[Delvosity]

From the ashes of the Great Patriotic War, the Empire of Delvosity has risen to the world stage once more. Although Delvosity itself is considered a Kingdom, it has united many former-Kingdom states within its territory, earning the name of Empire. The world thought that the Delvossian people were weakened by a war defeated, but they were anything but weakened. Former owners of the territory to the South West and South East, the Delvossian people are nostalgic for their former glory and pledge that they will gain it through whatever means possible. A strong national economy helps boost the efficiency of the Armed Forces, which is looked upon as the pride of Delvosity, the beating heart which keeps the nation moving along through every-day life.

In the late 1880's/1890's the Government of Delvosity launched the mass-breeding initiative known as 'Babies for War' which made it mandatory for families to have a minimum of 5 children. With the economic strenght of Delvosity to always create new buildings and facilities for the ever-growing population, Delvosity has a population of 710 million. It is believed that in the nation South West to Delvosity, 10 million Delvossians are living in poverty due to miss-placement from the Great Patriotic War, and 17 million in the South East.

Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon rules over the Empire of Delvosity. Proven time and time again through times of war, the populace of Delvosity look up to Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon as a beacon of hope, to restore the glory of the old days of Delvosity. To re-build the Empire and to purge all heretics that once stood in its way, and that stand in its way. Delvosity was rising.

But the first thing a nation must achieve before going to war is a strong, economic, trade and military alliance with nearby or powerful nations to ensure its survival. Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon reviewed the report on the nation to the near-east of Lexonia, Nuverikstan. Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon feared that Nuverikstan would limit the empires expansion into the west and it would ultimately result in war. He decided to keep a close eye on Nuverikstan and note if they are friendly or hostile.

[Yugoslavia II]

The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was formed after the collapse of the original Republic of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavians, or simply 'Slavs' make up the majority of the population. Slavs have a Eastern European/Russian accent and are the back bone of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia has always wanted to expand beyond its own borders and unite the Slavic people, but anytime it does so, it backfires and Yugoslavia ends up being invaded. However, this would happen no more. With a population of around 230 million, Yugoslavia has high rates of nationalism and patriotism. Almost all places in Yugoslavia are habitable, henceforth the ever-expanding population. Since 1901, the Armed Forces of Yugoslavia has been vastly expanding beyond its previous capabilities making it a reasonable fighting force to contend with. Yugoslavia did not share a border with any *non-NPC* nations but was close to some: Nuverikstan to the south and Delvosity to the east. Yugoslavia did not know much about its southern comrade, Nuverikstan, but knew much of the fierceness and the imperialism of the Empire of Delvosity. It would be good to get an alliance with Delvosity first, and not to annoy them.

I am writing to you today to inform you that we, the people and government of Yugoslavia are interested in starting an alliance with the Empire of Delvosity. We admire your regional power and do not wish to challenge it, but Yugoslavia is rising once more and I personally belive that we can be key allies to each other. An alliance with Yugoslavia would mean you could station naval forces and infantry troops on the Slav-held island to the east of my nation. As a vice versa, we would also like to station naval forces and infantry troops on that little island to the north west of your nation. Both of our economies are strong and should one ever fail we can always support each other. Since we both have a coastline trading will not be a problem!

[The United Star Union]

The United Star Union was always considered an isolated nation, far away from regional trade and conflicts the Union remained separate from the rest of the world. While most nations would be crippled by this action, the Union prospered. Mighty skyscrapers dotted her cities, automobiles filled the streets, food overflowed from stores, and oil and mining were at the highest production the Union had ever seen. In his officer in the capitol building, John Alder looked out at the bustling activity. He had made all of this possible in the last eight years he had held the Councilmen position and he planned to continue to do so until the next election in four years. He laid back in his chair and sighed, he knew the Union would be more then capable of taking on the world in economic and production terms, however the military was a different matter. After the Union was united over 100 years ago there had not been much need for a military, so the budget was cut from 27% to a mere 5% putting the military into a poor state. Alder had recently passed a bill that brought the budget up to 25%, but if it was enough or not he was not sure. With its shipbuilding industry and factories the Union could most likely meet the material demand, but for manpower the normal citizens would probably ignore the call to war. The Union needed something that was extremely powerful, yet did not require a large amount of personal to operate in order to stand toe to toe on the field of battle with the rest of the world. He walks out of his office and to the front door where he is greeted by a car. He looks at the driver, "Take me to the Academy of Innovation."

