Senate Hall, Calingus, Lovarii Dominion, Sempit.
2/1/2015.
Presidente Zaeed Abbas.

I was glancing at what political officials had arrived in the hall. I could notice the countless officials I had never met. I sat down in an empty spot, making sure none of the Atlas leaders notice me. Silently, I awaited my time to speak. It took some time; however the remaining two High Lords had come. Soon after, a lecture on peace. The war in Curente was of no Hudian concern, so far I thought. BUT, some nations here had helped us. They were involved in Hudian politics once upon a time. I applauded the High Lords' speech[es] whilst awaiting the time I were to speak.

I was going to reiterate that Huda was now strong; we were no longer the meager nation it was before 1971. We were a super power; already having nuclear power plants, bombs and space programs. But that doesn't define a nation, does it? Our population was well-fed, and the lowest poverty rates ever in Hudian history were ongoing. We had kept ourselves isolated, partially. Focusing on homeland issues, poverty, welfare and military, we rebuilt a glorious Huda, with me on the helm. I was never so proud of the nation; for who I had a particular bloodline for: I was a descendant of the founder of Huda; Mubarak Hussein Biswas.

Soon after, I noticed that I was one of the minor number of national leaders to come here. Most nations, I realized, sent foreign ministers and civil servants. Sure, Premier Heaften, the Empress of Mirevia and some more national leaders were here, but I realized not many people had thought that this negotiation was going to work; or their top priority, or perhaps there was more trouble in their respectable nations. I, on the other hand, had not much to do but have idle time, spending time on family outings, picnics and movies. That was rather odd for a leader, to go around with family when a nation's workings were to be ordered by the leader him or herself.

But the Hudian state had barely not much to work on, and I was given ample time to spend some time with my dear family; we went to public parks, even though there were many Hudians there; bare civilians, they decided to respect the time of peace I was given; a time where no political talk about healthcare, about border threats or anything at all, were present. I was grateful for the citizens, but maybe my footprint left behind may have thought to raise rumors I was going to resign from political office, I had decided to reiterate that Hudian isolation had ended, and that now any problems in this world of Atlas were now Hudian problems, and that we, were now a superpower.

A superpower.

UNIFIED DOMINION OF THE HIGH LORDS
Calingus, The Lovarium Dominion

His Excellency Grand Secretary Han Tershan Ralmur and Her Excellency Vice-Regal Consort Marin "Ena" Kefena G. Ralmur are in Neo Viridisia, an official Viridisian air transport and standard carrier of His Imperial Majesty's Government Flight Service, above the Lovarium Capital of Calingus after entering Lovarium airspace four hours ago.

"Neo Viridisia", an Airbus A380 formerly known as "Viridisia", the Emperor of Viridisolum's and His Excellency's, and the Ministers of the Imperial Crown's official air transport and standard-bearer of the Government Flight Service. Painted with a Cerulean blue and black colour scheme based on the colours of the Imperial Banner of Valaran, with the Imperial Insignia of Valaran "The Drake and Phoenix" just above the front gear and the flag of the Imperial State of Viridisolum on the tailfin, the Nation's name in white block letters glistening in the light of the day.

"Why didn't Xerxia came along with us here? She is still the head of His Imperial Majesty's Government, isn't she?" Ena asked Han while observing Calingus below through the most near and convenient of Neo Viridisia's portholes out of curiosity.

"She is darling although it was deemed 'inappropriate' for her to attend the Regional Negotiations Conference," Replied Han with a bored look in his eyes. "The Councilmen of the Imperial Council said the majority of them to be precise."

"What can we do without her? We can't decide on our own in the negotiations without the consent of His Imperial Majesty's Government."

"She is not His Imperial Majesty's Government darling she is only its head. They compose of the head's cabinet from the head's party members serving in the Confederate Assembly. Don't worry Ena, we will act by the conduct and manner planned by Xerxia herself along with her cabinet and will be overseen by a member of her cabinet, by our very own Minister of the Crown for Foreign Affairs the Honourable Jorge Raui. He'll direct our boat in the sea of diplomacy here in the Calingus Negotiations."

"Thank God, I was worried another possibility of a constitutional crisis is ahead of our trip, this time us instead of Burod and Jai."

"Seriously dear," Han crumpled his forehead in confusion on his wife's 'peculiar' remarks. "That won't happen . . . The roles and responsibilities that I have in my office does not conflict with that of the Prime Minister's. In fact I could act without any of their consent as long as everything I do is legally and morally in accordance, by the conventional ethics of our democracy which is designed to protect and ensure the rights of His Imperial Majesty's subjects, including us - after my mandate however."

"I was merely mocking our situation Han you don't have to tell me about our politics."

"And I was only being as stupid as I've ever been."

"Are you trying to say something Han?" Ena looked at Han in doubt. "I believe there's a tone hidden in your previous words suggesting something else that wasn't meant to be."

"That's very silly of you to say Ena, I would never."

"Does the word silly sup- Never mind, now where is Minister Jorge? I would like to see him in order to get away from you. I've yet to see him since a day ago when we flew from Vilfred-Magnus."

His Imperial Majesty's Minister of the Crown for Foreign Affairs Jorge Menim E. Raui was asked to represent the person and intentions of the Right Honourable Prime Minister Xerxia Medor by herself following the refusals of all the Foreign Minister's colleagues in the Prime Minister's cabinet. Jorge accepted the temporal part and accompanied the Grand Secretary and the Vice-Regal Consort, who represents Viridisolum and the North Cetlasi Federation, to the conference of Atlasian leaders in the Lovarium Dominion. Jorge will also advise everything Their Excellencies will do during the Negotiations Conference.

The Grand Secretary, especially the Vice-Regal Consort, has not actual political role bestowed upon them and even the offices they hold in reputation and name. The offices of viceroy and consort previously had more than a ceremonial, moral, and cultural role before the Viridisolum Legislation Act 15 of 1999 and served their roles literally using the Monarch of Valaran's powers in Viridisolum that is only inaccessible to the Valaran Monarch. The Vice-Regal Couple may exercise powers without the consent of the Viridisian Government but this was discouraged since the early nineteen-hundreds when the ideals of self-determination and liberalism was brought by people from Valaran, Hayabusa, Estenia, Carsodonia, New Chilokver and others from across Atlas, mostly from the Curente Continent, as they immigrated to the Valaran Colonies in Northern Cetlaso.

Neo Viridisia landed in Galilean Airport half an hour later, finally in Lovarium soil after two days in the skies of Cetlaso and the Sempit Continent.

"Your Excellency!" Jorge shouted at Han, loud enough for both of them to hear as he approached him.

"Aha, Minister Jorge I have only seen you today, where were you?" Han patted Jorge's back and smiled.

"In the plane of course, Your Excellency, no humour intended."

"You were out of common sight though."

"I spent most of my time in the comfort rooms, back in the rear compartments, with paper bags and anti-emetic drugs to alleviate my fear of high altitude and the feeling of being up there. I wasn't able to make time to talk with Your Excellency and Her Excellency and my presence will only hinder your activities and cause you discomfort as well."

