Tension Report Application

Submitting Party: SCU
Nation Name of Submitting Party: The Solar Cooperative Union

Affected Quadrant(s): Beta
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Tauris, Strinda
Nation(s) Involved: Solar Cooperative Union

Description: In recent months the long embattled Union Government has careened from one crisis to another, escaping destruction in the Civil War by mere days and then immediately facing a nation on the brink of collapse. Fortunately emergency budget measures, foreign aid and financing and widespread communal efforts have greatly relieved the pressure on the Unions citizens. Shortages of critical supplies have subsided and life is beginning a rapid return to normalcy on all but the most devastated worlds. However, the lessening economic turmoil has shifted pressure onto the political establishment.

Following the Civil War the Civilian Government of the Union has been an interim institution maintaining authority via the repeated invocation of emergency powers. However as normal life is restored these emergency powers have become increasingly defunct. In light of this an extremely rare Charter Convention was called to assembly on Strinda. The last time a Charter Convention occurred was at the end of the Niltheim Conflict, and resulted in the formation of the Solar Cooperative Union in the form it persisted in for over 250 years until the Civil War. At this Charter Convention it became clear that the former Charter was widely viewed as legally and morally defunct by the representatives attending from each Solarian world. In light of this, a new Charter was drafted over several weeks of intense debate and discussion.

The New Charter as its being called, greatly streamlines the legislative process and creates a direct line of governance and communication from the smallest municipality all the way to a Biannual Conclave of Planetary Representatives. The Judicial responsibilities of this new government are delegated to local level administration while responsibility for inter-planetary law enforcement is retained by the Fleet. The Fleet Command is also made a subservient department to the Union Intelligence Directorate in the New Charter. This particular move has raised eyebrows across the military community but voicing dissent as a Officer in the aftermath of an attempted Military Coup is widely discouraged and so it has gone largely unchallenged.

Potential Greater Impact(s): The Union has long been a dark spot in Betan events, but an economic resurgence paired with a newly organized government now promise a post-war swell in political outreach and economic activity coming from the previously isolated state. The exact attitude of the new government remains to be seen but internal trends are indicating a wider degree of cooperation with Betan powers and greater economic integration into the galaxy at large is on the horizon.
Don't look at this

Activity Report Application

Submitting Party: New Dornalia (with assistance from Macisikan)
Nation Name of Submitting Party: Colonial Republic of Earth

Thread Link(s): viewtopic.php?f=5&t=441369
Affected Quadrant(s): Beta
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Macisikan, Beta Quadrant
Nation(s) Involved: Macisikan, New Dornalia

Description: In what is being called a "significant breakthrough" and "the best example of turning a crisis into an opportunity in years", the Colonial Republic of Earth and the Realm of the Federated Star Empire of Macisikan (the Realm) have successfully opened relations with one another--an achievement considering the Realm's strident isolationism. The successful opening of relations began almost accidentally when the crew of the M/V Daisy Duke, prospecting for resources in gas giants, inadvertently entered a Macisikani system, were detained by the Imperial Federal Armed Forces and then released. The encounter then lead to a visit by Captain Elgin Park and the CRS James Blish--one of the Republic's most advanced and capable deep space exploration vessels--which then resulted in the current situation.

As it stands, the Colonial Republic and the Realm have agreed to exchange Ambassadors, and have opened up Embassies in each others' countries to facilitate further communication. Additionally, the two nations have signed a Non-Aggression Pact, known in the Colonial Republic as the Sengrin Agreement, wherein the two nations have agreed to not attack one another. Analysts have noted that the Colonial Republic is one of the few nations to have successfully established relations with the Realm, whose strict isolationism and hostility towards outsiders has otherwise deterred many outsiders hostile or friendly.

However, it has become evident that the two nations' relations are slowly maturing into something more than simple embassy exchanges and non-aggression agreements.