[Of Athens]

In the start of recorded human history, Athens was the beacon of human civilization. But years of war with neighboring states has destroyed this once great nation. Its lowest point was reached in the early 15th century were it was occupied by the now destroyed nation of Troyan. A succesfull revolt in 1800 and the complete destruction and occupation of their former enemies formed the nation you see today.

After 100 years of rebuilding and creating national unity and pride, their new leader Alexander of average height, promised to reclaim Athens rightful place in history. To ensure a powerful army a mandatory military service is in place for all its 180.000.000 citizens between from 18 years until 35. Knowing that Athens can't stand by itself at the moment, they are looking for trustworthy allies. For now the goal of Athens is to secure their own borders and keep their own region at peace, but when called upon by their allies they will sail across the globe to aid who ever is in need.

After reading your letter, I have realised that the Slavic and Delvossian people might speak different accents and look different, but we have a lot which we share, fighting through great war and strife to ensure the survival of our people and our nation. Through these common differences we unite to ensure that we do not go quietly into the night and that the independence and the territorial sovereignty of our nation will last forever more. We have noted that Yugoslavia has a more than capable force and that an alliance with you will boost our nation greatly! This is why we accept an economic, trade and military alliance with you.

REZEN, USU - ACADEMY OF INNOVATION
On the Shoreline of Rezen stands Castle Icon, once the stronghold of the Rezen nation. The medieval fort now stands as a testament to those past times and the hardships the Union once faced, however today it has went from a place of war to a place of ingenuity and creation. The fifteen facilities housed on the location next to the former stronghold are a part of the Union Academy of Innovation, the USU's top R&D facility. Over the last 100 years the facility has functioned since the start of the Union and has created the first steam and combustion engines. Due to the isolation of the Union, all designs have come from this facility making any devices in the Union both deigned and built by the Academy. With the new military budget and rising global market, Councilmen Alder had three new buildings commissioned on the property and gave the Academy nearly 5% of the budget, the first time any government money was sent to the facility. Now the great minds that created the worlds first steel ship, automobile, and radio before anyone else are now creating weapons that will be the sword and shield of the Union. As Councilmen Alder's car comes over the hill and see the facility he looks at it in awe. He knows this place is reason for why the Union is advanced as it is and how it was able to survive the last 100 years. Now he could only pray that it could create something that could protect it for the next 100 years as well. The car comes onto the property and drives into a gated area with a sigh in front of it labeled Advanced Testing.

DELVOSSIAN BORDER

Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon has ordered the re-construction of the Delvossian border defences. The old defences will be upgraded or replaced. New trenches are being dug with advancements to help protect the trench from bad weather such as rain or snow. Trenches have been re-enforced with metal and more to help keep the trench in-tact from enemy mortar or artillery fire. New trench lines behind the lines in which machine-guns and riflemen fight have been made to store artillery guns, the guns would fire out of a hole at the top of the room, whlist the rest of the room is convered in mud and heavily re-enforced in metal and sandbags, this would help it blend right in with the main trenches at the front and men would also hide in the rooms in the event of the main trench being over-run. Rooms like this have also been built in frontline trenches for use of machine-gunners and riflemen so they can fire more accurately with more protection, which can provide relief in the time of battle.

We are willing to help 'reclaim Athens rightful place in history' through means of active trading. Since you do not have any solid allies in the region, our trade relationship could soon turn into a military relationship too should I see fit for it to do so. I hope you consider ths proposition and you write back to me with an answer soon.

ACADEMY OF INNOVATION
Alder walks into a massive structure that has a ceiling nearly 12 stories high. As he walks in he sees several projects under construction or in development but nothing that can be defined as one thing or another. he opens a door t a nearby room and walks in. inside the room is sketches and blueprints of various machines and deceives, in the center of the room is a table with several chairs around it. Already sitting in the chairs are Dr. Voss, Dr. Clip, Mr. Keplar, and Admirals White and Gertra. Voss and Clip lead the Academy and have themselves been responsible for several innovations such as radio and 4 cylinder engines. Keplar is in charge of Rezen Heavy Industries, one of the largest companies in the USU and the largest producer of products of large nature such as ships. Gerta and White are the two most experienced brass in the military with both of them from esteemed military families and a good knowledge of every kind of warfare. As Alder walks in they stand up and greet him. Then they all sit down once again.
Alder looks up, "I apologize for being late, but the capitol was packed with autos today."
Gertra shakes his head, "Don't worry sir, we finished the discussion of what we need from the Academy and how we are going to make it."
Alder raises an eyebrow, "So quickly?"
Keplar looks at Alder, "My company is willing to supply any materials needed and will construct anything you need. It may not be in my best economic interest to do so but unless I have a nation to operate in I will not have an economy to have interests in."
Voss took over next, "With Keplar's and RHI's support we are able to build much quicker without material limitations. Prototypes that took years now may be only a few months and with the RHI production lines the machines will be able to be mass produced very quickly."
Alder smiled, "Well it seems I may have made this trip for nothing, however I would like to know what the Academy is currently designing and building as per what our Admirals here have asked for."
Clip and Voss Smile and stand up motioning for the others to follow outside the room. They walk to a door labeled Authorized Personnel Only and walk through. The military men, the CEO of RHI, and the Leader of the USU are all in awe of what they see.