"Oh please do not fret, Minister. We all have our needs."

"Thank you, sir um . . . Has your Excellency been able to adjust in this time zone?" Jorge awkwardly fondled his own hands.

"As far as I've felt, probably yes or no."

"We will have Your Excellencies physicians standing by then just in case. They'll be with us within the next hour or so after I call them to follow us in Calingus Major later on. We have no time to waste now that we are here."

The Grand Secretary, the Vice-Regal Consort, the Foreign Affairs Minister, staff and security, and other people that comprise the Virdisian Delegation went out Neo Viridisia and down unto the Galilean Airport's tarmac in an orderly fashion and lasted for 30 minutes. They were briefly welcomed by the airport's administration and Calingus local authorities but no pleasantries were exchanged.

The Vice-Regal Couple and the Foreign Affairs Minister, with their secretaries and security details, first boarded the Green Giant. Prominent members of the Viridisian Delegation will have to wait for its return from the Senate Hall landing pad. Other Viridisian Delegates will have to board a special motorcade of vans and buses in order to get there.

After arriving at Downtown Calingus, the Senate Hall and most of the Viridisian Delegation were there, they were welcomed again by the Hall's officials and were toured around the building and gave a summary of its history, in and out of the motorcade that took them inside the Hall. A group of local and foreign journalists tried to mob the Vice-Regal Couple and the Foreign Affairs Minister but was stopped by Lovarium security forces within the Hall's compound.

"I'm starting to feel Desynchronosis or as most people call it "Jet Lag" kicking in. Or is it just discomfort in walking around this pile of carved marble, galleries of dead people, and old furnishings? Either which, I find this tour utterly tiring than what we've experienced in that helicopter people here call 'Green Giant.'" Han whispered to Jorge and Ena, who grinned in reply.

The Viridisian Delegation has entered the Senate Chamber and took their places under the Viridisian National Flag and the Valaran Imperial Banner. There covered a small elevated wooden platform where two velvet padded chairs stood and another five before the platform and a table where a name plate that said "The Imperial State of Viridisolum" serve as the table's only decoration. Besides the name plate there are pens and papers arranged neatly.

The Grand Secretary is a burly middle-aged man wearing an Imperial Viridisian Army service uniform which consists of a black beret superimposed by the Valaran Imperial Insignia and black single-breasted tunic along with black trousers and Hessian black leather boots. Additionally His Excellency has a bronze medal in the form of a Dename flower, a sunflower with six buds, surmounted by the Valaran Insignia from the Imperial Order of Viridisolum adorning his neck that displays the Grand Secretary's position as Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Imperial Order of Viridisolum; gold epaulettes and sleeves bearing the crest of the Grand Secretary's office which is also the Valaran Insignia; an aiguillette, braided gold shoulder cords, fastened to the jacket and ending in two tips, are worn by high-ranking military officers such as the Grand Secretary as he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Viridisian Imperial Forces; and the VIF decoration, a gold medal given to servicemen who served in excellence for 12 years. The Grand Secretary received it as the Commander-in-Chief of the VIF.

The Grand Secretary also has a sword in a black scabbard, gilt mountings, and sword knot of gold lace strap with bullion tassel, worn on a sword belt of white web. Instead of the traditional ceremonial swords of the IVA, which are steel thin longswords, His Excellency carried the Sword of Imperial State.

The Sword of Imperial State was one of the ceremonial weapons in the Coronation of the Valaran Monarch and was last used in the Coronation of His Late Imperial Majesty Alphonse IV. The sword's hilt and the scabbard are encrusted with rare minerals such as blue diamonds, yellow rubies and sapphires and the blade is made of the finest Damascus steel, similar to the Jewelled Sword of Offering of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It was hidden within the compound of Imperial Government Palace, Imperial Henstrakon until now.

The Sword represents Viridisolum and signifies the Valaran Monarch's dominion in the Nation.

The Vice-Regal Consort's white ball gown, bronze Laurel wreath, light blue sash, and opera length gloves, made Her Excellency stand out from the rest of the Viridisian Delegation despite of her physique of an average middle-aged mother. Marin is not facially appealing due to the fact that her years of youth are over and that parenthood and her current occupation have stressed her but is otherwise beautiful.

The Foreign Affairs Minister was a rather small, thin and pale elderly man wearing nothing but a black lounge suit distinct only with his red string tie. His grey hair is an aligned mess.

The Vice-Regal Couple is sitting in the two seats above the platform while the Foreign Minister remained directly above the Senate Hall's floors and took his seat in one of the five seats before the Viridisian Delegation's table.

Bro Diyev was feeling tired too. But that was a huge mistake; the 'conference' had already begun. The hosts will not be happy with this.
PM Xaxrada had fell asleep.

''Hey boss, i'm sorry... But it's begun already!'' Bro Diyev shouted to Xaxrada.

''Wait what? FADN AHM SKLO HAUM, OPTOSCHI!'' ('f*cking hell then, you ***hole!') Xaxrada shouted back, getting up from the sofa as soon as possible. This olive-skinned, slightly short, black-haired and desperate-looking man with a business dress stormed back to the Conference Hall.

''Sorry, gentlemen. The long flight to here has given me a terrible headache...'' He uttered, as he found the chair with the Wralandic flag on it , right next to the Wolfish seat, and sat down with a SmarTzung phone and a bunch of loose papers and fixed his glasses. The bodyguards chuckled, but knew this is not a proper way to enter an important conference like this. Xaxrada figured out that it might not be a good idea to talk in front of the others right now, and sat silent and listened to what other delegates had to say. ''After all, Wraland isn't the most important nation here. But, i wonder... Maybe, just maybe, i should approach the Lzherruskians afterwards? We are both neutral, independent countries and close neighbours. We could be good partners... Maybe because of the current wars...? Or am i thinking too far? I don't know...'' Xaxrada soon became lost in his own thoughts, failing to notice whatever was happening around him.

Meanwhile, Patrias, Geshn and Tyi-Marsk, the only Wralics on Calingus' streets, were attempting to contact the Lovarii Government, on a re-establishment of embassies. They were unsuccesfull, however, and gave Bro Diyev a short call:

''We probably think this isn't the right day to do so... After all, two big events are happening at the almost same time here...''

''I understand, lads. But it has to be fixed as soon as possible, got that?'' Bro Diyev responded, as he walked towards the outside of the Senate, not wanting to be disturbed. He put down his phone right afterwards and walked towards the Main Hall of the Senate, and watched the conference take place. PM Xaxrada was now actually listening to what was taking place, and noted down what was being spoken on his phone.

Quietly sitting in the room was Praeses Kauis Antipater. He was offended a quiet man, but when he spoke, he was outspoken. He wondered whether or not anyone had notice him sitting there.