To begin, it appears that the Realm and the Colonial Republic have actually begun a productive, if heavily regulated trade, in luxuries and other goods. Rumor has it that various distilleries within the Republic have suddenly found customers within the Realm willing to pay top dollar for their product, for example. Additionally, rumor has it that the Dornalians and the Realm are cooperating in other fields as well, particularly when it comes to diplomacy and dealings with outside powers.

But, even as diplomacy commences and the Realm is brought closer to the mainstream of Betan diplomacy, there remain some concerns. Analysts note that the Realm, despite some increased interest in the outside world, remains committed to its stridently isolationist course--further complicating its relations with other powers besides the Republic and a few others with whom the Realm maintains current relations. Additionally, even with the slightly freer exchange of information between the two countries, much remains to be seen about the future course of Dornalian-Realm relations, with one Representative--Prince Schultz--from the Dornalian Congress comparing the current excitement to "going on the first date with someone and then planning everything from the prenup to the mortgage. Things need to be taken one step at a time, especially with the Realm being a riddle inside of an enigma inside of a Rubik's Cube. And we'd do well to remember that this date is heavily armed and doesn't like being touched." Indeed, scraps of information have come to light indicating that the situation could have very easily collapsed into a shooting war between the two nations.

Still, with the prospects looking generally good, Secretary of State Simons has made it clear that the Republic and the Realm are "in a good position, to do great things."

Requests for comment from the Macisikani Vice-Ministry for External Affairs went unanswered, and requests for press visas to enter the Realm were denied.

Potential Greater Impact(s):The Realm of Macisikan is not yet fully opened to outsiders--indeed, it is doubtful that there will be any change to its current isolationist stance in the near future, and there remain extremely stringent entry conditions, with under a thousand visas released every sixty days. Nevertheless, the opening of the Realm by the Colonial Republic signals a new era in diplomacy for both the Realm and the Republic.

For the Realm, it means some engagement in international affairs, albeit hand-in-hand with the Colonial Republic--and certainly, a keener desire to figure out what and who else is out there as others have noted. The Realm is likely to send out covert scouts and agents, to ascertain who's a threat and who's not.

For the Republic, it's another diplomatic slam-dunk. Domestically, the achievement of opening relations with the Realm raises Norton Simons's profile despite his numerous protestations to the contrary, to the point where some are naming him as a potential successor to President Haggar should the President not seek reelection. Foreign-wise, the opening of the Realm is basically both product of and evidence of a continued assertiveness by the Dornalian Republic in foreign affairs, particularly those of the Beta Quadrant.
"New Dornalia, a living example of anomalous civilizations."-- Phoenix Conclave
"Your nation has always been ridiculous. But it's endearing."--Skaugra
"It's a magical place where chinese cowboys ply the star lanes to extract vast wealth from trade, where NORINCO isn't just an arms company, but an evil bond villain type conglomerate that hides in other nations. Where the apocalypse happened, and everyone went "huh, that's neat" and then got back to having catgirls and starships."-- Olimpiada
"...why am I space China, and I don't have actual magic animals, and you're space USA, and you do? This seems like a mistake." --Roania, during a discussion on wildlife.

Submitting Party: Varagoth
Nation Name of Submitting Party: Confederal Principate of Varagoth

Affected Quadrant(s):Gamma.
Precise Locations (If Applicable): The Norma Spiral Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy, localized in the Padus System, Confederal Principate Realm.
Nation(s) Involved: Confederal Principate of Varagoth

Description: In order to establish a permanent sphere of influence beyond the CPR(Confederal Principate Realm) and to increase it's commercial sector and power for the prosperity of it's own people. The Princep had convened with the Princes Tribune and had put it forward to allow several free trade policies that would bring a good sum of wealth to the area. Several enterprises had already begun opening it's doors to foreign businesses and even other neighboring star-states.
Potential Greater Impact(s): Another point of trade in the Gamma quadrant has now opened up and it would soon enough see merchant traffic flowing through it.

