Hello, I'd like to take part as Afghanistan though it seems it is a British Fiefdom of sorts (great game and all). Since to my knowledge Britain is not claimed who would I talk to about forming the Afghan Khanate?

I already have a factbook geared towards the 1790s, with a few edits and some copy-paste action it can be made to suit the sexy steampunk setting we have here.

Also for the record I was Florentine Italia. With summer break here I suddenly have much more time to post (starting July 17th, vacation eats up my life starting Tuesday night). What drove me away initially was the lack of passion that I felt in regards to Italy after I created the nation. I know I enjoy contemplating Afghans in space much more than the Kingdom of Italy and as such would like to request Afghanistan.

Though since I was already a member I understand if you deny me.

(OMG, we have a nice little war brewing on Novo Azov if you ask me though I apologize for my inability to RP space combat.)

A future Italian player is free to reunite Italy should they so choose. If they want it to remain as city states, whether playing only one of them or controlling all of them, either as warring factions or in a sort of confederacy, that's up to them.

yep, creating a couple city-states in the occupied zones is up to the person RP'ing that area. So Ordania might recreate the Kingdom of Two Scilies if he wants. When/If a new Italy character comes along it pretty much depends on how he wants to handle things reuniting the nation right off or maybe he would use one city state to force unification on the others, or keep it fragmented...its up to him.

Mostly the intent is to keep our "history" flowing even though the former Italy dropped out. Rather then retcon the conflict and its consequences we are moving along the plot lines. It will i hope give the new Italy if/when we get one sufficient material to work with as he pulls his country together.

And there are no Venetian troops in Italy. As I have informed France via TG, Venice only invaded Italy's colonial possessions. On that note, I would be interested in coming back and trying this out again, since it seems interest has picked up again and to be frank, I miss it. I am currently wrestling with the dilemma of whether to play Venice again, or start with a new country and a clear slate- I have my eye on Japan, though I did lend a thought to the idea of playing Thailand (but with the name changed to Siam, of course ). If I were to go back to playing Venice again, I would like to know if anyone would mind me starting again from the point before the whole Italy mess, as to finally finish off that bloody ancient RP once and for all (also, France, OMG has said that Sardinia is counted as Italy proper and thus cannot be conquered, only occupied. Told you so). In other words, watch this space.

I don't think bringing that war out of the Eden system is a good plan, bringing it to Earth Orbit is just asking for Russian intervention.

Tyrannia I offered you Sardina as a war prize to keep you from using your troops in the colonies against the Allied war effort. It would have prevented us from having to put down your troops. I knew that Sardinia and Sicily were considered homeland and that you probably wouldn't have been allowed to keep Sardinia if a new Italy came along, the thing is I didnt really care if you did, it was a measure offered by my character to prevent a war. Charles was offering you a way out of your own brinkmanship and you declines. OOCly I knew it was unlikely you would be allowed to keep the territory if you took the offer, but it was not that i did not understand the eventuality i just didn't care about you losing a territory in the future.

To be clear again,

Nothing in the Italia is being conquered, its being occupied by the nations that Invaded Italy and its colonies during the war. In the years after the armistice, these players are going to RP the splintering of Italia into numerous city-states, at least the ones i create will have local governments and playable characters. When a new player comes along that wants to RP Italy he will have the opportunity to take one of the successor states or make unify the nation using them.

As far as you reclaiming Venice, that is up to OMG at the end of the day. I would just put forward that any nation that voluntarily withdraws from RP his chosen nation ought not to be allowed to come back and reclaim it at a later date. But if OMG says you can come back it would have to be at our "present" date.

I'm waiting on Ordinia's vote on the matter. Like I said, he and France were the ones most impacted by the sudden dropout.

And dependent on the circumstances of their dropping out, of course.

The Russians actually don't really care what happens in orbit as long as it doesn't affect them or their allies. If you accidentally blow up one of my orbital elevators, for instance, the Hon. Mr. Suvorov and his 64 barrels of pain may come to have a talk with your fleet, though.

Considering that this would most likely make you two allies against, or at least mutual foes of, the Japanese (and, to a lesser degree, the British,) you'll probably have some wonderful chances to make up.

Actually, I was planning on playing as Japan- I don't know much about Thailand other than that they are buddhist, like cats, make good food and have a king. Also, I did say that I was only leaving because of inactivity and that I would come back if I saw an increase in interest, and it seems that there has been. I miss Venice. Also, if I can have Japan, first thing I'll do is attack the French.

OT here. I have nothing to do today, so I will start work on my factbook. Also, the motto I used was the Great Japanese Empire's actual motto- I think it's awesome, and sums up Japan in this era very well. It's good to be back!