He had been begging for the Lovarium and Doher officials to reconsider their action on going to war. Thankfully, they didnt, and if such an event happened, Antipater could have expect a mass immigration movement in his nation. He did not want to deal with more people living in a tightly packed nation. It was good economically as well; he would have strained his people's money even more by trying to provide programs for all the newly imported immigrants. He tried not to think of such thoughts, but it was invetiable.

Sorry I didn't post earlier, but I was quite busy in the past week.

Calingus, A Few Hours Ago

The V-25 Riverside descended through the clouds. Down below was Calingus, the sprawling, heavily-populated capital of the Lovarium Dominion, one of the two entities which made up the Unified Grönist Dominion of the High Lords, along with the Dozher Empire. Calingus' Senate Hall would host the upcoming peace conference between the warring parties of the Curente conflict, along with neutral states such as West Aurelia. West Aurelian President Stephen Hayes, who had been calling for peace since the start of the war, had decided to personally fly to Calingus in order to attend the conference. He was currently in his bedroom getting ready for his arrival.

The V-25, named after the West Aurelian capital, is a heavily modified commercial airliner designed to be used as the presidential transport. Its state-of-the-art facilities, many of which are classified, enable the president to perform his or her duties while in the air. On certain occasions, it would fly with fighter escorts, but this was deemed inappropriate for a peace conference, much less one in which Hayes was attending as a neutral party.

The 62-year-old Hayes finished his preparations and looked out the window. The towering skyscrapers of Calingus' CBD were visible, as was the beautifully designed Galilean Airport in front of the plane. Hayes quickly exited the bedroom and sat in one of the large seats, buckling his seatbelt in the process. He was wearing a simple black suit, with his necktie in an eldredge knot, which his father had taught him to tie when he was just ten years old.

Hayes was optimistic about the conference. A de facto ceasefire of sorts had been established. Many of the warring nations had decided to halt or decrease military operations while the conference was going on. Some of the nations had already singed peace treaties with each other, ending fighting between them. An end to the conflict could be secured.

As the plane touched down and taxied to its hangar, Hayes watched as his security detail made sure the area was safe. Satisfied, the main door was opened and the president stepped out. Breathing in the fresh air, he walked down the steps to a waiting limousine. The limousine drove him to an HH-3E Jolly Green Giant long-range search and rescue helicopter.

Climbing in along with several of his bodyguards, he settled into his seat. He recalled his old army days, when he had served as a captain. He had no problem relaxing in his seat, having flown in helicopters more times than he could count.

He enjoyed the short flight to a landing pad southwest of the Senate Hall, taking in close-up views of several of the buildings he had seen as the V-25 came in for landing. Exiting the helicopter, he approached a motorcade which has waiting for him. The same limousine from earlier was there. Hayes realized that the pilot had taken him on a brief aerial tour of the city so that the limousine would have time to get to the landing pad.

He entered the limousine, which, along with the rest of the motorcade, drove to the Senate Hall, where a mob of reporters descended on him, only to be kept back by security guards. Next up was a tour of the Hall, which included a brief history lesson. Finally, with the tour complete, he entered the legislative chamber for the conference to begin.

Peace, hopefully, would be the outcome.

Krasnov grinned when the Lovari and Dozheri leaders finished their joint speech. These guys normally are at each other's throats, but look at them now. he thought. He always liked such fiery and passionate speeches about freedom, peace and justice. In the end, his mentor, former Premier and current political advisor, Dimitri Basayev taught him the art of giving such speeches. Basayev was like a father to him, and what he just watched reminded him of the speech they gave together just before the invasion of Rekovia.

But while passionate speeches are always nice in such situations, he still doubted that most men in the room will manage to cooperate to the level were peace can be achieved. He wanted to see actions, not just words about peace.

Just the sight of some people in the room, such as the Sasutarian Deputy Prime Minister and his arrogant look, almost convinced him that such actions will not be undertaken in the near future. But there were also some friendly faces present, such as the Valaran Prime Minister and the Cydonian Foreign Minister. These men restored his hopes that peace could be achieved. He knew that these people, along with some others, would go to great extents to ensure peace and prosperity for Curente and all of Atlas.

But there also were some people in the conference room that of which he never really understood their allegiance, but more importantly, their motives. While the representatives of hostile nations filled him with disgust, he was more worried about these certain individuals, or rather their decisions.

The former Carsodonian leader's words didn't draw his attention too much. He believed that Carsodonia was a lost cause now that his Capitalist pig Vladimir Voloski came to power. Stasnov would provide humanitarian support for the unfortunate Carsodonian People, and some funds to rebuld the country after the war is over, but no more than that. Direct military support now seemed to be out of question.

His thoughts were with all those Stasnovan soldiers in Cydonia struggling through the cold and snow, facing death at every turn, and those being blown to bits in Nothern Chazicaria. Being a former militaryman, he... he was ashamed for he was happy that he wasn't with them.

He took a brief glance at the Mirevian Empress. The fate of Cydonia and the Stasnovans defending her rests in your hands, Your Majesty he thought and then quickly turned his look away.

Krasnov took a deep breath. He tried to reach for his cigarettes in his suits inner pocket, but stopped. He wasn't sure if smoking was allowed in the room.

"Bloody hell" he muttered. He wanted to smoke as soon as possible. It seemed that it was the only way he would relax. But he tried to not think about it and instead wait to hear what came next.

He had gotten a new message from the Capitol.

Nikita Matruski stood, and broke the silence.

"As Representative of the Convist Republic of Roski, I would like to announce that Roski plans to surrender to Adampian Forces, with the current only condition is that Roskian forces pull away from Carsodonia, and Luepolan Nuclear Submarines exit our waters"

He knew that this would completely shock the room, as everyone knew that Roskian nationalism was increasing tenfold.

Calingus, Lovarium
Senate Hall
Local Time

Akira had clapped as the High Lords were introduced and as the dual speech was made. She was anxious in her mind but calm on the surface. She had planned to speak in front of the masses of delegations that were present at the conference. She had taken a moment to breathe, her mind completely sober with the thoughts of war and poverty and how much it really affected the masses of the civilians not just in Currente, but in all of Atlas. She had taken a deep breath, remembering the signs of the rioters for peace in Mirevia had wielded, only hoping she could convince the people, what was thought of to be impossible, especially now in this hard time.

She stood up from her chair, her black and purple, silk formal dress, nearly touching the ground. She quickly took a drink of water before speaking.

"I would like to have the floor for a moment of everyone's time." She paused continuing her speech.