Tension Report Application

Submitting Party: Valinon
Nation Name of Submitting Party: United Star Empire of Valinon

Affected Quadrant(s): Alpha, Beta, Gamma, & Delta
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Eucer Corridor (Beta), Lanthe Route (Gamma), & Talosian Expanse
Nation(s) Involved: United Star Empire of Valinon

Description:
Valinor and international news sources are confirming the return of the battle squadron (BATRON) from a special tour through the outer Gamma and Delta quadrants. The BATRON, under the command of Vizeadmiral Michael Flynn, was detached from the Extra-Raumreich Operational Area (EXROA-COM) to sustain an almost two-year long operation supported by a mandate from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA). It entered the Delos system after navigating the Talosian Expanse.

Vizeadmiral Flynn’s mandate was broad but focused on three primary activities: revising astrographic navigation and survey information, escorting a diplomatic mission to the Huerdaen Star Empire, and promoting commerce protection and anti-slavery operations throughout local volumes. The BATRON included additional warships from Valinor allied states in the Raumreich and the Verge. The tour was originally projected to last eight standard months, but the mission was extended three times by military and Government officials. Additional MFA personnel also joined the mission after it completed its escorting duties into Huerdaen space.

Official reports remain terse, but Valinor authorities did release some details from the extensive operational history, including:

  • Four-month long campaign in the Sagittarius Arm terminus spatial volumes to curtail Gata’jan raiders;
  • Survey of the Eridani Nebula & established contact with the reclusive Eridani Imperium;
  • Strategic study of the Shepherd’s Spur local communities;
  • Contact established with Tí̱msátthan Wanderers;
  • Three-month long commerce protection campaign along the Talosian Expanse.

The lack of details have not dissuade commentary and debate from both domestic and international authorities. While some stressed the importance of continued galactic integration, the Valinor activity drew criticism from many. Ki-Jhado, host ofGalacticnet’s Jhado Hour, is one of the most vocal critics. He repeatedly stated the Valinor disregard for cultural diplomatic norms and interventionism as retrogressive.

‘The Valinor continue to foster their own aggressive integration agenda while supposedly claiming to respect national sovereignty and determination. The guise of integration is little more than their intention to suborn other states to their own economic imperialism.’

Jhado’s commentary is supported by responses from the Eridani Imperium, which took a dim view of the limited survey operations near its territory and issued various communiques against ‘foreign interlopers’ in the the outer galactic volumes.

However, the reappearance of the squadron played well in the Solarian Reaches. Speaking to reporters briefly outside the Evening of the Crimson Petals, Archduke von Metternicht praised the achievement.

‘The return of the squadron, without the loss of a single vessel, is a testimony to the empire’s status as an interstellar power. The government looks forward to welcoming Vizeadmiral Flynn and his crews back. Their efforts bring some measure of future integration to some of the isolated volumes opposite the galactic centre. In cooperation with our allies, the empire will continue to sponsor integration and international community independent of antiquated concepts of quadrants and supranational federal structures.’

A joint statement from the offices of the Reichsprotektor and the Admiralty hailed the return and the counter-piracy efforts. The latter announcement also included a message from EXROA-COM head Großadmiral Sir Geoffrey Tolwyn thanking the men and women of the squadron and an invitation from Empress Friedelinde for it to participate in Empire Day celebrations in Alpha Centauri in the coming months. Flynn’s command will be the latest addition in the imperial naval pageantry already focusing on the EXROA-COM activities since its formation.

The Public Affairs Office of the Imperial Armed Forces published a more detailed programme of the squadron’s return to Alpha Centauri. After a temporary delay in Delos including a social invitation to the ranking officers in the system, Vizeadmiral Flynn will lead a formal visit to the Imperial and Federal Union throne world of Gerstintor including an offer to receive members of the imperial house above the flagship HMS Purson before returning to the Eucer Corridor. A planned resupply operation will take place before it visits the League of Alphane to recognise the service of its warships and confer several foreign service awards on its naval personnel. The squadron will then return to Alpha Centauri for refit and leave before returning to active duty with EXROA-COM’s Lanthine operations.