[Yugoslavia II]

EASTERN COAST - YUGOSLAVIA

The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was interested in conquering the small island to the South East, off Yugoslavia's Eastern Coast. This tiny nation lied within the internationally recognized territorial waters of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and it was time to remove this small problem from Yugoslavia. King Alexandar Vladimir ordered for a force of 1000 of his best soldiers from the Yugoslavian Naval Infantry to rally at a port in South East Yugoslavia. A small force of Yugoslavian transport boats would transport them over the island. King Alexandar Vladimir did not expect fierce resistance from the small ethnic minority (tribal people) that inhabited the island, nor did King Alexandar Vladimir expect for any nation to get involved in the small matter of the conquest of this clearly inferior island.

King Alexandar Vladimir read the response from Delvosity, and a wide smile crossed his face when the alliance had been confirmed.

[Nivok Baves]

Nivok Baves, like the USU, had stayed out of the War seeing it as an Eastern conflict and that their involvement would only spell downfall for the nation. Instead they watched the war closely and took from each technological advance then modified it, their most hair-brained scheme was creating some sort of mobile offensive vehicle that was capable of crossing trenches with taking heavy casualties, of course this was kept in the quiet and secretive hands of The Military Technology Advancement College in the heart of Calegal. Nivok Baves had always concentrated more in its Navy than army, being the nation responsible for the iron warship and it held the world's largest navy which spawned a large amount of national pride throughout the nation. Territorial aims had never been high on the list of Nivok Baves, mainly because they were content with their large piece of land but they never ruled out the possibility of expansion.

Nicholas stood, watching the bi-annual Fleet Review which was almost a national spectator sport with seeing which crew kept their uniform cleanest or who could stand the proudest. Sighing, he had always wished that others apart from Nivok Baves would take part and that yearning had led him into thinking about the USU and how they could benefit from an alliance of sorts. Looking side to side, he pulled out some pen and paper and began writing:

I am King Nicholas II of Nivok Baves, and your nation has always been of interest to me and not in an empirical sense but in the thought of an alliance. I see this time as the moment almost crucial for an alliance, with rising tensions in the East and I do not think that the West can escape this war, so I do hope you indulge yourself into my proposition and reply.

EASTERN COAST - YUGOSLAVIA

King Alexandar Vladimir gave the go-ahead order and the 1000 Yugoslavian Naval Infantry soldiers quickly loaded into the small force of transport ships that been sent for them. Smiles crossed their faces as this was the first Yugoslavian deployment in a long time. King Alexandar Vladimir knew that this was their chance to impress Delvosity and show them what Yugoslavia was capable of. The Tribe that inherited the islands seem to have a small crossbred heritage from the USU and Nivok but King Alexandar Vladimir did not let this bother him. Commanders told their soldiers "Failure is NOT an option!", and the soldiers cheered before holding their rifles and pushing it into the air with a loud "Hurrah!". Many Yugoslavian citizens were at the port in-which these men were being sent from and were cheering along too. The trip to the island would only an hour, two at maximum.