"Nations of Atlas,I understand times have been tough in this bloody conflict and I understand all grievances from both sides of the gate. What started as a isolated incident, turned out into a war, tethering on the brink of destruction of many nations. No one is to blame for this but ourselves,we are diplomats, for our kingdoms, countries and all else. We should not have let this conflict spiral out of control,or for paranoia to bend our minds, but we have and the damage is done. We cannot let this go on any longer. Millions are dying who aren't even involved in this war. I can assure what everybody in this room is thinking,no one wants war,but they will do everything in their rightful power to defend the homeland and the lives of few and many. Our people do not want us all to act like children, siblings even, fighting over spilled milk and who to blame for it. I,as many others have seen this in riots, protests and even sit-downs at embassies. As Mazhenisky stated previously,we have outdated and childish ways of doing things. To all the delegations who disagree with, If you want someone to blame then blame yourselves for taking rash actions and not even conducting an investigation into the original matter, that was at hand months ago. I am not saying anyone in this room is safe from blame, even I am to blame for this. But that is no matter,we cannot dwell on the past if we hope to better our peoples futures. It is not too late,as it is never too late to achieve your dreams,as this is only a barrier skewing our minds and pinning us against each other. As a common people,we have to break the envy of power that curses all of mankind, because in war there are no good choices and it does not determine who is right, but only who is left. If we truly are to attain a united peace movement and progress, then I ask of you all to be leaders..diplomats and put an end to this violence! I ask you all to stand with me,in a united peace effort around Atlas for everyone you have ever cared about! Prove to the world that you can be a great leader, pull your troops out of this unnecessary, bloody and appalling war and away from the borders and end the violence, for the sake of harmony between any and all! If we do not do this then there is no hope for any of us..this war will destroy us all,if it continues. I ask of every delegate and nation leader in this room, will you all let your blood, sweat and tears go to waste for nothing?" She paused again" To show that I am in fact, true to my word,I am disallowing any more supply movements to the war effort in Cydonia, coming through my nation, reducing my troops to pre-war time numbers at the borders and I ask that the Sasutary Islands pull out their forces and end the conflict in Southern Cydonia. I will also assure them a safe passage back through Mirevia,to her waters of which they came." She paused a second time, reaching down with her left arm grabbing her glass of water and drinking more out of it. "Thank you,High Lords and The Nations of Atlas."

"Hold my sword."

The Mirevian Empress had just sat down after a few minutes wittering about how if all the nations present could just stand together they could move mountains, or some other simpering sentiments. In truth, the Commissar had only really paid any attention to the final words she said, and if she'd kept it simply to that, she'd have had far more of an impact. It was time to move things forward. Stepping out onto the floor, the Commissar cleared his throat and twitched his cuffs as he waited for the quiet hubbub of conversation to die back down.

"I would put a question to the belligerents of this war," the Commissar started, only half knowing where he was planning to go with his time in the spotlight. He was careful not to look at anybody directly lest they take the question personally, but unconsciously found himself facing Bratislav's representative. "How many of your citizens have died in the last weeks? Can you tell me how many men, women and children have lost their lives over the course of this war?" Hundreds of thousands had fallen, but it was not a question he expected a genuine answer to. Folding down his left thumb and index finger, the Commissar held up his hands.

"Eight." Turning so everybody got a good look at him, the Commissar held the silence for a moment. "Eight Lzher citizens have died. Three were a family living in Roski, killed when the Tower of Dreams collapsed. Two were laughably referred to as collateral damage when the Communist and the Nazi Parties in Qubec fought over Alma International Airport. Three further I am not at liberty to disclose the details of. Some of my closest advisors would have me believe that this is to my shame, that I should have acted sooner to intervene in one of the theatres and help bring an end to the conflict there. I believe this is to my pride.

"The point I wish to make is simple. Lzherusskia is sufficiently powerful a force that our entry into one or another of the conflicts would have brought the day at which the wars ended significantly closer, and yet Lzherusskia has remained neutral. Why? Because Lzherusskia desires peace above all else. Intervention might have shortened the war, but it would have made it commensurately bloodier and that is not a result I find acceptable.

"I will take up little more of your time. Lzherusskia's desires from this conference are simple. We wish for peace. We want a civil end to hostilities, and we will support whatever collective effort is deemed acceptable to that end. We also wish to see the Tsar of Estenia tried for war crimes. And most pertinently, we wish to hear from the core belligerents of the war. Bratislav, Adampia, Hayabusa, step forward. Defend yourselves."

Calingus, LOVARIUM DOMINION

DPM Junkers only heard the last part of the Mirevian monarch's speech. The part which churned his stomach, the ceasing of support for Sasutarian action in Cydonia. The DPM, after the Commissar of Lzherusskia spoke, stood up and stepped onto the floor, clearing his throat and thinking of words. The place was filled with people from all corners of Atlas, and it was time to voice the opinion of the people.

"You preach of peace, yet you can't get your own husband to PRACTISE any sort of peace. Tell me, your Majesty, if you have any such illusion of peace in the coming future, perhaps you should pursue it on the home front first? Because, the way I see it, your husband is pursuing multiple wars on multiple fronts which he has started for no valid reason, other than that of 'defending one of his allies'. Should you be able convince us to pull out of Cydonia, you will have to be able to shift your husband away from battle and to peace. The people of Sasutaria do not negotiate with hypocrites, and neither shall we sacrifice the deaths of more than 4,000 soldiers and millions of dollars of equipment."

Junkers paused, took a sip of water, then continued.

"If this debate is going to be on the topic of Human Rights, allow me to state this. We have sent the best Field Marshall to command the Cydonien Korps. His name is Sir Aslo Kristiansen, as you all may know by the biography published just today by the Atlas Diaries. He is an avid proponent of human rights, and he is a man who sticks to his ideals, I should know. Over the past few weeks, the Cydonien Korps have reported no Casualties of captured Cydonian and Stasnovan soldiers, of which there are currently X. They have been given top priority for their safety and comfort, and Aslo has guaranteed me that he'd treat them as one of his own men. We have seen only Y civilian casualties, Y people who walked into a barrage of artillery. War may not be good for the human race, but it is not US who brought in upon the helpless people of Cydonia in the first place."

Junkers glanced briefly at the Carsodonian and Cydonian envoys,

"To that you can blame the Cydonian and Carsodonian governments, who continue to wage war on an unprecedented scale, a war which they seem to have limitless supplies of men, men taken away from their families and sent to the frontlines to die. Maybe, your majesty, you may be woken up to the reality of the threat of Cydonia. Do you honestly think they care about what you preach? Your so-called 'peace' is all but a delay for the inevitable end that will lead to either yours or his country's demise."

"The key to peace, my fellow people, is to pursue it domestically, from the inside. It requires a nation which seeks peace, and currently I see that Cydonia and Carsodonia do not want to pursue peace. So it is said that if they do not want peace, we shall not give them peace. Not until they change their attitude."

Junkers returned to his seat. Glancing once more at the Cydonian and Carsodonian delegates, he waited for a response.

“I would like to echo the statements of Empress Akira and Commissar Revyakin” Hesseren stood. It wasn’t time, but he was frankly bored of waiting, and felt an urge, as all politicians do, to make his view heard.

He wasn’t too concerned by Junkers. Having gauged the mood, it seemed the vast majority of delegates and leaders had little stomach for further conflict, leaving the Sasutarian isolated at best. The Lzher was a different quantity; the man was too perceptive. Indeed, the Commissar was a unique figure at the conference; he didn’t seem burdened by the emotional baggage or the political constraints that informed the actions of the other delegates. And that left him an unknown quantity. Possibly dangerous, though Hesseren took some heart from the fact his own nation was not labelled as a belligerent. He could work with that.

