Surprise! Lanosian economy dives into recession

Despite protection from the APMC-strengthened Lanosian petrochemical industry and other strongly performing areas, the Lanosian economy has been reported as going into a recession with a starting date of after the Demphorian economic crash. The blame, from multiple economic experts, falls upon the National Government for not taking further steps to protect the economy from the economic recession plaguing Pericles. The Fairfax Stock Market would dive 1,458.91 points upon rumors of the news yesterday after trading dozens of points ahead despite reported economic outliers. For multiple stocks and indexes, however, the death cross has been seen. With the certification that the economy is in recession, Monday will be a black day this year with soon-to-be releases of how companies will handle the recession, provided that these companies can remain solvent.

Terrorist attack in Keinsteinem
Separatist Native tribes suspected

A terrorist suicide bombing in Keinsteinem has reportedly left dozens dead and hundreds wounded. It occurred outside the city's Kastein Peace Stadium after a college football game as spectators were leaving. The National Police is investigating rumors that separatist Native tribes, renegade tribes that refuse to assimilate into the rest of Lanosian society, are responsible for the attacks. If confirmed, it would be the first attacks conducted since the end of the Separatist War in 1891. NBS will have more coverage of this attack as it comes.

Coup Attempt Rocks Nation

In the early hours of yesterday morning General Ljubo Mauzin led the majority of the Eesti Armed Forces in a coup against the government of President Hendrik Toomas. Toomas had survived an earlier coup attempt in the spring with the support of Mauzin, but it seems that the aspiring Caudillo has decided that his own time has come. In a statement announced over national radio he declared that democracy had failed and the time had come to assert Estoni's place as a strong and independent nation.

He declared that Duke Mikael Vasilyevich Gregorii of Slovdon was the rightful ruler of the Grand Duchy of Estoni and it was his duty to him, and his deceased father Vasily the Good, that led him to take action and called upon all loyal Srpskans, Majevicans and Kulgrindens to rally to his banner and eject the false and treacherous government which plagued the nation.

A national hero, revered by most on all sides of the ethnic and political spectrum, Mauzin recieved instant support of most units in the army and the air force, but the navy has remained undeclared. Even without naval support and the opposition of certain units of the army forces loyal to Mauzin and Mikael have swept across the nation from their bases in the west and quickly seized Podgorica, Bijeljina and are on the outskirts of the capital Majevica and making rapid progress into the eastern province of Kulgrindr.

The terrorist organisation the Kulgrinden Freedom Army has declared a truce and declined to oppose the forces loyal to the Duke while continuing to engage those which have sworn loyalty to the President. Such an act is surely evidence that Mauzin is a traitor to Estoni and that the people must oppose his coup. Duke Mikael is a mere pawn in this game and it is believed he is still partying away in Lyncanestria instead of leading his 'loyal subjects' as Mauzin has claimed.

Loyal Naval Forces Strike Back

Naval forces of the People's Republic of Estoni have proved their undying loyalty to the rule of law, democracy and the Eesti people by striking back against the accursed imperialist oppressors in the Republic of Lanos. Government intelligence agents discovered that Mauzin was in the pay of these imperialist scum and was secretly a treacherous catholic dog, they used his false faith and corruption to turn a once loyal subject against his homeland and into a murderous dog.

However national hero and surely now future President, Admiral Vasily Ramius in command of the submarine Blyat Cyka used his battery of nuclear warhead equipped missiles to rain a righteous holocaust upon those false god worshiping slabs of offal and excrement. Conservative estimates point to at least 20 million dead, but some claim the total may reach 30 or 40 million with complete annihilation likely once fallout and the inevitable collapse of society in the imperialist heartland.

Ramius and his boat returned to the port of Sprotz to the rapturous cheers of the amassed crowd and the warm embrace of our President, Hendrik Toomas. With the traitors armies stalled at the gates of Majevica and with rebellion in the territory they are trying to oppress one expects a return to normality soon and the sight of the bodies of the homosexuals Duke Mikael and his catholic abuser Ljubo Mauzin dangling from piano wire outside the Presidential Palace.

The Bylat Cyka has returned to sea with a new complement of missiles and it has been made apparent to the traitors if they do not surrender their depraved leaders to justice then they to will be faced with the wrath of the people.

Revolutionary Forces Seize Capital

Majevica has fallen and the people are in the streets celebrating. Duke Mikael and General Ljubo Mauzin were carried through the streets on the shoulders of first their comrades and then by their people until they were within the Presidential Palace from where they addressed the assembled masses.

Duke Mikael thanked his people for their victory and promised a brighter future where all the children of Estoni would work for the greater good and for the betterment of all. He also spoke of his sadness for those who lost their lives in this avoidable war, for which he placed the blame squarely, and rightly, upon the shoulders of ousted President Toomas. He expressed remorse for the actions of renegade Admiral Ramius, but declined to censure him greatly as he was acting under legitimate orders.

The General announced that there would be no elections for it was his young companions right to lead and that democracy had failed. He pointed to collapses in countries like Demphor and the strength of our neighbours in Defese. He also announced that the military campaign and thus martial law would continue until all signs of resistance were eliminated then a plebiscite would be held on the future of the nation.

President Toomas had threatened dire consequences and made false accusations of catholicism and homosexuality against both Mikael and Mauzin, but is now hold up in the last stronghold of these so called 'loyalists' the port of Sprotz. The forces of the Duke are rapidly engaging these traitors and it is expected that a return to normality will be possible within a month.