ACADEMY OF INNOVATION
Alder and the others stood stunned to what they saw outside the massive structure. Machines of every type were rolling about from trucks with caterpillar tracks to single engine biplanes. All of them looked as if they had many major modifications. Voss and Clip smiled watching the elite of the Union looking at their machines with their jaws touching the floor.
Voss laughed, "Close your mouths were are not even at the big stuff yet!" he says walking toward the rear of the hangar that juts out to the sea.
Alder and the others follow and they enter the back of the hanger. When they get inside they see several strange devices and four machines. Voss walks over to the devices first and begins to explain each of them.
"This is what we like to call a fully automatic rifle, it breaks easily and can only hold ten rounds at the moment but it can fire them all in less then fie seconds. Here is a new type of helmet, it has thin layered metal inside making it tougher while still lightweight. Lastly, this is what we are calling boy armor, early tests show it withstanding very small caliber bullets but for right now its pretty unreliable."
White snorts, "You mind telling me what does work? Unlike you egg heads our lives depend on this gear!"
Clip smiles and turns around, "She works fine last I checked."
As the men turn around they are shocked to see an airship in front of them of the likes that none had ever seen before.
Voss walks over to it, "This is the Icon. After the great war we realized that airships as they are now are extremely vulnerable to enemy air attacks and small arms, so we redesigned the thing from the ground up basing it on a warship. We gave it decks and placed the air punches in the center and made them much larger. The Outside also has air punches, but they are only on the dorsal and ventral parts of the ship. The extra pouches are needed because the whole thing is covered in quarter inch steel."
Gertra walks up slowly, 'What you are telling me is that you built a bulletproof airship!"
Clip walks over to Voss in front of the airship and smiles, "Its a bit more then that, this is the prototype so everything isn't completed yet but she has a few other surprises."
One of Alders aids rushes up to him, "Sir message for you."
Alder takes the folded paper and opens it, "Hmmmm..... Excuse me for a moment I need to take care of something."

King Nicholas II,

The USU would be interested in an alliance with your nation, we would also like to conduct trade if that would be acceptable. I would like to discuss this matter with you personally if you are able to. I am currently at the Academy of Innovation, if you could meet me here I would be delighted, if not we shall conduct talks once I return to Union City. Thank You.

Nicholas had retired to his chambers, a spacious room with a large window overelooking the city. A knock at the door beckoned his attention "Enter" he commanded a small man walked in with his head bowed and offered him a letter. Taking it he read it, a smile slowly emerging on his lips, before sitting down and writing:

I would be more than happy to visit you in Union City while a tour of the famed Institute would certainly be an eye opener. I intend to leave within the week and should arrive in two.

The Empire of Delvosity began to test automatic rifles and multi-barell machine guns. An advantage of an automatic rifle would be that it is easier to fire more often upon the enemy, but a down side would be the increased rate of recoil once the shots have been fired. The best researchers and scientists in the Empire of Delvosity are working on a way to have an rifle fire automatically without having a insanely high rate of recoil. As well as this, multi-barell machine guns are a more promising prospect of weaponry. Being able to fire from a minimum of 4 barrels instead of 1 with no extra recoil and no decrease in speed, mutli-barell machine guns could be a game changer for the Empire of Delvosity. A few automatic rifles and multi-barell machine guns are in service for the Empire of Delvosity and more are in testing in secret locations on the mainland.

After receiving a offer to trade with the Empire of Delvosity, Alexander orders his naval commander Piet Heyn to start expanding the fleet to protect the commercial fleet. A order to build 40 light cruisers is made and production starts at once.
Being content with the expanding of his navy for now, Alexander goes to the tank factory to check on the construction of its new main battle tank, it should be the center during the victory parade in the capital of its former enemy next week.
For now everything is calm, so preparations for independence day are priority number one.

Alder smiles as he send the message and returns to the Airship. As they walk around he notices some odd bulges in the craft, "Um Voss and Clip, what are these strange bulges?"
Voss turns around "Oh those are for the Gatling guns."
The military men stop and turn around looking as if they just won the lottery, "Gatlings too! This ship is incredible!" Gertra says excitedly, wanting to fly the ship out of its hanger right now.
Clip laughs, "Well the you'll like these better" he says pointing up.
On the sides of the airship are two turrets, each with dual five inch guns. The men stare in awe of the firepower.
Voss looks at them , "Don't get too excited, we haven't found a way to fire the things without ripping them off their mounts yet, so these are just for show."
White shakes his head, "Working or not seeing five inchers on an Airship! I never thought I would see anything like this."
Clip smiles, "They you will love what comes next, follow me."
They begin to walk into the next room labeled SUB BAY.