“Peace is naturally what my nation intends to achieve here. However, that is not nearly enough.” Hesseren got to the point. he wasn’t here to display a prowess at speechmaking, and it was probably best not for him to make an emotional appeal right now. That would have been detrimental. Instead, he might as well be concise.

“Peace now would only leave tensions unresolved and patriotic fury unquenched, ready to flare up at the next spark. Indeed, with such buildups and tensions initiated this conflict, and they will do so again. Indeed, as Junkers has clearly demonstrated with his divisive rhetoric, unless we attack the root causes of this war, peace is unlikely to hold.”

Instead, I propose we do more than call a ceasefire; alone it would be an insult to the memory of the fallen. We must tackle with more ingrained problems that led to this conflict, namely mistrust, and the use of military force as a default response. The two cannot be separated; they cause one another. And thus we must deal with both, here and now, or we will all be back at another conference within six months, with another spiralling death-toll. That failure would reflect on all of us. This must be halted now.”

"Oh, and for the record, I fully support Empress Akira's actions. They have been the real commitment to the peace efforts so far, and this is the example we must follow. All of us." His gaze bored into Junkers as he sat down.

Krasnov was filled with anger by the words of the Sasutarian DPM. He slammed his fist on the conference table and stood up "This is an outrage!" he said angrily

"How dare you speak about peace, Mr. Junkers? I can assure you that the Cydonian and Stasnovan governments want peace more that anything. You speak about peace, yet you invade a sovereign nation, just to increase your sphere of influence, and to satisfy your leaders' imperialist thirst! All with the excuse of bringing 'democracy' the the Cydonian People. Did you ask if the Cydonian People wants your....'democracy'? And how did the Cydonian government bring war to its People? By rightfully trying to halt the Chazicarian imperialist interests in a fellow Socialist State? Carsodonia has already called for peace and it's currently working on the matter, and is also trying to strengthen relations with the Great Kindom of Hayabusa.

And please Mr. Junkers, stop with the personal attacks against Her Majesty, Empress Akira. The marrige between Empress Akira and Comrade Heaften doesn't have anything to do with any of this. They are both Heads of State of diffrent nations, and their personal relationship isn't a part of international politics, and doesnt' affect their actions.

As for the prisoners of war and casualties, how can we know if we should trust your "Cydonien Korps"? Why should we? They are an army of men that volunteered to invade a sovereign nation, that is sponsored and supported by the Sasutarian government. So tell me, Mr. Junkers, why should we believe the claims of an army of marauders and invaders?"

With that being said, on behalf of the United Socialist States of Stasnov, i declare our full support the decision of Empress Akira to cease her nation's support of the Sasutaria aggression against Cydonia, in her effort to achieve peace"

Krasnov then turned to look at the Lzher Commissar Revyakin "Comrade Commissar, i greately appreciate your neutral stance in the war. This was the stance my government initially tried to maintain, but when one of our closest allies, Cydonia, came under threat of an imperialist invasion, we couldn't simply stand and watch. I'm sure that you can understand that. But as always, the Stasnovan People desire peace and prosperity more than anything, and we will go to great extents to achieve it. Thank your for your time." he said and sat down.

A grin formed on Krasnov's face as he nodded at the Valaran Prime Minister when his finnished his speech. He took a deap breath waited to see what came next.

Štefan continued to look around at the other delegates there namely the Mirevian empress. Štefan was told that the Premier had spoken to her personally over the phone to negotiate a peace plan between the two countries and Štefan figured she would propose it here. As he was still looking off someone sat down next to him and tried to speak to him. It was the Stasnovan delegate.

“Ah yes, Comrade Krasnov nice to see you.” Said Štefan as he shook the Premier’s hand.

“Despite the jet lag, I’m doing quite well today.”, Štefan smiled then turned back to look as the Conference started with the Dozer Empire delegate speaking. Štefan listened to the other delegates speak but none until the Mirevian Empress’s speech were worth responding to. After hearing the Empress’s announcement that she would cease allowing Sastuarian war materials from entering Mirevia. He was glad that she chose to agree with the Premier’s peace agreement and because that the war in both Curente and Cydonia would soon end. The Sastuarians would now have little choice to but to either surrender and withdraw, or fight to the death with the fixed amount of supplies they now have. Štefan listened as the Sastuarian DPM spoke and he was aggravated at the fallacies came from the DPM’s speech. Just as he was about to stand, the Stasnovan delegate stated the same exact thing that Štefan was about to point out. With that Štefan stood up: ”I second Premier Krasnov’s statements”.

He then sat down and awaited a response to Krasnov’s speech. After he sat down he took out his phone and messaged to the Premier that the Empress agreed to stop the flow of Sastuarian war materials. It would be a matter of time until victory would be achieved.

Hayes stood up. "Now, I know that there are a lot of people in this room who would like to speak, so I'm going to keep this as brief as possible." He took a sip of water. "Firstly, I would like to reiterate West Aurelia's neutral stance in this conflict. I want peace and stability for Curente. West Aurelia wants peace and stability for Curente. And I'm sure everyone gathered here wants peace and stability for Curente, or you wouldn't have come."

He turned to Revyakin. "I know your question isn't directed at me, but, zero. Zero West Aurelians have been killed in this conflict. And why is that?" He turned to look at each person in the chamber. "For the same reason as Lzherusskia. We have remained neutral, and West Aurelian blood has not been spilled."

Next, he turned to Hesseren. "I must agree with Mr. Hesseren. The root problem of this conflict must be tackled - and that problem is the November 27, 2014 Hayabusan-Cydonian border incident. We can more or less trace the buildup of tensions which sparked the current conflict back to that incident. As my government has repeatedly called for, unfortunately to no avail, an unbiased, independent investigation into that incident involving all concerned parties must be undertaken. Whatever the outcome of the investigation, I cannot stress enough the importance of a diplomatic solution. Whoever is in the wrong must be punished adequately, and without further bloodshed."

He sat back down and awaited the next speaker.

Hesseren sighed. Maybe it was just him, but the last thing they needed was endless recriminations. He felt the conference was turning into a list of speeches and appeals for the end of war. It was probably time they actually did something to end it. He stood again, nodding politely to Hayes.

"Now, I don't know about the investigation. It may need to be held. But I disagree in that it was the only cause of the conflict. Personally, I think there are a number of nations, and individuals who share the blame, and this includes my own country, to a degree."

"What matters now is how we resolve it. But speeches, however eloquent won't do that. We all may want peace, but so far we haven't actually discussed how to achieve it. So I'm setting out the first practical terms we've had mention of in this conference, bar Akira's efforts."

