of many choices. Isn't that Golden Throne have justified the Junta decision is not maligned? It's in the interest of the Junta which Golden Throne continues to prove our choice is not wrong." Whilst looking less awkward than before, the Speaker subtly hinted at his seriousness through his voice.

He paused for a short breather and then proceed to finish his intended sentence, "Haishan values honesty and commitment above everything else, therefore some may see us as cryptic given we're not yet adapted to nuances and layers of international relations."

The General Diplomat on the other hand caught the Speaker's subtle intention that he wishes to carry out the conversation further thus she decides to stay on the sidelines whilst lightly observing her vicinity with light caution.

It was as if Fedor hadn't noticed when the General Diplomat took a step back to make it clear that the Speaker held seniority here. In fact, Fedor had appreciated it, as he surely could have just as well accidentally insulted one or the other out of ignorance of Haize politics. It was, in any case, an ignorance he planned to correct as soon as he stepped foot on Fedala again. He'd have some of his Krierlords give him a daily lecture on Haishan, her people, and her politics, so that by the time Fedor and Sophie visited the far-eastern Díenstadi nation he'd be able to make up for whatever shortcomings his manners may have shown today. It was a rare event that Fedor was fully up to speed with the customs of a major foreign nation, especially in Greater Díenstad, but Haishan was something of a special case. Their relative isolationism, including minimal tourism by the standards of a more open, cosmopolitan country, meant that there had been little opportunity to get to know them better. Not a mark against them, by any means, just a matter of fact. But, all that mattered little now, as Fedor had to do with the skills and knowledge he had on hand.

Fedor had caught Vasily-Karataka's question concerning what the Macabee emperor had said. Perhaps his reference to Haishan's pickiness at the hour of developing international relations had been too...offhand. Being careless in speech certainly invited thoughtless expression, which could just as easily be interpreted one way as it could another. Before he could assuage the Haize, however, Mokan President Henry Milano came into his view, still partially hidden behind the small groups of bureaucrats and aristocrats conversing with each other in the large hall. Milano was headed their way, but he stopped some distance away. Before the second hand on the large, circular, gold-trimmed clock above could finish the click it was on, Sophie's arm quickly, but elegantly, tapped Fedor's arm. His smile ever present, he turned to his wife and gave a slight, almost unnoticeable nod. She turned to the Speaker and said, "Excuse me, I see Mr. Milano there...seemingly looking for us here, but having some difficulty navigating the throngs. I will bring him here." She gave a nod to the Speaker, and then to the General Diplomat, finally peeling away from the group to catch Milano.

Now alone with the two Haize, Fedor proceeded to respond to Vasily-Karataka. "Speaker, I apologize if I misspoke. I meant nothing by my comment other than the fact that Haishan clearly chooses her allies well, and to do so you uphold high standards. It is an honor to know that the Golden Throne is considered within those honors."

He paused for a brief moment as a waiter came by with a tray of liquor-filled glasses held high above his head with his right arm. The man stopped by Fedor, bowed to him and the two Haize, and finally used his free hand to grab a sort of whiskey on the rocks and hand it to the emperor of the Golden Throne. He bowed again, its depth regulated by the fact the man was carrying a large, round tray, and politely said, "My apologies for interrupted, Your Imperial Highness." It was not a heartbeat later that he was again one his way to another guest in the crowd, drinks overhead.

Before he could get away too far, Fedor stopped him. "Good sir, I am sure your Haize guests would like something to drink."

The General Diplomat and the Speaker gave their responses to the waiter, who then turned to go back about his business. He quickly disappeared within the crowd, darting between the guests. The waiter no doubt had other aristocrats and high-ranking bureaucrats to tend do with the booze he carried.

Fedor took a sip from his short glass before continuing his response to Vasily-Karataka. "I see a bright future for Haize–Macabee relations. Our values are harmonious, and I am more than sure that both the Golden Throne and Haishan will prove to each other time and time again that we are more than worthy partners. Our loyalties to the commitments we make are unquestionable, unlike those of others." His eyes darted to the Ordenites, now shuffling into the room after their previous ordeal, but were back on the Speaker's as soon as they weren't. An inherent distrust in the United World Order had ruined an otherwise promising friendship. Haishan, on the other hand, was a country the Golden Throne could rely on to remain true to their word. "The Golden Throne is a selective partner, as well. We look for allies we can trust, allies we know won't hurt us when our guard is down."

As he finished, Sophie and President Milano were walking towards the three-person group. Fedor's attention, however, was squarely on the Haize.