Potential Greater Impact(s): The completion of the squadron’s tour represents an on-going reemergence of both the Valinor and Raumreich militaries in galactic affairs. However, its activities are much larger in scale than the Imperial Verniian Navy’s exercises along the Lanthe and expansion of League-sponsored anti-piracy patrols. Valinor military officials extensively downplayed the circumnavigation of the galaxy, but it represents a considerable demonstration of the Kriegsmarine to sustain logistic operations for both its units and those of allied navies.

The tour prompted controversy in international circles. While the HSE allowed the diplomatic mission to take residence, its presence has yielded few results. There was also some outcry when footage of a KM warship intercepting a suspected slaver then executing much of its crew. Vizeadmiral Flynn appeared by ansible connection to a special session of the Defence Select Committee explaining the raid was in accordance with imperial law. The MFA rebuffed several diplomatic protests stemming from the event, noting pirates, raiders, and slavers are branded as ‘enemies of sentients and sophonts’ under both imperial and League international law, enjoying no protections.

A more positive outcome came in the contact with the Tí̱msátthan and the states along the Shepherd’s Spur. This was seen as part of the reason the squadron’s activities were extended for almost another year. More skeptical analysts note this also coincided with a shift in the squadron’s organization. Participating warships from Verger nations were released during a resupply operation near the Eucer Corridor terminus. Only the Valinor and Berchester warships continued into the Talosian Expanse and were joined by a Vaku carrier group notably absent when the squadron arrived in Delos. Rumours of weapons tests and other research persisted with Ki-Jhado specifically accusing Valinon of exploring operations to test its military elsewhere as anti-piracy efforts in Beta and Gamma grow more successful.

While the squadron did not lose any vessels, several were damaged and there were casualties with the extended operation. The squadron’s screening elements were reduced before deploying into the Talosian Expanse, and the programme for the ship’s return states more will proceed directly to Alpha Centauri ahead of the capital ships.

Domestically, Flynn’s actions are building support for the expansion of EXROA-COM. The newest command in the Kriegsmarine will take on the largest allotment of new funding and material in the proposed naval budget, coming second only to the fleets responsible for the defence of Alpha Centauri, Yalta, and Archangel. While his squadron is slated for refit and metropolitan deployment, Flynn will return to the Lanthe and become Chief Officer for Combined and International Operations for EXROA-COM. He will also lead two new squadrons of superdreadnoughts to start service with the Lanthine operational division of the command.

Tension Report Application

Submitting Party:Faelanic Quietude
Nation Name of Submitting Party:The Celestial Empire of the Faelanic Quietude

Affected Quadrant(s):Gamma
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Pale Stars Trade Corridor, Pale Reaches, Faelanic Quietude
Nation(s) Involved: FSR, Usidia, SCU, Other minor FTL capable states.

Description:Clan Haine, with the agreement of the Celestial Empress Xhandrastaei Morrigaine, has for the first time sanctioned the settlement of non-Faelanii civilians upon the planetary system of The Brass Republic of Morah. The old restriction which forbade xenos habitation on the planets surface has been lifted in these past six months, allowing access to the world beyond visitation and orbital residence. This has resulted in a flurry of activity amongst many minor clans, who seek to profit from the construction rights now opened to them, in order to house the vast number of migrants which have - since the news broke - begun flooding into the system in order to seek their fortunes.

