The way I see it, is that you should treat it like a new administration taking over for a previous one. Even though your nation may be weak, you should be able to make reforms, build alliances, and construct your nation to be a regional or even world power. It would have to take time and must be plausible, otherwise, it's godmoding. But with the right decisions and time, like I said, your nation should get better.

that could be an option, but I like RPing as my nation as I picture it, but the down side to my nation is it would change leaders more then any other nation.

If I keep the countries I have control of now remain at peace for as long as possible with everyone or if people don't mind me have Cabo Verde and all of West Africa the same thing