"Firstly, I request a full ceasefire across Eastern Curente for a fortnight. This is to take effect in 24 hours. Now I understand in many areas, there already is a de facto cessation of hostilities, but lets formalise it and extend across the entire theatre. A fortnight seems a good starting point and it sets a definite figure for everyone to work with, but if negotiations here are not resolved at the end of this point, then I also request it be allowed to extend until this has ended. Any breach in the ceasefire will dealt with here, so there shall no excuse retaliation leading to widespread conflict. Are we all agreed to this?"

He didn't wait for a response. The ceasefire was merely the opening stage of his plans. He walked to the podium slowly, gathering his thoughts, and his resolve. He would need every ounce for what he was about to say.

"Once that's done, it will give us a breathing space to move onto dealing with the various issues, as well as act as our first success here. I propose we divide the terms here into three areas of focus, for ease of dealing with them. These should be the Cydonian Theatre, The Carsodonian Theatre, and Qubec. Then, if possible, we can move onto the struggles across Cetlaso and Sempit. But seeing as the origin of the war was in Curente, and this is where the deepest division remain, I felt it best we achieve these first."

"I was going to start with the Cydonian theatre since it seems the easiest to build a general consensus on. Let's start with the obvious. The borders should naturally remain status quo ante bellum, and no governments of the involved nations should be changed; we aren't here to disregard the will the respective populations and trample over national sovereignty. I hope I'm being absolutely clear on that point. "

"Secondly, concerning the frequency of border incidents, I propose this: the various nations who share a militarise border with Cydonia, and Cydonia itself shoudl establish local level communication and standard procedures. When troops movements occur nearby, they should inform the local commander on the other side through these official channels. In essence a code of conduct and communication should be created, to build mutual trust and halt any misunderstandings leading to conflict. This has been a recurring problem in recent years, and I intend for it to stop now."

Hesseren steeled himself for the next part. This was the most controversial and divisive element of what he proposed. It was needed, but it wouldn't be easy to pass, even with the general consensus hopefully constructed by the Cydonian element of the plan.

"Now, onto Carsondonia. The same things for Cydonia should be implemented here as well. However, I don't think they go far enough. The build ups on the border between Carosdonia and Hayabsua far exceeded anything elsewhere and this must be dealt with. Similarly the sheer scale of the troops mobilised and actually used, the full scale invasion of Sde Dov nearby; this is all intolerable. These massive militaries being deployed on a whim, and the eagerness to use force, were exactly, what caused the war to break out here. They need to stop. Thus, I call upon this conference to create a demilitarised zone on the Carsodonian borders and to limit what military it can deploy. Exactly what this shall entail I leave open to discussion, but I will say this; peace and security must come before needless compromise."

"And finally, Qubec. The situation here is rather different and more confusing, so I will only speak on it briefly. I would like to express my support for the referendum but also point out that it was conducted shortly after the nation surrendered to armies running bombing campaigns on it, and when its government was briefly overthrown by neo-Nazi rebels, with much of the nation still not pacified. Those are hardly ideal circumstances. And thus, I would propose we set up an international body to watch events carefully there, and that any firm action must be taken against any hint of oppression, both foreign and internally imposed. I would also call upon Roksi to reassure Qubec's neighbours that this won't result in further increases of tensions here. This is paramount. other than that, I'm afraid that's all we can do there for now."

"Now, all the terms above are not final. This is in effect a draft, but one I strongly urge all those attending to implement. It solves both the immediate issues and the long-term divisions, but it only works if we all pledge to it and uphold it. Or this will happen again. And so far, I have seen no other alternative, so this appears our only short as well as our best one."

"We have already failed Atlas once, by allowing this war to happen. Let's not fail it a second time."

Senate Hall, Calingus, Lovarii Dominion.
2/1/2015.
Presidente Zaheer Abbas.

I glanced at the officials speaking. I should begin talking. But as I heard the delegates speeches, I smiled. The Mirevian delegation; however, was presenting danger to us on a plate. Mirevian blockades against any conflict in Cydonia posed as conflict in Mirevia itself. The Sasutarian delegation will view that as a provocation. I awaited every single person to speak. Patience, was not exactly my middle name; I didn't have any. But I was ready to keep my cool, for the sake of Huda. I cleared my throat, and drank some water from the glass, and stood up after Hesseren completed speaking.

"Saalam, or Greetings, good friends in Atlas. I am Presidente Zaheer Abbas, Presidente of Huda." I said. Once more, I cleared my throat and began speaking. "I would like to echo the Valaran delegation's ideas to form peace, in Curente. This conflict, mainly in Curente has cost thousands of lives. We people are esteemed, powerful in politics. We can rule the nation, or we already have. We are supposed to help our people, not starve them or shoot them in their faces. But one thing, I must criticize the Mirevian delegation. A step to peace would not be angering the opposition, by blockading ports. The step to peace is compromising first. Now, similarly to the honorable Lzher delegation, who are indeed, true to peace for their people, we are neutral.

Ever since the cowardly civil war, we have stood silent to conflicts. Focusing on rebuilding this nation to what it is now. Banishing poverty, welfare and corruption. It is a hard task, and the evils I have spoke, are always present. But we keep them onto a minimum. Why? Because we are neutral. But onto peace a ceasefire, is an important requirement to peace. We require peace. But sometimes... peace requires a little push. Indeed, we should begin to fix the borders. But in the fortnight, I say a peacekeeping force by neutral nations, like Lzherussia and Huda be instated in major conflict zones, and humanitarian aid begin pouring in the area.

That was one large speech. Waiting for a response, I sat down, finishing my water. Peace, was primary for this conference. And even though it wasn't of much requirement for me, it was time for me to begin Hudian relations. I certainly had... favorites. Valaran, Lzherussia, and New Aurelia. Stasnov... could be a healthy ally. Sitting down, I glanced at the delegations, predicting who would be replying. The Empress may have been angered by my short criticism, and I suppose Valaran and Lzehrussia may criticize me for thinking that peacekeeping forces would get a step to peace. But who knows? It might.

The Queen looked over at the President of West Aurelia, as he once again brought up the apparent need for a neutral and unbiased investigation as to what exactly happened when a Royal Army Grenadier Guard Battalion had opened fire on encroaching Cydonians in Visterham. It had nearly been the initiation of a full scale war between the GK and Cydonia, but as the fighting men on both sides fought each other to a stalemate, the situation defused rather quickly. Nodding to President Hayes and Prime Minister Hesseren as they took their seats, the young Queen took her turn and stood up.

"While I do understand the West Aurelian delegate's concerns in regards to the Visterham Crisis, I do believe the fact that a fully armed APC passed the agreed 150 meter zone which limits how far armoured vehicles can come to the border, and went even further with that to cross our borderline, is enough proof in and of itself. Even if this was an accident, the border guards did as they were commanded and trained to do, and neutralized the encroaching forces. It has also been reported by our men that the Cydonian troops were carrying 6 magazines, 3 above the standard protocol. If this is true, they were ready for a long fight. But the issue with the magazines and extra gear has not been confirmed by an external source, as the West Aurelian delegation points out. We have no way of knowing if this was truly an accident or an act of aggression unless the commanding officer of Cydonia's border guards can confirm if that was an authorized assault or not. Eh, let me get to the point here. If this whole incident was a misunderstanding and accidental encroachment, I would be more than willing to establish friendly relations with the Cydonian state."