Since it’s inception, the Pale Stars Trade Corridor has excited the imagination of many downtrodden and troubled Rimward and Coreward civilisations with the immense amount of wealth flowing out from it’s ice clouded stars. A Faelanii and FSR media engine has furthermore begun offering tantalising opportunities for Reach exploitation and mining, drawing hopefuls from far and wide into the prospecting, exploratory and whaling organisations that function under the common title of “Reach Hunters”. Success, although variable has nonetheless resulted in many cases of wild success and immense riches gathered by ambitious and driven individuals, firing the imaginations of many citizens to seek out their future among the ghost stars.

Nevertheless, beneath the pageantry and wild excess Morah usually indulges in as a venerable pirate haven, there are more tragic stories to be told. Many of the Reach Hunters do not return from their expeditions out into the Midways in search of wealth and cargo, and many a ship has disappeared into the embankments never to return. Others suffer more mundane crises, falling into poverty, gambling, addiction and alcoholism as a result of the harsh, violent and passionate lives they live, or as a result of the predations of the Faelanii rulers. Cripples and the homeless have become more common in the streets, and many of the new cities - whilst still shining a little - are fast degrading beneath an avalanche of refuse, squalor and anarchy.

Unrest between the Faelanii and their foreign neighbours has also intensified, resulted in increasing gang violence in the streets between various crime syndicates and warbands as they battle for supremacy. Resentment festers on both sides as nativist reactionaries call for the expulsion of xenos from Morah, and foreign settlers protest the exploitation of many a Faelanii clans in the housing, narcotics, alcohol and cloned flesh markets - often seen as the only ones to benefit from the migrants misery. Whilst the Brass City itself has weathered the onslaught with ease, even it is now troubled by chaos and unrestricted violence on its periphery, only kept in check now by armies of Haine enforcers. Nevertheless, the influx has resulted in a massive upsurge profit and development in the Autonomous colony, allowing monumental economic growth to erupt in what had been a violent backwater. Morah may yet begin to begin creepingly challenge Prydannica’s status as the most influential non-core colony if the growth and power seen within the first year continues.

Potential Greater Impact(s):Increased traffic along The Pale Stars Trade Corridor as well as an uptick in profits as a result of migration. The PSTC continues to consolidate its position and status across the rim in order to continue to build itself as it’s financial hub. The opening of Morah expands the availability of Freeholds to the planets surface, possibly opening up a new type of settlement in the process. Traditionalist Faelanii clans have begun to propagate their anti-xenos views more vocally, possibly as a preclude to more violent action. The FSR has furthermore redirected many less “favourable” of it’s citizens towards the Pale Reaches to “unburden” themselves of them.

I would like to note that I was unaware of this line in Valinon's report. No such event occured.

Code: Select all
While the HSE allowed the diplomatic mission to take residence, its presence has yielded few results.

I don't always read the state of the galaxy, but I don't feel it is acceptable for anyone to speak for my nation without my consent. Just like before, when I operated in the same circles you did, I have no intention of allowing other nations to simply 'take up residence'. Every time this was brought up to me, many months ago, I refused to allow it to occur. The fact that you took these actions without my consent are appalling.

In the published update, this is not clarified, but does seem to imply success in some manner. I find this equally objectionable. Stop speaking for my nation. I should not be required to watch every thread to be sure that others are not trying to subvert my efforts for their own ends.
The Huerdaen Star Empire is an FT Nation.

Tension Report Application

Submitting Party: Lotrabme
Nation Name of Submitting Party: Mind Empire

Affected Quadrant(s): Beta, possibly Alpha
Precise Locations (If Applicable): 65 lightyears from Hame (Empire's center), the Velorum Annex
Nation(s) Involved: The Mind Empire

Description: Two recent events have become common points of discussion in Mind Empire political circles. The first and more subtle is the creation of two new Orders of the Armada. Up until now there have been 6 Orders, but the creation of the 7th and the 8th have apparently been in the works among the Admiralty Commission. This expansion is designed to lessen the burden on the 4th and 5th Orders in patrolling space lanes and protecting nomadic colonies and trading vessels. Together, the four orders have also been given a grant for greater ship capacity in their fleets.