UNKNOWN ISLAND - OFF THE EASTERN COAST OF YUGOSLAVIA

The transport ships carring 1000 soldiers of the Yugoslavian Naval Infantry have finally reached their target. The small island was midly defended by the inhabitants who are believed to be some sort of minority USU-Nivok crossbreed. Artillery open up against small villages and towns as the natives run for their lives. Due to almost every building being made out of wood, the structures in which these native people took pride in are easily burnt to a stake by the incoming artillery. The men swarm ashore on the Northern Coastline of the uknown island. Most of the native's hide in bushes along the end of the beach, guarding the town and open fire with muskets. Within 5 minute, 120 men are dead. But artillery soon sort the defences out and the Yugoslavian advance picks up pace and drives inland.

The Empire of Delvosity has began production of U-Boats for active service. U-Boats can be put in offensive and defensive operations for the Empire of Delvosity, and will be the pride of the Delvossian Navy. U-Boats are submarines armed with torpedo's and a cannon which is capable of firing when surfaced. U-Boats are already being placed in active service and hopefully with revolutionize Naval Warfare. The Empire of Delvosity is also increasing its naval fleets capability with new ships being built everyday, as well as new Air Force aircraft being built for the protection of our Empire. New Airfields and Ports are being opened so that our nation can cope with the expansion.

ACADEMY OF INNOVATION
As the men walk out the the sub bay, the see a massive submarine, larger then any other currently built. Beside it are several other subs as well, all look modified just like the airship. The subs have what appear to be some sort of turrets on their sides, but the cannons have been replaced with torpedo tubes, allowing the subs to fire from multiple angles not just the bow and stern.
Voss looks at the smaller subs, "These are much larger then the Great war Variants and have five decks, the have two dual side mounted torpedo turrets and twelve total tubes fore and aft. Their large size allows them to hold more torpedoes and stay down longer, but they sacrifice speed for it."
White looks at the strange looking sub and notices something, "Whats the big latch over there for on the subs deck?"
Clip walks over, "This is the mount for the swordfish."
On cue a crane begins to lower an odd shaped craft into the mount. It has a rudder and two wings and on the top of it is a large air tank and what appears to be a machine gun of some sort. Under its wings two torpedoes sit and at the bow of the device a thick sphere of glass dominates the craft, giving it a bubble look.
Clip looks at White, "This is the Swordfish, its meant to be a fast strike submersible deployed from a larger sub. The machine can only dive up to 120 feet and can only operate for 10 minutes with its air and fuel reserves, but it is rather quick for a submarine." He looks over at the huge sub, "Each of the smaller U-2 classes can hold only one while the larges U-3 can hold five in its interior bay. The U-3 Has 4 of the rotational cannons, but they are mostly defensive. This vessel is purely for the utilization of the Swordfish, it gets in and out nothing more."
Gertra chuckles, "While this is impressive and all I am guessing you still have quite a few problems with these?"
Voss looks uncomfortable confirming Gertra's theory. The old Admiral begins to laugh, "Well I am sure they will be 'adequate' once they are deployed, but for now I'll stick to the guns of my battleships and that Airship."
As the men leave the facility they each say their goodbyes and enter their cars. Alder drives through the gate and looks out the window, silently praying that those machines will never enter the fields of war.

UNKNOWN ISLAND - OFF THE EAST COAST OF YUGOSLAVIA

The Unknown island is almost under full Yugoslavian control. Yugoslavian Naval Infantry have so far had 135 men killed and 68 wounded, but reports are coming in that over 400 native defenders on the island have been killed, 200+ captured and roughly 70 injured. The advance continues under the protection of Yugoslavian artillery fire as Yugoslavian Naval Infantry troops continue to pillage and burn down native villages and towns. Small schools are the only schools that exist on the island and almost all of them have been bombed out. Native defences have been nearly completely over-run and Yugoslavian High Command is expecting total destruction or surrender of the natives soon.

DECLARATION OF WAR

Emperor Wolfenstein von Lexon has declared war on the two bordering nations to the west of the Empire of Delvosity. This is because they are of value to Delvosity and they have a large Delvossian populace which have been miss-placed due to the Great Patriotic War. The Lexonian 1st, 2nd and 3rd Army have been mobilized and began the march towards these territories. Artillery guns already placed on the border with these nations have opened fire on towns, villages and garrisons within range and aircraft are conducting their first bombing raids. The successfull invasion of these nations will allow Delvosity to expand its navy to create a Western Frontier, instead of being so dependent on its navies in the North and East.

UNKNOWN ISLAND - OFF THE EASTERN COAST OF YUGOSLAVIA

Yugoslavian High Command has reported a total victory on the unknown island off our Eastern Coast. Of the 1000 men that landed, 152 were killed and 82 were wounded.