She paused, took a breath, and continued on shortly.

"My last statement regarding the Visterham Crisis will actually be a question, to the delegation of West Aurelia. If a general consensus that an investigation should be conducted comes about, how exactly would we conduct that said investigation? The Cydonian APC is in ruins, and the bodies and hear deceased Cydonians are no longer there. The only proof we really have are pictures taken by Hayabusan soldiers, which would not be considered a neutral standpoint of evidence. Perhaps, the investigators could ask civilians who witnessed the situation what they saw...? What do you have in mind?"

Taking a quick sip of tea, she looked down once more at her notes, and looked back up to face the delegates.

"Lastly, I second Prime Minister Hesseren's statements. The proposed intercom between Hayabusan and Cydonian soldiers will prevent more events like the Visterham Crisis from ever happening on a mass scale. The fact that nobody had actually thought about or considered that brilliant idea before this point is actually quite embarassing. As for the DMZ between the Great Kingdom and Carsodonia, I believe what forces are stationed on that border should be at least 5 kilometers away from the DMZ itself. Before, Hayabusan and Carsodonian soldiers were literally close enough to be able to see each other clearly from either side of the border, and I think a good amount of distance and a whole lot of civilians between the two forces would be an automatic way of discouraging any aggressive or plain stupid acts that people might have in their heads. That is all."

Queen Elizabeth nodded, and sat back down, taking another sip of her tea, and set the cup back down on the wooden table. She didn't speak at all in regards to the overseeing of Qubec and its issues with the neo-nazis because she didn't want to make Hayabusa seem like even more of an empire or influence-monger than it already was. Hayabusa had already briefly invaded Cydonia and pushed far into the Carsodonian north in the past 3 months or so, and had a large amount of military presence in other nations as well. Frankly, the presence of the Royal Knights in Currente was a bit excessive, and she would understand why nations may not take kindly to that. Instead, her plan was to sit that one out and maybe dodge a bullet or two, and simply make sure that none of those Nazis made it into Hayabusa. Next on her agenda was to offer up humanitarian aid to anyone who needed it.

Senate Chamber

President Vladimir Putrov took the floor.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I stand in support of Bratislav and Hayabusa. These nations were only acting in their best judgement. However, I condemn the usage of nuclear weapons by Adampia. Moving on, I would like to remember all innocent civilians who have died in this crisis. In my country, 489 people have died as a result as a result of our war with Carsodonia. My government calls on the new government of Carsodonia to withdraw from my country's territory as soon as possible. I also congratulate the successful turnout of your first democratic election. I will now proceed to the main topic: the current wars in Curente and far beyond. In the Visterham crisis, I propose a de-militarized zone patrolled by nations other than Cydonia and Hayabusa; furthermore, I propose the creation of an international zone. This incident in which Cydonian troops crossed the line on November 27 needs to be investigated by an independent body, with a clear and transparent investigation."

The President took a look at the Queen of Hayabusa and the Premier of Cydonia.

"Despite my statements, I will still have a force of 8,000 still stationed with the Hayabusans, to quickly respond in case of a full scale conflict and to protect our vital interests."

Flipping the prepared speech, the President drank a glass of water.

"Now I will move on to the war in Curente before I finish. The war in Hayabusa, Cydonia and Carsodonia are matters that my government has a full eye on. We will not stand by and do nothing, as the crises in our neighboring nations are a matter that concerns our nation and its people. The war has also reached our land, with the dastardly actions of the Carsodonian government by invading Sde Dov's western border. Once again, I demand the full withdrawal of Carsodonian forces from our motherland. Personally, I feel that our nation is under threat, and once I get back to Sde Dov, I will spend millions, if not billions to upgrade our military.

Finally, I will move to the subject of the annexation of Qubec by the government of Roski, I strongly condemn this annexation, considering its past history with weapons of mass destruction. My government may also be called hypocritical, but I will make clear of Sde Dov's policy with such weapons. We will only use these weapons as necessary, and that we will never use it in a first strike. Even though Qubec's government has been considered hostile in the past, my government demands full restoration of sovereignty to Qubec with a democratically elected government. Thank you."

Hesseren didn't feel particularly thirsty, so he decided to keep speaking. Besides, momentum must be maintained, and he would not allow this conference to get sidetracked in needless debates. Qubec could also wait; it was just a distraction right now in his mind. The Prime Minister Stood again.

"As-salam alaykum Presidente Abbas. I would like to thank you for you support, and that of Queen Elizabeth; it is an honour to have such immediate acclaim. I am happy to agree to neutral nations such as your own country, Lzherussia and West Aurelia providing peacekeeping forces, and helping the distribution of humanitarian aid. I would like to add to this by offering some £5.2 billion in Valaran Pounds in aid. Roughly half will be earmarked for the Cydonian theatre, and the rest to be distributed to the other areas of devastation in Curente. Furthermore, if my nation is also considered worthy by those present, I would also like to add a detachment of VRF to an peacekeeping force."

"Now, in light of this, and the speeches by President Putrov and Queen Elizabeth, I have some issues to raise. Firstly, I think the peacekeeping force should only be only the demilitarised in the 5km DMZ proposed by her majesty; I'm not sure a similar proposal is needed on the Cydonia-Hayabusa border just yet. I would also like to second her other point, that an investigation right now is rather pointless, given the sparse nature of reliable information. Its also a secondary concern; we need to create a working peace plan first, before getting bogged down in recriminations and lengthy legal proceedings." Hesseren spoke with the strength of conviction. To his mind, the various leadera and delegates already spent enough time here as it is, and there was no need to prolong it. "Now, concerning Qubec, I feel we should we reach a general accord there as well. But the greater priority are the other fronts. Let us build a consensus there first, and then come back to the altogether thornier issues concerning that nation."

"However, this can only happen, once the peace process is implemented. Thus does, anyone have an objection to the ceasefire, and my peace proposal?" He paused rhetorically. "If not, I propose they the former be implemented with immediate effect, and the latter to shortly follow. We may talk as long as we want, and remember those who died in sufficient detail, but right now these plans are paramount. Can this conference prove its commitment to peace, and agree right here, right now to create such an ideal?"

The Bratislavian Foreign Minister after having some side conversations with fellow allies and also the delegate from Cydonia, made a formal statement to the gathered:

"As my government has stated, it is in our highest of interests that all nations here come to an acceptable agreement that will bring about peace and stability in our region. I will be blunt. The biggest obstacle to obtaining that peace is the State of Cydonia. A constant thorn in our region. But even a thorn can be dealt with. We can soften the thorn so that all of us can live relative peace and harmony. I have consulted fellow ally countries of Bratislav and also have talked with the delegate from Cydonia. We have the military option of escalating the war in Northern Cydonia and allow further allies to stage full attack on Northern Cydonia. Our goal is to dismantle and neutralize enemy military sites in the area that pose a threat to our Republic and to our allies. However, the prevention of bloodshed is the most desirable outcome. And my Government is ready to have a frank agreement with the Cydonian Government that would see a real reduction of military presence in Northern Cydonia and the granting of further cultural and linguistic rights to Bratislavian minorities in the area. If such goodwill is shown by the Cydonian side, we will be ready to ensure that a full cessation of hostilities is achieved between our two states. Thank You."