The more pressing matter is the expansion of Imperial territory, and the unique turn it is taking. One of the Admirals of the 5th Order, Tevron Kranmar, has gathered a task force destined for the quadruple-star system 23 Velorum, and this month announced their intent to found a new colonial frontier. It is being called the Velorum Annex and Kranmar has been granted the status of Military Overlord of the Sector which only contains one system, for now.

Admiral Kranmar and his advisers have drafted a preliminary charter for the Annex, and it was met with surprise in the Ministry Council on Hame for being designed specifically to accept refugee populations. Kranmar has been reached for comment on this initiative and said that it was out of a humanitarian effort for the galaxies needy. Believing the Empire has so much to offer, he has decided that the colony will be designed as a safe haven for the galaxies displaced and unfortunate to rest and recoup, and if they wish to stay they will be granted a fast track to Mind Imperial citizenship.

Though some in the Ministry were suspicious both of the influx of foreigners and of the Admirals inner motives, the Ministry Council and the High Sages approved of the Admirals Charter for the Velorum Annex, and it shall go into effect next month. The colony ships which the Admiral took with him are currently constructing Oneal Cylinders around the capital world of the Annex known as Rico Mundi, and mining contracts from the Chamber of Commerce have been issued to IRDaC firm-holders to expand the economic output of the Annex and provide the projected influx of refugees with work.

Potential Greater Impact(s): Refugee populations from around Beta specifically and the galaxy at large will be offered sanctuary in this new province of the Mind Empire known as the Velorum Annex. Some nations may disapprove of the Empire's willingness to take refugees in, and some in the Empire might seek to exploit the displaced peoples. Time will tell if the Admirals intentions are pure.

The expansion of the Armada with 2 new Orders and an increase of fleet ship numbers might make some wary of the Mind Empire's general intentions.

Submitting Party: Lady Scylla
Nation Name of Submitting Party: Radiant Khaganate of Scythia

Thread Link(s): viewtopic.php?f=5&t=450262, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=451061, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=448078, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=449429
Affected Quadrant(s): Delta, Beta, Gamma
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Fenvaria Republic in Beta, Alexzonya (GRA) in Gamma
Nation(s) Involved: GRA, Fenvaria, Eridani Imperium, Radiant Khaganate, the Galactic Commerce Corridor (collectively), Dornie, Nyte, Thrashia, Huerdae, Vipra

Description: The Deltan War wages on, having started months ago, and engulfing much of the Delta Quadrant. Eridani and Scythian fleets engage openly across the quadrant over colonies, outposts, and mining stations as a coalition of states, mostly from the GCC, attempt to contain the conflict and avoid a wider galactic one. GCC gates have been secured by other GCC members in the vicinity of the two warring powers, and while many work to contain it, a number are profiting off of the fighting by selling, often, to both sides.

The conflict has hit its climax with the Scythian invasion of the Eridani homeworld, Kadria, which has seen the planet turned into a warzone. Half of the Eridani sectors have fallen either to Scythian forces, or the rebelling protectorates the Scythians are supporting.

On the backs of this is the start of the Nyteborne crusade into Gamma, which has led into conflict with the GRA. Taking advantage of this, Scythia and the Nyteborne have signed a lend-lease pact, and the Radiant has taken advantage of the conflict to launch its own invasion of the GRA's vassal states, the Arcadian League, sitting on the Gamma-Delta border. To the south, the Khaganate has also launched an invasion of the Fenvaria Republic in Beta, in the hopes of securing key systems that'd give them an anchor in the quadrant.

With the Deltan War in full swing, and the potential to spill over as the Scythians attempt to assert themselves in Delta, a familiar disease has begun to appear in the Eridani Imperium, known as the Red Death. While it's early to say exactly what this disease is, the Scythians were quick to glass the Eridani world of Eidolon during its infection.
Potential Greater Impact(s): Delta's economy may fluctuate as war affects a number of powers in the Quadrant, and outside of it, including a number of trade organisations. The glassing of Eidolon has caused many in afflicted areas of the Imperium with the Red Death to disperse. Refugees are especially likely, given the immense destruction in the conflict.

