Light cannons have great advantages in mobility when compared to heavier ones. They're also a LOT cheaper.
I assume I wouldn't have to many heavy guns? Also would a light artillery heavy netherlands be out of place (a battery of guns per birgade (3-4))?
I think artillery was traditionally attached at the divisional level. Usually 1 or 2 batteries each, depending on the type of division. Artillery did, however, also exist as independent brigades/regiments.