Hesseren sighed. It was the sigh of frustration, of a man who had nearly forged his ideal, only to find it rent and torn at the last moment. His fury returned, and he remained standing, his eyes ablaze.

"The only thorn I currently find right now is your statement, foreign minister." His eyes were fixed on those of the Bratislavan representative. "Your accusations are bad enough, as is your misguided view of Cydonia."

"But what is worse, is your use of blatant threat and blackmail to impose extra terms on the peace deal. A threat of war is the last thing peace needs right now."

He made an effort to calm down. It wasn't fully successful.

"While I'm sure there is a 'frank agreement' to be reached and that you have some valid issues to address, my concern is the for the peace of Atlas, in war where millions have died. I rather think that takes priority for now. Would you care to say otherwise?"

Ishdu'yeet was fed up with sitting. Handing his daggers to one of his advisors, he slowly stood up. He straightened his suit, feeling a bit of stage fright welling up in his stomach.

"If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to speak for a bit."

Not waiting for a response, he continued.

"I would like to piggyback off of my friend Hesseren's comments there. Having you, Mr. Nikolev, an enemy of Cydonia, negotiating the end of the war of Cydonia, makes little sense. As does combatants against Carsodonia deciding their conclusion, or Qubec, or Roski, or any theatre of war. This will merely lead to bias, and bias is no good in the after-war stage."

"I would like to propose a group of neutral nations, who have as of yet not been involved in the war, that will decide the fate of the war. Of course, other nations who have been involved in the war will be able to pitch ideas to their group, but not participate in the carrying out of the law. Perhaps, in the long run, this could involve into a conference of nations. Of course, for now, we will focus on the matters at hand."

"Many of Mr. Hesseren's comments I wholly agree with, and would like the international community to consider. However, I feel he does not go far enough. I would like to propose the aforementioned demilitarised zone along the borders of Cydonia and Carsodonia, as well as not allowing either side to bring any kind of troop within, say, 50 kilometers of the DMZ. All planes flying over the border will need clearance, or risk being attacked. There will be a small group of troops from the conference of neutral nations I have already proposed who will patrol the border."

"I would also like the international community to consider war crimes against some nations. For example, against Roski, for committing genocide against the Adampian people; against Sasutary Island, for their uncalled for invasion of Cydonia, and against Chazicaria, for their aggression against Carsodonia." He winced at the last one; he did not particularly like Carsodonia. But, justice must be served. "I hope you will consider my proposals. Thank you."

Hesseren turned to the fresh challenge, this time with some more decorum. But no less conviction.

"I think sir, that we share the same sentiments. This is something I commend. And I strongly second your rejection of any bias concerning the peace with Cydonia"

"However, I hope you won't mind if I disagree with the practicalities of some of the thing you propose. For my proposal, isn't about 'going far enough'. Instead, its about creating a sustainable peace the vast majority of nations here will accept, not pointing the finger of blame at others."

"Thus, I would reject the notion of war crimes in Curente, as it would be practically impossible to draw a line. You mainly focus on uncalled for invasions being worthy of condemnation, yet the nations listed are hardly the only perpetrators, and by that line even my country is guilty. Should my predecessor be tried too, in that case? Should I? Furthermore, I hardly expect the aforementioned nations to agree to a peace deal where their leaders are tried. Justice is blind, but her sword cuts all the same."

"I'm divided on the issue of a second DMZ. It could work, but I think joint communication is good enough, and would be better to build up trust in the long term. But if we collectively feel a second DMZ is best, then it shall be so."

"Now about the neutral nations being the only ones being able to make decisions, I would like to make the following point: neutrality does not equate to impartiality. Moreover, those more directly involved would also better understand the causes of the war, and thus how best to resolve them, while outsiders may impose terms that actually might aggravate the problems rather than solve them. Thus, I would to ask you directly, do you consider my nation unworthy of participation in ending the war?"

Arriving rather late, I'm afraid. I hope I got here in time to be part of Val's peacekeeping force, huehuehuehue

One of the senate guards was quite surprised. Surprised, in fact, at the pippy little man standing before him. He couldn't have been more than 5 feet tall, and was puffing on a long wooden pipe that smelled of Montecristo tobacco. Even more surprising than the man was what appeared to be the delegation behind him, all four members wearing dark suits and earpieces with close-cropped hair. One of them, extraordinarily, appeared to be carrying a falcon in a brass cage by his side. The guard rubbed his eyes in disbelief. He was about to radio for security when the little man reached up a hand to stop him.

It was the thickest Scottish accent the unfortunate guard had ever heard. "Oi, laddie, just what do ye think you're doing?" he said, taking out his pipe. The guard stammered back, "Who-who are you?" The little man's eyes widened, then he began to laugh. "Lad, I'm the Prime Minister of-" he began to wave his pipe around- "Hal-o-well! Hallowell!" A thick cloud of tobacco smoke now hung over his head. The guard's face read blank. In desperation, the Prime Minister held up his identification card. His picture, surmounted by the icon of a crown, read "JOHN ABERDEEN". The guard finally gasped. "Oh, yes, yes, you're the Prime Minister of Halloween!" Aberdeen's eyes narrowed. "Erm, Hallowell." the guard stammered.

"Aye, now that's better!" Aberdeen near-yelled, and one of his attendants flung open the doors to the chamber. Tucking his pipe into a back pocket, Aberdeen strutted in with all the confidence of a peacock, whilst the Hallowell delegation followed him, falcon and all.

He crossed over to where William Hesseren, PM of Valaran, was sitting. "John Aberdeen, Prime Minister and His Royal Majesty's Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Hallowell, at your service." Aberdeen grasped Hesseren's hand with both of his, then sat down next to the stunned foreign leader. As there was no place-card on the table, an attendant produced a gold-and-silver one from his pocket and placed it on the desk, along with a glass of water and a microphone.

To the room, he said, "I came as soon as I heard there was a neutral peacekeeping force! I really-" he looked at Hesseren- "really would like tae get Hallowell involved in such an organisation." He clutched the microphone again. "I'd also like to pledge the support of two divisions of the Royal Hallowell Army to assist in maintaining the ceasefire." He leaned back; he was satisfied and ready to get on with business. After observing the rather stunned foreign delegates' faces, he grabbed the microphone for a third time.

"Oh, and I'd also like tae address the elephant in the room here- the falcon is mine, nobody worry." He leaned back again. He was done talking, at least for now, but would jump at the moment the peacekeeping force was brought up again.