Tension Report Application

Submitting Party: resseb araihccuc llesur, interplanetary news network
Nation Name of Submitting Party: planet jini

Affected Quadrant(s): Alpha Quadrant
Precise Locations (If Applicable): Planet Earth
Nation(s) Involved: Primarily Tiskaya, Gloryi, Legomandashea, and other Warring factions of the Ridgefield Region

Description: Ridgefield Civil War leads to creation of supervirus: After a year long civil war between the earth nations of the former Ridgefield alliance, and the deaths of over 1 million earthers in the violence, new fears have arisen on planet earth and across the Alpha Quadrant as a new superplague threatens millions. Recent biological experimentation by a conflict involved country has resulted in a superbug which turns its victims into mutated and highly resilient drones, capable of pushing back armed forces in regions the disease spreads to. It is unknown yet as to which nation originally created the virus, and rumors continue to circulate, with some blaming the country of Di-rito, while others blame the Republic of Betmet. It is highly possible that neither country is responsible for this epidemic, but that another, unsuspected country may have created the disease.

Nations across Ridgefield are beginning to see signs of a spread of the epidemic, and the likelihood of its expansion out of Ridgefield is extremely high. Travel to planet earth is highly discouraged at this time, and is until further notice.
Potential Greater Impact(s): viral transmission to other parts of planet earth and to other planets within the Orion Quadrant

Thank you, Lady Scylla, your Activity Report has been slated for review for potential inclusion in the October 30th update. That said, inclusion of content related to the player "Huerdae" will not be included, as per a previous request, pending direct confirmation by the mentioned party.

Your Tension Report has been rejected, as it is incomplete and lacks your own ideas and extrapolation of "Potential Greater Impact(s)," constituting a failure to reach Submission Guidelines No. 4 and No. 5. If you wish to complete this section of the application and re-file, please feel free to do so.

Aumanii action in support of peace against the Empire of Nyte’s crusade forces: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=449405

Affected Quadrant(s):Alpha, Beta, Gamma Quadrants and Delta

Precise Locations (If Applicable):Oculus System. Sol System: Haumea and Earth. Free Republic of Borealis: Aurelia system. The Gamma-Delta Border: The planet of New Victoria.

Nation(s) Involved: Auman, The Peninsular, Tezekia, New Dornalia, Alexzonya, the Empire of Nyte. LOTUS member nations.

Description: Critical analysis of the activities of the Co-Prosperity Sphere of Auman from 3169AD to 3170AD.

The Stepford-Arnau Trade and Military Alliance began in secrecy early in the year 3169AD when Aumanii Diplomat, Chevy Stepford, met with Tezekian foreign service member Arnau to hammer out the details of a trade and security agreement between their nations. It steadily expanded over time to include the Galactic Republic of Alexzonya, the Phoenix Domain, New Dornalia and the Constitutional Federation of the Peninsular.

Notable short term achievements of SATMA have been the construction of gate based FTL routes devised around the concept of heavily secured hub stations and the regular, aggressive, use of patrols to destroy pirate forces in and around those regions of space. The ideological goal of the alliance is to create security and prosperity, not just within the narrow view of their own interest, but throughout the galaxy as a whole, by providing security to allow for the freedom of movement of all sentient beings, specifically in an effort to alleviate the difficulties of the Great Displacement. It may be obvious to some analysts with an eye towards history that the Co-Prosperity Sphere of Auman is moving very quickly towards Sol, peacefully annexing territories within the system, especially on Earth and the dwarf planet Haumea, that have large Aumanii ethnic majorities. The implication is that the Aumanii are moving to re-establish a presence in the system for their return to Mars.

