hey if you want to go America you need repeating rifles revolvers and muskets. repeating rifles and revolvers were the biggest thing in America in the late 19th century. though there were still plenty of muskets and muzzle loaders

Repeating rifles are in use everywhere.
The issue is that they heat up REALLY FAST. (Rapid Fire railguns do that). I use them for royal marine weapons because very few people have shields on there ship-defenders, and my guys have to wear heat resistance gloves and other outfits

Ha ha ive been playing around with concepts to put me ahead of the game as tbh ive been playing around in my head with how to make things work and repeating weapons i saw as the way forward... same range (maybe a little less) one hell of a fire rate increase. my problem was as you say heat. being energy weapons they need some where to store the heat or get rid of it.
One of my ideas was alternating Small Magazines like the Lee enfields of the early 19th century.
my idea was as the heat builds up its transferred into the extra magazine locked into the Recharge slot (not quite sure where id put this) but when the first magazine over heats and the second should be fully charged. simply ejecting the first cartredge and injecting the new one still using a lever action of course.
This would drastically increase the rate of fire. how ever it would have to be controlled rate of fire for fear of Overload and blowing your self to bits
i have a few other ideas but ima keep them to me self for now they are rough ideas i need to smooth out
I will let slip how ever i am thinking of a bolt action as both types of weapons where available in the late 18th century

I have a bolt action like the Lee Enfield but it only holds 3 or 4 shots per clip. It can be fired pretty quick but the barrel has to be changed every 4 clips (rate of fire maches the lee enfield)
feel free to join in ! its essentially a colonisation thread, ill have it up soon
and I think I will draw up a map of the solar system.

OOCly? No. But ICly, you'd have quite a fight on your hands, since France and Venice have both claimed it. And Venice hates the Ottomans anyway, so you'd be risking a major war if you attacked- especially with the Venetians all hyped up.

Then Russia would come into it and then Britain would have to come in cause werever the russians are the British are there too. Pretty much it would cause WW4
