What is Cavalry cause I have gotten very confused. Some people have powered armored soldiers and some have tanks. Which is it? Cause currently I have Tanks as Horse Artillery.

'Cavalry' in the year 3300 (or whatever year it is ICly) is a general term for elite/shock troops, and can refer either to armoured vehicles, power-armoured soldiers or whatever shock troops the nation in question utilises. Actual horses aren't used anymore so the term is used to denotate anything that fulfills the same role.

Not True the new Afgan Khante uses Bio-enhanced horses as part of its Hordes lol if you check Golden hordes sig in his factbook right at the end if the bit for E:E, interesting concept he uses actually.

Lol my Regiments have a total of 750 men in them in some regiments say the engineers or artillery, they all cant Fire a cannon at once so others a delegated to other jobs their still a regiment but each regiment is split up into 4 battalions lol my Army factbook isnt finished yet i still need to do alot more Structural balancing and stuff its a rough skeleton untill i get the Broad lines drawn out.

and the Lance tanks have a 4' gun, Taken from a frigate, these tanks are tracked fortress's they house 2 small void shield generators.

You might consider reinstating them to some degree, possibly as a result of the performance of your soldiers in the Vietnam War (or possibly Annam War ). But, really, it's all up to you guys.

Quantity doesn't always beat quality
The Dutch, while not the best soldiers, can probably do some serious damage to the American army should they so foolishly attempt to invade any Dutch possessions. Part of this would be due to the fact that Americans really didn't make good soldiers in the era of linear combat. Most soldiers from 'liberal' states didn't. Even the French had issues with it, which, rather amusingly, led to their developing excellent skirmishers and winning lots of battles.

However, in a stand up fight, the Dutch would probably drive the Americans back.


In general, it's important to remember that battles were usually about making your opponent run away. Prolonged exchanges of musket fire were rare, as were pitched bayonet battles. Usually one side would run away after a few volleys, or even before the enemy had made contact.



On cavalry:
'Cavalry' basically refers to any mechanized soldiers. Whether they're in tanks or some other wheeled/tracked combat vehicle or armor. These basically fill the same roles as cavalry did, so I believe it makes sense

Kwl mine are meant o be actual tanks that Basically are the First into an assault, meant to soften up and hopefully brake the enemies line leaving the remnants for the line infantry and such, Mostly Like Lancers in the 18th century

Ahh. I have 3 types of tanks, the artillery one, a cavalry/close combat one (equipped with lots of rapid fire weapons, meant for fighting within shields) and a sort of main battle one (tags along with skirmishers and line infantry to add enough firepower to break shields (3' gun))

Netherlands, just a suggestion here:

Your army is a bit, uh, topheavy. My suggestion is to cut the Guard units down to 5 infantry, 2 artillery, 2 horse artillery, and 3 horse, and to rearrange the regular army something along these lines:

Regular Army:
245 Line Infantry Regiments
100 Jaeger regiments
50 Zware Infantry
10 Commandotroepen Regiments
40 Dragoon Regiments
10 Hussar Regiments
5 Curissars
10 Artillery Regiments
10 Horse Artillery Regiments

Colonial Forces:
20 Congolese Line Infantry
10 Congolese Light Infantry

5 Ceylonese Infantry

5 Malaysian Infantry

60 Indonesian Infantry
-20 Sumatran
-20 Bornean
-10 Javanese
-10 New Guinea

10 Guyanese Infantry

5 Caribbean Island Infantry

12 Mercurial Infantry
6 Mercurial Cavalry

Plus varying numbers of soldiers from the various moons you have, depending on which ones you think are most habitable/important.



This increases your army a bit in terms of size, although you have fewer 'elite' soldiers this way, quantity CAN be important

I'm personally a fan of the philosophy that the rest of the army is just there to hold the enemy down for the elite regiments to flank them

Right you are. Just remember to keep a low elite:regular ratio. I mean, historically the Netherlands had something like...2 cavalry regiments. Their cavalry arm was quite tiny

Cavalry doesn't work well when there is water up to there knees.

Also I think you misunderstood my Commandotroepen regiments, they are my version of Jaegers and Royal Marines mixed together.

Plus, if they're an elite (or semi-elite) regiment, they get more prestige, so to speak, people say "OH DAMN ITS THE COMMANDOTROEPEN!" rather than "Oh, it's just the commandotroepen."

And it's probably a good idea to have dedicated light infantry in case you run up against a non-EE state.

If its such a big weapon why dont you stick a massive coolant device onto it? instead of having a guy with a spray gun lol, and Linier weapons of this age are extremely ineffective, im using Chemical based Laser Repeaters for mine (Bulky and dont have the Same Damage as a linier weapon how ever they can fi for longer and at faster speeds). or solid Slug bolt action weapons i haven't quite decided. i have a new interesting concept how ever which I think is quite ingenious