Aumanii membership in the LOTUS alliance began earlier this year. Military forces have aided their allies in the Solar Cooperative Union, which saw Aumanii commitments in the Beta quadrant take prominence and actually increase, which is an interesting departure from their usual priorities, which had never placed any particular emphasis or showed any interest in the Beta quadrant.

Activity on GalNet and in Aumanii media suggest that Aumanii citizens are feeling bold and confident, citing the “Right of Martian Return” as inevitable, using slogans such as “God blesses the CPS of A” and citing local philosophical and political sources, often and with vigor, in regards the destiny of the Aumanii people to unify mankind.

While it may seem to some that the Aumanii are using various organization and the veneer of multilateralism in a transparent bid to further their own desire to return to the “Martian Holy Land”, there have been many instances in which the Aumanii worked with the Stepford-Arnau Trade and Military Alliance and LOTUS in apparent altruism towards achieving the stated objective of peace and prosperity through collective security.

To that end, there’s a considerable amount of evidence that Auman is committed to its international partners in achieving the objective… Multilateral military actions in support of peace have been undertaken with SATMA allies in the Gamma and Delta Quadrants, specifically in the Free Republic of Borealis… Initially to protect them from invasion by the Elysian Concordat, but later as peacekeepers within the Free Republic itself. Further, cooperation with LOTUS in Beta and beyond runs deep.

The Co-Prosperity Sphere of Auman is engaged in operations in all four quadrants of the galaxy, officially promoting the oft repeated missives about collective security being the key to galactic peace and prosperity. A more skeptical observer may also note that in the wake of every single one of these missions, a trail of Aumanii military bases and installations are left in their wake and that these regions are riddled with an unknowable number of military hyperspace gates.

Potential Greater Impact(s):The long and short of it is that the Aumanii have returned to the galactic scene and are aggressively pursuing an objective of military expansion on the galactic scale with what are overtly just intentions that may be construed as a bold powerplay towards reclaiming its position in the Sol system, with Mars as the crown jewel of a “New Aumanii Empire”. Regardless, for the time being, the Co-Prosperity Sphere has followed through on its promises to support a galactic order based on multilateral action, commerce and security.

Conflict is possible as established powers in these regions may be rankled by a disruption in the balance of power.

Jingoistic Aumanii citizens are pushing for greater involvement in the affairs of the galaxy at large and are growing impatient at the pace the government has set.

I added a considerable amount of built-in spin. Thank you for your consideration.

Tension Report Application

Submitting Party:The Peninsular
Nation Name of Submitting Party:The Peninsular

Affected Quadrant(s):Alpha/Beta
Precise Locations (If Applicable):Arret System and surrounding premises; vicinity of the Solarian Reaches; corewards Beta-Delta border.
Nation(s) Involved:Constitutional Federation of the Peninsular (CFP), Co-Prosperity Sphere of Auman, Khaganate of Scythia, Fenvaria Republic (FR)

Description:Very strong fleet growth of the CFP fleet and increased CFP patrols in both border-near Beta and Alpha quadrant regions, with some patrols and fleet elements coming close to the Solarian Reaches and the corewards Beta-Delta border.

These patrols also included aggressive operations against criminal groups in the aforementioned areas as well as several occasions of Peninsularian patrol groups shadowing Scythian fleet elements just from outside Scythian territory.

Meanwhile, the newly formed friendship treaty/alliance between the CFP and Fenvaria Republic has taken effect. Shortly after, an unspecified amount of FR and CFP military assets conducted several operations of unknown nature in a number of uninhabited FR systems, although there was no actual presence of hostile entities in said systems.

During several patrols near the Solarian Reaches, Peninsularian transports also handed over containers to Aumanii ships.
Potential Greater Impact(s):Increase of tensions at the Beta-Delta border and in the Solarian Reaches
10000 Islands

The Constitutional Federation of the Peninsular is an FT nation.
